1GbE Intel Wired LAN Driver Updates 2019-10-21

This series contains updates to e1000e and igc only.

Sasha adds stream control transmission protocol (SCTP) CRC checksum
support for igc. Also added S0ix support to the e1000e driver. Then
added multicast support by adding the address list to the MTA table and
providing the option for IPv6 address for igc. In addition, added
receive checksum support to igc as well. Lastly, cleaned up some code
that was not fully implemented yet for the VLAN filter table array.

v2: Dropped patch 1 & 2 from the original series. Patch 1 is being sent
    to 'net' tree as a fix and patch 2 implementation needs to be
    re-worked. Updated the patch to add support for S0ix to fix the
    reverse Xmas tree issues and made the entry/exit functions void
    since they constantly returned success. All based on community
    feedback.
v3: Cleaned up patch 4 of the series based on feedback from the
    community. Cleaned up a stray comma in a code comment and removed
    the 'inline' of a function that would be inlined by the compiler
    anyways.

8dc9a0888f net: mvneta: rely on build_skb in mvneta_rx_swbm poll routine
Refactor mvneta_rx_swbm code introducing mvneta_swbm_rx_frame and
mvneta_swbm_add_rx_fragment routines. Rely on build_skb in oreder to
allocate skb since the previous patch introduced buffer recycling using
the page_pool API.
This patch fixes even an issue in the original driver where dma buffers
are accessed before dma sync.
mvneta driver can run on not cache coherent devices so it is
necessary to sync DMA buffers before sending them to the device
in order to avoid memory corruptions. Running perf analysis we can
see a performance cost associated with this DMA-sync (anyway it is
already there in the original driver code). In follow up patches we
will add more logic to reduce DMA-sync as much as possible.

568a3fa24a net: mvneta: introduce page pool API for sw buffer manager
Use the page_pool api for allocations and DMA handling instead of
__dev_alloc_page()/dma_map_page() and free_page()/dma_unmap_page().
Pages are unmapped using page_pool_release_page before packets
go into the network stack.

The page_pool API offers buffer recycling capabilities for XDP but
allocates one page per packet, unless the driver splits and manages
the allocated page.

d35bced88f net: hns3: minor cleanup for hns3_handle_rx_bd()
Since commit e559709505 ("net: hns3: Add handling of GRO Pkts

bd310aca44 macb: propagate errors when getting optional clocks
The tx_clk, rx_clk, and tsu_clk are optional. Currently the macb driver
marks clock as not available if it receives an error when trying to get
a clock. This is wrong, because a clock controller might return
-EPROBE_DEFER if a clock is not available, but will eventually become
available.

In these cases, the driver would probe successfully but will never be
able to adjust the clocks, because the clocks were not available during
probe, but became available later.

For example, the clock controller for the ZynqMP is implemented in the
PMU firmware and the clocks are only available after the firmware driver
has been probed.

Use devm_clk_get_optional() in instead of devm_clk_get() to get the
optional clock and propagate all errors to the calling function.

3503bf024b net: lpc_eth: parse phy nodes from device tree
When connected to a micrel phy, phy_find_first doesn't work properly
because the first phy found is on address 0, the broadcast address but, the
first thing the phy driver is doing is disabling this broadcast address.
The phy is then available only on address 1 but the mdio driver doesn't
know about it.

Instead, register the mdio bus using of_mdiobus_register and try to find
the phy description in device tree before falling back to phy_find_first.

This ultimately also allows to describe the interrupt the phy is connected

Once the kTLS TX resync function is called, it used to return
a binary value, for success or failure.

However, in case the TLS SKB is a retransmission of the connection
handshake, it initiates the resync flow (as the tcp seq check holds),
while regular packet handle is expected.

In this patch, we identify this case and skip the resync operation
accordingly.

Counters:
- Add a counter (tls_skip_no_sync_data) to monitor this.
- Bump the dump counters up as they are used more frequently.
- Add a missing counter descriptor declaration for tls_resync_bytes
  in sq_stats_desc.

