df56e0f960 rcutorture/formal: Replace synchronize_sched() with synchronize_rcu()
Now that synchronize_rcu() waits for preempt-disable regions of code
as well as RCU read-side critical sections, synchronize_sched() can be
replaced by synchronize_rcu(). This commit therefore makes this change,
even though it is but a comment.

0a68632488 bpf: Apply F_NEEDS_EFFICIENT_UNALIGNED_ACCESS to more ACCEPT test cases.
If a testcase has alignment problems but is expected to be ACCEPT,
verify it using F_NEEDS_EFFICIENT_UNALIGNED_ACCESS too.

Maybe in the future if we add some architecture specific code to elide
the unaligned memory access warnings during the test, we can execute
these as well.

c7665702d3 bpf: Adjust F_NEEDS_EFFICIENT_UNALIGNED_ACCESS handling in test_verifier.c
Make it set the flag argument to bpf_verify_program() which will relax
the alignment restrictions.

Now all such test cases will go properly through the verifier even on
inefficient unaligned access architectures.

On inefficient unaligned access architectures do not try to run such
programs, instead mark the test case as passing but annotate the
result similarly to how it is done now in the presence of this flag.

So, we get complete full coverage for all REJECT test cases, and at
least verifier level coverage for ACCEPT test cases.

e9ee9efc0d bpf: Add BPF_F_ANY_ALIGNMENT.
Often we want to write tests cases that check things like bad context
offset accesses. And one way to do this is to use an odd offset on,
for example, a 32-bit load.

This unfortunately triggers the alignment checks first on platforms
that do not set CONFIG_EFFICIENT_UNALIGNED_ACCESS. So the test
case see the alignment failure rather than what it was testing for.

It is often not completely possible to respect the original intention
of the test, or even test the same exact thing, while solving the
alignment issue.

Another option could have been to check the alignment after the
context and other validations are performed by the verifier, but
that is a non-trivial change to the verifier.

f71c6143c2 bpf: Support sk lookup in netns with id 0
David Ahern and Nicolas Dichtel report that the handling of the netns id
0 is incorrect for the BPF socket lookup helpers: rather than finding
the netns with id 0, it is resolving to the current netns. This renders
the netns_id 0 inaccessible.

To fix this, adjust the API for the netns to treat all negative s32
values as a lookup in the current netns (including u64 values which when
truncated to s32 become negative), while any values with a positive
value in the signed 32-bit integer space would result in a lookup for a
socket in the netns corresponding to that id. As before, if the netns
with that ID does not exist, no socket will be found. Any netns outside
of these ranges will fail to find a corresponding socket, as those
values are reserved for future usage.

5249497a7b selftests/powerpc: Allocate base registers
Some ptrace selftests are passing input operands using a constraint that
can allocate any register for the operand, and using these registers on
load/store operations.

If the register allocated by the compiler happens to be zero (r0), it might
cause an invalid memory address access, since load and store operations
consider the content of 0x0 address if the base register is r0, instead of
the content of the r0 register. For example:

	r1 := 0xdeadbeef
	r0 := 0xdeadbeef

	ld r2, 0(1) /* will load into r2 the content of r1 address */
	ld r2, 0(0) /* will load into r2 the content of 0x0 */

In order to avoid this possible problem, the inline assembly constraint
should be aware that these registers will be used as a base register, thus,
r0 should not be allocated.

Other than that, this patch removes inline assembly operands that are not
used by the tests.

Packet sockets with PACKET_TX_RING send skbs with user data in frags.

Before commit 5cd8d46ea1 ("packet: copy user buffers before orphan
or clone") ring slots could be released prematurely, possibly allowing
a process to overwrite data still in flight.

This test opens two packet sockets, one to send and one to read.
The sender has a tx ring of one slot. It sends two packets with
different payload, then reads both and verifies their payload.

Before the above commit, both receive calls return the same data as
the send calls use the same buffer. From the commit, the clone
needed for looping onto a packet socket triggers an skb_copy_ubufs
to create a private copy. The separate sends each arrive correctly.

d0540d1706 selftests: forwarding: lib: Add in_ns()
In order to run a certain command inside another network namespace, it's
possible to use "ip netns exec ns command". However then one can't use
functions defined in lib.sh or a test suite.

One option is to do "ip netns exec ns bash -c command", provided that
all functions that one wishes to use (and their dependencies) are
published using "export -f". That may not be practical.

