dc5b961410 dt-bindings: display: amlogic, meson-vpu: exclusively use amlogic, canvas
When the DRM driver for the meson platform was created, the bindings
required that the DMC register region was provided.

Through those DMC registers, the display driver could configure an IP
called "canvas", a video lookup table used by the display IP.

It was later discovered that "canvas" is actually an IP shared by other
components than display: video decoder, 2D engine.. and that it wasn't
possible to keep the canvas code in DRM.

Over the past few months, incremental efforts have been deployed to
create a standalone meson-canvas driver [1], and the DRM driver was
patched to optionally use it if present [2].

This is the final step of those efforts where we simply remove any
control over DMC that the meson DRM driver has.

Please note that this breaks compatibility with older DTs that only
provide the DMC register range but not the amlogic, canvas node.

38f070eb12 drm/tegra: Changes for v5.1-rc1
This set of changes starts of with some refactoring of the CEC support
to make it reusable on Tegra210 and later. Following are a couple of
fixes for HDMI audio support (via HDA).

The bulk here is a set of preparatory patches working towards enabling
Tegra186 support for host1x and VIC. Additional patches will be needed
to fully enable this, but they're not quite ready yet.

To round things off, this also adds support for configuring the SOR
crossbar using device tree, and fixes a couple of job-related issues in
 the host1x code.

drm/tegra: Changes for v5.1-rc1

This set of changes starts of with some refactoring of the CEC support
to make it reusable on Tegra210 and later. Following are a couple of
fixes for HDMI audio support (via HDA).

The bulk here is a set of preparatory patches working towards enabling
Tegra186 support for host1x and VIC. Additional patches will be needed
to fully enable this, but they're not quite ready yet.

To round things off, this also adds support for configuring the SOR
crossbar using device tree, and fixes a couple of job-related issues in
the host1x code.

fc381bb235 drm/panel: Augment the TPO TPG110 bindings
The TPO TPG110 bindings were using the DPI bindings (popular
in the fbdev subsystem) but this misses the finer points
learned in the DRM subsystem.

We need to augment the bindings for proper DRM integration:
the timings are expressed by the hardware, not put into the
device tree. I.e. this hardware is self-describing and can
report the resolutions and timings needed. It should not
be described in the device tree.

Further the device was incorrectly modeled with GPIO lines
instead of an SPI child, even though the device was using
SPI.

No known deployments of the device using device tree
exist, so it should be fine to augment the bindings.

c0e9ab2472 dt-bindings: drm/panel: simple: Innolux TV123WAM is actually P120ZDG-BF1
As far as I can tell the bindings that were added in commit
9c04400f7e ("dt-bindings: drm/panel: Document Innolux TV123WAM panel
bindings") weren't actually for Innolux TV123WAM but were actually for
Innolux P120ZDG-BF1.

As far as I can tell the Innolux TV123WAM isn't a real panel and but
it's a mosh between the TI TV123WAM and the Innolux P120ZDG-BF1.
Let's unmosh.

Here's my evidence:

* Searching for TV123WAM on the Internet turns up a TI panel. While
it's possible that an Innolux panel has the same model number as the
TI Panel, it seems a little doubtful. Looking up the datasheet from
  the TI Panel shows that it's 1920 x 1280 and 259.2 mm x 172.8 mm.

* As far as I know, the patch adding the Innolux Panel was supposed to
be for the board that's sitting in front of me as I type this
(support for that board is not yet upstream). On the back of that
  panel I see Innolux P120ZDZ-EZ1 rev B1.

* Someone pointed me at a datasheet that's supposed to be for the
panel in front of me (sorry, I can't share the datasheet). That
  datasheet has the string "p120zdg-bf1"

* If I search for "P120ZDG-BF1" on the Internet I get hits for panels
that are 2160x1440. They don't have datasheets, but the fact that
the resolution matches is a good sign.

While we doing the rename, also mention that no-hpd can be used with
this panel. See the previous patch in this series ("drm/panel:
simple: Add "no-hpd" delay for Innolux TV123WAM").

cb028e4912 dt-bindings: drm/panel: simple: Add no-hpd property
Some eDP panels that are designed to be always connected to a board
use their HPD signal to signal that they've finished powering on and
they're ready to be talked to.

However, for various reasons it's possible that the HPD signal from
the panel isn't actually hooked up. In the case where the HPD isn't
hooked up you can look at the timing diagram on the panel datasheet
and insert a delay for the maximum amount of time that the HPD might
take to come up.

Let's add a property in the device tree for this concept.

bindings.

To retain backward compatibility with DT that don't specify the
clock-names property, the functional clock must always be specified
first, and the clock-names property is optional when only the functional
clock is specified.

R-Car DU changes for v4.20

The pull request mostly contains updates to the R-Car DU driver, notably
support for interlaced modes on Gen3 hardware, support for the LVDS output on
R8A77980, and a set of miscellaneous bug fixes. There are also two SPDX
conversion patches for the drm shmobile and panel-lvds drivers, as well as an
update to MAINTAINERS to add Kieran Bingham as a co-maintainer for the DU
driver.

With bus-type/bus-width properties in the endpoint nodes, the video-
interface of the connection can be specified for cases where the
heuristic fails to select the correct output mode. This can happen
e.g. if not all RGB pins are routed on the PCB; the driver has no
way of knowing this, and needs to be told explicitly.

This is critical for the devices that have the "conflicting output
formats" issue (SAM9N12, SAM9X5, SAMA5D3), since the most significant
RGB bits move around depending on the selected output mode. For
devices that do not have the "conflicting output formats" issue
(SAMA5D2, SAMA5D4), this is completely irrelevant.

f8f15c34ac Merge tag 'drm-msm-next-2018-07-30' of git://people.freedesktop.org/~robclark/linux into drm-next
A bit larger this time around, due to introduction of "dpu1" support
for the display controller in sdm845 and beyond. This has been on
list and undergoing refactoring since Feb (going from ~110kloc to
~30kloc), and all my review complaints have been addressed, so I'd be
happy to see this upstream so further feature work can procede on top
of upstream.

Also includes the gpu coredump support, which should be useful for
debugging gpu crashes. And various other misc fixes and such.

791d3ef2e1 dt-bindings: remove 'interrupt-parent' from bindings
'interrupt-parent' is often documented as part of define bindings, but
it is really outside the scope of a device binding. It's never required
in a given node as it is often inherited from a parent node. Or it can
be implicit if a parent node is an 'interrupt-controller' node. So
remove it from all the binding files.

7b59d2d8d7 dt-bindings: new binding for Ilitek ILI9341 display panels
This adds a new binding for Ilitek ILI9341 display panels. It includes
a compatible string for one display (more can be added in the future).

The YX240QV29-T panel[1] is found, for example, in an Adafruit breakout
board[2] and in Mindsensors' PiStorms[3].

The vendor prefix "adafruit" is used because the actual vendor is not
known, but Adafruit is the most common source for a product that
contains this panel.