25382b991d net: bcmgenet: reset 40nm EPHY on energy detect
The EPHY integrated into the 40nm Set-Top Box devices can falsely
detect energy when connected to a disabled peer interface. When the
peer interface is enabled the EPHY will detect and report the link
as active, but on occasion may get into a state where it is not
able to exchange data with the connected GENET MAC. This issue has
not been observed when the link parameters are auto-negotiated;
however, it has been observed with a manually configured link.

It has been empirically determined that issuing a soft reset to the
EPHY when energy is detected prevents it from getting into this bad
state.

1f51548627 net: bcmgenet: soft reset 40nm EPHYs before MAC init
It turns out that the "Workaround for putting the PHY in IDDQ mode"
used by the internal EPHYs on 40nm Set-Top Box chips when powering
down puts the interface to the GENET MAC in a state that can cause
subsequent MAC resets to be incomplete.

Rather than restore the forced soft reset when powering up internal
PHYs, this commit moves the invocation of phy_init_hw earlier in
the MAC initialization sequence to just before the MAC reset in the
open and resume functions. This allows the interface to be stable
and allows the MAC resets to be successful.

The bcmgenet_mii_probe() function is split in two to accommodate
this. The new function bcmgenet_mii_connect() handles the first
half of the functionality before the MAC initialization, and the
bcmgenet_mii_config() function is extended to provide the remaining
PHY configuration following the MAC initialization.

The current initialization value requires 17 chars to fit also the

- Change the name of ena_calc_io_queue_num() to

  by ethtool -L which is implemented in a later commit.

- Change variable name from io_queue_num to max_num_io_queues in

Currently mlxsw distributes sent traffic among all the available send
queues. That includes control traffic as well as EMADs, which are used for
configuration of the device.

However because all the queues have the same traffic class of 3, they all
end up being directed to the same traffic class buffer. If the control
traffic in the buffer cannot be serviced quickly enough, the EMAD traffic
might be shut out, which causes transient failures, typically in FDB
maintenance, counter upkeep and other periodic work.

To address this issue, dedicate SDQ 0 to EMAD traffic, with TC 0.

979b9b251a mlxsw: spectrum: Clear VLAN filters during port initialization
When a port is created, its VLAN filters are not cleared by the
firmware. This causes tagged packets to be later dropped by the ingress
STP filters, which default to DISCARD state.

The above did not matter much until commit b5ce611fd9 ("mlxsw:
spectrum: Add devlink-trap support") where we exposed the drop reason to
users.

Without this patch, the drop reason users will see is not consistent. If
a port is enslaved to a VLAN-aware bridge and a packet with an invalid
VLAN tries to ingress the bridge, it will be dropped due to ingress STP
filter. If the VLAN is later enabled and then disabled, the packet will
be dropped by the ingress VLAN filter despite the above being a
seemingly NOP operation.

Fix this by clearing all the VLAN filters during port initialization.
Adjust the test accordingly.

b27507bb59 net/ibmvnic: unlock rtnl_lock in reset so linkwatch_event can run
Commit a5681e20b5 ("net/ibmnvic: Fix deadlock problem in reset")
made the change to hold the RTNL lock during a reset to avoid deadlock
but linkwatch_event is fired during the reset and needs the RTNL lock.
That keeps linkwatch_event process from proceeding until the reset
is complete. The reset process cannot tolerate the linkwatch_event
processing after reset completes, so release the RTNL lock during the
process to allow a chance for linkwatch_event to run during reset.
This does not guarantee that the linkwatch_event will be processed as
soon as link state changes, but is an improvement over the current code
where linkwatch_event processing is always delayed, which prevents
transmissions on the device from being deactivated leading transmit
watchdog timer to time-out.

Release the RTNL lock before link state change and re-acquire after
the link state change to allow linkwatch_event to grab the RTNL lock
and run during the reset.

fe1587a7de net/mlx5e: Fix matching on tunnel addresses type
In mlx5 parse_tunnel_attr() function dispatch on encap IP address type
is performed by directly checking flow_rule_match_key() on
FLOW_DISSECTOR_KEY_ENC_IPV4_ADDRS, and then on
FLOW_DISSECTOR_KEY_ENC_IPV6_ADDRS. However, since those are stored in
union, first check is always true if any type of encap address is set,
which leads to IPv6 tunnel encap address being parsed as IPv4 by mlx5.
Determine correct IP address type by checking control key first and if
it set, take address type from match.key->addr_type.

dd0f9d896d ibmvnic: Warn unknown speed message only when carrier is present
With commit 0655f9943d ("net/ibmvnic: Update carrier state after link
state change") we are now able to detect when the carrier is properly
present in the device, so only report an unexpected unknown speed when it
is properly detected. Unknown speed is expected to be seen by the device
in case the backing device has no link detected.

Pull LED updates from Jacek Anaszewski:
 "In this cycle we've finally managed to contribute the patch set
  sorting out LED naming issues. Besides that there are many changes
  scattered among various LED class drivers and triggers.

  LED naming related improvements:

   - add new 'function' and 'color' fwnode properties and deprecate
     'label' property which has been frequently abused for conveying
     vendor specific names that have been available in sysfs anyway

   - introduce a set of standard LED_FUNCTION* definitions

   - introduce a set of standard LED_COLOR_ID* definitions

   - add a new {devm_}led_classdev_register_ext() API with the
     capability of automatic LED name composition basing on the
     properties available in the passed fwnode; the function is
     backwards compatible in a sense that it uses 'label' data, if
     present in the fwnode, for creating LED name

   - add tools/leds/get_led_device_info.sh script for retrieving LED
     vendor, product and bus names, if applicable; it also performs
     basic validation of an LED name

   - update following drivers and their DT bindings to use the new LED
     registration API:

        - leds-an30259a, leds-gpio, leds-as3645a, leds-aat1290, leds-cr0014114,
          leds-lm3601x, leds-lm3692x, leds-lp8860, leds-lt3593, leds-sc27xx-blt

  Other LED class improvements:

   - replace {devm_}led_classdev_register() macros with inlines

   - allow to call led_classdev_unregister() unconditionally

   - switch to use fwnode instead of be stuck with OF one

  LED triggers improvements:

   - led-triggers:
        - fix dereferencing of null pointer
        - fix a memory leak bug

   - ledtrig-gpio:
        - GPIO 0 is valid

  Drop superseeded apu2/3 support from leds-apu since for apu2+ a newer,
  more complete driver exists, based on a generic driver for the AMD
  SOCs gpio-controller, supporting LEDs as well other devices:

   - drop profile field from priv data

   - drop iosize field from priv data

   - drop enum_apu_led_platform_types

   - drop superseeded apu2/3 led support

   - add pr_fmt prefix for better log output

   - fix error message on probing failure

  Other misc fixes and improvements to existing LED class drivers:

   - leds-ns2, leds-max77650:
        - add of_node_put() before return

   - leds-pwm, leds-is31fl32xx:
        - use struct_size() helper

   - leds-lm3697, leds-lm36274, leds-lm3532:
        - switch to use fwnode_property_count_uXX()

   - leds-lm3532:
        - fix brightness control for i2c mode
        - change the define for the fs current register
        - fixes for the driver for stability
        - add full scale current configuration
        - dt: Add property for full scale current.
        - avoid potentially unpaired regulator calls
        - move static keyword to the front of declarations
        - fix optional led-max-microamp prop error handling

   - leds-max77650:
        - add of_node_put() before return
        - add MODULE_ALIAS()
        - Switch to fwnode property API

   - leds-as3645a:
        - fix misuse of strlcpy

   - leds-netxbig:
        - add of_node_put() in netxbig_leds_get_of_pdata()
        - remove legacy board-file support

   - leds-is31fl319x:
        - simplify getting the adapter of a client

   - leds-ti-lmu-common:
        - fix coccinelle issue

   - leds-syscon:

 - The Samsung Exynos family gains a new Chipid driver
   exporting using the soc device sysfs interface

 - A similar socinfo driver for Qualcomm Snapdragon
   chips.

