120010cb1e tools build: Add test for sched_getcpu()
Instead of trying to go on adding more ifdef conditions, do a feature
test and define HAVE_SCHED_GETCPU_SUPPORT instead, then use it to
provide the prototype. No need to change the stub, as it is already a
__weak symbol.

99620a5d0c perf tools: Introduce timestamp__scnprintf_usec()
Joonwoo reported that there's a mismatch between timestamps in script
and sched commands.  This was because of difference in printing the
timestamp.  Factor out the code and share it so that they can be in
sync.  Also I found that sched map has similar problem, fix it too.

Committer notes:

Fixed the max_lat_at bug introduced by Namhyung's original patch, as
pointed out by Joonwoo, and made it a function following the scnprintf()
model, i.e. returning the number of bytes formatted, and receiving as
the first parameter the object from where the data to the formatting is
obtained, renaming it from:

   char *timestamp_in_usec(char *bf, size_t size, u64 timestamp)

to

   int timestamp__scnprintf_usec(u64 timestamp, char *bf, size_t size)

Make the 'perf list' glob matching for vendor events case insensitive.
This allows to use the upper case vendor events with perf list too.

Now the following works:

c8b5f2c96d tools: Introduce str_error_r()
The tools so far have been using the strerror_r() GNU variant, that
returns a string, be it the buffer passed or something else.

But that, besides being tricky in cases where we expect that the
function using strerror_r() returns the error formatted in a provided
buffer (we have to check if it returned something else and copy that
instead), breaks the build on systems not using glibc, like Alpine
Linux, where musl libc is used.

So, introduce yet another wrapper, str_error_r(), that has the GNU
interface, but uses the portable XSI variant of strerror_r(), so that
users rest asured that the provided buffer is used and it is what is
returned.

a29d5c9b81 perf tools: Separate accounting of contexts and real addresses in a stack trace
The perf_sample->ip_callchain->nr value includes all the entries in the
ip_callchain->ip[] array, real addresses and PERF_CONTEXT_{KERNEL,USER,etc},
while what the user expects is that what is in the kernel.perf_event_max_stack
sysctl or in the upcoming per event perf_event_attr.sample_max_stack knob be
honoured in terms of IP addresses in the stack trace.

So match the kernel support and validate chain->nr taking into account
both kernel.perf_event_max_stack and kernel.perf_event_max_contexts_per_stack.

4cb93446c5 perf tools: Set the maximum allowed stack from /proc/sys/kernel/perf_event_max_stack
There is an upper limit to what tooling considers a valid callchain,
and it was tied to the hardcoded value in the kernel,
PERF_MAX_STACK_DEPTH (127), now that this can be tuned via a sysctl,
make it read it and use that as the upper limit, falling back to
PERF_MAX_STACK_DEPTH for kernels where this sysctl isn't present.

e1ce726e1d perf tools: Add lsdir() helper to read a directory
As a utility function, add lsdir() which reads given directory and store
entry name into a strlist.  lsdir accepts a filter function so that user
can filter out unneeded entries.

d3e0ce3930 perf bpf: Improve BPF related error messages
A series of bpf loader related error codes were introduced to help error
reporting. Functions were improved to return these new error codes.

Functions which return pointers were adjusted to encode error codes into
return value using the ERR_PTR() interface.

bpf_loader_strerror() was improved to convert these error messages to
strings. It checks the error codes and calls libbpf_strerror() and
strerror_r() accordingly, so caller don't need to consider checking the
range of the error code.

In bpf__strerror_load(), print kernel version of running kernel and the
object's 'version' section to notify user how to fix his/her program.

 Fetch error message based on array index, eliminate for-loop.

However it'd be better to see them only -v option is given.  To do that,
it needs to override the warning() function which is used in the

2f84b42b28 perf tools: Always use non inlined file name for 'srcfile' sort key
When profiling the kernel with the 'srcfile' sort key it's common to
"get stuck" in include. For example a lot of code uses current or other
inlines, so they get accounted to some random include file. This is not
very useful as a high level categorization.

For example just profiling the idle loop usually shows mostly inlines,
so you never see the actual cpuidle file.

This patch changes the 'srcfile' sort key to always unwind the inline
stack using BFD/DWARF. So we always account to the base function that
called the inline.

In a few cases include is still shown (for example for MSR accesses),
but that is because they get inlining expanded as part of assigning to a
global function pointer. For the majority it works fine though.

v2: Use simpler while loop. Add maximum iteration count.

a9710ba091 perf tools: Support full source file paths for srcline
For perf report/script srcline currently only the base file name of the
source file is printed. This is a good default because it usually fits
on the screen.

But in some cases we want to know the full file name, for example to
aggregate hits per file.

In the later case we need more than the base file name to resolve file
naming collisions: for example the kernel source has ~70 files named
"core.c"

It's also useful as input to post processing tools which want to point
to the right file.

Add a flag to allow full file name output.

Add an option to perf report/script to enable this option.

incorrect on ARM:
