Add support for the irq controller in Qualcomm 8xxx pmic. The 8xxx

Users may provide a table of GPIO register values in gpio_defaults[]. In

masked off, with a WM831X_GPIO_CONFIGURE define provided to set an out of

With the addition of a platform device mfd_cell pointer, MFD drivers

This allows for an mfd_cell->mfd_data removal and thus keep the sub drivers

We have decided that this function arbiter fits better in the MFD

it basically like this:

mv mach-ux500/include/mach/prcmu-defs.h include/linux/mfd/db8500-prcmu.h

mach-ux500/include/mach/prcmu.h >> include/linux/mfd/db8500-prcmu.h
rm arch/arm/mach-ux500/include/mach/prcmu.h

This patch enables IRQ handling for MAX8997/8966 chips.
Please note that Fuel-Gauge-related IRQs are not implemented in this
initial release. The fuel gauge module in MAX8997 is identical to
MAX17042, which is already in Linux kernel. In order to use the
already-existing MAX17042 driver for fuel gauge module in MAX8997, the
main interrupt handler of MAX8997 should relay related interrupts to
MAX17042 driver. However, in order to do this, we need to modify
MAX17042 driver as well because MAX17042 driver does not have any
interrupt handlers for now. We are not going to implement this in this

Replace mfd_shared_platform_driver_register with mfd_clone_cell. The
former was called by an mfd client, and registered both a platform driver
and device. The latter is called by an mfd driver, and registers only a
platform device.
The downside of this is that mfd drivers need to be modified whenever
new clients are added that share a cell; the upside is that it fits
Linux's driver model better. It's also simpler.
This also converts cs5535-mfd/olpc-xo1 from the old API. cs5535-mfd
now creates the olpc-xo1-{acpi,pms} devices, while olpc-xo1 binds to

This patch supports PMIC/Regulator part of MAX8997/MAX8966 MFD.
In this initial release, selecting voltages or current-limit
and switching on/off the regulators are supported.
Controlling voltages for DVS with GPIOs is not implemented fully
and requires more considerations: it controls multiple bucks (selection
of 1, 2, and 5) at the same time with SET1~3 gpios. Thus, when DVS-GPIO
is activated, we lose the ability to control the voltage of a single
buck regulator independently; i.e., contolling a buck affects other two
bucks. Therefore, using the conventional regulator framework directly
might be problematic. However, in this driver, we try to choose
a setting without such side effect of affecting other regulators and
then try to choose a setting with the minimum side effect (the sum of
voltage changes in other regulators).
On the other hand, controlling all the three bucks simultenously based
on the voltage set table may help build cpufreq and similar system
more robust; i.e., all the three voltages are consistent every time
without glitches during transition.

This revamps the interface so that AB8500 GPADCs are fetched by
name. Probed GPADCs are added to a list and this list is searched
for a matching GPADC. This makes it possible to have multiple
AB8500 GPADC instances instead of it being a singleton, and
rids the need to keep a GPADC pointer around in the core AB8500

Currently the match is made to the device name which is by default
numbered from the device instance such as "ab8500-gpadc.0" but
by using the .init_name field of the device a more intiutive
naming for the GPADC blocks can be achieved if desired.

This adds functions to enable platform_device sharing for mfd clients.
Each platform driver (mfd client) that wants to share an mfd_cell's
platform_device uses the mfd_shared_platform_driver_{un,}register()
functions instead of platform_driver_{un,}register(). Along with
registering the platform driver, these also register a new platform
device with the same characteristics as the original cell, but a different
name. Given an mfd_cell with the name "foo", drivers that want to
share access to its resources can call mfd_shared_platform_driver_register
with platform drivers named (for example) "bar" and "baz". This
will register two platform devices and drivers named "bar" and "baz"
that share the same cell as the platform device "foo". The drivers
can then call "foo" cell's enable hooks (or mfd_shared_cell_enable)
to enable resources, and obtain platform resources as they normally
would.
This deals with platform handling only; mfd driver-specific details,
hardware handling, refcounting, etc are all dealt with separately.

This provides convenience functions for sharing of cells across
multiple mfd clients. Mfd drivers can provide enable/disable hooks
to actually tweak the hardware, and clients can call
mfd_shared_cell_{en,dis}able without having to worry about whether
or not another client happens to have enabled or disabled the
cell/hardware.
Note that this is purely optional; drivers can continue to use
the mfd_cell's enable/disable hooks for their own purposes, if
desired.

