62790268e4 ARM: SoC fixes
We've been accruing these for a couple of weeks, so the batch is a bit
 bigger than usual.

Largest delta is due to a led-bl driver that is added -- there was
a miscommunication before the merge window and the driver didn't make it
in. Due to this, the platforms needing it regressed. At this point, it
seemed easier to add the new driver than unwind the changes.

Besides that, there are a handful of various fixes:

  - AMD tee memory leak fix

  - A handful of fixlets for i.MX SCU communication

  - A few maintainers woke up and realized DEBUG_FS had been missing for
a while, so a few updates of that.

... and the usual collection of smaller fixes to various platforms.

26d5bb9e4c dt-bindings: net: FMan erratum A050385
FMAN DMA read or writes under heavy traffic load may cause FMAN
internal resource leak; thus stopping further packet processing.

The FMAN internal queue can overflow when FMAN splits single
read or write transactions into multiple smaller transactions
such that more than 17 AXI transactions are in flight from FMAN
to interconnect. When the FMAN internal queue overflows, it can
stall further packet processing. The issue can occur with any one
of the following three conditions:

  1. FMAN AXI transaction crosses 4K address boundary (Errata
     A010022)
  2. FMAN DMA address for an AXI transaction is not 16 byte
aligned, i.e. the last 4 bits of an address are non-zero
  3. Scatter Gather (SG) frames have more than one SG buffer in
the SG list and any one of the buffers, except the last
buffer in the SG list has data size that is not a multiple
     of 16 bytes, i.e., other than 16, 32, 48, 64, etc.

With any one of the above three conditions present, there is
likelihood of stalled FMAN packet processing, especially under
stress with multiple ports injecting line-rate traffic.

To avoid situations that stall FMAN packet processing, all of the
above three conditions must be avoided; therefore, configure the
system with the following rules:

  1. Frame buffers must not span a 4KB address boundary, unless
the frame start address is 256 byte aligned
  2. All FMAN DMA start addresses (for example, BMAN buffer
     address, FD[address] + FD[offset]) are 16B aligned
  3. SG table and buffer addresses are 16B aligned and the size
of SG buffers are multiple of 16 bytes, except for the last
SG buffer that can be of any size.

Additional workaround notes:
- Address alignment of 64 bytes is recommended for maximally
efficient system bus transactions (although 16 byte alignment is
sufficient to avoid the stall condition)
- To support frame sizes that are larger than 4K bytes, there are
two options:
  1. Large single buffer frames that span a 4KB page boundary can
be converted into SG frames to avoid transaction splits at
     the 4KB boundary,
  2. Align the large single buffer to 256B address boundaries,
ensure that the frame address plus offset is 256B aligned.
- If software generated SG frames have buffers that are unaligned
and with random non-multiple of 16 byte lengths, before
transmitting such frames via FMAN, frames will need to be copied
into a new single buffer or multiple buffer SG frame that is
compliant with the three rules listed above.

05289b90c2 sched/fair: Enable tuning of decay period
Thermal pressure follows pelt signals which means the decay period for
thermal pressure is the default pelt decay period. Depending on SoC
characteristics and thermal activity, it might be beneficial to decay
thermal pressure slower, but still in-tune with the pelt signals. One way
to achieve this is to provide a command line parameter to set a decay
shift parameter to an integer between 0 and 10.

Merge series "Compatible string consolidation for NXP DSPI driver" from Vladimir Oltean <olteanv@gmail.com>:
This series makes room in the driver for differentiation between the

actually capable of a lot more in terms of throughput. This is in
preparation of a second series which will convert the remaining users of

spi: spi-fsl-dspi: Add specific compatibles for all Layerscape SoCs
Make the second compatible string optional for LS1012A, LS1088A and
LS2080A. Old versions of the spi-fsl-dspi.c driver still need to probe
on the old, generic compatible string for these controllers (such as
"fsl,ls1021a-v1.0-dspi") which provides less functionality.

Document the device tree bindings for LS1043A and LS1046A, whose
bindings are already in use in fsl-ls1043a.dtsi and fsl-ls1046a.dtsi.

Introduce new compatible strings for LS1028A and LX2160A. There will be
no second compatible string for these.

8375e74f2b driver core: Add fw_devlink kernel commandline option
fwnode_operations.add_links allows creating device links from
information provided by firmware.

fwnode_operations.add_links is currently implemented only by
OF/devicetree code and a specific case of efi. However, there's nothing
preventing ACPI or other firmware types from implementing it.

