09d1c7b4ba ARM: shmobile: r8a7740 dtsi: Add missing "gpio-ranges" to gpio node
If a GPIO driver uses gpiochip_add_pin_range() (which is usually the
case for GPIO/PFC combos), the GPIO hogging mechanism configured from DT
doesn't work:

    requesting hog GPIO lcd0 (chip r8a7740_pfc, offset 176) failed

The actual error code is -517 == -EPROBE_DEFER.

The problem is that PFC+GPIO registration is handled in multiple steps:
  1. pinctrl_register(),
  2. gpiochip_add(),
  3. gpiochip_add_pin_range().

Configuration of the hogs is handled in gpiochip_add():

    gpiochip_add
        of_gpiochip_add
            of_gpiochip_scan_hogs
                gpiod_hog
                    gpiochip_request_own_desc
                        __gpiod_request
                            chip->request
                                pinctrl_request_gpio
                                    pinctrl_get_device_gpio_range

However, at this point the GPIO controller hasn't been added to
pinctrldev_list yet, so the range can't be found, and the operation fails
with -EPROBE_DEFER.

To fix this, add a "gpio-ranges" property to the gpio device node, so
the range is added by of_gpiochip_add_pin_range(), which is called by
of_gpiochip_add() before the call to of_gpiochip_scan_hogs().

f4c6d004ea ARM: shmobile: r8a7740 dtsi: Add memory-controller node
Add a device node for the DDR3 Bus State Controller (DBSC3).
The DBSC3 is located in the A4S PM domain, which must not be powered
down, else the system will crash.

This has no visible effect for now, as A4S was never turned off anyway
because its child PM domain A3SM contains the CPU core.

Hook up all devices to their respective PM domains.

6da314122d ARM: SoC DT updates for 3.19
The DT branch adds a lot of new stuff for additional SoC and board
 support. The branch is the largest one and contains 513 out of the
 total 972 non-merge arm-soc changesets for 3.19.

 Most of the changes are about enabling additional on-chip devices for
 existing machines, but there are also an unusual number of new SoC
 types being added this time:

 * AMLogic Meson8
 * ARM Realview in DT mode
 * Allwinner A80

b89ff7c3c2 ARM: shmobile: r8a7740 dtsi: Correct IIC0 parent clock
According to the datasheet, the operating clock for IIC0 is the HPP
(RT Peri) clock, not the SUB (Peri) clock. Both clocks run at the same
speed (50 Mhz).

This is consistent with IIC0 being located in the A4R PM domain, and
IIC1 in the A3SP PM domain.

a2ffcf87f5 ARM: shmobile: r8a7740: Use SoC-specific 48-bit CMT compat string
In general Renesas hardware is not documented to the extent
where the relationship between IP blocks on different SoCs can be assumed
although they may appear to operate the same way. Furthermore the
documentation typically does not specify a version for individual
IP blocks. For these reasons a convention of using the SoC name in place
of a version and providing SoC-specific compat strings has been adopted.

Although not universally liked this convention is used in the bindings for
a number of drivers for Renesas hardware. The purpose of this patch is to
make use of the SoC-specific CMT compat string for the r8a7740 48-bit CMT
clock source.

Linus Torvalds
fa91515cbf ARM: Renesas SoC cleanup, refactoring and more SMP support
Lots of cleanup and refactoring and some SMP additions for Renesas
 platforms. Due to some inter-dependencies with other arm-soc
 branches, this Renesas stuff was separated out for sending after the
 other branches were merged.

 Highlights:
 - remove unused board support and cleanup of unused headers
 - refactoring of init and device registration
 - simplify IRQ initialization

 Conflicts: Too many. Most of these are because Simon chose to send
 some board updates through the V4L tree that ends up colliding with
 the main platform changes. We'll work with him on sorting out his
 workflow:

 - arch/arm/boot/dts/r8a7740.dtsi:
   - Add/add conflict in a devicetree file (keep both)

 - arch/arm/mach-shmobile/Makefile:
   - Splitting out of clock files collides with intc move to DT.
     Keep HEAD version but remove intc-* files for R8A7740 and R8A7779.

 - arch/arm/mach-shmobile/board-bockw.c:
   - Keep HEAD but remove i2c, hspi and mmc device init calls

 - arch/arm/mach-shmobile/board-marzen.c
   - Remove mach/hardware.h include and r8a7779_add_usb_phy_device() call,
     everything else stays.

 - arch/arm/mach-shmobile/include/mach/r8a7778.h:
   - From HEAD, Keep camera-rcar.h include and r8a7778_add_vin_device()
   - From branch, keep everything

 - arch/arm/mach-shmobile/include/mach/r8a7779.h:
   - From HEAD, Keep only camera-rcar.h include and r8a7779_add_vin_device()

 - arch/arm/mach-shmobile/setup-r8a7778.c
   - Keep HEAD, but drop the MMC section (struct resource + add_mmc_device())
   - take the new function name from our side (r8a7778_add_dt_devices())

 - arch/arm/mach-shmobile/setup-r8a7779.c
   - Keep HEAD, but drop r8a7779_add_usb_phy_device()

 I've also pushed a test-merge2 branch where you can see how I resolved
 them.

744fdc8dc0 ARM: shmobile: r8a7740: Prepare for reference DT setup
We need three steps to prepare for the new Armadillo reference DT board code:
 - Split the device list into r8a7740_early_devices used by the old platform
   data setup (board-armadillo.c) and r8a7740_devices_dt used by both
   setup variants.
 - Introduce new r8a7740_init_delay() to be more flexible about calling
   shmobile_setup_delay().
 - For the generic r8a7740 support, we switch to device tree setup for
   the GIC, the irqpin devices and the I2C controllers.

This is slightly similar to commit 3b00f93426

755d57b222 ARM: mach-shmobile: r8a7740 generic board support via DT
Add generic DT board support for the r8a7740 SoC.

SCIF serial ports and timers are kept as regular
platform devices. Other on-chip and on-board devices
should be configured via the device tree.

At this point there is no interrupt controller support
in place but such code will be added over time when
proper IRQ domain support has been added to INTC.
