If ge_b850v3_lvds_init() does not allocate memory for ge_b850v3_lvds_ptr,
then a null pointer dereference is accessed.
The patch adds checking of the return value of ge_b850v3_lvds_init().
Found by Linux Driver Verification project (linuxtesting.org).

Add very basic driver for Toshiba TC358762 DSI-to-DPI bridge, derived
from tc358764 driver and panel-raspberrypi-touchscreen. This driver is
meant to replace the panel-raspberrypi-touchscreen too, as the bridge
connection can be described in DT too.

In case of error during resource acquisition driver should print error
message only in case it is not deferred probe, using dev_err_probe helper
solves the issue. Moreover it records defer probe reason for debugging.

With the bridge operations implemented the last step to prepare
this driver for a chained setup is the use of the bridge panel driver.
The bridge panel driver is only used when a port@2 is present in
the DT. So when the display driver requests a connector
support both situations:
- connector created by bridge panel driver
- connector created by this driver
And on top, support that the display driver creates the connector,
which is the preferred setup.
Note: the bridge panel will use the connector type from the panel.

Prepare the bridge driver for use in a chained setup by
replacing direct use of drm_panel with drm_panel_bridge support.
The connecter is now either created by the panel bridge or the display
driver. So all code for connector creation in this driver is no longer
relevant and thus dropped.
The connector code had some special polling handling:
connector.polled = DRM_CONNECTOR_POLL_HPD;
drm_helper_hpd_irq_event(ps8622->bridge.dev);
This code was most likely added to speed up detection of the connector.
If really needed then this functionality belongs somewhere else.
Note: the bridge panel will use the connector type from the panel.

Prepare the tc358764 bridge driver for use in a chained setup by
replacing direct use of drm_panel with drm_panel_bridge support.
The bridge panel will use the connector type reported by the panel,
where the connector for this driver hardcodes DRM_MODE_CONNECTOR_LVDS.
The tc358764 did not add any additional info the the connector so the
connector creation is passed to the bridge panel driver.

Drop drm_connector handling that is not needed:
- drm_dev_register() in the display controller driver takes
care of registering connectors.
So the call to drm_connector_register() call is not needed in the bridge
driver.
- Use of drm_connector_unregister() is only required for drivers that
explicit have called drm_dev_register.
- The reference counting using drm_connector_put() is likewise not needed.

After the drm_bridge_connector_init() helper function has been added,
the ADV driver has been changed accordingly. However, the 'type'
field of the bridge structure was left unset, which makes the helper
function always return -EINVAL.

Using uninitialized_var() is dangerous as it papers over real bugs[1]
(or can in the future), and suppresses unrelated compiler warnings
(e.g. "unused variable"). If the compiler thinks it is uninitialized,
either simply initialize the variable or make compiler changes.
In preparation for removing[2] the[3] macro[4], remove all remaining
needless uses with the following script:

It doesn't hurt to add the bridge in the global bridge list also for
platform specific dw-hdmi drivers which are based on the component
framework. This can be achieved by moving the drm_bridge_add() function
call from dw_hdmi_probe() to __dw_hdmi_probe(). A counterpart movement
for drm_bridge_remove() is also needed then. Moreover, since drm_bridge_add()
initializes &bridge->hpd_mutex, this may help those platform specific
dw-hdmi drivers(based on the component framework) avoid accessing the
uninitialized mutex in drm_bridge_hpd_notify() which is called in
dw_hdmi_irq(). Putting drm_bridge_add() in __dw_hdmi_probe() just before
it returns successfully should bring no logic change for platforms based
on the DRM bridge API, which is a good choice from safety point of view.
Also, __dw_hdmi_probe() is renamed to dw_hdmi_probe() since dw_hdmi_probe()
does nothing else but calling __dw_hdmi_probe(). Similar renaming applies
to the __dw_hdmi_remove()/dw_hdmi_remove() pair.

ti-sn65dsi86 bridge is enumerated as a runtime device. When
suspend is triggered, PM core adds a refcount on all the
devices and calls device suspend, since usage count is
already incremented, runtime suspend will not be called
and it kept the bridge regulators and gpios ON which resulted
in platform not entering into XO shutdown.
Add changes to force suspend on the runtime device during pm sleep.

Implement the drm_bridge_funcs .detect() and .get_edid() operations, and
call drm_bridge_hpd_notify() notify to report HPD. This provides the
necessary API to support disabling connector creation, do so by
accepting DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR in dw_hdmi_bridge_attach().

To prepare for making connector creation optional in the driver, pass
the drm_connector explicitly to the internal functions that require it.
The functions that still access the connector from the dw_hdmi structure
are dw_hdmi_connector_create() and __dw_hdmi_probe(). The former access
is expected, as that's where the internal connector is created. The
latter will be addressed separately.

Store the connector that the bridge is currently wired to in the dw_hdmi
structure. This is currently identical to the connector field, but will
differ once the driver supports disabling connector creation.

Several internal functions take a drm_display_mode argument to configure
the HDMI encoder or the HDMI PHY. They must not modify the mode, make
the pointer const to enforce that.

Replace the drm_connector pointer passed to the .mode_valid() function
with a const drm_display_info pointer, as that's all the function should
need. Use the display info passed to the bridge .mode_valid() operation
instead of retrieving it from the connector, to prepare for make
connector creation optional.

The .configure_phy() operation takes a dw_hdmi_plat_data pointer as a
context argument. This differs from .mode_valid() that takes a custom
private context pointer, causing possible confusion. Make the
dw_hdmi_plat_data operations more consistent by passing the private
context pointer to .configure_phy() as well.
