b2ae318acd drm/i915: Rename HAS_GMCH
First of all GMCH can be considered a feature by itself
since it is a chip present in some platforms that connects
the IA processor to memory and other components in PC.

Also with the introduction of display block at device info,
we got a redundant definition:

.display.has_gmch_display = 1,

So, let's clean up things a bit and use the standardized
way of has_feature on displays side.

No functional change and no manual interaction to generate
this patch.

It is only:

sed -si -e 's/has_gmch_display/has_gmch/g' \
    	-e 's/HAS_GMCH_DISPLAY/HAS_GMCH/g' drivers/gpu/drm/i915/*{c,h}

204474a6b8 drm/i915: Pass down rc in intel_encoder->compute_config()
Something that I completely missed when implementing the new MST VCPI
atomic helpers is that with those helpers, there's technically a chance
of us having to grab additional modeset locks in ->compute_config() and
furthermore, that means we have the potential to hit a normal modeset
deadlock. However, because ->compute_config() only returns a bool this
means we can't return -EDEADLK when we need to drop locks and try again
which means we end up just failing the atomic check permanently. Whoops.

So, fix this by modifying ->compute_config() to pass down an actual
error code instead of a bool so that the atomic check can be restarted
on modeset deadlocks.

Thanks to Ville Syrjälä for pointing this out!

Changes since v1:
* Add some newlines
* Return only -EINVAL from hsw_crt_compute_config()
* Propogate return code from intel_dp_compute_dsc_params()
* Change all of the intel_dp_compute_link_config*() variants
* Don't miss if (hdmi_port_clock_valid()) branch in
  intel_hdmi_compute_config()

[Cherry-picked from drm-misc-next to drm-intel-next-queued to fix
 linux-next & drm-tip conflict, while waiting for proper propagation of
 the DP MST series that this commit fixes. In hindsight, a topic branch
 might have been a better approach for it.]

0e6e0be4c9 drm/i915: Markup paired operations on display power domains
The majority of runtime-pm operations are bounded and scoped within a
function; these are easy to verify that the wakeref are handled
correctly. We can employ the compiler to help us, and reduce the number
of wakerefs tracked when debugging, by passing around cookies provided
by the various rpm_get functions to their rpm_put counterpart. This
makes the pairing explicit, and given the required wakeref cookie the
compiler can verify that we pass an initialised value to the rpm_put
(quite handy for double checking error paths).

47164e0b0d drm/i915/hdmi: Detect HDMI 2.0 monitors using multiple EDID capabilities

EDIDs during CTS tests that don't contain a HDMI Forum VSDB if the block is
not used during the test. The current HDMI AVI infoframe code only uses the
SCDC supported information in the HDMI Forum VSDB to determine if the sink
is HDMI 2.0. This patch adds a check for YCbCr420 present in the EDID
supported formats as well as the existing SCDC supported check.

d9facae6af drm/i915: Introduce CRTC output format
This patch adds an enum "intel_output_format" to represent
the output format of a particular CRTC. This enum will be
used to produce a RGB/YCBCR4:4:4/YCBCR4:2:0 output format
during the atomic modeset calculations.

V5:
- Created this separate patch to introduce and init output_format.
- Initialize parameters of output_format_str respectively (Jani N).
- Call it intel_output_format than crtc_output_format(Ville).
- Set output format in pipe_config for every encoder (Ville).
- Get rid of extra DRM_DEBUG_KMS during get_pipe_config (Ville)

V6: Rebase
V7: Fixed alignment warnings (checkpatch)
V8: Another check[atch warning for alignment
V9: Rebase
V10: Rebase on top of DSI restructure
V11: Addressed review comment from Ville
	- Set CRTC format for pre-HSW get_pipe_config() function too.
     Added Ville's R-B

d4b26e4f43 drm/i915: add a common connector type independent destroy hook
Almost all of the connector destroy functions do the same thing. The
differences are in the edid, detect_edid and panel cleanups, but those
are safely NULL when not initialized. Roll out a common connector
destroy hook.

39d1e234e1 drm/i915/icl: implement the tc/legacy HPD {dis,}connect flows
Unlike the other ports, TC ports are not available to use as soon as
we get a hotplug. The TC PHYs can be shared between multiple
controllers: display, USB, etc. As a result, handshaking through FIA
is required around connect and disconnect to cleanly transfer
ownership with the controller and set the type-C power state.

