968339fad4 powerpc/boot: Delete unneeded .globl _zimage_start
.globl sets the symbol binding to STB_GLOBAL while .weak sets the
binding to STB_WEAK. GNU as let .weak override .globl since
binutils-gdb 5ca547dc2399a0a5d9f20626d4bf5547c3ccfddd (1996). Clang
integrated assembler let the last win but it may error in the future.

Since it is a convention that only one binding directive is used, just
delete .globl.

d42c6d0f8d powerpc/Makefile: Mark phony targets as PHONY
Some of our phony targets are not marked as such. This can lead to
confusing errors, eg:

  $ make clean
  $ touch install
  $ make install
make: 'install' is up to date.
  $

Fix it by adding them to the PHONY variable which is marked phony in
the top-level Makefile, or in scripts/Makefile.build for the boot
Makefile.

5f2fb52fac kbuild: rename hostprogs-y/always to hostprogs/always-y
In old days, the "host-progs" syntax was used for specifying host
programs. It was renamed to the current "hostprogs-y" in 2004.

It is typically useful in scripts/Makefile because it allows Kbuild to
selectively compile host programs based on the kernel configuration.

This commit renames like follows:

  always       ->  always-y
  hostprogs-y  ->  hostprogs

So, scripts/Makefile will look like this:

  always-$(CONFIG_BUILD_BIN2C) += ...
  always-$(CONFIG_KALLSYMS) += ...
      ...
  hostprogs := $(always-y) $(always-m)

I think this makes more sense because a host program is always a host
program, irrespective of the kernel configuration. We want to specify
which ones to compile by CONFIG options, so always-y will be handier.

The "always", "hostprogs-y", "hostprogs-m" will be kept for backward
compatibility for a while.

c3aae14e5d powerpc/44x: Adjust indentation in ibm4xx_denali_fixup_memsize

This is because there is a space at the beginning of this line; remove
it so that the indentation is consistent according to the Linux kernel

a8de1304b7 libfdt: define INT32_MAX and UINT32_MAX in libfdt_env.h
The DTC v1.5.1 added references to (U)INT32_MAX.

This is no problem for user-space programs since <stdint.h> defines
(U)INT32_MAX along with (u)int32_t.

For the kernel space, libfdt_env.h needs to be adjusted before we
pull in the changes.

In the kernel, we usually use s/u32 instead of (u)int32_t for the
fixed-width types.

Accordingly, we already have S/U32_MAX for their max values.
So, we should not add (U)INT32_MAX to <linux/limits.h> any more.

Instead, add them to the in-kernel libfdt_env.h to compile the
latest libfdt.

13dc8c029c kbuild: remove ar-option and KBUILD_ARFLAGS
Commit 40df759e2b ("kbuild: Fix build with binutils <= 2.19")
introduced ar-option and KBUILD_ARFLAGS to deal with old binutils.

According to Documentation/process/changes.rst, the current minimal
supported version of binutils is 2.21 so you can assume the 'D' option
is always supported. Not only GNU ar but also llvm-ar supports it.

With the 'D' option hard-coded, there is no more user of ar-option
or KBUILD_ARFLAGS.

528229d210 powerpc: Add support for adding an ESM blob to the zImage wrapper
For secure VMs, the signing tool will create a ticket called the "ESM blob"
for the Enter Secure Mode ultravisor call with the signatures of the kernel

This adds support to the wrapper script for adding that blob via the "-e"
option to the zImage.pseries.

It also adds code to the zImage wrapper itself to retrieve and if necessary
relocate the blob, and pass its address to Linux via the device-tree, to be
later consumed by prom_init.

192f0f8e9d powerpc updates for 5.3
Notable changes:

  - Removal of the NPU DMA code, used by the out-of-tree Nvidia driver, as well
as some other functions only used by drivers that haven't (yet?) made it
    upstream.

  - A fix for a bug in our handling of hardware watchpoints (eg. perf record -e
mem: ...) which could lead to register corruption and kernel crashes.

  - Enable HAVE_ARCH_HUGE_VMAP, which allows us to use large pages for vmalloc
    when using the Radix MMU.

  - A large but incremental rewrite of our exception handling code to use gas
macros rather than multiple levels of nested CPP macros.

And the usual small fixes, cleanups and improvements.

Pull powerpc updates from Michael Ellerman:
 "Notable changes:

   - Removal of the NPU DMA code, used by the out-of-tree Nvidia driver,
as well as some other functions only used by drivers that haven't
     (yet?) made it upstream.

   - A fix for a bug in our handling of hardware watchpoints (eg. perf
record -e mem: ...) which could lead to register corruption and
     kernel crashes.

   - Enable HAVE_ARCH_HUGE_VMAP, which allows us to use large pages for
vmalloc when using the Radix MMU.

