Since we clear QUEUE_STARTED in rt2x00queue_stop_queue(), following
call to rt2x00queue_pause_queue() reduce to noop, i.e we do not
stop queue in mac80211.
To fix that introduce rt2x00queue_pause_queue_nocheck() function,
which will stop queue in mac80211 directly.
Note that rt2x00_start_queue() explicitly set QUEUE_PAUSED bit.
Note also that reordering operations i.e. first call to
rt2x00queue_pause_queue() and then clear QUEUE_STARTED bit, will race
with rt2x00queue_unpause_queue(), so calling ieee80211_stop_queue()
directly is the only available solution to fix the problem without

During tear down (e.g. mwifiex_sdio_remove during system suspend),
mwifiex left IRQs enabled for a significant period of time when it was
unable to handle them correctly. This caused interrupt storms and
interfered with the bluetooth interface on the same SDIO card.
Solve this by disabling interrupts at the point when they can no longer
be handled correctly, which is at the start of mwifiex_remove_card().
For cleanliness, we now enable interrupts in the mwifiex_add_card() path,
to be symmetrical with the disabling of interrupts. We also couple the
registration of the sdio IRQ handler with the actual enable/disable of
interrupts at the hardware level.
I also removed a write to this register in mwifiex_init_sdio which seemed
pointless and won't cause any ill effects now that we only register
the SDIO IRQ handler when we are ready to accept interrupts.
Includes some corrections from Amitkumar Karwar.

The present build configuration for the rtlwifi family of drivers will
fail under two known conditions:
(1) If rtlwifi is selected without selecting any of the dependent drivers,
there are errors in the build.
(2) If the PCI drivers are built into the kernel and the USB drivers are modules,
or vice versa, there are missing globals.
The first condition is fixed by never building rtlwifi unless at least one
of the device drivers is selected. The second failure is fixed by splitting
the PCI and USB codes out of rtlwifi, and creating their own mini drivers.
If the drivers that use them are modules, they will also be modules.
Although a number of files are touched by this patch, only Makefile and Kconfig
have undergone significant changes. The only modifications to the other files
were to export entry points needed by the new rtl_pci and rtl_usb units, or to
rename two variables that had names that were likely to cause namespace collisions.

ath9k_hif_usb_probe() requests firmware asynchronically and
there is some initialization postponed till firmware is ready.
In particular, ath9k_hif_usb_firmware_cb() callback initializes
hif_dev->tx.tx_buf and hif_dev->tx.tx_pending lists.
At the same time, ath9k_hif_usb_suspend() iterates that lists through
ath9k_hif_usb_dealloc_urbs(). If suspend happens before request_firmware_nowait()
callback is called, it can lead to oops.
Similar issue could be in ath9k_hif_usb_disconnect(), but it is prevented
using hif_dev->fw_done completion and HIF_USB_READY flag. The patch extends
this approach to suspend() as well.

Commit a269913c5 entitled "rtlwifi: Rework rtl_lps_leave() and
rtl_lps_enter() to use work queue" has two bugs for USB drivers.
Firstly, the work queue in question was not initialized. Secondly,
the callback routine used by this queue is contained within the
file used for PCI devices. As a result, it is not available for
architectures without PCI hardware.

If a vif's RSSI gets good enough, we can enable reduced
Tx power. If so, we need to update the ACK / CTS kill mask
accordingly. Since the auditing for the interfaces was bad,
we enabled reduced Tx power, but didn't update the ACK / CTS
kill mask.
This is harmless since the firmware is most likely to
discard this setting anyway, but it is a good practice
to update it.