This patch implements the flow sequences described by our
specification. We opt to grab ownership of the ports as soon as we get
the hotplugs in order to simplify the interactions and avoid surprises
in the user space side. We may consider changing this in the future,
once we improve our testing capabilities on this area.

v2:
 * This unifies the DP and HDMI patches so we can discuss everything
   at once so people looking at random single patches can actually
   understand the direction.
 * I found out the spec was updated a while ago. There's a small
   difference in the connect flow and the patch was updated for that.
 * Our spec also now gives a good explanation on what is really
   happening. As a result, comments were added.
 * Add some more comments as requested by Rodrigo (Rodrigo).
v3:
 * Downgrade a DRM_ERROR that shouldn't ever happen but we can't act
   on in case it does (Chris).

BSpec: 21750, 4250.

541ab84d2b drm/i915: Allow DBLSCAN user modes with eDP/LVDS/DSI
When encountering a connector with the scaling mode property both
intel and modesetting ddxs sometimes add tons of DBLSCAN modes
to the output's mode list. The idea presumably being that since the
output will be going through the panel fitter anyway we can pretend
to use any kind of mode.

Sadly that means we can't reject user modes with the DBLSCAN flag
until we know whether we're going to be using the panel's native
mode or the user mode directly. Doing otherwise means X clients using
xf86vidmode/xrandr will get a protocol error (and often self
terminate as a result) when the kernel refuses to use the requested
mode with the DBLSCAN flag.

To undo the regression we'll move the DBLSCAN checks into the
connector->mode_valid() and encoder->compute_config() hooks.

8fc0aa6eaa drm/i915/ddi: Check transcoder instead of port when setting HDMI infoframe
The only requirement by BSpec for setting the HDMI infoframes is on DDI
platforms to do that before enabling the HDMI transcoder function, see
VIDEO_DIP_CTL bit 16. Accordingly check for the transcoder function
disabled state instead of the port's disabled state on DDI platforms.
This is needed by the next patch as it will set the infoframe during
crtc disabling where the port is still enabled.

Stanislav Lisovskiy
6553b123ea i915: content-type property for HDMI connector
Added encoding of drm content_type property from drm_connector_state
within AVI infoframe in order to properly handle external HDMI TV
content-type setting.

This requires also manipulationg ITC bit, as stated in
HDMI spec.

v2:
 * Moved helper function which attaches content type property
   to the drm core, as was suggested.
   Removed redundant connector state initialization.

v3:
 * Removed caps in drm_content_type_enum_list.
   After some discussion it turned out that HDMI Spec 1.4
   was wrongly assuming that IT Content(itc) bit doesn't affect
   Content type states, however itc bit needs to be manupulated
   as well. In order to not expose additional property for itc,
   for sake of simplicity it was decided to bind those together
   in same "content type" property.

v4:
 * Added it_content checking in intel_digital_connector_atomic_check.
   Fixed documentation for new content type enum.

v5:
 * Moved patch revision's description to commit messages.

v6:
 * Minor naming fix for the content type enumeration string.

v7:
 * Fix parameter name for documentation and parameter alignment
   in order not to get warning. Added Content Type description to
   new HDMI connector properties section.

v8:
 * Thrown away unneeded numbers from HDMI content-type property
   description. Switch to strings desription instead of plain
   definitions.

v9:
 * Moved away hdmi specific content-type enum from
   drm_connector_state. Content type property should probably not
   be bound to any specific connector interface in
   drm_connector_state.
   Same probably should be done to hdmi_picture_aspect_ration enum
   which is also contained in drm_connector_state. Added special
   helper function to get derive hdmi specific relevant infoframe
   fields.

v10:
 * Added usage description to HDMI properties kernel doc.

v11:
 * Created centralized function for filling HDMI AVI infoframe, based
   on correspondent DRM property value.

cf53902f48 drm/i915/cnl: Add HPD support for Port F.
On CNP boards that are using DDI F,
bit 25 (SDE_PORTE_HOTPLUG_SPT) is representing
the Digital Port F hotplug line when the Digital
Port F hotplug detect input is enabled.

v2: Reuse all existent structure instead of adding a
new HPD_PORT_F pointing to pin of port E.
v3: Use IS_CNL_WITH_PORT_F so we can start upstreaming
    this right now. If that SKU ever get a proper name
    we come back and update it.
v4: Rebase on top of digital connected port using encoder
    instead of port.
v5: Moved IS_CNL_WITH_PORT_F definition to the PCI IDs patch.