The OF implementation is currently controlled by a kernel commandline
parameter called of_devlink.

Since this feature is generic isn't limited to OF, add a generic
fw_devlink kernel commandline parameter to control this feature across
firmware types.

c111566bea PM: runtime: Add pm_runtime_get_if_active()
pm_runtime_get_if_in_use() bumps up the PM-runtime usage count if it
is not equal to zero and the device's PM-runtime status is 'active'.
This works for drivers that do not use autoidle, but for those that
do, the function returns zero even when the device is active.

In order to maintain sane device state while the device is powered on
in the hope that it'll be needed, pm_runtime_get_if_active(dev, true)
returns a positive value if the device's PM-runtime status is 'active'
when it is called, in which case it also increments the device's usage
count.

If the second argument of pm_runtime_get_if_active() is 'false', the
function behaves just like pm_runtime_get_if_in_use(), so redefine
the latter as a wrapper around the former.

707518348a devlink: remove trigger command from devlink-region.rst
The devlink trigger command does not exist. While rewriting the
documentation for devlink into the reStructuredText format,
documentation for the trigger command was accidentally merged in. This
occurred because the author was also working on a potential extension to
devlink regions which included this trigger command, and accidentally
squashed the documentation incorrectly.

Further review eventually settled on using the previously unused "new"
command instead of creating a new trigger command.

Fix this by removing mention of the trigger command from the
documentation.

65220630bb kbuild: Build DT binding examples with dtc warnings enabled
Now that we have a separate rule for DT binding examples, we can customize
the dtc options. Let's adjust the dtc warnings to me more strict by
default so the examples get cleaned up as they get converted to schema.

Leaving 'avoid_unnecessary_addr_size' and 'graph_child_address' warnings
disabled as examples tend to be incomplete and they generates a lot of
warnings.

2ba06cd856 kbuild: Always validate DT binding examples
Most folks only run dt_binding_check on the single schema they care about
by setting DT_SCHEMA_FILES. That means example is only checked against
that one schema which is not always sufficient.

Let's address this by splitting processed-schema.yaml into 2 files: one
that's always all schemas for the examples and one that's just the schema
in DT_SCHEMA_FILES for dtbs.

obj-* needs a trailing slash for a directory, but subdir-* does not
because it already implies a directory.

Also, change subdir-y to subdir- to ensure this is effective only

This makes the cleaning log consistent. (no trailing slash)

8fd390b89c media: Split v4l2_pipeline_pm_use into v4l2_pipeline_pm_{get, put}
Currently, v4l2_pipeline_pm_use() prototype is:

int v4l2_pipeline_pm_use(struct media_entity *entity, int use)

Where the 'use' argument shall only be set to '1' for enable/power-on,
or to '0' for disable/power-off. The integer return is specified
as only meaningful when 'use' is set to '1'.

Let's enforce this semantic by splitting the function in two:
v4l2_pipeline_pm_get and v4l2_pipeline_pm_put. This is done
for several reasons.

It makes the API easier to use (or harder to misuse).
It removes the constraint on the values the 'use' argument
shall take. Also, it removes the need to constraint
the return value, by making v4l2_pipeline_pm_put void return.

And last, it's more consistent with other kernel APIs, such
as the runtime pm APIs, which makes the code more symmetric.

03b2249650 Documentation: cpufreq: Move legacy driver documentation
There are three legacy driver documents in Documentation/cpu-freq/
that were added years ago and converting them each to the .rst
format is rather pointless, even though there is some value in
preserving them. However, if they are preserved, they need to go
into the admin-guide part of cpufreq documentation where they belong
(at least to a certain extent).

To preserve them with minimum amount of changes and put them into the
right place, and make it possible to process them into HTML (and other
formats) along with the rest of the documentation, move them each
as a "literal text" block into a separate section of a single .rst
"wrapper" file under Documentation/admin-guide/pm/.

While at it, repair the PCC specification URL in one of them.

87dac697a0 net/mlx5e: Add devlink fdb_large_groups parameter
Add a devlink parameter to control the number of large groups in a
autogrouped flow table. The default value is 15, and the range is between 1
and 1024.

The size of each large group can be calculated according to the following
formula: size = 4M / (fdb_large_groups + 1).

