59da1cbfd8 KVM: arm64: vgic-v3: Add hook to handle guest GICv3 sysreg accesses at EL2
In order to start handling guest access to GICv3 system registers,
let's add a hook that will get called when we trap a system register
access. This is gated by a new static key (vgic_v3_cpuif_trap).

d251f67a18 arm64: Add a facility to turn an ESR syndrome into a sysreg encoding
It is often useful to compare an ESR syndrome reporting the trapping
of a system register with a value matching that system register.

Since encoding both the sysreg and the ESR version seem to be a bit
overkill, let's add a set of macros that convert an ESR value into
the corresponding sysreg encoding.

We handle both AArch32 and AArch64, taking advantage of identical
encodings between system registers and CP15 accessors.

99a1db7a2c KVM: arm/arm64: Allow setting the timer IRQ numbers from userspace
First we define an ABI using the vcpu devices that lets userspace set
the interrupt numbers for the various timers on both the 32-bit and
64-bit KVM/ARM implementations.

Second, we add the definitions for the groups and attributes introduced
by the above ABI.  (We add the PMU define on the 32-bit side as well for
symmetry and it may get used some day.)

Third, we set up the arch-specific vcpu device operation handlers to
call into the timer code for anything related to the
KVM_ARM_VCPU_TIMER_CTRL group.

Fourth, we implement support for getting and setting the timer interrupt
numbers using the above defined ABI in the arch timer code.

Fifth, we introduce error checking upon enabling the arch timer (which
is called when first running a VCPU) to check that all VCPUs are
configured to use the same PPI for the timer (as mandated by the
architecture) and that the virtual and physical timers are not
configured to use the same IRQ number.

85e69ad7f2 KVM: arm/arm64: Move timer IRQ default init to arch_timer.c
We currently initialize the arch timer IRQ numbers from the reset code,
presumably because we once intended to model multiple CPU or SoC types
from within the kernel and have hard-coded reset values in the reset
code.

As we are moving towards userspace being in charge of more fine-grained
CPU emulation and stitching together the pieces needed to emulate a
particular type of CPU, we should no longer have a tight coupling
between resetting a VCPU and setting IRQ numbers.

Therefore, move the logic to define and use the default IRQ numbers to
the timer code and set the IRQ number immediately when creating the
VCPU.

at EL2, but we're not really prepared to deal with it. So far, this
has been unnoticed, until GCC 7 started emitting those (in particular
64bit writes on a 32bit boundary).

Since the rest of the kernel is pretty happy about that, let's follow
its example and set SCTLR_EL2.A to zero. Modern CPUs don't really
care.

d68c1f7fd1 arm64: KVM: Preserve RES1 bits in SCTLR_EL2
__do_hyp_init has the rather bad habit of ignoring RES1 bits and
writing them back as zero. On a v8.0-8.2 CPU, this doesn't do anything
bad, but may end-up being pretty nasty on future revisions of the
architecture.

Let's preserve those bits so that we don't have to fix this later on.

325f9c649c KVM: arm/arm64: use vcpu requests for irq injection
Don't use request-less VCPU kicks when injecting IRQs, as a VCPU
kick meant to trigger the interrupt injection could be sent while
the VCPU is outside guest mode, which means no IPI is sent, and
after it has called kvm_vgic_flush_hwstate(), meaning it won't see
the updated GIC state until its next exit some time later for some
other reason.  The receiving VCPU only needs to check this request
in VCPU RUN to handle it.  By checking it, if it's pending, a
memory barrier will be issued that ensures all state is visible.

7b244e2be6 KVM: arm/arm64: change exit request to sleep request
A request called EXIT is too generic. All requests are meant to cause
exits, but different requests have different flags. Let's not make
it difficult to decide if the EXIT request is correct for some case
by just always providing unique requests for each case. This patch
changes EXIT to SLEEP, because that's what the request is asking the
VCPU to do.

6a6d73be12 KVM: arm/arm64: properly use vcpu requests
arm/arm64 already has one VCPU request used when setting pause,
but it doesn't properly check requests in VCPU RUN. Check it
and also make sure we set vcpu->mode at the appropriate time
(before the check) and with the appropriate barriers. See
Documentation/virtual/kvm/vcpu-requests.rst. Also make sure we
don't leave any vcpu requests we don't intend to handle later
set in the request bitmap. If we don't clear them, then
kvm_request_pending() may return true when it shouldn't.

Using VCPU requests properly fixes a small race where pause
could get set just as a VCPU was entering guest mode.

