ea125dedbc This is the bulk of GPIO changes for the v4.18 development
cycle.

 Core changes:

 - We have killed off VLA from the core library and all drivers.
The background should be clear for everyone at this point:
   https://lwn.net/Articles/749064/
Also I just don't like VLA's, kernel developers hate it when
compilers do things behind their back. It's as simple as that.
I'm sorry that they even slipped in to begin with.
Kudos to Laura Abbott for exorcising them.

 - Support GPIO hogs in machines/board files.

 New drivers and chip support:

 - R-Car r8a77470 (RZ/G1C)
 - R-Car r8a77965 (M3-N)
 - R-Car r8a77990 (E3)
 - PCA953x driver improvements to accomodate more variants.

 Improvements and new features:

 - Support one interrupt per line on port A in the DesignWare
   dwapb driver.

 Misc:

 - Random cleanups, right header files in the drivers, some
   size optimizations etc.

and the proper media kAPIs or to be removed

 - remove videobuf-dvb driver, with is unused for a while

 - some V4L2 documentation fixes/improvements

 - new sensor drivers: imx258 and ov7251

 - a new driver was added to allow using I2C transparent drivers

 - several improvements at the ddbridge driver

 - several improvements at the ISDB pt1 driver, making it more coherent
   with the DVB framework

 - added a new platform driver for MIPI CSI-2 RX: cadence

 - now, all media drivers can be compiled on x86 with COMPILE_TEST

 - almost all media drivers now build on non-x86 architectures with
   COMPILE_TEST

 - lots of other random stuff: cleanups, support for new board models,
   bug fixes, etc

02f6bf8717 gpio: dwapb: Fix rework support for 1 interrupt per port A GPIO
Commit da069d5d2b ("gpio: dwapb: Rework
support for 1 interrupt per port A GPIO"), was an incremental patch that
was supposed to provide the delta between v5 and v6 patch set for
adding support for 1 interupt per port A GPIO. v5 was applied, then some
other feedback came afterwards.

However, in my haste I managed to drop the changes made to dwapb_port_property
struct. This patch includes those missing changes.

bf3c592b9d net: dsa: b53: Extend platform data to include DSA ports
The b53 driver already defines and internally uses platform data to let the
glue drivers specify parameters such as the chip id. What we were missing was
a way to tell the core DSA layer about the ports and their type.

Place a dsa_chip_data structure at the beginning of b53_platform_data for
dsa_register_switch() to access it. This does not require modifications to
b53_common.c which will pass platform_data trough.

e6ca26abd3 gpio: dwapb: Add support for 1 interrupt per port A GPIO
The DesignWare GPIO IP can be configured for either 1 interrupt or 1
per GPIO in port A, but the driver currently only supports 1 interrupt.
See the DesignWare DW_apb_gpio Databook description of the
'GPIO_INTR_IO' parameter.

This change allows the driver to work with up to 32 interrupts, it will
get as many interrupts as specified in the DT 'interrupts' property.
It doesn't do anything clever with the different interrupts, it just calls
the same handler used for single interrupt hardware.

Add a CEC driver for the TDA9950, which is a stand-alone I2C CEC device,

The TDA9950 contains a command processor which handles retransmissions

it. The MDIO core will also initialise the new bus such that all
addresses are polled, so remove the unneeded re-initialisation.

8b4aa4d8dc media: mmp-camera.h: add missing platform data
Those definitions used to be part of the original patch:
	https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/2815221/

But, somehow, nobody ever noticed until today. Years later,
Arnd discovered that mmp-camera driver doesn't build and make
it depend on BROKEN.

Add the missing bits here, in order to remove BROKEN dependency.

ca4e7c5120 The large diff this time around is from the addition of a new clk driver
for the TI Davinci family of SoCs. So far those clks have been supported
with a custom implementation of the clk API in the arch port instead of in
the CCF. With this driver merged we're one step closer to having a single
 clk API implementation.

The other large diff is from the Amlogic clk driver that underwent some
major surgery to use regmap. Beyond that, the biggest hitter is Samsung
which needed some reworks to properly handle clk provider power domains
and a bunch of PLL rate updates.

The core framework was fairly quiet this round, just getting some cleanups

set of driver non-critical fixes, cleanups, and minor additions are here as
 well.

 Core:
  - Rejig clk_ops::init() to be a little earlier for phase/accuracy ops
  - debugfs ops macroized to shave some lines of boilerplate code
  - Always calculate the phase instead of caching it in clk_get_phase()

167569343f ARM: SoC platform updates for 4.17
This release brings up a new platform based on the old ARM9 core: the
Nuvoton NPCM is used as a baseboard management controller, competing
with the better known ASpeed AST2xx series.

Another important change is the addition of ARMv7-A based chips
in mach-stm32. The older parts in this platform are ARMv7-M based
microcontrollers, now they are expanding to general-purpose workloads.