Therefore, introduce a helper in_ns(), which wraps a given command in a
boilerplate of "ip netns exec" and "source lib.sh", thus making all
library functions available. (Custom functions that a script wishes to
run within a namespace still need to be exported.)

Because quotes in "$@" aren't recognized in heredoc, hand-expand the
array in an explicit for loop, leveraging printf %q to handle proper
quoting.

Currently the selftest wild_bctr can fail to build when an old gcc is
used, notably on gcc using a binutils version <= 2.27, because the
assembler does not support the integer suffix UL.

This patch adjusts the wild_bctr test so the REG_POISON value is still
treated as an unsigned long for the shifts on compilation but the UL
suffix is absent on the stringification, so the inline asm code
generated has no UL suffixes.

The selftest I recently added to test branching to an out-of-bounds

This patch provides a tcp_bpf based eBPF sample. The test

- ncat(1) as the TCP client program to connect() to a port
with the intention of triggerring SYN retransmissions: we
first install an iptables DROP rule to make sure ncat SYNs are
resent (instead of aborting instantly after a TCP RST)

- has a bpf kernel module that sends a perf-event notification for

38e630424b rcutorture: Add initrd support for systems lacking dracut
The support for creating initrd directories using dracut is a great
improvement over having to always hand-create them, it is a bit annoying
to have to install some otherwise irrelevant package just to be able to
run rcutorture. This commit therefore adds support for creating initrd
directories on systems innocent of dracut. You do need gcc, but then
again you need that to build the kernel (or to build llvm) in any case.

The idea is to create an initrd directory containing nothing but a
statically linked binary having a for-loop over a long-term sleep().
The result is a Linux kernel with almost no userspace: even the
time-honored /dev, /lib, /tmp, and /usr directories are gone. In fact,
the only directory present is "/", but only because I don't know how to
get rid of it, at least short of not having an initrd in the first place.
Although statically linked binaries are much maligned, and rightly so,
their disadvantages seem to be irrelevant for this particular use case.
From https://www.akkadia.org/drepper/no_static_linking.html:

1.	Fixes are difficult to apply to hordes of widely scattered
statically linked binaries. But in this case, there is only one
binary, but there would otherwise be no fewer than four libraries.

2.	Security measures like local address randomization cannot be used.
Prudence prevents me from asserting that it is impossible to
base a remote attack on a networking-free rcutorture instance.
Nevertheless, bonus points to the first person who comes up with
	such an attack!

3.	More efficient use of physical memory. Not in this case, given
that libc is 1.8MB and the statically linked binary "only" 800K.

4.	Features such as locales, name service switch (NSS),
internationalized domain names (IDN) tool, and so on require
dynamic linking. Bonus points to the first person coming up
with a valid rcutorture use case requiring these features in
	its initrd.

5.	Accidental violations of (L)GPL. Actually, this change actually
helps -avoid- such violations by reducing the temptation to
pass around tarballs of rcutorture-ready initrd directories.
After all, the rcutorture scripts automatically create an initrd
directory for you, so why bother with the tarballs?

6.	Tools and hacks like ltrace, LD_PRELOAD, LD_PROFILE, and LD_AUDIT
don't work. Again, bonus points to the first person coming up
with a valid rcutorture use case requiring these features in
	its initrd.

Nevertheless, the script will use dracut if available, and will create the
statically linked binary only when dracut are missing. Those preferring
the smaller initrd directory resulting from the statically linked binary
(like me) are free to hand-edit mkinitrd.sh to remove the code using
dracut. ;-)

8f15c682ac rcutorture: Automatically create initrd directory
The rcutorture scripts currently expect the user to create the
tools/testing/selftests/rcutorture/initrd directory. Should the user
fail to do this, the kernel build will fail with obscure and confusing
error messages. This commit therefore adds explicit checks for the
tools/testing/selftests/rcutorture/initrd directory, and if not present,
creates one on systems on which dracut is installed. If this directory
could not be created, a less obscure error message is emitted and the
test is aborted.

f96afa767b selftests/bpf: enable (uncomment) all tests in test_libbpf.sh
libbpf is now able to load successfully test_l4lb_noinline.o and
samples/bpf/tracex3_kern.o.

For the test_l4lb_noinline, uncomment related tests from test_libbpf.c
and remove the associated "TODO".

For tracex3_kern.o, instead of loading a program from samples/bpf/ that
might not have been compiled at this stage, try loading a program from
BPF selftests. Since this test case is about loading a program compiled
without the "-target bpf" flag, change the Makefile to compile one
program accordingly (instead of passing the flag for compiling all
programs).