Previously, one would set the mfd_cell's platform_data/data_size to point
to the current mfd_cell in order to pass that information along to drivers.
This causes the current mfd_cell to always be available to drivers. It
also adds a wrapper function for fetching the mfd cell from a platform
device, similar to what originally existed for mfd devices.
Drivers who previously used platform_data for other purposes can still
use it; the difference is that mfd_get_data() must be used to
access it (and the pdata structure is no longer allocated in
mfd_add_devices).
Note that mfd_get_data is intentionally vague (in name) about where
the data is stored; variable name changes can come later without having
to touch brazillions of drivers.

to support use cases such as audio passthrough from a cellular modem
with the main CPU suspended. Ensure that we don't power down the CODEC

suspend and resume when it is. If the CODEC has suspended then it'll

The first releases of LP3974 have a large delay in RTC registers,
which requires 2 seconds of delay after writing to a rtc register
(recommended by National Semiconductor's engineers)
before reading it.
If "rtc_delay" field of the platform data is true, the rtc driver
assumes that such delays are required. Although we have not seen
LP3974s without requiring such delays, we assume that such LP3974s
will be released soon (or they have done so already) and they are
supported by "lp3974" without setting "rtc_delay" at the platform
data.
This patch adds delays with msleep when writing values to RTC registers

out to a separate struct abx500_ops. In this way the interface
is moved from the implementation and the sub functionality drivers
can keep their interface intact when chip infrastructure and
communication mechanisms changes. We also define the AB3550
device IDs and the AB3550 platform data struct and convert
the catenated 32bit event to an array of 3 x 8bits.

The charger interrupts on the WM831x are unconditionally a wake source
for the system. If the power driver is not able to monitor them (for
example, due to the IRQ line not having been wired up on the system)
then any charger interrupt will prevent the system suspending for any
meaningful amount of time since nothing will ack them.
Avoid this issue by manually acknowledging these interrupts when we
suspend the WM831x core device if they are masked. If software is
actually using the interrupts then they will be unmasked and this
change will have no effect.

88PM8606 and 88PM8607 are two discrete chips used for power management.
Hardware designer can use them together or only one of them according to
requirement.
There's some logic tightly linked between these two chips. For example, USB
charger driver needs to access both chips by I2C interface.
Now share one driver to these two devices. Only one I2C client is identified
in platform init data. If another chip is also used, user should mark it in
companion_addr field of platform init data. Then driver could create another
I2C client for the companion chip.
All I2C operations are accessed by 860x-i2c driver. In order to support both
I2C client address, the read/write API is changed in below.
reg_read(client, offset)
reg_write(client, offset, data)
The benefit is that client drivers only need one kind of read/write API. I2C
and MFD driver can be shared in both 8606 and 8607.

GPO regulators are digital outputs that can be enabled or disabled by a
dedicated bit in mc13783 POWERMISC register.
In this family can be count in also Power Gates (PWGT1 and 2): enabled by
a dedicated pin a Power Gate is an hardware driven supply where the output
(PWGTnDRV) follow this law:
Bit PWGTxSPIEN | Pin PWGTxEN | PWGTxDRV | Read Back
0 = default | | | PWGTxSPIEN
---------------+-------------+----------+------------
1 | x | Low | 0
0 | 0 | High | 1
0 | 1 | Low | 0
As read back value of control bit reflects the PWGTxDRV state (not the
control value previously written) and mc13783 POWERMISC register contain
only regulator related bits, a dedicated function to manage these bits is
created here with the aim of tracing the real value of PWGTxSPIEN bits
and reproduce it on next writes.
All POWERMISC users _must_ use the new function to not accidentally
disable Power Gates supplies.
v2 changes:
-Better utilization of abstraction layers.
-Voltage query support. GPO's and PWGTxDRV are fixed voltage regulator
with voltage value of 3.1V and 5.5V respectively.

The BuckWise DC-DC convertors in WM831x devices support switching to
a second output voltage using the logic level on one of the device
pins. This is intended to allow rapid voltage switching for uses like
cpufreq, replacing the I2C or SPI write used to configure the voltage
of the regulator with a much faster GPIO status change.
This is implemented by keeping the DVS voltage configured as the
maximum voltage permitted for the regulator. If a request is made
for the maximum voltage then the GPIO is used to switch to the DVS
voltage, otherwise the normal ON voltage is updated and used. This
follows the idiom used by most cpufreq drivers, which drop the
minimum voltage as the core frequency is dropped but use a constant
maximum - raising the voltage should normally be fast, but lowering
it may be slower.
Configuration of the DVS MFP on the device should be done externally,
for example via OTP.
Support is present in the hardware for monitoring the status of the
transition using a second GPIO. This is not currently implemented
but platform data is provided for it - the driver currently assumes
that the device will be configured to transition immediately - but
platform data is provided to reduce merge issues once it is.

- simplify and fix locking
- better error handling
- don't ack all irqs making it impossible to detect a reset of the

- use a timeout variant to wait for completion of ADC conversion
- provide platform-data to regulator subdevice (This allows making
struct mc13783 opaque for other drivers after the regulator driver is

control to the SDHI driver. The idea is that board specific
code can provide their own functions so power can be enabled
and disabled for the sd-cards.