The other changes are the usual defconfig updates to enable additional
drivers, lesser bugfixes. The largest updates as often are the ongoing
OMAP cleanups, but we also have a number of changes for the older
PXA and davinci platforms this time.

For the Renesas shmobile/r-car platform, some new infrastructure
is needed to make the watchdog work correctly.

Supporting Multiprocessing on Allwinner A80 required a significant
amount of new code, but is not doing anything unexpected.

Merge tag 'armsoc-soc' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc

Pull ARM SoC platform updates from Arnd Bergmann:
"This release brings up a new platform based on the old ARM9 core: the
Nuvoton NPCM is used as a baseboard management controller, competing
with the better known ASpeed AST2xx series.

Another important change is the addition of ARMv7-A based chips in
mach-stm32. The older parts in this platform are ARMv7-M based
microcontrollers, now they are expanding to general-purpose workloads.

The other changes are the usual defconfig updates to enable additional
drivers, lesser bugfixes. The largest updates as often are the ongoing
OMAP cleanups, but we also have a number of changes for the older PXA
  and davinci platforms this time.

For the Renesas shmobile/r-car platform, some new infrastructure is
needed to make the watchdog work correctly.

Supporting Multiprocessing on Allwinner A80 required a significant
amount of new code, but is not doing anything unexpected"

ef0f62264b platform/x86: mlx-platform: Add physical bus number auto detection
mlx-platform does not provide a bus number to i2c-mlxcpld, assuming it
is always one. On some x86 systems, other i2c drivers may probe before
i2c-mlxcpld, causing bus one to be busy.

Make mlx-platform determine which adapter number is free prior to
activating i2c-mlxpld, adjusting the mux base numbers accordingly.
Update the mlxreg-hotplug pdata similarly.

This adds an explicit mlx-platform build dependency on I2C, update the
Kconfig accordingly. Add the missing REGMAP dependency while we're at
it.

d726f6b199 platform/x86: mlx-platform: Add deffered bus functionality
mlx-platform activates i2c-mux-reg, which creates buses needed by
mlxreg-hotplug. If the mlxreg-hotplug probe runs before the i2c-mux-reg
probe completes, it may attempt to connect a device to an adapter number
that has not been created yet, and fail.

Make mlx-platform driver record the highest bus number in mlxreg-hotplug
platform data and defer mlxreg-hotplug probe until all the buses are
created.

2d17269151 clk: davinci: New driver for davinci PLL clocks
This adds a new driver for mach-davinci PLL clocks. This is porting the
code from arch/arm/mach-davinci/clock.c to the common clock framework.
Additionally, it adds device tree support for these clocks.

The ifeq ($(CONFIG_COMMON_CLK), y) in the Makefile is needed to prevent
compile errors until the clock code in arch/arm/mach-davinci is removed.

Note: although there are similar clocks for TI Keystone we are not able
to share the code for a few reasons. The keystone clocks are device tree
only and use legacy one-node-per-clock bindings. Also the register
layouts are a bit different, which would add even more if/else mess
to the keystone clocks. And the keystone PLL driver doesn't support
setting clock rates.

3bf5c70d06 Driver changes for ti-sysc for v4.17
This series of changes enables the use device tree based sysconfig
data for ti-sysc driver. As we already have SmartReflex data configured,
we use that as the first driver to enable. To do that in a way where
SmartReflex is not probed twice, we need to prepare the SmartReflex
driver before flipping dts data on for it in the last patch of the
 series.

To avoid regressions, we are checking the passed dts data against
existing platform data since we still have it available. Then after the
dts files are converted, we can simply drop the related platform data
at some point in the future.

7b80bd2948 SoC changes for omaps for v4.17
This series is mostly a series from Suman Anna to remove now unused
platform data that is now coming from device tree. This also make it
a bit simpler to move the timer code to live under drivers in a
separate series of patches. There are also few minor clean-ups for
 omap4 PM code.

7576594c8e mtd: nand: remove useless fields from pxa3xx NAND platform data
The "enable arbiter" bit is available only for pxa3xx based platforms
but it was experimentally shown that even if this bit is reserved,
some Marvell platforms (64-bit) actually need it to be set. The driver
always set this bit regardless of this property, which is harmless.
Then this property is not needed.

The "num_cs" field is always 1 and for a good reason, the old driver
(pxa3xx_nand.c) could only handle one. The new driver that replaces it
(marvell_nand.c) can handle more, but better use device tree for such
description. As there is only one available chip select, there is no
need for an array of partitions neither an array of partition numbers.

41d9d44d72 ARM: OMAP2+: pm33xx-core: Add platform code needed for PM
Most of the PM code needed for am335x and am437x can be moved into a
module under drivers but some core code must remain in mach-omap2 at the
moment. This includes some internal clockdomain APIs and low-level ARM
APIs which are also not exported for use by modules.

Implement a few functions that handle these low-level platform
operations can be passed to the pm33xx module through the use of
platform data.

