95b0ddfd21 arm64: dts: msm8916: thermal: split address space into two
We've earlier added support to split the register address space into TM
and SROT regions. Split up the regmap address space into two for msm8916
that has a similar register layout.

Since tsens-common.c/init_common() currently only registers one address
space, the order is important (TM before SROT). This is OK since the
code doesn't really use the SROT functionality yet.

1b9d8bd693 arm64: dts: qcom: pm8998: Add pm8998 thermal zone
The thermal zone uses spmi-temp-alarm as sensor, the trip points
correspond to the PMIC thermal stages 1 and 2. The critical trip
point at 125°C disables the partial PMIC shutdown at stage 2.

Without an IIO input the sensor only reports a limited number of
temperatures:

- 37°C for temperatures below 105°C
- 107°C for temperatures >= 105°C and < 125°C
- 127°C for temperatures >= 125°C

(the numbers correspond to a stage 1 threshold of 105°C)

cfe10d38aa arm64: dts: qcom: sdm845-mtp: Add nodes for USB
Set the various nodes to "okay" and hook up the regulators.

NOTE: For now the main USB port (the one that goes out the Type C
connector) is forced to host. Eventually someone will need to get the
Type C detection hooked up and get this all integrated with the
PMI8998 PMIC. The reason for forcing to "host" in the meantime is
that this will leave us with one "host" and one "peripheral" port.

In order for host mode this to work, we assume that the bootloader
left things configured enough for us. Apparently the magic for that
is is to do these writes on pmi8998:
- pm_comm_write_byte(2, 0x1153, 0x2C, 0);
- pm_comm_write_byte(2, 0x1152, 0x07, 0);
- pm_comm_write_byte(2, 0x1140, 0x00, 0);
- pm_comm_write_byte(2, 0x1140, 0x01, 0);

d6c40ccf05 arm64: dts: qcom: sdm845-mtp: Add RPMh VRM/XOB regulators
Add regulator devices for PMIC regulators managed via VRM and XOB
RPMh accelerators.

A few notes here:
- Regulators are added directly to the board file. While it's true
that this will mean a bunch of copy/pasting for other boards that
are very similar, this is probably the right call since boards
could make changes to the way these regulators are hooked up and
trying to find a way to avoid duplication will result in some
  confusing node overrides.
- Regulators that are hooked up to supply pins on the SoC are given
an alias matching the name of that pin (pin name comes from the
  Qualcomm SoC "device specification" doc).
- Other regulator labels are based on the schematic. If there is
more than one logical name on the schematic for the same rail the
secondary names are also listed and should be referred to as
  appropriate.
- Regulators all default to HPM mode w/ no ability to switch modes.
Future patches can switch things to LPM and possibly add
dynamic load switching if we have determined there's a benefit.
This should only be done for rails where we'll actually be able
to take advantage of the lower power modes so we don't need to
churn with lots of patches adding regulator_set_load() calls
  to drivers.

NOTE: This patch is loosely based on one originally shared to me by
David Collins.

f35c11b03b arm64: dts: msm8996: thermal: Initialise via DT and add second controller
We also split up the regmap address space into two, for the TM and SROT
registers. This was required to deal with different address offsets for the
TM and SROT registers across different SoC families.

8996 has two TSENS IP blocks, initialise the second one too.

Since tsens-common.c/init_common() currently only registers one address
space, the order is important (TM before SROT). This is OK since the code

currently doesn't have any peripherals under qupv3_id_0. If any board

897cf34e73 arm64: dts: qcom: sdm845: Add I2C, SPI, and UART9 nodes
This adds nodes to SDM845-dtsi for all the I2C ports, all the SPI
ports, and UART9. Note that I2C / SPI / UART are a bit strange on
sdm845 because each "serial engine" has 4 pins associated with it and
depending on which firmware has been loaded into the serial engine
(loaded by the BIOS) the serial engine can behave like an I2C port, a
SPI port, or a UART. As per the landed bindings that means that we
need to create one node for each possible mode that the port could be
in. With 16 serial engines that means 16 x 3 = 48 nodes.