2fa6e1e12a KVM: add kvm_request_pending
A first step in vcpu->requests encapsulation.  Additionally, we now
use READ_ONCE() when accessing vcpu->requests, which ensures we
always load vcpu->requests when it's accessed.  This is important as
other threads can change it any time.  Also, READ_ONCE() documents
that vcpu->requests is used with other threads, likely requiring
memory barriers, which it does.

2387149ead KVM: improve arch vcpu request defining
Marc Zyngier suggested that we define the arch specific VCPU request
base, rather than requiring each arch to remember to start from 8.
That suggestion, along with Radim Krcmar's recent VCPU request flag
addition, snowballed into defining something of an arch VCPU request
defining API.

No functional change.

(Looks like x86 is running out of arch VCPU request bits.  Maybe
 someday we'll need to extend to 64.)

28232a4317 KVM: arm/arm64: Fix isues with GICv2 on GICv3 migration
We have been a little loose with our intermediate VMCR representation
where we had a 'ctlr' field, but we failed to differentiate between the
GICv2 GICC_CTLR and ICC_CTLR_EL1 layouts, and therefore ended up mapping
the wrong bits into the individual fields of the ICH_VMCR_EL2 when
emulating a GICv2 on a GICv3 system.

Fix this by using explicit fields for the VMCR bits instead.

abd7229626 KVM: arm/arm64: Simplify active_change_prepare and plug race
We don't need to stop a specific VCPU when changing the active state,
because private IRQs can only be modified by a running VCPU for the
VCPU itself and it is therefore already stopped.

However, it is also possible for two VCPUs to be modifying the active
state of SPIs at the same time, which can cause the thread being stuck
in the loop that checks other VCPU threads for a potentially very long
time, or to modify the active state of a running VCPU.  Fix this by
serializing all accesses to setting and clearing the active state of
interrupts using the KVM mutex.

e8ec032b18 KVM: arm64: Restore host physical timer access on hyp_panic()
When KVM panics, it hurridly restores the host context and parachutes
into the host's panic() code. At some point panic() touches the physical
timer/counter. Unless we are an arm64 system with VHE, this traps back
to EL2. If we're lucky, we panic again.

Add a __timer_save_state() call to KVMs hyp_panic() path, this saves the
guest registers and disables the traps for the host.

661e6b02b5 KVM: arm: plug potential guest hardware debug leakage
Hardware debugging in guests is not intercepted currently, it means
that a malicious guest can bring down the entire machine by writing
to the debug registers.

This patch enable trapping of all debug registers, preventing the
guests to access the debug registers. This includes access to the
debug mode(DBGDSCR) in the guest world all the time which could
otherwise mess with the host state. Reads return 0 and writes are
ignored (RAZ_WI).

The result is the guest cannot detect any working hardware based debug
support. As debug exceptions are still routed to the guest normal
debug using software based breakpoints still works.

To support debugging using hardware registers we need to implement a
debug register aware world switch as well as special trapping for
registers that may affect the host state.

01630ab854 ARM: KVM: Fix tracepoint generation after move to virt/kvm/arm/
Moving most of the shared code to virt/kvm/arm had for consequence
that KVM/ARM doesn't build anymore, because the code that used to
define the tracepoints is now somewhere else.

Fix this by defining CREATE_TRACE_POINTS in coproc.c, and clean-up
trace.h as well.

     The size regression is fixed by moving all dax helpers into the

     dax-capable drivers. He also asked for clarification of the
     NR_DEV_DAX config option which, on closer look, does not need to be
     a config option at all. Mike also throws in a DEV_DAX_PMEM fixup
     for good measure.

   - Ben's attention to detail on -stable patch submissions caught a
     case where the recent fixes to arch_copy_from_iter_pmem() missed a
     condition where we strand dirty data in the cache. This is tagged
     for -stable and will also be included in the rework of the pmem api
     to a proposed {memcpy,copy_user}_flushcache() interface for 4.13.

   - Vishal adds a feature that missed the initial pull due to pending
     review feedback. It allows the kernel to clear media errors when
     initializing a BTT (atomic sector update driver) instance on a pmem
     namespace.

   - Ross noticed that the dax_device + dax_operations conversion broke
     __dax_zero_page_range(). The nvdimm unit tests fail to check this
     path, but xfstests immediately trips over it. No excuse for missing
     this before submitting the 4.12 pull request.