In addition to this, to be able to share data structures between C and
the sleep33xx and sleep43xx assembly code, we can automatically generate
all of the C struct member offsets and sizes as macros by processing
pm-asm-offsets.c into assembly code and then extracting the relevant
data as is done for the generated platform asm-offsets.h files.

Finally, add amx3_common_pm_init to create a dummy platform_device for
pm33xx so that our soon to be introduced pm33xx module can probe on
am335x and am437x platforms to enable basic suspend to mem and standby
support.

a885f0fe20 bus: ti-sysc: Handle some devices in omap_device compatible way
Now that ti-sysc can manage child devices, we must also be backwards
compatible with the current omap_device code. With omap_device, we
assume that the child device manages the interconnect target module
directly.

The drivers needing special handling are the ones that still set
pm_runtime_irq_safe(). In the long run we want to update those drivers
as otherwise they will cause problems with genpd as a permanent PM
runtime usage count is set on the parent device.

We can handle omap_device these devices by improving the ti-sysc quirk
handling to detect the devices needing special handling based on
register map and revision register if usable. We also need to implement
dev_pm_domain for these child devices just like omap_device does.

ef70b0bdea bus: ti-sysc: Add support for platform data callbacks
We want to pass the device tree configuration for interconnect target
modules from ti-sysc driver to the existing platform hwmod code.

This allows us to first validate the dts data against the existing
platform data before we start dropping the platform data in favor of
device tree data.

To do this, let's add platform data callbacks for PM runtime functions
to call for the interconnect target modules if platform data is
available.

Note that as ti-sysc driver can rebind, omap_auxdata_lookup and related
functions can no longer be __init.

bdec5a6b57 ARM: da8xx: use platform data for CFGCHIP syscon regmap
This converts from using a platform device for the CFGCHIP syscon
regmap to using platform data to pass the regmap to consumers.

A lazy getter function is used so that the regmap will only be
created if it is actually used. This function will also be used
in the clock init when we convert to the common clock framework.

The USB PHY driver is currently the only consumer. This driver is
updated to use platform data to get the CFGCHIP regmap instead of
syscon_regmap_lookup_by_pdevname().

3879ae653a The core framework has a handful of patches this time around, mostly due
to the clk rate protection support added by Jerome Brunet. This feature
will allow consumers to lock in a certain rate on the output of a clk so
that things like audio playback don't hear pops when the clk frequency
changes due to shared parent clks changing rates. Currently the clk
API doesn't guarantee the rate of a clk stays at the rate you request
after clk_set_rate() is called, so this new API will allow drivers
to express that requirement. Beyond this, the core got some debugfs
pretty printing patches and a couple minor non-critical fixes.

Looking outside of the core framework diff we have some new driver
additions and the removal of a legacy TI clk driver. Both of these hit
high in the dirstat. Also, the removal of the asm-generic/clkdev.h file
causes small one-liners in all the architecture Kbuild files. Overall, the
driver diff seems to be the normal stuff that comes all the time to
fix little problems here and there and to support new hardware.

  - Qualcomm A53 PLL, SPMI clkdiv, and MSM8916 APCS
  - Amlogic Meson-AXG

 Removed Drivers:
  - TI OMAP 3xxx legacy clk (non-DT) support
  - asm*/clkdev.h got removed (not really a driver)

high in the dirstat. Also, the removal of the asm-generic/clkdev.h
file causes small one-liners in all the architecture Kbuild files.

Overall, the driver diff seems to be the normal stuff that comes all
the time to fix little problems here and there and to support new
  hardware.

  Summary:

  Core:
   - Clk rate protection
   - Symbolic clk flags in debugfs output
   - Clk registration enabled clks while doing bookkeeping updates

  New Drivers:
   - Spreadtrum SC9860
   - HiSilicon hi3660 stub
   - Qualcomm A53 PLL, SPMI clkdiv, and MSM8916 APCS
   - Amlogic Meson-AXG
   - ASPEED BMC

  Removed Drivers:
   - TI OMAP 3xxx legacy clk (non-DT) support
   - asm*/clkdev.h got removed (not really a driver)

  Updates:
   - Renesas FDP1-0 module clock on R-Car M3-W
   - Renesas LVDS module clock on R-Car V3M
   - Misc fixes to pr_err() prints
   - Qualcomm MSM8916 audio fixes
   - Qualcomm IPQ8074 rounded out support for more peripherals
   - Qualcomm Alpha PLL variants
   - Divider code was using container_of() on bad pointers
   - Allwinner DE2 clks on H3
   - Amlogic minor data fixes and dropping of CLK_IGNORE_UNUSED
   - Mediatek clk driver compile test support
   - AT91 PMC clk suspend/resume restoration support
   - PLL issues fixed on si5351
   - Broadcom IProc PLL calculation updates
   - DVFS support for Armada mvebu CPU clks
   - Allwinner fixed post-divider support
   - TI clkctrl fixes and support for newer SoCs"
