0fd0ba5f9e ASoC: Additional updates for v3.7
A couple more updates for 3.7, enhancements to the ux500 and wm2000
 drivers, a new driver for DA9055 and the support for regulator bypass
 mode.  With the exception of the DA9055 this has all had a chance to

c05b84d14b ASoC: dapm: Allow regulators to bypass as well as disable when idle
Allow regulators managed via DAPM to make use of the bypass support that
has recently been added to the regulator API by setting a flag
SND_SOC_DAPM_REGULATOR_BYPASS. When this flag is set the regulator will
be put into bypass mode before being disabled, allowing the regulator to
fall into bypass mode if it can't be disabled due to other users.

e7736cdea2 dmaengine: Add flags parameter to dmaengine_prep_dma_cyclic()
With this parameter added to dmaengine_prep_dma_cyclic() the API will be in
sync with other dmaengine_prep_*() functions.
The dmaengine_prep_dma_cyclic() function primarily used by audio for cyclic
transfer required by ALSA, we use the from audio to ask dma drivers to
suppress interrupts (if DMA_PREP_INTERRUPT is cleared) when it is supported
on the platform.

9d069dc00b ALSA: Make snd_sgbuf_get_{ptr|addr}() available for non-SG cases
Passing struct snd_dma_buffer pointer instead, so that they work no
matter whether real SG buffer is used or not.

This is a preliminary work for the HD-audio DSP loader code.

d0b3847b40 ASoC/mfd: twl4030: Remove set_hs_extmute callback from platform data
We no longer have users for the set_hs_extmute callback which has been
replaced by hs_extmute_gpio so the codec driver can handle the external
mute if it is needed by the board.

281ecd1611 ASoC: twl4030: Move hs_extmute GPIO handling to driver
The external mute (if it is in use) is handled by a GPIO line. Prepare to
remove the set_hs_extmute callback and replace it with:
hs_extmute_gpio: the GPIO number to use for external mute

When the users of set_hs_extmute has been converted the callback can be removed.

4cd7a2f1ae mfd: twl-core: Add API to query the HFCLK rate
CFG_BOOT register's HFCLK_FREQ field hold information about the used HFCLK
frequency.
Add possibility for users to get the configured rate based on this
register.
This register was configured during boot, without it the chip would not
operate correctly, so we can trust on this information.

ec8b5e48c0 dmaengine: Pass flags via device_prep_dma_cyclic() callback
Change the parameter list of device_prep_dma_cyclic() so the DMA drivers
can receive the flags coming from clients.
This feature can be used during audio operation to disable all audio
related interrupts when the DMA_PREP_INTERRUPT is cleared from the flags.

0534951ba4 ASoC: wm8960: remove 'dres' field from platform data structure
The 'dres' field (discharge resistance for headphone outputs) is no longer
used in the driver, so remove it.

It was used in the original version of the driver when entering standby
from off, but we stopped using it when we switched from having a single
startup sequence to having separate cap and capless sequences.

If the LRCLK is shared and the WM8960 is clock master then we should
enable the LRCM bit to tell the device that it should drive LRCLK when
either ADC or DAC is enabled rather than separately driving the two
LRCLKs.

86767b7d5b ASoC: Avoid recalculating the bitmask for SOC_ENUM controls
For ENUM controls the bitmask is calculated based on the number of items.
Currently this is done each time the control is accessed. And while the
performance impact of this should be negligible we can easily do better. The
roundup_pow_of_two macro performs the same calculation which is currently done
manually, but it is also possible to use this macro with compile time constants
and so it can be used to initialize static data. So we can use it to initialize
the mask field of a ENUM control during its declaration.

d41789b266 ASoC: mx27vis: retrieve gpio numbers from platform_data
Rather than including mach/iomux-mx27.h to define gpio numbers and set
up the pins, the patch moves all these into machine code and has the
gpio numbers passed to driver via platform_data.  As the result, we
can remove the mach/iomux-mx27.h inclusion from driver.

This reverts commit 970e178985.

