Fengguang correctly points out that the firmware reading should not use
vfs_read(), since the buffer is in kernel space.
The vfs_read() just happened to work for kernel threads, but sparse
warns about the incorrect address spaces, and it's definitely incorrect
and could fail for other users of the firmware loading.

RX/TX CQs will now be selected from a per HCA pool. For the RX flow
this has the effect of using different interrupt vectors when using
low level drivers (such as mlx4) that map the "vector" param provided
by the ULP on CQ creation to a dedicated IRQ/MSI-X vector. This
allows the RX flow processing of IO responses to be distributed across
multiple CPUs.
QPs (--> iSER sessions) are assigned to CQs in round robin order using
the CQ with the minimum number of sessions attached to it.

This is a first step in allowing people to by-pass udev for loading
device firmware. Current versions of udev will deadlock (causing us to
block for the 30 second timeout) under some circumstances if the
firmware is loaded as part of the module initialization path, and this
is causing problems for media drivers in particular.
The current patch hardcodes the firmware path that udev uses by default,
and will fall back to the legacy udev mode if the firmware cannot be
found there. We'd like to add support for both configuring the paths
and the fallback behaviour, but in the meantime this hopefully fixes the
immediate problem, while also giving us a way forward.

Currently, the InfiniBand stack does not support flow steering at the
verbs level -- the only usage of flow steering in the IB driver is for
L2 multicast attaches. We need to add the IB case to procedure
mlx4_QP_FLOW_STEERING_ATTACH_wrapper() to allow IPoIB to work on VFs
on ConnectX-3 when flow steering is enabled.
Currently, the IB case in mlx4_QP_FLOW_STEERING_ATTACH_wrapper() is missing,
so the procedure returns -EINVAL and IPoIB on VFs breaks.

Commit d760fc37b0 caused
1G functions to allocate rx rings which were 1/10 of the
size of 10G functions' rx rings.
However, it also caused 10G functions on 5771x boards to
allocate small rings, which limits their possible (default)
rx throughput. This patch causes all 10G functions to use
rings of intended length by default.

The loop in ixgbe_reinit_fdir_tables_82599() only polls for up to 100us
resulting in failures to update the FDIR filter table at 1Gbps and 10Gbps
when under load.
The poll times for FDIRCTRL.INIT_DONE are 55us, 550us and 5.5ms for 10Gbps,
1Gbps and 100Mbps respectively.
This patch sets the wait time to be the same as in ixgbe_fdir_enable_82599()

This patch fixes a bug in the method used for calculating the trigger
alignment for SDP0 when enabling a PPS output on the X540. The alignment math
wasn't properly taking into account the overflow cyclecounter, and was
misaligning the pin triggers so that two X540 devices synced properly had
mis-aligned SDP pins. This patch fixes the math to calculate the correct
seconds alignment for the PPS signal.

With the new netlink support in commit 862096a8bb ("IB/ipoib: Add more
rtnl_link_ops callbacks") we need ipoib_set_mode() to be available even
if connected mode isn't built. Move the function from ipoib_cm.c to
ipoib_main.c (and make a few CM-related macros available unconditonally).

Hopefully fixed the tlb flush timeout issue. Was able to observe this
condition occur occasionally, and it appears the binary driver doesn't
wait on the old condition either..
Should give 39-bit DMA addressing on the relevant chipsets.

For now, only 2 control modes are available:
- NONE: The fan is never touched (default)
- MANUAL: The fan is set to the user-defined fan speed (pwm1)
This patch introduces a distinction between ptherm internal fan management
and external fan management. The latter is bound to respect the fan mode
while the first can still select the speed it wants unless the NONE mode
is selected. This is important for automatic fan management.

The previous driver waited for 250ms to accumulate data. This version times a
complete fan rotation and extrapolates to RPM.
The fan rotational speed should now be read in less than 250ms (worst case)
and usually in less 50ms.

If nouveau_pm_perflvl_get() fails, pm->profiles list will be left

Triggers PIBUS interrupts due to register not existing anymore, and as
a result HUB_SET_CHAN times out.
After this commit, our fuc loads and can accelerate at least fbcon, X,
glxgears and OA on NVE4. NVE7 not tested as of yet.

This value will match something that's easily available from the engine IRQ
handlers, and used to lookup the relevant context.
Since the changes in how this is done on each generation match when the
major PFIFO changes happened, fifo is responsible for calculating the
correct value to avoid duplicating the same code among many engine modules.

This is a HUGE commit, but it's not nearly as bad as it looks - any problems
can be isolated to a particular chipset and engine combination. It was
simply too difficult to port each one at a time, the compat layers are
*already* ridiculous.
Most of the changes here are simply to the glue, the process for each of the
engine modules was to start with a standard skeleton and copy+paste the old
code into the appropriate places, fixing up variable names etc as needed.

This commit provides most of the infrastructure to support a major overhaul
of Nouveau's internals coming in the following commits. This work aims to
take all the things we've learned over the last several years, and turn that
into a cleaner architecture that's more maintainable going forward.
RAMHT and MM bits of the new core have been left out for the moment, and
will be pulled in as I go through the process of porting the code to
become either subdev or engine modules.

This happened initially as an unexpected side-effect of developing the
initial core infrastructure in userspace, but it turned into a goal of
the whole project. Initial benefits will be the availablility of a
number of userspace tools and tests using the same code as the driver
itself, but will also be important as I look into some virtualisation
ideas.

Future work will be headed in the way of separating the policy supplied by
the nouveau drm module from the mechanisms provided by the driver core.
There will be a couple of major classes (subdev, engine) of driver modules
that have clearly defined tasks, and the further directory structure change
is to reflect this.
No code changes here whatsoever, aside from fixing up a couple of include
file pathnames.

Won't necessarily be a drm_mm_node in the future, and I can't think of any
good reason to not use the offset from the bo struct. There may have been
some reason once apon a time, but, separate commit just in case.

Fixes some unfortunate races on resume. The G84 version of the code doesn't
need this as "gpuobj"s are automagically suspended/resumed by the core code
whereas pinned buffer objects are not.

DRV_MODULE_VERSION is smaller than the ->version buffer so the memcpy()
copies 1 byte past the end of the string. It's not super harmful, but
it makes the static checkers complain.

chan->count is used by rx channel. If the desc count is not updated by
the clean up loop in cpdma_chan_stop, the value written to the rxfree
register in cpdma_chan_start will be incorrect.

The config combination:

doesn't work, because then you have a built-in kernel
object (the PCH_PTP code) referring to symbols in a
module (PTP_1588_CLOCK).
Fix this like IXGBE, by using "select PTP_1588_CLOCK"
instead of a "depends on".

The network merge brought in a few users of functions that got
deprecated by the workqueue cleanups: the 'system_nrt_wq' is now the
same as the regular system_wq, since all workqueues are now non-
reentrant.
Similarly, remove one use of flush_work_sync() - the regular
flush_work() has become synchronous, and the "_sync()" version is thus
deprecated as being superfluous.
