4606780352 ARM: tegra: move debug-macro.S to include/debug
Move Tegra's debug-macro.S over to the common debug macro directory.

Move Tegra's debug UART selection menu into ARM's Kconfig.debug, so that
all related options are selected in the same place.

Tegra's uncompress.h is left in mach-tegra/include/mach; it will be
removed whenever Tegra is converted to multi-platform.

49c9e60eaa ARM: imx6q: let users input debug uart port number
imx6q gets 5 uart ports in total. Different board design may choose
different port as debug uart. For example, imx6q-sabresd uses UART1,
imx6q-sabrelite uses UART2 and imx6q-arm2 uses UART4. Rather than
bloating DEBUG_LL choice list with all these uart ports, the patch
introduces DEBUG_IMX6Q_UART_PORT for users to input uart port number
when DEBUG_IMX6Q_UART is selected inside DEBUG_LL choice.

The main UART on the Xilinx ZC702 board is UART1, located at address
e0001000. Add a Kconfig option to select this device as the low-level
debugging port. This allows the really early boot printouts to reach
the USB serial adaptor on this board.

For consistency's sake, add a choice entry for UART0 even though it is
the the default if UART1 is not selected.

6dde5ac522 ARM: imx: move debug macros to include/debug
Move imx debug-macro.S over to common debug macro directory. It
removes the inclusion to hardware.h by hard-coding the physical
address of uart port and copying IMX_IO_P2V from hardware.h.

Since we will need a common solution, which might use a fixed virtual
address for uart port across platforms, we make a copy of IMX_IO_P2V
here as a temporary solution to enable low-level debug for imx
multi-platform build.

9cd11c0c47 ARM: soc: multiplatform enablement
This is a pretty significant branch. It's the introduction of the
first multiplatform support on ARM, and with this (and the later
branch) merged, it is now possible to build one kernel that contains
support for highbank, vexpress, mvebu, socfpga, and picoxcell. More
platforms will be convered over in the next few releases.

Two critical last things had to be done for this to be practical and
 possible:
 * Today each platform has its own include directory under
mach-<mach>/include/mach/*, and traditionally that is where a lot of
driver/platform shared definitions have gone, such as platform data
structures. They now need to move out to a common location instead,
and this branch moves a large number of those out to
   include/linux/platform_data.
 * Each platform used to list the device trees to compile for its
   boards in mach-<mach>/Makefile.boot.

Both of the above changes will mean that there are some merge
conflicts to come (and some to resolve here). It's a one-time move and
once it settles in, we should be good for quite a while. Sorry for the
 overhead.

387798b37c ARM: initial multiplatform support
This lets us build a multiplatform kernel for experimental purposes.
However, it will not be useful for any real work, because it relies
on a number of useful things to be disabled for now:

* SMP support must be turned off because of conflicting symbols.
Marc Zyngier has proposed a solution by adding a new SOC
operations structure to hold indirect function pointers
for these, but that work is currently stalled

* We turn on SPARSE_IRQ unconditionally, which is not supported
on most platforms. Each of them is currently in a different
state, but most are being worked on.

* A common clock framework is in place since v3.4 but not yet
being used. Work on this is on its way.

* DEBUG_LL for early debugging is currently disabled.

* THUMB2_KERNEL does not work with allyesconfig because the
  kernel gets too big

[Rob Herring]: Rebased to not be dependent on the mass mach header rename.
As a result, omap2plus, imx, mxs and ux500 are not converted. Highbank,
picoxcell, mvebu, and socfpga are converted.

1b820eaf42 ARM: vexpress: Config option for early printk console
Versatile Express platform can be used in different configurations,
the console UART used by early printk may be located at different

This patch makes it possible to select the base address of a PL011

The default behaviour is still the heuristic detecting memory map
on Cortex-A core tiles.

