drm/vc4: Add a debugfs entry to disable/enable the load tracker
In order to test whether the load tracker is working as expected, we
need the ability to compare the commit result with the underrun
indication. With the load tracker always enabled, commits that are
expected to trigger an underrun are always rejected, so userspace
cannot get the actual underrun indication from the hardware.

Add a debugfs entry to disable/enable the load tracker, so that a DRM
commit expected to trigger an underrun can go through with the load
tracker disabled. The underrun indication is then available to
userspace and can be checked against the commit result with the load
tracker enabled.

drm/vc4: Add a load tracker to prevent HVS underflow errors
The HVS block is supposed to fill the pixelvalve FIFOs fast enough to
meet the requested framerate. The problem is, the HVS and memory bus
bandwidths are limited, and if we don't take these limitations into
account we might end up with HVS underflow errors.

This patch is trying to model the per-plane HVS and memory bus bandwidth
consumption and take a decision at atomic_check() time whether the
estimated load will fit in the HVS and membus budget.

Note that we take an extra margin on the memory bus consumption to let
the system run smoothly when other blocks are doing heavy use of the
memory bus. Same goes for the HVS limit, except the margin is smaller in
this case, since the HVS is not used by external components.

fcd70cd36b drm: Split out drm_probe_helper.h
Having the probe helper stuff (which pretty much everyone needs) in
the drm_crtc_helper.h file (which atomic drivers should never need) is
confusing. Split them out.

To make sure I actually achieved the goal here I went through all
drivers. And indeed, all atomic drivers are now free of
drm_crtc_helper.h includes.

v2: Make it compile. There was so much compile fail on arm drivers
that I figured I'll better not include any of the acks on v1.

v3: Massive rebase because i915 has lost a lot of drmP.h includes, but
not all: Through drm_crtc_helper.h > drm_modeset_helper.h -> drmP.h
there was still one, which this patch largely removes. Which means
rolling out lots more includes all over.

This will also conflict with ongoing drmP.h cleanup by others I
expect.

v3: Rebase on top of atomic bochs.

v4: Review from Laurent for bridge/rcar/omap/shmob/core bits:
- (re)move some of the added includes, use the better include files in
  other places (all suggested from Laurent adopted unchanged).
- sort alphabetically

v5: Actually try to sort them, and while at it, sort all the ones I
touch.

v6: Rebase onto i915 changes.

v7: Rebase once more.

233386d8f2 drm/vc4: Use drm_fbdev_generic_setup()
The CMA helper is already using the drm_fb_helper_generic_probe part of
the generic fbdev emulation. This patch makes full use of the generic
fbdev emulation by using its drm_client callbacks. This means that
drm_mode_config_funcs->output_poll_changed and drm_driver->lastclose are
now handled by the emulation code. Additionally fbdev unregister happens
automatically on drm_dev_unregister().

The drm_fbdev_generic_setup() call is put after drm_dev_register() in the
driver. This is done to highlight the fact that fbdev emulation is an
internal client that makes use of the driver, it is not part of the
driver as such. If fbdev setup fails, an error is printed, but the driver
succeeds probing.

drm_fbdev_generic_setup() handles mode_config.num_connector being zero.
In that case it retries fbdev setup on the next .output_poll_changed.

184d3cf4f7 drm/vc4: Use wait_for_flip_done() instead of wait_for_vblanks()
drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_vblanks() assumes the CRTC will continuously
generate VBLANK events and the vblank counter will keep increasing.
While this work for a regular pipeline, it doesn't when you have the
CRTC is feeding the transposer block, because this block works in
oneshot mode, and, by the time we reach
drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_vblanks() the only VBLANK event might have
already been sent and the VBLANK counter will stay unchanged, thus
triggering a timeout.

Luckily, we can replace the drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_vblanks() call
by drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_flip_done() because the only thing we
want to check when calling drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_vblanks() from
vc4_atomic_complete_commit() is that new FBs are in use and the old
ones can be safely released.

I used the following coccinelle hack to make this transformation, except

0853695c3b drm: Add reference counting to drm_atomic_state
drm_atomic_state has a complicated single owner model that tracks the
single reference from allocation through to destruction on another
thread - or perhaps on a local error path. We can simplify this tracking
by using reference counting (at a cost of a few more atomics). This is
even more beneficial when the lifetime of the state becomes more
convoluted than being passed to a single worker thread for the commit.

2b58e98d42 drm/atomic-helper: Add NO_DISABLE_AFTER_MODESET flag support for plane commit
Drivers may set the NO_DISABLE_AFTER_MODESET flag in the 'flags' parameter
of the helper drm_atomic_helper_commit_planes() if the relevant display
controllers(e.g., IPUv3 for imx-drm) require to disable a CRTC's planes
when the CRTC is disabled. The helper would skip the ->atomic_disable
call for a plane if the CRTC of the old plane state needs a modesetting
operation. Of course, the drivers need to disable the planes in their CRTC
disable callbacks since no one else would do that.

    drm: Rework vblank-wait handling to allow interrupt reduction.

to stay backwards-compatible with old UMS code that didn't even tell
the kernel when it did a modeset, so that the kernel could
save/restore vblank counters. At worst this means vblanks will be
somewhat funky on a setup that very likely no one still runs.

So let's just nuke it.

Plan B would be to set it unconditionally in drm_vblank_init for kms
drivers, instead of in each driver separately. So if this patch breaks
anything please only restore the hunks in drmP.h and drm_irq.c, plus
add a check for DRIVER_MODESET in drm_vblank_init.

Stumbled over this in a discussion on irc with Chris.

6674a904d6 drm/vc4: Add a proper short-circut path for legacy cursor updates.
Previously, on every modeset we would allocate new display list
memory, recompute changed planes, write all of them to the new memory,
and pointed scanout at the new list (which will latch approximately at
the next line of scanout). We let
drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_vblanks() decide whether we needed to wait
for a vblank after a modeset before cleaning up the old state and
letting the next modeset proceed, and on legacy cursor updates we
wouldn't wait. If you moved the cursor fast enough, we could
potentially wrap around the display list memory area and overwrite the
existing display list while it was still being scanned out, resulting
in the HVS scanning out garbage or just halting.

Instead of making cursor updates wait for scanout to move to the new
display list area (which introduces significant cursor lag in X), we
just rewrite our current display list.