Examples:
- Set the number of large groups to 20.
    $ devlink dev param set pci/0000:82:00.0 name fdb_large_groups \
      cmode driverinit value 20

Then run devlink reload command to apply the new value.
    $ devlink dev reload pci/0000:82:00.0

- Read the number of large groups in flow table.
$ devlink dev param show pci/0000:82:00.0 name fdb_large_groups
    pci/0000:82:00.0:
      name fdb_large_groups type driver-specific

eccbde4f6c kbuild: remove wrong documentation about mandatory-y
This sentence does not make sense in the section about mandatory-y.

This seems to be a copy-paste mistake of commit fcc8487d47 ("uapi:
export all headers under uapi directories").

The correct description would be "The convention is to list one
mandatory-y per line ...".

I just removed it instead of fixing it. If such information is needed,
it could be commented in include/asm-generic/Kbuild and
include/uapi/asm-generic/Kbuild.

e9765680a3 EFI updates for v5.7:
This time, the set of changes for the EFI subsystem is much larger than
 usual. The main reasons are:
 - Get things cleaned up before EFI support for RISC-V arrives, which will
increase the size of the validation matrix, and therefore the threshold to
   making drastic changes,
 - After years of defunct maintainership, the GRUB project has finally started
to consider changes from the distros regarding UEFI boot, some of which are
highly specific to the way x86 does UEFI secure boot and measured boot,
based on knowledge of both shim internals and the layout of bootparams and
the x86 setup header. Having this maintenance burden on other architectures
(which don't need shim in the first place) is hard to justify, so instead,
we are introducing a generic Linux/UEFI boot protocol.

 Summary of changes:
 - Boot time GDT handling changes (Arvind)
 - Simplify handling of EFI properties table on arm64
 - Generic EFI stub cleanups, to improve command line handling, file I/O,
   memory allocation, etc.
 - Introduce a generic initrd loading method based on calling back into
the firmware, instead of relying on the x86 EFI handover protocol or
   device tree.
 - Introduce a mixed mode boot method that does not rely on the x86 EFI
handover protocol either, and could potentially be adopted by other
architectures (if another one ever surfaces where one execution mode
   is a superset of another)
 - Clean up the contents of struct efi, and move out everything that
doesn't need to be stored there.
 - Incorporate support for UEFI spec v2.8A changes that permit firmware
implementations to return EFI_UNSUPPORTED from UEFI runtime services at
OS runtime, and expose a mask of which ones are supported or unsupported
   via a configuration table.
 - Various documentation updates and minor code cleanups (Heinrich)
 - Partial fix for the lack of by-VA cache maintenance in the decompressor
on 32-bit ARM. Note that these patches were deliberately put at the
beginning so they can be used as a stable branch that will be shared with
a PR containing the complete fix, which I will send to the ARM tree.

adc10f5b0a docs: Fix empty parallelism argument
When there was no parallelism (no top-level -j arg and a pre-1.7
sphinx-build), the argument passed would be empty ("") instead of just
being missing, which would (understandably) badly confuse sphinx-build.
Fix this by removing the quotes.

4b5f67232d net: Special handling for IP & MPLS.
Special handling is needed in bareudp module for IP & MPLS as they
support more than one ethertypes.

MPLS has 2 ethertypes. 0x8847 for MPLS unicast and 0x8848 for MPLS multicast.
While decapsulating MPLS packet from UDP packet the tunnel destination IP
address is checked to determine the ethertype. The ethertype of the packet
will be set to 0x8848 if the tunnel destination IP address is a multicast
IP address. The ethertype of the packet will be set to 0x8847 if the
tunnel destination IP address is a unicast IP address.

IP has 2 ethertypes.0x0800 for IPV4 and 0x86dd for IPv6. The version
field of the IP header tunnelled will be checked to determine the ethertype.

This special handling to tunnel additional ethertypes will be disabled
by default and can be enabled using a flag called multiproto. This flag can
be used only with ethertypes 0x8847 and 0x0800.

218fc9f2fc media: Documentation/media/uapi: more readable unions
Avoid adding an extra columns when describing unions in the documentation.
That makes it much harder to read. See e.g. VIDIOC_QUERY_EXT_CTRLS.

Instead start off a union with 'union {' and end it with an extra row
containing '}'.

This leaves a lot more space for the description of the fields.

