Given the legacy bpf_probe_read{,str}() BPF helpers are broken on archs
with overlapping address ranges, we should really take the next step to
disable them from BPF use there.
To generally fix the situation, we've recently added new helper variants
bpf_probe_read_{user,kernel}() and bpf_probe_read_{user,kernel}_str().
For details on them, see 6ae08ae3de ("bpf: Add probe_read_{user, kernel}
and probe_read_{user,kernel}_str helpers").
Given bpf_probe_read{,str}() have been around for ~5 years by now, there
are plenty of users at least on x86 still relying on them today, so we
cannot remove them entirely w/o breaking the BPF tracing ecosystem.
However, their use should be restricted to archs with non-overlapping
address ranges where they are working in their current form. Therefore,
move this behind a CONFIG_ARCH_HAS_NON_OVERLAPPING_ADDRESS_SPACE and
have x86, arm64, arm select it (other archs supporting it can follow-up
on it as well).
For the remaining archs, they can workaround easily by relying on the
feature probe from bpftool which spills out defines that can be used out
of BPF C code to implement the drop-in replacement for old/new kernels
via: bpftool feature probe macro

My recent commit b6d49cab44 ("net: Make PTP-specific drivers depend on
PTP_1588_CLOCK") exposes a missing dependency in defconfigs that select
TI_CPTS without selecting PTP_1588_CLOCK, leading to linker errors of the
form:
drivers/net/ethernet/ti/cpsw.o: in function `cpsw_ndo_stop':
cpsw.c:(.text+0x680): undefined reference to `cpts_unregister'
...
That's because TI_CPTS_MOD (which is the symbol gating the _compilation_ of
cpts.c) now depends on PTP_1588_CLOCK, and so is not enabled in these
configurations, but TI_CPTS (which is the symbol gating _calls_ to the cpts
functions) _is_ enabled. So we end up compiling calls to functions that
don't exist, resulting in the linker errors.
This patch fixes build errors and restores previous behavior by:
- ensure PTP_1588_CLOCK=y in TI specific configs and CPTS will be built
- remove TI_CPTS_MOD and, instead, add dependencies from CPTS in
TI_CPSW/TI_KEYSTONE_NETCP/TI_CPSW_SWITCHDEV as below:
config TI_CPSW_SWITCHDEV
...
depends on TI_CPTS || !TI_CPTS
which will ensure proper dependencies PTP_1588_CLOCK -> TI_CPTS ->
TI_CPSW/TI_KEYSTONE_NETCP/TI_CPSW_SWITCHDEV and build type selection.
Note. For NFS boot + CPTS all of above configs have to be built-in.

The Clock Pulse Generator (CPG) device node lacks the extal2 clock.
This may lead to a failure registering the "r" clock, or to a wrong
parent for the "usb24s" clock, depending on MD_CK2 pin configuration and
boot loader CPG_USBCKCR register configuration.
This went unnoticed, as this does not affect the single upstream board
configuration, which relies on the first clock input only.

Stephen reported the following build warning on a ARM multi_v7_defconfig
build with GCC 9.2.1:
kernel/futex.c: In function 'do_futex':
kernel/futex.c:1676:17: warning: 'oldval' may be used uninitialized in this function [-Wmaybe-uninitialized]
1676 | return oldval == cmparg;
| ~~~~~~~^~~~~~~~~
kernel/futex.c:1652:6: note: 'oldval' was declared here
1652 | int oldval, ret;
| ^~~~~~
introduced by commit a08971e948 ("futex: arch_futex_atomic_op_inuser()
calling conventions change").
While that change should not make any difference it confuses GCC which
fails to work out that oldval is not referenced when the return value is
not zero.
GCC fails to properly analyze arch_futex_atomic_op_inuser(). It's not the
early return, the issue is with the assembly macros. GCC fails to detect
that those either set 'ret' to 0 and set oldval or set 'ret' to -EFAULT
which makes oldval uninteresting. The store to the callsite supplied oldval
pointer is conditional on ret == 0.
The straight forward way to solve this is to make the store unconditional.
Aside of addressing the build warning this makes sense anyway because it
removes the conditional from the fastpath. In the error case the stored
value is uninteresting and the extra store does not matter at all.

Looks like using the UART CTS pin does not always trigger for a wake-up
when the SoC is idle.
This is probably because the modem first uses gpio_149 to signal the SoC
that data will be sent, and the CTS will only get used later when the
data transfer is starting.
Let's fix the issue by configuring the gpio_149 pad as the wakeirq for
UART. We have gpio_149 managed by the USB PHY for powering up the right
USB mode, and after that, the gpio gets recycled as the modem wake-up
pin. If needeed, the USB PHY can also later on be configured to use
gpio_149 pad as the wakeirq as a shared irq.
Let's also configure the missing properties for uart-has-rtscts and
current-speed for the modem port while at it. We already configure the
hardware flow control pins with uart1_pins pinctrl setting.