Nikolay Ulyanitsky reported thatthe 3.6-rc5 kernel has a 15-20%
performance drop on PostgreSQL 9.2 on his machine (running "pgbench").

Borislav Petkov was able to reproduce this, and bisected it to this
commit 970e178985 ("sched: Improve scalability via 'CPU buddies' ...")
apparently because the new single-idle-buddy model simply doesn't find
idle CPU's to reschedule on aggressively enough.

Mike Galbraith suspects that it is likely due to the user-mode spinlocks
in PostgreSQL not reacting well to preemption, but we don't really know
the details - I'll just revert the commit for now.

There are hopefully other approaches to improve scheduler scalability
without it causing these kinds of downsides.

0848c94fb4 mfd: core: Push irqdomain mapping out into devices
Currently the MFD core supports remapping MFD cell interrupts using an
irqdomain but only if the MFD is being instantiated using device tree
and only if the device tree bindings use the pattern of registering IPs
in the device tree with compatible properties.  This will be actively
harmful for drivers which support non-DT platforms and use this pattern
for their DT bindings as it will mean that the core will silently change
remapping behaviour and it is also limiting for drivers which don't do
DT with this particular pattern.  There is also a potential fragility if
there are interrupts not associated with MFD cells and all the cells are
omitted from the device tree for some reason.

Instead change the code to take an IRQ domain as an optional argument,
allowing drivers to take the decision about the parent domain for their
interrupts.  The one current user of this feature is ab8500-core, it has
the domain lookup pushed out into the driver.

4b921eda53 mISDN: Fix wrong usage of flush_work_sync while holding locks
It is a bad idea to hold a spinlock and call flush_work_sync.
Move the workqueue cleanup outside the spinlock and use cancel_work_sync,
on closing the channel this seems to be the more correct function.
Remove the never used and constant return value of mISDN_freebchannel.

7b31d0095e ALSA: Define more channel map positions
For following the standard, define more channel map positions and
shuffle the items a bit:

- As both PulseAudio and gstreamer define MONO channel position
  explicitly, we should follow that, too.  The mono streams point to
  this channel position unless they are explicitly assigned to certain
  channel positions.

- Top-front-* and Top-rear-* positions are added, carried from
  PulseAudio's definitions.

- Move NA and MONO definitions at the top of table right after
  UNKNOWN, since these are more abstract in comparison with other
  practical positions.

On transactions with n>=2 bytes, the controller actually wrongly clocks in n+1
bytes. This is caused by the (wrong) assumption that RFE in the Status Register
is 1 iff there is no byte already ordered (via a dummy TX byte). This lead to
the implementation of synchronized byte ordering, e.g.:

Dummy-TX - RX - Dummy-TX - RX - ...

But since RFE actually stays high after some Dummy-TX, it rather looks like:

Dummy-TX - Dummy-TX - RX - Dummy-TX - RX - (RX)

The last RX byte is clocked in by the bus controller, but ignored by the kernel
when filling the userspace buffer.

This patch fixes the issue by asking for RX via Dummy-TX asynchronously.
Introducing a separate counter for TX bytes.

f59c8f9fe6 regulator: core: Support bypass mode
Many regulators support a bypass mode where they simply switch their
input supply to the output. This is mainly used in low power retention
states where power consumption is extremely low so higher voltage or
less clean supplies can be used.

Support this by providing ops for the drivers and a consumer API which
allows the device to be put into bypass mode if all consumers enable it
and the machine enables permission for this.

This is not supported as a mode since the existing modes are rarely used
due to fuzzy definition and mostly redundant with modern hardware which is
able to respond promptly to load changes.

Marc Kleine-Budde offers an rt2x00 fix for a voltage setting on some
specific devices.

Mohammed Shafi Shajakhan sent an ath9k fix to avoid a crash related to
using timers that aren't allocated when 2 wire bluetooth coexistence
hardware is in use.

Sergei Poselenov changes rt2800usb to do some validity checking for
received packets, avoiding crashes on an ARM Soc.