Regarding test_xdp_noinline.o: in its current shape the program fails to
load because it provides no version section, but the loader needs one.
The test was added to make sure that libbpf could load XDP programs even
if they do not provide a version number in a dedicated section. But
libbpf is already capable of doing that: in our case loading fails
because the loader does not know that this is an XDP program (it does
not need to, since it does not attach the program). So trying to load
test_xdp_noinline.o does not bring much here: just delete this subtest.

For the record, the error message obtained with tracex3_kern.o was
fixed by commit e3d91b0ca5 ("tools/libbpf: handle issues with bpf ELF
objects containing .eh_frames")

I have not been abled to reproduce the "libbpf: incorrect bpf_call
opcode" error for test_l4lb_noinline.o, even with the version of libbpf
present at the time when test_libbpf.sh and test_libbpf_open.c were
created.

RFC -> v1:
- Compile test_xdp without the "-target bpf" flag, and try to load it
  instead of ../../samples/bpf/tracex3_kern.o.
- Delete test_xdp_noinline.o subtest.

1936f094e1 selftests/powerpc: Fix compilation issue due to asm label
We are using 'dscr_insn' as a label in inline asm to identify if a
SIGILL was generated by the mtspr instruction at that point. However,
with inline assembly, the compiler is still free to duplicate the asm
statement for optimization purposes, which results in the label being
defined twice with the error:
/tmp/ccerQCql.s:874: Error: symbol `dscr_insn' is already defined

With different compiler versions, we may also see:
	/tmp/ccJzLDlN.o:(.toc+0x0): undefined reference to `dscr_insn'

Remove the use of the label in the inline assembly. Instead, just look
for the offending instruction in the signal handler.

Since the minimum shaper is now being enabled for MC TCs, it's

a95ecac5cb selftests/powerpc: Relax L1d miss targets for rfi_flush test
When running the rfi_flush test, if the system is loaded, we see two
issues:
1. The L1d misses when rfi_flush is disabled increase significantly due
to other workloads interfering with the cache.
2. The L1d misses when rfi_flush is enabled sometimes goes slightly
below the expected number of misses.

To address these, let's relax the expected number of L1d misses:
1. When rfi_flush is disabled, we allow upto half the expected number of
the misses for when rfi_flush is enabled.
2. When rfi_flush is enabled, we allow ~1% lower number of cache misses.

If redirecting command to synthetic_event file without append
mode, it cleans up all existing events and execute (parse) the
command. This means "delete event" always fails to find the
target event.

Since previous synthetic event has a bug which doesn't return
-ENOENT even if it fails to find the deleting event, this test
passed. But fixing that bug, this test fails because this test
itself has a bug.

This fixes that bug by trying to delete event right after
adding an event, and use append mode redirection ('>>') instead
of normal redirection ('>').

7eaa8c969e userfaultfd: selftest: recycle lock threads first
Now we recycle the uffd servicing threads earlier than the lock threads.
It might happen that when the lock thread is still blocked at a pthread
mutex lock while the servicing thread has already quitted for the cpu so
the lock thread will be blocked forever and hang the test program. To fix
the possible race, recycle the lock threads first.

This never happens with current missing-only tests, but when I start to
run the write-protection tests (the feature is not yet posted upstream) it
happens every time of the run possibly because in that new test we'll need
to service two page faults for each lock operation.

685f7e4f16 powerpc updates for 4.20
Notable changes:

  - A large series to rewrite our SLB miss handling, replacing a lot of fairly
complicated asm with much fewer lines of C.

  - Following on from that, we now maintain a cache of SLB entries for each
process and preload them on context switch. Leading to a 27% speedup for our
    context switch benchmark on Power9.

  - Improvements to our handling of SLB multi-hit errors. We now print more debug
information when they occur, and try to continue running by flushing the SLB
and reloading, rather than treating them as fatal.

  - Enable THP migration on 64-bit Book3S machines (eg. Power7/8/9).

  - Add support for physical memory up to 2PB in the linear mapping on 64-bit
Book3S. We only support up to 512TB as regular system memory, otherwise the
percpu allocator runs out of vmalloc space.

  - Add stack protector support for 32 and 64-bit, with a per-task canary.

  - Add support for PTRACE_SYSEMU and PTRACE_SYSEMU_SINGLESTEP.

