fa6114d4bd net: macb: NULL out phydev after removing mdio bus
To ensure the dev->phydev pointer is not used after becoming invalid in
mdiobus_unregister, set it to NULL. This happens when removing the macb
driver without first taking its interface down, since unregister_netdev
will end up calling macb_close.

007e4ba3ee net: macb: initialize checksum when using checksum offloading
I'm still struggling to get this fix right..

Changes since v2:
 - do not blindly modify SKB contents according to Dave's legitimate
   objection

Changes since v1:
 - dropped disabling HW checksum offload for Zynq
 - initialize checksum similar to net/ethernet/freescale/fec_main.c

-- >8 --
MACB/GEM needs the checksum field initialized to 0 to get correct
results on transmit in all cases, e.g. on Zynq, UDP packets with
payload <= 2 otherwise contain a wrong checksums.

cf6696608a net: macb: Probe MDIO bus before registering netdev
The current sequence makes us register for a network device prior to
registering and probing the MDIO bus which could lead to some unwanted
consequences, like a thread of execution calling into ndo_open before
register_netdev() returns, while the MDIO bus is not ready yet.

Rework the sequence to register for the MDIO bus, and therefore attach
to a PHY prior to calling register_netdev(), which implies reworking the

9a0384c020 macb: fix PHY reset
The driver calls gpiod_set_value() with GPIOD_OUT_* instead of 0 and 1, as
a result the PHY isn't really put back into reset state in macb_remove().

6bdaa5e9ed net: macb: fix default configuration for GMAC on AT91
On AT91 SoCs, the User Register (USRIO) exposes a switch to configure the
"Reduced" or "Traditional" version of the Media Independent Interface
(RMII vs. MII or RGMII vs. GMII).
As on the older EMAC version, on GMAC, this switch is set by default to the
non-reduced type of interface, so use the existing capability and extend it to
GMII as well. We then keep the current logic in the macb_init() function.

The capabilities of sama5d2, sama5d4 and sama5d3 GEM interface are updated in
the macb_config structure to be able to properly enable them with a traditional
interface (GMII or MII).

138b15ed87 drivers/net: remove all references to obsolete Ethernet-HOWTO
This howto made sense in the 1990s when users had to manually configure
ISA cards with jumpers or vendor utilities, but with the implementation
of PCI it became increasingly less and less relevant, to the point where
it has been well over a decade since I last updated it. And there is
no value in anyone else taking over updating it either.

However the references to it continue to spread as boiler plate text
from one Kconfig file into the next. We are not doing end users any
favours by pointing them at this old document, so lets kill it with
fire, once and for all, to hopefully stop any further spread.

No code is changed in this commit, just Kconfig help text.

36583eb54d Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net
Conflicts:
	drivers/net/ethernet/cadence/macb.c
	drivers/net/phy/phy.c
	include/linux/skbuff.h
	net/ipv4/tcp.c
	net/switchdev/switchdev.c

Switchdev was a case of RTNH_H_{EXTERNAL --> OFFLOAD}
renaming overlapping with net-next changes of various
sorts.

phy.c was a case of two changes, one adding a local
variable to a function whilst the second was removing
one.

tcp.c overlapped a deadlock fix with the addition of new tcp_info
statistic values.

macb.c involved the addition of two zyncq device entries.

skbuff.h involved adding back ipv4_daddr to nf_bridge_info
whilst net-next changes put two other existing members of
that struct into a union.