This formatting technique was used in a few places already, but this
patches fixes all remaining occurrences of 'union' in the media uAPI.

238e4a5baa media: rename VFL_TYPE_GRABBER to _VIDEO
We currently have the following devnode types:

enum vfl_devnode_type {
        VFL_TYPE_GRABBER        = 0,

        VFL_TYPE_SDR,
        VFL_TYPE_TOUCH,
VFL_TYPE_MAX /* Shall be the last one */
};

They all make sense, except for the first: GRABBER really refers to /dev/videoX

their function anymore.

Let's call a spade a spade and rename this to VFL_TYPE_VIDEO.

Merge tag 'arm64-fixes' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm64/linux

Pull arm64 fixes from Will Deacon:
"It's all straightforward apart from the changes to mmap()/mremap() in
relation to their handling of address arguments from userspace with
non-zero tag bits in the upper byte.

The change to brk() is necessary to fix a nasty user-visible
regression in malloc(), but we tightened up mmap() and mremap() at the
same time because they also allow the user to create virtual aliases
by accident. It's much less likely than brk() to matter in practice,
but enforcing the principle of "don't permit the creation of mappings
using tagged addresses" leads to a straightforward ABI without having
to worry about the "but what if a crazy program did foo?" aspect of
  things.

  Summary:

   - Fix regression in malloc() caused by ignored address tags in brk()

   - Add missing brackets around argument to untagged_addr() macro

   - Fix clang build when using binutils assembler

   - Fix silly typo in virtual memory map documentation"

Add append value operator "+=" support to bootconfig syntax.
With this operator, user can add new value to the key as
an entry of array instead of overwriting.
For example,

  foo = bar
  ...
  foo += baz

Then the key "foo" has "bar" and "baz" values as an array.

4e4694d872 bootconfig: Prohibit re-defining value on same key
Currently, bootconfig adds a new value on the existing key to the tail of an
array. But this looks a bit confusing because an admin can easily rewrite
the original value in the same config file.

This rejects the following value re-definition.

  key = value1
  ...
  key = value2

You should rewrite value1 to value2 in this case.

8171d3e0da torture: Allow disabling of boottime CPU-hotplug torture operations
In theory, RCU-hotplug operations are supposed to work as soon as there
is more than one CPU online. However, in practice, in normal production
there is no way to make them happen until userspace is up and running.
Besides which, on smaller systems, rcutorture doesn't start doing hotplug
operations until 30 seconds after the start of boot, which on most
systems also means the better part of 30 seconds after the end of boot.
This commit therefore provides a new torture.disable_onoff_at_boot kernel
boot parameter that suppresses CPU-hotplug torture operations until
about the time that init is spawned.

Of course, if you know of a need for boottime CPU-hotplug operations,
then you should avoid passing this argument to any of the torture tests.
You might also want to look at the splats linked to below.

58c53360b3 rcutorture: Allow boottime stall warnings to be suppressed
In normal production, an RCU CPU stall warning at boottime is often
just as bad as at any other time. In fact, given the desire for fast
boot, any sort of long-term stall at boot is a bad idea. However,
heavy rcutorture testing on large hyperthreaded systems can generate
boottime RCU CPU stalls as a matter of course. This commit therefore
provides a kernel boot parameter that suppresses reporting of boottime
RCU CPU stall warnings and similarly of rcutorture writer stalls.

b2b00ddf19 rcu: React to callback overload by aggressively seeking quiescent states
In default configutions, RCU currently waits at least 100 milliseconds
before asking cond_resched() and/or resched_rcu() for help seeking
quiescent states to end a grace period. But 100 milliseconds can be
one good long time during an RCU callback flood, for example, as can
happen when user processes repeatedly open and close files in a tight
loop. These 100-millisecond gaps in successive grace periods during a
callback flood can result in excessive numbers of callbacks piling up,
unnecessarily increasing memory footprint.

This commit therefore asks cond_resched() and/or resched_rcu() for help
as early as the first FQS scan when at least one of the CPUs has more
than 20,000 callbacks queued, a number that can be changed using the new
rcutree.qovld kernel boot parameter. An auxiliary qovld_calc variable
is used to avoid acquisition of locks that have not yet been initialized.
Early tests indicate that this reduces the RCU-callback memory footprint
during rcutorture floods by from 50% to 4x, depending on configuration.