  - Support recognising "big cores" on Power9, where two SMT4 cores are presented
to us as a single SMT8 core.

  - A large series to cleanup some of our ioremap handling and PTE flags.

  - Add a driver for the PAPR SCM (storage class memory) interface, allowing
guests to operate on SCM devices (acked by Dan).

  - Changes to our ftrace code to handle very large kernels, where we need to use
a trampoline to get to ftrace_caller().

Many other smaller enhancements and cleanups.

48dc0ef190 selftests/powerpc: Fix ptrace tm failure
Test ptrace-tm-spd-gpr fails on current kernel (4.19) due to a segmentation
fault that happens on the child process prior to setting cptr[2] = 1. This
causes the parent process to wait forever at 'while (!pptr[2])' and the test to
be killed by the test harness framework by timeout, thus, failing.

The segmentation fault happens because of a inline assembly being
generated as:

	0x10000355c <tm_spd_gpr+492> lfs f0, 0(0)

This is reading memory position 0x0 and causing the segmentation fault.

This code is being generated by ASM_LOAD_FPR_SINGLE_PRECISION(flt_4), where
flt_4 is passed to the inline assembly block as:

	[flt_4] "r" (&d)

Since the inline assembly 'r' constraint means any GPR, gpr0 is being
chosen, thus causing this issue when issuing a Load Floating-Point Single
instruction.

This patch simply changes the constraint to 'b', which specify that this
register will be used as base, and r0 is not allowed to be used, avoiding
this issue.

Other than that, removing flt_2 register from the input operands, since it
is not used by the inline assembly code at all.

ab21c1b5f7 bpf: disallow direct packet access for unpriv in cg_skb
Commit b39b5f411d ("bpf: add cg_skb_is_valid_access for
BPF_PROG_TYPE_CGROUP_SKB") added support for returning pkt pointers
for direct packet access. Given this program type is allowed for both
unprivileged and privileged users, we shouldn't allow unprivileged
ones to use it, e.g. besides others one reason would be to avoid any
potential speculation on the packet test itself, thus guard this for
root only.

Given BPF_PROG_TYPE_CGROUP_SKB program types are also valid in an

have issues fall through the cracks. Make this more obvious by
adding a small test_as_unpriv() helper.

4ed591c8ab net/ipv6: Allow onlink routes to have a device mismatch if it is the default route
The intent of ip6_route_check_nh_onlink is to make sure the gateway
given for an onlink route is not actually on a connected route for
a different interface (e.g., 2001:db8:1::/64 is on dev eth1 and then
an onlink route has a via 2001:db8:1::1 dev eth2). If the gateway
lookup hits the default route then it most likely will be a different
interface than the onlink route which is ok.

Update ip6_route_check_nh_onlink to disregard the device mismatch
if the gateway lookup hits the default route. Turns out the existing
onlink tests are passing because there is no default route or it is
an unreachable default, so update the onlink tests to have a default
route other than unreachable.

8096fbcf55 selftests/ftrace: Use colored output when available
If test is being directly executed (with stdout opened on the
terminal) and the terminal capabilities indicate enough
colors, then use the existing scheme of green, red, and blue
to show when tests pass, fail or end in a different way.

When running the tests redirecting the stdout, for instance,
to a file, then colors are not shown, thus producing a more
readable output.

8f381ac4d3 selftests/ftrace: Add color to the PASS / FAIL results
Now that ftracetest has over 80 tests, it is difficult to simply scroll
up the console window to find the failed tests when it reports just two
tests have failed. In order to make this stand out better, have the
color of the word "PASS" be green, "FAIL" and "XFAIL" be red, and all
other results be blue. This helps tremendously in quickly spotting the
failed tests by just scrolling up the console window.

8c7f6316fc selftests: gpio: Fix OUTPUT directory in Makefile
When simply running `make' from the selftests top dir, this

cc: error: ../../../gpio/gpio-utils.o: No such file or directory
<builtin>: recipe for target 'gpio-mockup-chardev' failed
  make[1]: *** [gpio-mockup-chardev] Error 1

because the output directory is set to "selftests/gpio" and
all binaries built from ../../../gpio/ end up there. In fact,
they appear as, exempli gratia:
* gpiogpio-event-mon
* gpiogpio-hammer
* gpioinclude/
* gpiolsgpio
which is wrong, as it's missing a directory separator
somewhere.

This patch sets straight the output directory when building
../../../gpio/ so that binaries don't cross paths.