   - A large but incremental rewrite of our exception handling code to
use gas macros rather than multiple levels of nested CPP macros.

And the usual small fixes, cleanups and improvements.

4ba7f80f42 powerpc/boot: pass CONFIG options in a simpler and more robust way
Commit 5e9dcb6188 ("powerpc/boot: Expose Kconfig symbols to wrapper")
was wrong, but commit e41b93a6be ("powerpc/boot: Fix build failures
with -j 1") was also wrong.

The correct dependency is:

  $(obj)/serial.o: $(obj)/autoconf.h

However, I do not see the reason why we need to copy autoconf.h to
arch/power/boot/. Nor do I see consistency in the way of passing
CONFIG options.

decompress.c references CONFIG_KERNEL_GZIP and CONFIG_KERNEL_XZ, which
are passed via the command line.

serial.c includes autoconf.h to reference a couple of CONFIG options,
but this is fragile because we often forget to include "autoconf.h"
from source files.

In fact, it is already broken.

ppc_asm.h references CONFIG_PPC_8xx, but utils.S is not given any way
to access CONFIG options. So, CONFIG_PPC_8xx is never defined here.

Pass $(LINUXINCLUDE) to make sure CONFIG options are accessible from
all .c and .S files in arch/powerpc/boot/.

I also removed the -traditional flag to make include/linux/kconfig.h
work. This flag makes the preprocessor imitate the behavior of the
pre-standard C compiler, but I do not understand why it is necessary.

9e005b761e powerpc/boot: add {get, put}_unaligned_be32 to xz_config.h
The next commit will make the way of passing CONFIG options more robust.
Unfortunately, it would uncover another hidden issue; without this
commit, skiroot_defconfig would be broken like this:

| WRAP arch/powerpc/boot/zImage.pseries
| arch/powerpc/boot/wrapper.a(decompress.o): In function `bcj_powerpc.isra.10':
| decompress.c:(.text+0x720): undefined reference to `get_unaligned_be32'
| decompress.c:(.text+0x7a8): undefined reference to `put_unaligned_be32'
| make[1]: *** [arch/powerpc/boot/Makefile;383: arch/powerpc/boot/zImage.pseries] Error 1
| make: *** [arch/powerpc/Makefile;295: zImage] Error 2

skiroot_defconfig is the only defconfig that enables CONFIG_KERNEL_XZ
for ppc, which has never been correctly built before.

I figured out the root cause in lib/decompress_unxz.c:

| #ifdef CONFIG_PPC
| # define XZ_DEC_POWERPC
| #endif

CONFIG_PPC is undefined here in the ppc bootwrapper because autoconf.h
is not included except by arch/powerpc/boot/serial.c

XZ_DEC_POWERPC is not defined, therefore, bcj_powerpc() is not compiled
for the bootwrapper.

With the next commit passing CONFIG_PPC correctly, we would realize that
{get,put}_unaligned_be32 was missing.

Unlike the other decompressors, the ppc bootwrapper duplicates all the
necessary helpers in arch/powerpc/boot/.

The other architectures define __KERNEL__ and pull in helpers for
building the decompressors.

If ppc bootwrapper had defined __KERNEL__, lib/xz/xz_private.h would
have included <asm/unaligned.h>:

| #ifdef __KERNEL__
| # include <linux/xz.h>
| # include <linux/kernel.h>
| # include <asm/unaligned.h>

However, doing so would cause tons of definition conflicts since the
bootwrapper has duplicated everything.

I just added copies of {get,put}_unaligned_be32, following the
bootwrapper coding convention.

afa974b771 kbuild: add real-prereqs shorthand for $(filter-out FORCE,$^)
In Kbuild, if_changed and friends must have FORCE as a prerequisite.

Hence, $(filter-out FORCE,$^) or $(filter-out $(PHONY),$^) is a common
idiom to get the names of all the prerequisites except phony targets.

Add real-prereqs as a shorthand.

Note:
We cannot replace $(filter %.o,$^) in cmd_link_multi-m because $^ may
include auto-generated dependencies from the .*.cmd file when a single
object module is changed into a multi object module. Refer to commit
69ea912fda ("kbuild: remove unneeded link_multi_deps"). I added some
comment to avoid accidental breakage.

ccdde478e8 powerpc/dts/fsl: Fix dtc-flagged interrupt errors
mpc8641_hpcn was updated to 4-cell interrupt specifiers, but
PCI interrupt-map was not updated. It was also missing #interrupt-cells
on the outer PCI buses.

p1020rdb-pc was updated to 4-cell interrupt specifiers, but
the ethernet-phy nodes weren't updated.

mpc832x_rdb had an invalid "interrupts = <0>" on the ethernet-phy nodes.
Besides being the wrong number of cells, 0 is not a valid IPIC interrupt
according to ipic.c. Presumably it was meant to indicate that these
PHYs are not connected to an interrupt.