Current scheme is fragile and is likely to go off sync, especially on
batfull->adapter charging automatic MBC transition.
Query the status bit every time we need it instead.
We need to export another function to query for USB presence because
we can't read anything from PCF50633 (via I2C) inside irq context and
that is needed by usb gadgets.

After reaching Battery Full condition MBC state machine switches back
into charging mode when the battery voltage falls below 96% of a
battery float voltage. The voltage drop in Li-Ion batteries is
marginal (1-2%) till about 80% of its capacity - which means, after a
BATFULL, charging won't be restarted until 75-80%.
That is a desired behaviour recommended by battery manufacturers,
don't mess with it.

Implement a new sysfs attribute to allow changing MBC charging limit on
the fly independently of usb current limit. It also gets set
automatically every time usb current limit is changed.
Limiting charging current also prevents violating USB specification in
the case when the whole device is shut down and usb current limit is
reset to the factory default by the pcf50633 state transition.

New MFD child to twl4030 MFD device.
Reason for the twl4030_codec MFD: the vibra control is actually in the codec
part of the twl4030. If both the vibra and the audio functionality is needed
from the twl4030 at the same time, than they need to control the codec power
and APLL at the same time without breaking the other driver.
Also these two has to be able to work without the need for the other driver.
This MFD device will be used by the drivers, which needs resources
from the twl4030 codec like audio and vibra.
The platform specific configuration data is passed along to the
child drivers (audio, vibra).

This adds the _interruptible suffix to the AB3100 accessor
functions on par with mutex_lock_interruptible() that's used
for blocking simultaneous calls to the AB3100 acessor functions.
Since these accesses are slow on a 100kHz I2C bus and may line
up waiting for the mutex, we need to handle interruption by
system shutdown or kill signals and may just as well denote that
in the function names.

The WM831x series of devices provide three types of LDO:
- General purpose LDOs supporting voltages from 0.9-3.3V
- High performance analogue LDOs supporting voltages from 1-3.5V
- Very low power consumption LDOs intended to support always on
functionality.
This patch adds support for all three kinds of LDO. Each regulator
is probed as an individual platform device with resources used to
provide the register map location of the regulator. Mixed hardware
and software control of regulators is not current supported.

Add support for the GPIO pins on the WM831x. No direct support is
currently supplied for configuring non-gpiolib functionality such
as pull configuration and alternate functions, soft configuration
of these will be provided in a future patch.
Currently use of these pins as interrupts is not supported due to
the ongoing issues with generic irq not support interrupt controllers
on interrupt driven buses. Users can directly request the interrupts
with the wm831x-specific APIs currently provided if required.

The current settings which can be used with the WM831x current sinks
can't easily be mapped between register values and currents at run
time without a lookup table since the values scale logarithmically
to match the way the human eye interprets brightness. This lookup
table is inclided in the core since several drivers need to use it.

The WM831x series of devices use OTP (One Time Programmable, a type
of PROM) to store system configuration. At run time this data is
visible via registers.
Currently the only explicitly supported feature is that the unique
ID provided by every WM831x device is exported to user space via
sysfs. Other configuration data may be read by system-specific
code in the pre_init() and post_init() platform data operations.

current sink to use and a maximum current to allow them to function and
will actively interfere with other users of the regulators it uses if
misconfigured so only register the subdevice for it if this platform
data has been supplied.

The WM831x contains an auxiliary ADC with a number of switchable
inputs which is used to monitor some of the voltages and
temperatures in the system and has some external inputs which can be
used for machine specific purposes. Provide an API allowing drivers
to read values from the ADC.
An internal reference voltage is provided to allow callibration of
the ADC. This is used to calibrate the device at startup.
The hardware also supports continuous readings and digital comparators.
These are not yet supported by the driver.

The WM831x includes an interrupt controller managing interrupts for
the various functions on the chip. This patch adds support for the
core interrupt block on the device.
Ideally this would be supported by genirq, particularly for the
GPIOs, but currently genirq is unable to cope with controllers on
interrupt driven buses so we cut'n'paste the generic interface.
Once genirq is able to cope chips like this it should be a case
of filing the prefixes off the code and redoing wm831x-irq.c to
move over.

Provide basic support for MFDs having multiple cells of a given
type with different IDs by adding an id to the mfd_cell structure
and then adding that to the id passed in to mfd_add_devices().
As it stands this approach requires that MFDs using this feature
deal with ensuring that there aren't any ID collisions resulting
from multiple MFDs of the same type being instantiated. This needs
to happen with the existing code too, but with this approach there
is a knock on effect on the IDs for non-duplicated devices.