Stone Piao gives us an mwifiex fix for an incorrectly set skb length
value for a command buffer.

All of these are localized to their specific drivers, and relatively
small.  The power-related patches from Felix are bigger than I would
like, but I merged them in consideration of their isolation to ath9k
and the sensitive nature of power settings in wireless devices.

32a8811ff1 target: support zero allocation length in REQUEST SENSE
Similar to INQUIRY and MODE SENSE, construct the sense data in a
buffer and later copy it to the scatterlist.  Do not do anything,
but still clear a pending unit attention condition, if the allocation
length is zero.

However, SPC tells us that "If a REQUEST SENSE command is terminated with
CHECK CONDITION status [and] the REQUEST SENSE command was received on
an I_T nexus with a pending unit attention condition (i.e., before the
device server reports CHECK CONDITION status), then the device server
shall not clear the pending unit attention condition."  Do the
transport_kmap_data_sg early to detect this case.

It also tells us "Device servers shall not adjust the additional sense
length to reflect truncation if the allocation length is less than the
sense data available", so do not do that!  Note that the err variable
is write-only.

7fb40f87c4 net/mlx4_core: Add security check / enforcement for flow steering rules set for VMs
Since VFs may be mapped to VMs which aren't trusted entities,  flow
steering rules attached through the wrapper on behalf of VFs must be
checked to make sure that their L2 specification relate to MAC address
assigned to that VF, and add L2 specification if its missing.

f39c1bfb5a SUNRPC: Fix a UDP transport regression
Commit 43cedbf0e8 (SUNRPC: Ensure that
we grab the XPRT_LOCK before calling xprt_alloc_slot) is causing
hangs in the case of NFS over UDP mounts.

Since neither the UDP or the RDMA transport mechanism use dynamic slot
allocation, we can skip grabbing the socket lock for those transports.
Add a new rpc_xprt_op to allow switching between the TCP and UDP/RDMA
case.

Note that the NFSv4.1 back channel assigns the slot directly
through rpc_run_bc_task, so we can ignore that case.

This is a completely different CONFIG_HOTPLUG problem, only
demonstrating another reason why CONFIG_HOTPLUG should go away.  I had a
hard time trying to disable it anyway ;-)

The problem this time is lots of code assuming that a call to
add_uevent_var() will guarantee that env->buflen > 0.  This is not true
if CONFIG_HOTPLUG is unset.  So things like this end up overwriting
env->envp_idx because the array index is -1:

always be on is the longterm fix, but it's too late for 3.6 and older
kernels to resolve this that way - gregkh ]

ALC650 has a channel swap option between surround and CLFE channels,
so we need to tweak the channel maps dynamically depending on the
register bit.

Now struct snd_ac97 can contain chmap pointers for playback and
capture.  The driver may store these and let ac97 driver changing the
channel mapping dynamically.

2d3391ec0e ALSA: PCM: channel mapping API implementation
This patch implements the basic data types for the standard channel
mapping API handling.

- The definitions of the channel positions and the new TLV types are
  added in sound/asound.h and sound/tlv.h, so that they can be
  referred from user-space.

- Introduced a new helper function snd_pcm_add_chmap_ctls() to create
  control elements representing the channel maps for each PCM
  (sub)stream.

- Some standard pre-defined channel maps are provided for
  convenience.

1f1ea6c2d9 NFSv4: Fix buffer overflow checking in __nfs4_get_acl_uncached
Pass the checks made by decode_getacl back to __nfs4_get_acl_uncached
so that it knows if the acl has been truncated.

The current overflow checking is broken, resulting in Oopses on
user-triggered nfs4_getfacl calls, and is opaque to the point
where several attempts at fixing it have failed.
This patch tries to clean up the code in addition to fixing the
Oopses by ensuring that the overflow checks are performed in
a single place (decode_getacl). If the overflow check failed,
we will still be able to report the acl length, but at least
we will no longer attempt to cache the acl or copy the
truncated contents to user space.