The initial Zinc patchset, after some mailing list discussion, contained
code to ensure that kernel_fpu_enable would not be kept on for more than
a 4k chunk, since it disables preemption. The choice of 4k isn't totally
scientific, but it's not a bad guess either, and it's what's used in
both the x86 poly1305, blake2s, and nhpoly1305 code already (in the form
of PAGE_SIZE, which this commit corrects to be explicitly 4k for the
former two).
Ard did some back of the envelope calculations and found that
at 5 cycles/byte (overestimate) on a 1ghz processor (pretty slow), 4k
means we have a maximum preemption disabling of 20us, which Sebastian
confirmed was probably a good limit.
Unfortunately the chunking appears to have been left out of the final
patchset that added the glue code. So, this commit adds it back in.

Usually it does not hurt to add "clock-names" properties, even if the
(pre-json-schema) DT bindings do not mention them.
However, the actual clock names for the OS Timer nodes are not fixed,
but contain the indices of the consumer instances. Hence they cannot
easily be used by a driver, without scanning for all possible indices.
Remove them, as the OSTM DT bindings do not specify clock-names anyway.

As the bug report [1] pointed out, <linux/vermagic.h> must be included
after <linux/module.h>.
I believe we should not impose any include order restriction. We often
sort include directives alphabetically, but it is just coding style
convention. Technically, we can include header files in any order by
making every header self-contained.
Currently, arch-specific MODULE_ARCH_VERMAGIC is defined in
<asm/module.h>, which is not included from <linux/vermagic.h>.
Hence, the straight-forward fix-up would be as follows:
|--- a/include/linux/vermagic.h
|+++ b/include/linux/vermagic.h
|@@ -1,5 +1,6 @@
| /* SPDX-License-Identifier: GPL-2.0 */
| #include <generated/utsrelease.h>
|+#include <linux/module.h>
|
| /* Simply sanity version stamp for modules. */
| #ifdef CONFIG_SMP
This works enough, but for further cleanups, I split MODULE_ARCH_VERMAGIC
definitions into <asm/vermagic.h>.
With this, <linux/module.h> and <linux/vermagic.h> will be orthogonal,
and the location of MODULE_ARCH_VERMAGIC definitions will be consistent.
For arc and ia64, MODULE_PROC_FAMILY is only used for defining
MODULE_ARCH_VERMAGIC. I squashed it.
For hexagon, nds32, and xtensa, I removed <asm/modules.h> entirely
because they contained nothing but MODULE_ARCH_VERMAGIC definition.
Kbuild will automatically generate <asm/modules.h> at build-time,
wrapping <asm-generic/module.h>.

This patch fixes an incorrect check in how immediate memory offsets are
computed for BPF_DW on arm.
For BPF_LDX/ST/STX + BPF_DW, the 32-bit arm JIT breaks down an 8-byte
access into two separate 4-byte accesses using off+0 and off+4. If off
fits in imm12, the JIT emits a ldr/str instruction with the immediate
and avoids the use of a temporary register. While the current check off
<= 0xfff ensures that the first immediate off+0 doesn't overflow imm12,
it's not sufficient for the second immediate off+4, which may cause the
second access of BPF_DW to read/write the wrong address.
This patch fixes the problem by changing the check to
off <= 0xfff - 4 for BPF_DW, ensuring off+4 will never overflow.
A side effect of simplifying the check is that it now allows using
negative immediate offsets in ldr/str. This means that small negative
offsets can also avoid the use of a temporary register.
This patch introduces no new failures in test_verifier or test_bpf.c.

0698fac4ac ("efi/arm: Clean EFI stub exit code from cache instead of avoiding it")
introduced a PC-relative reference to 'call_cache_fn' into
efi_enter_kernel(), which lives way at the end of head.S. In some cases,
the ARM version of the ADR instruction does not have sufficient range,
resulting in a build error:
arch/arm/boot/compressed/head.S:1453: Error: invalid constant (fffffffffffffbe4) after fixup
ARM defines an alternative with a wider range, called ADRL, but this does
not exist for Thumb-2. At the same time, the ADR instruction in Thumb-2
has a wider range, and so it does not suffer from the same issue.
So let's switch to ADRL for ARM builds, and keep the ADR for Thumb-2 builds.
