b61ec31c85 batman-adv: Snoop DHCPACKs for DAT
In a 1000 nodes mesh network (Freifunk Hamburg) we can still see
30KBit/s of ARP traffic (equalling about 25% of all layer two
specific overhead, remaining after some filtering) flooded through
the mesh. These 30KBit/s are mainly ARP Requests from the
gateways / DHCP servers.

By snooping DHCPACKs we can learn about MAC/IP address pairs
in the DHCP range without relying on ARP. This patch is in preparation
to eliminate the need for mesh wide message flooding for IPv4 address
resolution.

Also this allows to quickly update a MAC/IP pair at least in the DHT when
DHCP reassigns an IP address to a new host.

03fe2debbb Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net
Fun set of conflict resolutions here...

For the mac80211 stuff, these were fortunately just parallel
adds. Trivially resolved.

In drivers/net/phy/phy.c we had a bug fix in 'net' that moved the
function phy_disable_interrupts() earlier in the file, whilst in
'net-next' the phy_error() call from this function was removed.

In net/ipv4/xfrm4_policy.c, David Ahern's changes to remove the
'rt_table_id' member of rtable collided with a bug fix in 'net' that
added a new struct member "rt_mtu_locked" which needs to be copied
over here.

The mlxsw driver conflict consisted of net-next separating
the span code and definitions into separate files, whilst
a 'net' bug fix made some changes to that moved code.

The mlx5 infiniband conflict resolution was quite non-trivial,
the RDMA tree's merge commit was used as a guide here, and
here are their notes:

====================

Due to bug fixes found by the syzkaller bot and taken into the for-rc
branch after development for the 4.17 merge window had already started
being taken into the for-next branch, there were fairly non-trivial
merge issues that would need to be resolved between the for-rc branch
and the for-next branch. This merge resolves those conflicts and
provides a unified base upon which ongoing development for 4.17 can
    be based.

    Conflicts:
            drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/main.c - Commit 42cea83f95
(IB/mlx5: Fix cleanup order on unload) added to for-rc and
commit b5ca15ad7e (IB/mlx5: Add proper representors support)
add as part of the devel cycle both needed to modify the
init/de-init functions used by mlx5. To support the new
representors, the new functions added by the cleanup patch
needed to be made non-static, and the init/de-init list
added by the representors patch needed to be modified to
match the init/de-init list changes made by the cleanup
            patch.
    Updates:
            drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/mlx5_ib.h - Update function
prototypes added by representors patch to reflect new function
names as changed by cleanup patch
            drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/ib_rep.c - Update init/de-init
stage list to match new order from cleanup patch

fc04fdb2c8 batman-adv: Fix skbuff rcsum on packet reroute
batadv_check_unicast_ttvn may redirect a packet to itself or another
originator. This involves rewriting the ttvn and the destination address in
the batadv unicast header. These field were not yet pulled (with skb rcsum
update) and thus any change to them also requires a change in the receive
checksum.

fec149f5d3 batman-adv: Convert packet.h to uapi header
The header file is used by different userspace programs to inject packets
or to decode sniffed packets. It should therefore be available to them as
userspace header.

7db7d9f369 batman-adv: Add SPDX license identifier above copyright header
The "Linux kernel licensing rules" require that each file has a SPDX
license identifier as first line (and sometimes as second line).

The FSFE REUSE practices [1] would also require the same tags but have no
restrictions on the placement in the source file. Using the "Linux kernel
licensing rules" is therefore also fulfilling the FSFE REUSE practices
requirements at the same time.

3111beed0d batman-adv: Simple (re)broadcast avoidance
With this patch, (re)broadcasting on a specific interfaces is avoided:

* No neighbor: There is no need to broadcast on an interface if there
  is no node behind it.

* Single neighbor is source: If there is just one neighbor on an
interface and if this neighbor is the one we actually got this
broadcast packet from, then we do not need to echo it back.

* Single neighbor is originator: If there is just one neighbor on
an interface and if this neighbor is the originator of this
broadcast packet, then we do not need to echo it back.

Goodies for BATMAN V:

("Upgrade your BATMAN IV network to V now to get these for free!")

