ACPICA commit c75af007d35c0afe8791ac39b7749c7442f49912
The %*s format specifier prints a string with a width indicated by an integer.
In the case of acpi_os_printf() ("%*s", acpi_gbl_nesting_level, " "),
a single space is printed to the console when acpi_gbl_nesting_level
is 0 or 1. This change increments acpi_gbl_nesting_level so that there
is one space printed when acpi_gbl_nesting_level is 0 and two spaces
printed when acpi_gbl_nesting_level is 1.

ACPICA commit a65c1df7e6b4bad8e37df822018c40c6c446add9
The key feature of this utility is that the original comments within
the input ASL files are preserved during the conversion process, and
included within the converted ASL+ file -- thus creating a transparent
conversion of existing ASL files to ASL+ (ASL 2.0)
This patch is an automatic generation of the ASL converter commit,
Linux kernel isn't affected by the functionality provided in this
commit, but requires the linuxized changes to support future ACPICA
release automation.

ACPICA commit d261d40ea168f8e4c4e3986de720b8651c4aba1c
This patch adds sprintf()/snprintf()/vsnprintf()/printf()/vfprintf()
support for OSPMs that have ACPI_USE_SYSTEM_CLIBRARY defined but do not
have ACPI_USE_STANDARD_HEADERS defined.
-iwithprefix include is required to include <stdarg.h> which contains
compiler specific implementation of vargs when -nostdinc is specified.
-fno-builtin is required for GCC to avoid optimization performed printf().
This optimization cannot be automatically disabled by specifying -nostdlib.
Please refer to the first link below for the details. However, the build
option changes do not affect Linux kernel builds and are not included.

ACPICA commit cb3d1c79f862cd368d749c9b8d9dced40111b0d0
__FUNCTION__ is MSVC only, in Linux, it is __func__. Lv Zheng.
As noted by Christoph Hellwig: "__func__ is in C99 and never.
__FUNCTION__ is an old extension supported by various compilers."
In ACPICA, this is achieved by string replacement in release script and
this patch contains the source code difference between the Linux upstream
and ACPICA that is caused by the back porting.

__FUNCTION__ hasn't been treated as a string literal since gcc 3.4, so
this only helps people who only test-compile using 3.3 (compiler-gcc3.h
barks at anything older than that). Besides, there are almost no
occurrences of __FUNCTION__ left in the tree.

Invocations like fprintf(stderr) and perror() are not portable, this patch
introduces acpi_log_error() as a replacement, it is implemented using new
portable API - acpi_ut_file_vprintf().
Note that though acpi_os_initialize() need to be invoked prior than using
this new API, since no users are introduced in this patch, such invocations
are not added for applications that link utprint.c in this patch. Futher
patches that introduce users of acpi_log_error() should take care of this.
This patch is only useful for ACPICA applications, most of which are not
shipped in the Linux kernel.
Note that follow-up commits will update acpidump to use this new API to
improve portability. Lv Zheng.

Utility improvements in ACPICA are partial ignored by ACPICA Linux
release. This will lead to divergences between Linux and ACPICA.
This patch ports the entire "utility" into Linux and makes them
igored in the compilation stage by "ACPI_FUTURE_USAGE".
The following "Utility" files have been ported into the Linux:
drivers/acpi/uttrack.c
drivers/acpi/utcache.c
drivers/acpi/utids.c
This patch will not affect the generated vmlinx binary.
This will decrease 274 lines of 20120913 divergence.diff.

Change definition of acpi_thread_id to always be a u64. This
simplifies the code, especially any printf output. u64 is
the only common data type for all thread_id types across all
operating systems. We now force the OSL to cast the native
thread_id type to u64 before returning the value to ACPICA
(via acpi_os_get_thread_id).

This type was introduced as the code was migrated from ACPI 1.0
(with 32-bit AML integers) to ACPI 2.0 (with 64-bit integers). It
is now obsolete and this change removes it from the ACPICA code
base, replaced by u64. The original typedef has been retained
for now for compatibility with existing device driver code.