575320d625 ARM: 7445/1: mm: update CONTEXTIDR register to contain PID of current process
This patch introduces a new Kconfig option which, when enabled, causes
the kernel to write the PID of the current task into the PROCID field
of the CONTEXTIDR on context switch. This is useful when analysing
hardware trace, since writes to this register can be configured to emit
an event into the trace stream.

The thread notifier for writing the PID is deliberately kept separate
from the ASID-writing code so that we can support newer processors using
LPAE, where the ASID is stored in TTBR0. As such, the switch_mm code is
updated to perform a read-modify-write sequence to ensure that we don't
clobber the PID on CPUs using the classic 2-level page tables.

4f5ef9226a ARM: 7073/1: debug: augment DEBUG_LL Kconfig help to clarify behaviour
Enabled DEBUG_LL hardcodes the UART address into the kernel and results
in a non-portable kernel image. Since this option is only intended for
use when debugging early boot failures, supporting multiple platforms
in such a configuration is not the intended use-case.

This patch documents this limitation in the DEBUG_LL Kconfig help text,
so that users are aware of the portability restrictions that are associated
with enabling low-level debugging support.

17916b284e ARM: 7072/1: debug: use kconfig choice for selecting DEBUG_LL UART
Enabling CONFIG_DEBUG_LL (which is required for earlyprintk) hardwires
the debug UART address into the kernel, so that we can print before the
platform is initialised.

If the user inadvertently selects multiple platforms with DEBUG_LL
enabled, the UART address may not be correct and will likely cause the
kernel to hang in the very early stages of boot.

This patch, based on a skeleton from Russell, uses a Kconfig choice for
selecting the DEBUG_LL UART, therefore allowing the user to make a
choice about the supported platform when DEBUG_LL is enabled.

b025a3f836 ARM: 6876/1: Kconfig.debug: Remove unused CONFIG_DEBUG_ERRORS
This config option isn't actually used anywhere and can be safely

4a50bfe365 ARM: Ensure experimental options are so marked
It is kernel-wide policy that options depending on EXPERIMENTAL should
also have '(EXPERIMENTAL)' in their option text, and options with
'(EXPERIMENTAL)' depend on EXPERIMENTAL.

Ensure that all ARM options comply with this.

0e341af835 ARM: ftrace: enable function graph tracer
Add the options to enable the function graph tracer on ARM. Function
graph tracer support requires frame pointers, so exclude Thumb-2 and
also make sure FRAME_POINTER gets enabled when FUNCTION_GRAPH_TRACER is
used, since FUNCTION_TRACER doesn't "select FRAME_POINTER" when
ARM_UNWIND is used. Therefore, with GCC 4.4.0+, you get plain function
tracing without frame pointers, but you'll need them if you want
function graph tracing.

087aaffcdf ARM: implement CONFIG_STRICT_DEVMEM by disabling access to RAM via /dev/mem

09bfafac3e ARM: 6314/1: ftrace: allow build without frame pointers on ARM
With a new enough GCC, ARM function tracing can be supported without the
need for frame pointers. This is essential for Thumb-2 support, since
frame pointers aren't available then.

Move the Kconfig entries from plat-s3c to plat-samsung and plat-s3c24xx
as necessary. The S3C_BOOT entries and the DMA configuration can go to
plat-samsung. The low-level UART configurations are currently S3C2XX
specific and can go to plat-s3c24xx.

Eliminating plat-s3c from the build process will be submitted seperately.

c5d6c7708c ARM: 5841/1: a driver for on-chip ETM and ETB
This driver implements support for on-chip Embedded Tracing Macrocell and
Embedded Trace Buffer. It allows to trigger tracing of kernel execution flow
and exporting trace output to userspace via character device and a sysrq
combo.

Trace output can then be decoded by a fairly simple open source tool [1]
which is already sufficient to get the idea of what the kernel is doing.

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history,
even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git
archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about
3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early
git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good
infrastructure for it.

Let it rip!