  These all pass the nvdimm unit tests and an xfstests spot check. The
  set has received a build success notification from the kbuild robot"

69861e0a52 xen: adjust early dom0 p2m handling to xen hypervisor behavior
When booted as pv-guest the p2m list presented by the Xen is already
mapped to virtual addresses. In dom0 case the hypervisor might make use
of 2M- or 1G-pages for this mapping. Unfortunately while being properly
aligned in virtual and machine address space, those pages might not be
aligned properly in guest physical address space.

So when trying to obtain the guest physical address of such a page
pud_pfn() and pmd_pfn() must be avoided as those will mask away guest
physical address bits not being zero in this special case.

When running as Xen pv guest X86_BUG_SYSRET_SS_ATTRS must not be set
on AMD cpus.

This bug/feature bit is kind of special as it will be used very early
when switching threads. Setting the bit and clearing it a little bit
later leaves a critical window where things can go wrong. This time
window has enlarged a little bit by using setup_clear_cpu_cap() instead
of the hypervisor's set_cpu_features callback. It seems this larger
window now makes it rather easy to hit the problem.

The proper solution is to never set the bit in case of Xen.

75d24d968a ARM: Silence first allocation with CONFIG_ARM_MODULE_PLTS=y
When CONFIG_ARM_MODULE_PLTS is enabled, the first allocation using the
module space fails, because the module is too big, and then the module
allocation is attempted from vmalloc space. Silence the first allocation
failure in that case by setting __GFP_NOWARN.

e118c3fec9 nios2: remove custom early console implementation
As of commits d8f347ba35cf ("nios2: enable earlycon support"),
0dcc0542a0 ("serial: altera_jtaguart: add earlycon support") and
4d9d7d896d ("serial: altera_uart: add earlycon support"), the nios2
architecture and the altera_uart/altera_jtaguart drivers support
earlycon. Thus, the custom early console implementation for nios2 is no
longer necessary to get early boot messages. Remove it and rely fully on
earlycon support.

        irq             Module parameter configures an I/O port
        dma             Module parameter configures a DMA channel
        dma_addr        Module parameter configures a DMA buffer address
        other           Module parameter configures some other value

  Note that the hwtype is compile checked, but not currently stored (the
  lockdown code probably won't require it). It is, however, there for
  future use.

  A bonus is that the hwtype can also be used for grepping.

  The intention is for the kernel to ignore or reject attempts to set
  annotated module parameters if lockdown is enabled. This applies to
  options passed on the boot command line, passed to insmod/modprobe or
  direct twiddling in /sys/module/ parameter files.

  The module initialisation then needs to handle the parameter not being
  set, by (1) giving an error, (2) probing for a value or (3) using a
  reasonable default.

  What I can't do is just reject a module out of hand because it may
  take a hardware setting in the module parameters. Some important
  modules, some ipmi stuff for instance, both probe for hardware and
  allow hardware to be manually specified; if the driver is aborts with
  any error, you don't get any ipmi hardware.

  Further, trying to do this entirely in the module initialisation code
  doesn't protect against sysfs twiddling.

a2d9214c73 TEE driver infrastructure and OP-TEE drivers
This branch introduces a generic TEE framework in the kernel, to handle
 trusted environemtns (security coprocessor or software implementations
 such as OP-TEE/TrustZone). I'm sending it separately from the other
 arm-soc driver changes to give it a little more visibility, once
 the subsystem is merged, we will likely keep this in the arm₋soc
 drivers branch or have the maintainers submit pull requests directly,
 depending on the patch volume.
 
 I have reviewed earlier versions in the past, and have reviewed
 the latest version in person during Linaro Connect BUD17.
 
 Here is my overall assessment of the subsystem:
 
 * There is clearly demand for this, both for the generic
   infrastructure and the specific OP-TEE implementation.
 
 * The code has gone through a large number of reviews,
   and the review comments have all been addressed, but
   the reviews were not coming up with serious issues any more
   and nobody volunteered to vouch for the quality.
 
 * The user space ioctl interface is sufficient to work with the
   OP-TEE driver, and it should in principle work with other
   TEE implementations that follow the GlobalPlatform[1] standards,
   but it might need to be extended in minor ways depending on
   specific requirements of future TEE implementations
 
 * The main downside of the API to me is how the user space
   is tied to the TEE implementation in hardware or firmware,
   but uses a generic way to communicate with it. This seems
   to be an inherent problem with what it is trying to do,
   and I could not come up with any better solution than what
   is implemented here.