Thanks to the split of OGMv1 into two packet types, OGMv2 and ELP
that is, we can now apply the same optimizations stated above to OGMv2
packets, too.

Furthermore, with BATMAN V, rebroadcasts can be reduced in certain
multi interface cases, too, where BATMAN IV cannot. This is thanks to
the removal of the "secondary interface originator" concept in BATMAN V.

15c2ed753c batman-adv: Fix reference leak in batadv_find_router
The replacement of last_bonding_candidate in batadv_orig_node has to be an
atomic operation. Otherwise it is possible that the reference counter of a

33a3bb4a33 batman-adv: throughput meter implementation
The throughput meter module is a simple, kernel-space replacement for
throughtput measurements tool like iperf and netperf. It is intended to
approximate TCP behaviour.

It is invoked through batctl: the protocol is connection oriented, with
cumulative acknowledgment and a dynamic-size sliding window.

The test *can* be interrupted by batctl. A receiver side timeout avoids
unlimited waitings for sender packets: after one second of inactivity, the
receiver abort the ongoing test.

a2d0816608 batman-adv: Fix bat_(iv|v) function declaration header
The bat_algo.h had some functions declared which were not part of the
bat_algo.c file. These are instead stored in bat_v.c and bat_iv_ogm.c. The
declaration should therefore be also in bat_v.h and bat_iv_ogm,h to make
them easier to find.

functions. These should be grouped together in the log.* files to make them

01d350d147 batman-adv: move bat_algo functions into a separate file
The bat_algo functionality in main.c is mostly unrelated to the rest of the
content. It still takes up a large portion of this source file (~15%, 103
lines). Moving it to a separate file makes it better visible as a main
component of the batman-adv implementation and hides it less in the other
helper functions in main.c.

c0f25c802b batman-adv: Include frame priority in fragment header
Unfragmented frames which traverse a node have their skb->priority set
by looking at the IP ToS byte, or the 802.1p header. However for
fragments this is not possible, only one of the fragments will contain
the headers. Instead, place the priority into the fragment header and
on receiving a fragment, use this information to set the skb->priority
for when the fragment is forwarded.

3b55e44220 batman-adv: Fix ICMP RR ethernet access after skb_linearize
The skb_linearize may reallocate the skb. This makes the calculated pointer
for ethhdr invalid. But it the pointer is used later to fill in the RR
field of the batadv_icmp_packet_rr packet.

Instead re-evaluate eth_hdr after the skb_linearize+skb_cow to fix the
pointer and avoid the invalid read.

99860208bc sched: remove NET_XMIT_POLICED
sch_atm returns this when TC_ACT_SHOT classification occurs.

But all other schedulers that use tc_classify
(htb, hfsc, drr, fq_codel ...) return NET_XMIT_SUCCESS | __BYPASS
in this case so just do that in atm.

BATMAN uses it as an intermediate return value to signal
forwarding vs. buffering, but it did not return POLICED to
callers outside of BATMAN.

4b426b108a batman-adv: Use bool as return type for boolean functions
It is easier to understand that the returned value of a specific function
doesn't have to be 0 when the functions was successful when the actual
return type is bool. This is especially true when all surrounding functions
with return type int use negative values to return the error code.

f0b94ebccd batman-adv: Use kref_get for _batadv_update_route
_batadv_update_route requires that the caller already has a valid reference
for neigh_node. It is therefore not possible that it has an reference
counter of 0 and was still given to this function

The kref_get function instead WARNs (with debug information) when the
reference counter would still be 0. This makes a bug in batman-adv better
visible because kref_get_unless_zero would have ignored this problem.

d1a65f1741 batman-adv: Reduce refcnt of removed router when updating route
_batadv_update_route rcu_derefences orig_ifinfo->router outside of a
spinlock protected region to print some information messages to the debug
log. But this pointer is not checked again when the new pointer is assigned
in the spinlock protected region. Thus is can happen that the value of
orig_ifinfo->router changed in the meantime and thus the reference counter
of the wrong router gets reduced after the spinlock protected region.

Just rcu_dereferencing the value of orig_ifinfo->router inside the spinlock
protected region (which also set the new pointer) is enough to get the
correct old router object.

makes it more consistent and makes it easier to understand the connection
to the *_get functions.