3cfb9ebe90 powerpc/44x/bamboo: Fix PCI range
The bamboo dts has a bug: it uses a non-naturally aligned range
for PCI memory space. This isnt' supported by the code, thus
causing PCI to break on this system.

This is due to the fact that while the chip memory map has 1G
reserved for PCI memory, it's only 512M aligned. The code doesn't
know how to split that into 2 different PMMs and fails, so limit
the region to 512M.

e41b93a6be powerpc/boot: Fix build failures with -j 1
In commit 5e9dcb6188 ("powerpc/boot: Expose Kconfig symbols to
wrapper") we added a dependency to serial.c on autoconf.h:

  $(obj)/serial.c: $(obj)/autoconf.h

This works when building in-tree (ie. with KBUILD_OUTPUT unset)
because the obj tree is the src tree.

But when building with eg. O=build and -j 1 the build fails:

  gcc ... -I../arch/powerpc/boot -c -o arch/powerpc/boot/serial.o arch/powerpc/boot/serial.c
gcc: error: arch/powerpc/boot/serial.c: No such file or directory

Why this is only happening with -j 1 is not clear, when building with
-j greater than 1 somehow we decide to look for serial.c in the src
tree (../), eg:

  gcc -I../arch/powerpc/boot -c -o arch/powerpc/boot/serial.o ../arch/powerpc/boot/serial.c

Regardless we shouldn't be specifying a dependency on serial.c in the
build tree, we want to add a dependency to the version in $(srctree)
so fix the rule to say that.

5564597d51 powerpc: Fix COFF zImage booting on old powermacs
Commit 6975a783d7 ("powerpc/boot: Allow building the zImage wrapper
as a relocatable ET_DYN", 2011-04-12) changed the procedure descriptor
at the start of crt0.S to have a hard-coded start address of 0x500000
rather than a reference to _zimage_start, presumably because having
a reference to a symbol introduced a relocation which is awkward to
handle in a position-independent executable. Unfortunately, what is
at 0x500000 in the COFF image is not the first instruction, but the
procedure descriptor itself, that is, a word containing 0x500000,
which is not a valid instruction. Hence, booting a COFF zImage
results in a "DEFAULT CATCH!, code=FFF00700" message from Open
Firmware.

This fixes the problem by (a) putting the procedure descriptor in the
data section and (b) adding a branch to _zimage_start as the first
instruction in the program.

685f7e4f16 powerpc updates for 4.20
Notable changes:

  - A large series to rewrite our SLB miss handling, replacing a lot of fairly
complicated asm with much fewer lines of C.

  - Following on from that, we now maintain a cache of SLB entries for each
process and preload them on context switch. Leading to a 27% speedup for our
    context switch benchmark on Power9.

  - Improvements to our handling of SLB multi-hit errors. We now print more debug
information when they occur, and try to continue running by flushing the SLB
and reloading, rather than treating them as fatal.

  - Enable THP migration on 64-bit Book3S machines (eg. Power7/8/9).

  - Add support for physical memory up to 2PB in the linear mapping on 64-bit
Book3S. We only support up to 512TB as regular system memory, otherwise the
percpu allocator runs out of vmalloc space.

  - Add stack protector support for 32 and 64-bit, with a per-task canary.

  - Add support for PTRACE_SYSEMU and PTRACE_SYSEMU_SINGLESTEP.

  - Support recognising "big cores" on Power9, where two SMT4 cores are presented
to us as a single SMT8 core.

  - A large series to cleanup some of our ioremap handling and PTE flags.

  - Add a driver for the PAPR SCM (storage class memory) interface, allowing
guests to operate on SCM devices (acked by Dan).

  - Changes to our ftrace code to handle very large kernels, where we need to use
a trampoline to get to ftrace_caller().

Many other smaller enhancements and cleanups.

e738c5f155 powerpc/8xx: Add DT node for using the SEC engine of the MPC885
The MPC885 has SEC engine version 1.2 with the following details:
- Number of Crypto channels: 1
- Exec Units: DEU, MDEU and AESU
- Available descriptors: 00010, 00100, 00110, 01000, 11000, 11010

It is also supposed to have descriptor 00000, but it doesn't work
properly so we keep it out for the moment.

0400d65501 powerpc/dts/fsl: t2080rdb: reorder the Cortina PHY XFI lanes
According to the T2080RDB schematics, for the CS4315 PHY, the XFI 1 lane is
connected to SFP 2 and the XFI 2 lane is connected to SFP 1. Change the
device tree to reflect the correct PHY order and port association.