Pull networking updates from David Miller:
"This is a re-do of the net-next pull request for the current merge
window. The only difference from the one I made the other day is that
this has Eliezer's interface renames and the timeout handling changes
made based upon your feedback, as well as a few bug fixes that have
trickeled in.
Highlights:
1) Low latency device polling, eliminating the cost of interrupt
handling and context switches. Allows direct polling of a network
device from socket operations, such as recvmsg() and poll().
Currently ixgbe, mlx4, and bnx2x support this feature.
Full high level description, performance numbers, and design in
commit 0a4db187a9 ("Merge branch 'll_poll'")
From Eliezer Tamir.
2) With the routing cache removed, ip_check_mc_rcu() gets exercised
more than ever before in the case where we have lots of multicast
addresses. Use a hash table instead of a simple linked list, from
Eric Dumazet.
3) Add driver for Atheros CQA98xx 802.11ac wireless devices, from
Bartosz Markowski, Janusz Dziedzic, Kalle Valo, Marek Kwaczynski,
Marek Puzyniak, Michal Kazior, and Sujith Manoharan.
4) Support reporting the TUN device persist flag to userspace, from
Pavel Emelyanov.
5) Allow controlling network device VF link state using netlink, from
Rony Efraim.
6) Support GRE tunneling in openvswitch, from Pravin B Shelar.
7) Adjust SOCK_MIN_RCVBUF and SOCK_MIN_SNDBUF for modern times, from
Daniel Borkmann and Eric Dumazet.
8) Allow controlling of TCP quickack behavior on a per-route basis,
from Cong Wang.
9) Several bug fixes and improvements to vxlan from Stephen
Hemminger, Pravin B Shelar, and Mike Rapoport. In particular,
support receiving on multiple UDP ports.
10) Major cleanups, particular in the area of debugging and cookie
lifetime handline, to the SCTP protocol code. From Daniel
Borkmann.
11) Allow packets to cross network namespaces when traversing tunnel
devices. From Nicolas Dichtel.
12) Allow monitoring netlink traffic via AF_PACKET sockets, in a
manner akin to how we monitor real network traffic via ptype_all.
From Daniel Borkmann.
13) Several bug fixes and improvements for the new alx device driver,
from Johannes Berg.
14) Fix scalability issues in the netem packet scheduler's time queue,
by using an rbtree. From Eric Dumazet.
15) Several bug fixes in TCP loss recovery handling, from Yuchung
Cheng.
16) Add support for GSO segmentation of MPLS packets, from Simon
Horman.
17) Make network notifiers have a real data type for the opaque
pointer that's passed into them. Use this to properly handle
network device flag changes in arp_netdev_event(). From Jiri
Pirko and Timo Teräs.
18) Convert several drivers over to module_pci_driver(), from Peter
Huewe.
19) tcp_fixup_rcvbuf() can loop 500 times over loopback, just use a

Willem de Bruijn.
23) Don't use spinlocks in TCP md5 signing fast paths, from Eric
Dumazet.
24) Don't just drop GSO packets which are above the TBF scheduler's
burst limit, chop them up so they are in-bounds instead. Also
from Eric Dumazet.
25) VLAN offloads are missed when configured on top of a bridge, fix
from Vlad Yasevich.
26) Support IPV6 in ping sockets. From Lorenzo Colitti.
27) Receive flow steering targets should be updated at poll() time
too, from David Majnemer.
28) Fix several corner case regressions in PMTU/redirect handling due
to the routing cache removal, from Timo Teräs.
29) We have to be mindful of ipv4 mapped ipv6 sockets in
upd_v6_push_pending_frames(). From Hannes Frederic Sowa.

rtnl_is_locked() doesn't check who holds this lock, it just tells that it's

virtio net called virtqueue_enable_cq on RX path after napi_complete, so
with NAPI_STATE_SCHED clear - outside the implicit napi lock.
This violates the requirement to synchronize virtqueue_enable_cq wrt
virtqueue_add_buf. In particular, used event can move backwards,
causing us to lose interrupts.
In a debug build, this can trigger panic within START_USE.
Jason Wang reports that he can trigger the races artificially,
by adding udelay() in virtqueue_enable_cb() after virtio_mb().
However, we must call napi_complete to clear NAPI_STATE_SCHED before
polling the virtqueue for used buffers, otherwise napi_schedule_prep in
a callback will fail, causing us to lose RX events.
To fix, call virtqueue_enable_cb_prepare with NAPI_STATE_SCHED
set (under napi lock), later call virtqueue_poll with
NAPI_STATE_SCHED clear (outside the lock).

The driver is comprised of two kernel modules: mlx5_ib and mlx5_core.
This partitioning resembles what we have for mlx4, except that mlx5_ib
is the pci device driver and not mlx5_core.
mlx5_core is essentially a library that provides general functionality
that is intended to be used by other Mellanox devices that will be
introduced in the future. mlx5_ib has a similar role as any hardware
device under drivers/infiniband/hw.

Commit 2768935a46 ('sfc: reuse pages to avoid DMA mapping/unmapping
costs') did not fully take account of DMA scattering which was
introduced immediately before. If a received packet is invalid and
must be discarded, we only drop a reference to the first buffer's
page, but we need to drop a reference for each buffer the packet
used.
I think this bug was missed partly because efx_recycle_rx_buffers()
was not renamed and so no longer does what its name says. It does not
change the state of buffers, but only prepares the underlying pages
for recycling. Rename it accordingly.

- Removal of CONFIG_OF_DEVICE, it is always enabled by CONFIG_OF
- Remove #ifdef from linux/of_platform.h to increase compiler syntax
coverage
- Bug fix for address decoding on Bimini and js2x powerpc platforms.
- miscellaneous binding changes
One note on the above. The binding changes going in from all kinds of
different trees has gotten rather out of hand. I picked up some during
this cycle, but even going though my tree isn't a great fit. Ian
Campbell has prototyped splitting the bindings and .dtb files into a
separate repository. The plan is to migrate to using that sometime in
the next few kernel releases which should get rid of a lot of the churn
on binding docs and .dts files.