 - A firmware driver for the NXP i.MX DSP IPC protocol
   using shared memory and a mailbox

 Other changes:

 - The i.MX reset controller driver now supports the
   NXP i.MX8MM chip

2b97c39514 ARM: SoC platform updates for v5.4
The main change this time around is a cleanup of some of the oldest
 platforms based on the XScale and ARM9 CPU cores, which are between 10
 and 20 years old.

 The Kendin/Micrel/Microchip KS8695, Winbond/Nuvoton W90x900 and Intel
 IOP33x/IOP13xx platforms are removed after we determined that nobody is
 using them any more.

 The TI Davinci and NXP LPC32xx platforms on the other hand are still in
 active use and are converted to the ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM build, meaning
 that we can compile a kernel that works on these along with most other
 ARMv5 platforms. Changes toward that goal are also merged for IOP32x,
 but additional work is needed to complete this. Patches for the
 remaining ARMv5 platforms have started but need more work and some
 testing.

 Support for the new ASpeed AST2600 gets added, this is based on the
 Cortex-A7 ARMv7 core, and is a newer version of the existing ARMv5 and
 ARMv6 chips in the same family.

 Other changes include a cleanup of the ST-Ericsson ux500 platform
 and the move of the TI Davinci platform to a new clocksource driver.

79226cea4a net: ena: fix incorrect update of intr_delay_resolution
ena_dev->intr_moder_rx/tx_interval save the intervals received from the
user after dividing them by ena_dev->intr_delay_resolution. Therefore
when intr_delay_resolution changes, the code needs to first mutiply
intr_moder_rx/tx_interval by the previous intr_delay_resolution to get
the value originally given by the user, and only then divide it by the
new intr_delay_resolution.

Current code does not first multiply intr_moder_rx/tx_interval by the old
intr_delay_resolution. This commit fixes it.

Also initialize ena_dev->intr_delay_resolution to be 1.

0eda847953 net: ena: fix retrieval of nonadaptive interrupt moderation intervals
Nonadaptive interrupt moderation intervals are assigned the value set
by the user in ethtool -C divided by ena_dev->intr_delay_resolution.

Therefore when the user tries to get the nonadaptive interrupt moderation
intervals with ethtool -c the code needs to multiply the saved value
by ena_dev->intr_delay_resolution.

The current code erroneously divides instead of multiplying in ethtool -c.
This patch fixes this.

a53651ec93 net: ena: don't wake up tx queue when down
There is a race condition that can occur when calling ena_down().
The ena_clean_tx_irq() - which is a part of the napi handler -
function might wake up the tx queue when the queue is supposed
to be down (during recovery or changing the size of the queues
for example) This causes the ena_start_xmit() function to trigger
and possibly try to access the destroyed queues.

The race is illustrated below:

Flow A:                                       Flow B(napi handler)
ena_down()
   netif_carrier_off()
   netif_tx_disable()
                                                      ena_clean_tx_irq()
                                                         netif_tx_wake_queue()
   ena_napi_disable_all()
   ena_destroy_all_io_queues()

After these flows the tx queue is active and ena_start_xmit() accesses
the destroyed queue which leads to a kernel panic.

100GbE Intel Wired LAN Driver Updates 2019-09-12

This series contains updates to ice driver to implement and support

Paul updates the way the driver version is stored in the driver so that
we can pass the driver version to the firmware. Passing of the driver
version to the firmware is needed for the DDP package to ensure we have
the appropriate support in the driver for the features in the package.

Lukasz fixes how the firmware version is stored to align with how the
firmware stores its own version. Also extended the log message to
display additional useful information such as NVM version, API patch
information and firmware build hash.

Tony adds the needed driver support to check, load and store the DDP

for specific hardware devices, as well as what to do when loading of the
DDP package fails to load.

Intel Wired LAN Driver Updates 2019-09-11

This series contains updates to i40e, ixgbe/vf and iavf.