We get away with only creating 33 nodes for now because it seems very
likely that SDM845-based boards will actually all use the same UART
(UART 9) for debug purposes. While another UART could be used for
something like Bluetooth communication we can cross that path when we
come to it. Some documentation that I saw implied that using a UART
for "high speed" communications actually needs yet another different
serial engine firmware anyway.

Note that quick measurements adding all these nodes adds <10k of extra
space per dtb that they're included with. If this becomes a problem
we may need to think of a different way to structure this so that
boards only get the nodes they need (or figure out how to get dtc to
strip 'disabled' nodes). For now it seems OK.

These nodes were programmatically generated with a fairly dumb python
script. See http://crosreview.com/1091631 for the source.

NOTE: at the moment SPI chip select doesn't appear to work in my tests
with the latest posted SPI driver. All testing of SPI with this patch
has been done by hacking SPI to GPIO chip select.

After this change the clock tree in /sys/kernel/debug/clk/clk_summary

that 100% of sdm845 boards will have an external clock at 38.4. It
can always be moved later if necessary.
- We could rename the "xo-board" device tree node to "xo_board" to
achieve the same effect as this patch. Presumably device-tree folks
would rather keep node names using dashes though.
- We could change the RPMh clock driver to use a dash to achieve the
same effect as this patch, but all other clocks in the clock tree
use underscores. It seems silly to change just this one.

9977a8c349 arm64: dts: Remove leading 0x and 0s from bindings notation
Improve the DTS files by removing all the leading "0x" and zeros to fix the
following dtc warnings:

Warning (unit_address_format): Node /XXX unit name should not have leading "0x"

and

Warning (unit_address_format): Node /XXX unit name should not have leading 0s

Converted using the following command:

find . -type f \( -iname *.dts -o -iname *.dtsi \) -exec sed -E -i -e "s/@0x([0-9a-fA-F\.]+)\s?\{/@\L\1 \{/g" -e "s/@0+([0-9a-fA-F\.]+)\s?\{/@\L\1 \{/g" {} +

For simplicity, two sed expressions were used to solve each warnings separately.

To make the regex expression more robust a few other issues were resolved,
namely setting unit-address to lower case, and adding a whitespace before the
the opening curly brace:

https://elinux.org/Device_Tree_Linux#Linux_conventions

7e7962dd1a kbuild: handle dtb-y and CONFIG_OF_ALL_DTBS natively in Makefile.lib
If CONFIG_OF_ALL_DTBS is enabled, "make ARCH=arm64 dtbs" compiles each
DTB twice; one from arch/arm64/boot/dts/*/Makefile and the other from
the dtb-$(CONFIG_OF_ALL_DTBS) line in arch/arm64/boot/dts/Makefile.
It could be a race problem when building DTBS in parallel.

Another minor issue is CONFIG_OF_ALL_DTBS covers only *.dts in vendor
sub-directories, so this broke when Broadcom added one more hierarchy
in arch/arm64/boot/dts/broadcom/<soc>/.

One idea to fix the issues in a clean way is to move DTB handling
to Kbuild core scripts. Makefile.dtbinst already recognizes dtb-y
natively, so it should not hurt to do so.

Add $(dtb-y) to extra-y, and $(dtb-) as well if CONFIG_OF_ALL_DTBS is
enabled. All clutter things in Makefiles go away.

As a bonus clean-up, I also removed dts-dirs. Just use subdir-y
directly to traverse sub-directories.

Greg Kroah-Hartman
b24413180f License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license
Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.

By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.

Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.

This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.

How this work was done:

Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
 - file had no licensing information it it.
 - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
 - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,

Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.

The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.

The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
 - Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
 - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
   lines of source
 - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
   lines).

All documentation files were explicitly excluded.

The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
identifiers to apply.

 - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
   COPYING file license applied.

For non */uapi/* files that summary was:

   SPDX license identifier # files
   ---------------------------------------------------|-------
   GPL-2.0 11139

and resulted in the first patch in this series.

If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH
Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". Results of that was:

   SPDX license identifier # files
   ---------------------------------------------------|-------
   GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 930

and resulted in the second patch in this series.