Which may led guest complain during setting channels:

Rework probe/remove routines to prevent rionet driver from monopolizing
target RapidIO devices. Fix conflict with modular RapidIO switch drivers.
Using one of RapidIO messaging channels rionet driver provides a service
layer common to all endpoint devices in a system's RapidIO network. These
devices may also require their own specific device driver which will be
blocked from attaching to the target device by rionet (or block rionet if
loaded earlier). To avoid conflict with device-specific drivers, the
rionet driver is reworked to be registered as a subsystem interface on the
RapidIO bus.
The reworked rio_remove_dev() and rionet_exit() routines also include
handling of individual rionet peer device removal which was not supported
before.

drivers/net/ethernet/renesas/sh_eth.c
net/ipv4/gre.c
The GRE conflict is between a bug fix (kfree_skb --> kfree_skb_list)
and the splitting of the gre.c code into seperate files.
The FEC conflict was two sets of changes adding ethtool support code
in an "!CONFIG_M5272" CPP protected block.
Finally the sh_eth.c conflict was between one commit add bits set
in the .eesr_err_check mask whilst another commit removed the
.tx_error_check member and assignments.

support, and deployment in four different platforms:
Rockchip, Super-H PFC, ABx500 and TZ1090. Support BIAS_BUS_HOLD,
get device tree parsing and debugfs support into shape.
- We also have device tree support with generic naming conventions
for the generic pin configuration.
- Delete the unused and confusing direct pinconf API. Now state
transitions is *the* way to control pins and multiplexing.
- New drivers for Rockchip, TZ1090, and TZ1090 PDC.
- Two pin control states related to power management are now
handled in the device core: "sleep" and "idle", removing a lot
of boilerplate code in drivers. We do not yet know if this is
the final word for pin PM, but it already make things a lot
easier to handle.
- Handle sparse GPIO ranges passing a list of disparate pins, and

"Surprisingly, Lai and I didn't break too many things implementing
custom pools and stuff last time around and there aren't any follow-up
changes necessary at this point.
The only change in this pull request is Viresh's patches to make some
per-cpu workqueues to behave as unbound workqueues dependent on a boot
param whose default can be configured via a config option. This leads
to higher processing overhead / lower bandwidth as more work items are
bounced across CPUs; however, it can lead to noticeable powersave in
certain configurations - ~10% w/ idlish constant workload on a
big.LITTLE configuration according to Viresh.
This is because per-cpu workqueues interfere with how the scheduler
perceives whether or not each CPU is idle by forcing pinned tasks on
them, which makes the scheduler's power-aware scheduling decisions
less effective.
Its effectiveness is likely less pronounced on homogenous
configurations and this type of optimization can probably be made
automatic; however, the changes are pretty minimal and the affected
workqueues are clearly marked, so it's an easy gain for some
configurations for the time being with pretty unintrusive changes."

completely CDC ECM compliant, using the same USB interface for both

naming this interface as both master and slave, so it is supportable
by relaxing the descriptor parsing in case these interfaces are
identical.
This has been tested on a Huawei K3806 and verified to add support

There is no need to initialize the dump data with zeros.
data is allocated with vzalloc, so it's already zero-filled.
More importantly, the memset is harmful, because dump->len (the length
requested by userspace) can be bigger than the allocated buffer (whose
size is determined by asking the driver's .get_dump_flag method).

Yet one more pull request for wireless updates intended for 3.11...
For the mac80211 bits, Johannes says:
"Here we have a few memory leak fixes related to BSS struct handling
mostly from Ben, including a fix for a more theoretical problem
(associating while a BSS struct times out) from myself, a compilation
warning fix from Arend, mesh fixes from Thomas, tracking the beacon
bitrate (Alex), a bandwidth change event fix (Ilan) and some initial
work for 5/10 MHz channels from Simon."
Regarding the iwlwifi bits, Johannes says:
"Emmanuel removed some unneeded/unsupported module parameters and adds a
Bluetooth 1x1 lookup-table for some upcoming products. From Alex I have
an older patch to add low-power receive support, this depended on a
mac80211 commit that only just came in with the merge from wireless-next
I did. Ilan made beacon timings better, and Eytan added some debug
statements for thermal throttling. I have a few cleanups, a fix for a
long-standing but rare warning, and, arguably the most important patch
here, the firmware API version bump for the 7260/3160 devices."
Also included is a Bluetooth pull -- Gustavo says:
"Here goes a set of patches to 3.11. The biggest work here is from Andre Guedes
on the move of the Discovery to use the new request framework. Other than that
Johan provided a bunch of fixes to the L2CAP code. The rest are just small
fixes and clean ups."
On top of all that, there are a variety of updates and fixes to
brcmfmac, rt2x00, wil6210, ath9k, ath10k, and a few others here and
there. This also includes a pull of the wireless tree, in order to
prevent some merge conflicts.