Stefan Assmann fixes a potential kernel panic found when repeatedly
spawning and destroying VFs in i40e when a NULL pointer is dereferenced
due to a race condition. Fixed up the i40e driver to clear the
__I40E_VIRTCHNL_OP_PENDING bit before returning after an invalid
minimum transmit rate is requested. Updates the iavf driver to only
apply the MAC address change when the PF ACK's the requested change.

Tonghao Zhang updates ixgbe to use the skb_get_queue_mapping() API call
instead of the driver accessing the queue mapping directly.

Jake updates i40e to use ktime_get_real_ts64() instead of
ktime_to_timespec64(). Removes the define for bit 0x0001 for cloud
filters, since it is a reserved bit and not a valid type. Also added
code comments to clearly state which bits are reserved and should not be
used or defined for cloud filter adminq command. Clarify the macros
used to specify the cloud filter fields are individual bits, so use the
BIT() macro.

Aleksandr fixes up the print_link_message() to include the "negotiated"
FEC status for i40e.

Czeslaw also adds additional log message for devices without FEC in the
print_link_message() for i40e.

Colin Ian King reduces the object code size by making the array API
static constant.

Magnus fixes a potential receive buffer starvation issue for AF_XDP by
kicking the NAPI context of any queue with an attached AF_XDP zero-copy
socket.

v2: Removed patch 11 from the original series (Alex Duyck's ITR fix),

421bceb270 nfp: read chip model from the PluDevice register
The PluDevice register provides the authoritative chip model/revision.

Since the model number is purely used for reporting purposes, follow
the hardware team convention of subtracting 0x10 from the PluDevice
register to obtain the chip model/revision number.

bf280c0387 ixgbe: fix double clean of Tx descriptors with xdp
Tx code doesn't clear the descriptors' status after cleaning.
So, if the budget is larger than number of used elems in a ring, some
descriptors will be accounted twice and xsk_umem_complete_tx will move
prod_tail far beyond the prod_head breaking the completion queue ring.

Fix that by limiting the number of descriptors to clean by the number
of used descriptors in the Tx ring.

'ixgbe_clean_xdp_tx_irq()' function refactored to look more like
'ixgbe_xsk_clean_tx_ring()' since we're allowed to directly use
'next_to_clean' and 'next_to_use' indexes.

377228accb ixgbe: Prevent u8 wrapping of ITR value to something less than 10us
There were a couple cases where the ITR value generated via the adaptive
ITR scheme could exceed 126. This resulted in the value becoming either 0
or something less than 10. Switching back and forth between a value less
than 10 and a value greater than 10 can cause issues as certain hardware
features such as RSC to not function well when the ITR value has dropped
that low.

1f459bdc20 i40e: fix potential RX buffer starvation for AF_XDP
When the RX rings are created they are also populated with buffers
so that packets can be received. Usually these are kernel buffers,
but for AF_XDP in zero-copy mode, these are user-space buffers and
in this case the application might not have sent down any buffers
to the driver at this point. And if no buffers are allocated at ring
creation time, no packets can be received and no interrupts will be
generated so the NAPI poll function that allocates buffers to the
rings will never get executed.

To rectify this, we kick the NAPI context of any queue with an
attached AF_XDP zero-copy socket in two places in the code. Once
after an XDP program has loaded and once after the umem is registered.
This take care of both cases: XDP program gets loaded first then AF_XDP
socket is created, and the reverse, AF_XDP socket is created first,
then XDP program is loaded.

c5c922b3e0 iavf: fix MAC address setting for VFs when filter is rejected
Currently iavf unconditionally applies MAC address change requests. This
brings the VF in a state where it is no longer able to pass traffic if
the PF rejects a MAC filter change for the VF.
A typical scenario for a rejected MAC filter is for an untrusted VF to
request to change the MAC address when an administratively set MAC is
present.

To keep iavf working in this scenario the MAC filter handling in iavf
needs to act on the PF reply regarding the MAC filter change. In the
case of an ack the new MAC address gets set, whereas in the case of a
nack the previous MAC address needs to stay in place.