 - if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one
of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if
any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in
it (per prior point). Results summary:

   SPDX license identifier # files
   ---------------------------------------------------|------
   GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 270
   GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 169
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-2-Clause) 21
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 17
   LGPL-2.1+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 15
   GPL-1.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 14
   ((GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 5
   LGPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 4
   LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note 3
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT) 3
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT) 1

and that resulted in the third patch in this series.

 - when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became
   the concluded license(s).

 - when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.

 - In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).

 - When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

 - If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
   in time.

In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The
Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so
they are related.

Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
in about 15000 files.

In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
correct identifier.

Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
version early this week with:
 - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
   license ids and scores
 - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
 - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
   SPDX license was correct

This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.

These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

2691cb4e42 arm64: dts: qcom: Force host mode for USB on apq8016-sbc
Commit ed75d6a969 ("arm64: dts: qcom: Collapse usb support into
one node") breaks host mode support on apq8016-sbc boards. This
is because the mux driver (tc7usb40mu) hasn't been merged.
Without that driver, we can't toggle the GPIO going to the mux to
route out the D+/D- lines to the USB hub that's on the board.

One solution would be to totally revert this change, but that
opens us up to other problems when two USB drivers are operating
the same hardware block at the same time. Let's modify the DT so
that the USB controller is always in host mode and connected to
the hub so that things like USB keyboards and mouses work. This
is the mode that most people prefer anyway with these devices. We
also delete the usb-switch node because the binding was never
accepted upstream.

In the future, we can add muxing support and then update the DT
to support both modes at runtime. Patches to support this are
already on the mailing list.

a9ceea2674 ARM: 64-bit DT updates
Device-tree updates for arm64 platforms. For the first time I can
remember, this is actually larger than the corresponding branch for
32-bit platforms overall, though that has more individual changes.

A significant portion this time is due to added machine support:

 - Initial support for the Realtek RTD1295 SoC, along with the Zidoo
   X9S set-top-box

 - Initial support for Actions Semi S900 and the Bubblegum-96
   single-board-cёmputer.

 - Rockchips support for the rk3399-Firefly single-board-computer
gets added, this one stands out for being relatively fast,
affordable and well₋supported, compared to many boards that
only fall into one or two of the above categories.

 - Mediatek gains support for the mt6797 mobile-phone SoC platform
   and corresponding evaluation board.

 - Amlogic board support gets added for the NanoPi K2 and S905x
LibreTech CC single-board computers and the R-Box Pro set-top-box

 - Allwinner board support gets added for the OrangePi Win,
Orangepi Zero Plus 2, NanoPi NEO2 and Orange Pi Prime single
board computers and the SoPine system-on-module.

 - Renesas board support for Salvator-XS and H3ULCB
   automotive development systems.

 - Socionext Uniphier board support for LD11-global and LD20-global,
   whatever those may be.

 - Broadcom adds support for the new Stingray communication processor
in its iProc family, along with two reference boards.

 Other updates include:

 - For the hisicon platform, support for Hi3660-Hikey960 gets
   extended significantly.

 - Lots of smaller updates for Renesas, Amlogic, Rockchip, UniPhier,
Broadcom, Allwinner, Hisilicon, Qualcomm, Marvell, and NXP.

a402a354dc arm64: dts: qcom: msm8916: Use fixed factor xo clock
The rpmcc driver is providing the XO clock, which is the parent of almost
all clocks. But during boot, this driver may probe later and leave most of
the clocks without parent. The common clock framework currently reports
invalid rate for orphan clocks and this may confuse drivers.

To resolve this, use fixed clocks registration until we have some support
to deal with the this issue. Removing the generic rpmcc compatible is
enough to switch back to fixed factor XO clock.

0f6625fd00 arm64: dts: qcom: Fix broken interrupt trigger settings
When a device uses the GIC as its interrupt controller and generates
SPIs, only the values 1 (edge rising) and 4 (level high) are legal.

Anything else is just plain wrong (can't be programmed into the HW),
and leads to aborted driver probes (USB doesn't work with 4.8-rc1
on a Dragonboard 410C).
