425f33bdcd dt-bindings: display: renesas: Add R-Car M3-N HDMI TX DT bindings
The M3-N HDMI TX controller is compatible with the M3-W and H3. No
extension to the DT bindings are needed.

Add an SoC-specific compatible string in case differences between the IP
versions are found later and require model-specific handling.

ffdd073681 dt-bindings: adv7511: Extend bindings to allow specifying slave map addresses
The ADV7511 has four 256-byte maps that can be accessed via the main I2C
ports. Each map has it own I2C address and acts as a standard slave
device on the I2C bus.

Extend the device tree node bindings to be able to override the default
addresses so that address conflicts with other devices on the same bus
may be resolved at the board description level.

drm/sun4i: Add DT binding for Detail Enhancement Unit in Allwinner A80 SoC
The display pipeline on the A80 SoC has what is called the Detail

drm/sun4i: Add compatible strings for A80 TCONs
The A80 has 2 or 3 TCONs. The documentation and vendor kernel are very
vague about the third TCON, to the point that it might not exist.

In the documentation, the first TCON is missing channel 1, and the
second is missing channel 0. However the vendor kernel seems to be
able to use them regardless. Here we model them like the old TCONs.

An oddity is that TCON0 requires the reset control for the eDP block
to be deasserted, for any register access to stick.

This patch adds compatible strings for TCON0 and TCON1, with TCON0
requiring an extra "edp" reset control.

dt-bindings: display: sun4i-drm: Add A83T HDMI pipeline
This commit adds all necessary compatibles and descriptions needed to
implement A83T HDMI pipeline.

Mixer is already properly described, so only compatible is added.

However, A83T TV TCON, which is connected to HDMI, doesn't have channel 0,
contrary to all TCONs currently described. Because of that, TCON
documentation is extended.

A83T features Synopsys DW HDMI controller with a custom PHY which looks
like Synopsys Gen2 PHY with few additions. Since there is no
documentation, needed properties were found out through experimentation
and reading BSP code.

At the end, example is added for newer SoCs, which feature DE2 and DW
HDMI.

Merge tag 'drm-for-v4.16' of git://people.freedesktop.org/~airlied/linux

Pull drm updates from Dave Airlie:
"This seems to have been a comparatively quieter merge window, I assume
due to holidays etc. The "biggest" change is AMD header cleanups, which
merge/remove a bunch of them. The AMD gpu scheduler is now being made generic
with the etnaviv driver wanting to reuse the code, hopefully other drivers
can go in the same direction.

Otherwise it's the usual lots of stuff in i915/amdgpu, not so much stuff
  elsewhere.

  Core:
   - Add .last_close and .output_poll_changed helpers to reduce driver footprints
   - Fix plane clipping
   - Improved debug printing support
   - Add panel orientation property
   - Update edid derived properties at edid setting
   - Reduction in fbdev driver footprint
   - Move amdgpu scheduler into core for other drivers to use.

  i915:
   - Selftest and IGT improvements
   - Fast boot prep work on IPS, pipe config
   - HW workarounds for Cannonlake, Geminilake

   - Multi-display sync support
   - Enable swapout for reserved BOs during allocation
   - S3 fixes on Raven
   - GPU reset cleanup and fixes
   - 2+1 level GPU page table

  amdkfd:
   - GFX7/8 SDMA user queues support
   - Hardware scheduling for multiple processes
   - dGPU prep work

  rcar:
   - Added R8A7743/5 support
   - System suspend/resume support

  sun4i:
   - Multi-plane support for YUV formats

   - DSI command mode panel cleanups
   - DMM error handling

  exynos:
   - drop the old IPP subdriver.

  etnaviv:

   Allo.com Sparky Single-board-computer

 Allwinner:
   Orange Pi R1 development board
   Libre Computer Board ALL-H3-CC H3 single-board computer

 Renesas:
   r8a77970 (V3M) Starter Kit board
   r8a7795 (M3-W) Salvator-XS board

We finally managed to get the dtc warnings under control, with no more
build-time warnings for bad device tree files. This includes fixes for
the majority of platforms, including nomadik, samsung, lpc32xx, STi,
spear, mediatek, freescale, qcom, realview, keystone, omap, kirkwood,
 renesas, hisilicon, and broadcom.

Files get rearranged on a few platforms, in particular the Marvell
Armada 7K/8K device tree files are changed in preparation for future
SoC support, based on more than two of the same chips in one package,
and some boards get renamed for oxnas for consistency.

Finally, many existing SoCs gain descriptions for additional on-chip
devices that we can now support with kernel drivers:

   Allwinner A83t (drm, ethernet, i2c, ...), H3/H5 (USB-OTG)
Amlogic AXG family (clk, pinctrl, pwm, ...), and others (vpu, hdmi)

This adds device tree bindings for the Texas Instruments
THS8134, THS8134A and THS8134B VGA DACs by extending and
renaming the existing bindings for THS8135.

These DACs are used for the VGA outputs on the ARM reference
designs such as Integrator, Versatile and RealView.

9be712ef46 drm/tegra: Changes for v4.16-rc1
The bulk of these changes are preparation work and addition of support
for Tegra186. Currently only HDMI output (the primary output on Jetson
TX2) is supported, but the hardware is also capable of doing DSI and
 DisplayPort.

Tegra DRM now also uses the atomic commit helpers instead of the open-
coded variant that was only doing half its job. As a bit of a byproduct
of the Tegra186 support the driver also gained HDMI 2.0 as well as zpos
 property support.

Along the way there are also a few patches to clean up a few things and
 fix minor issues.
