c936f45fc2 usb: ftdi-elan: Remove deprecated create_singlethread_workqueue
The status workqueue is involved in initializing the Uxxx and polling
the Uxxx until a supported PCMCIA CardBus device is detected.
It then starts the command and respond workqueues and then loads the
module that handles the device, after which it just polls the Uxxx
looking for card ejects.

The command and respond workqueues are involved in implementing a command
sequencer for communicating with the firmware on the other side of
the FTDI chip in the Uxxx.

These workqueues have only a single work item each and hence they do not
require ordering. Also, none of the above workqueues are being used on a
memory recliam path. Hence, the singlethreaded workqueues have been
replaced with the use of system_wq.

System workqueues have been able to handle high level of concurrency
for a long time now and hence it's not required to have a singlethreaded
workqueue just to gain concurrency. Unlike a dedicated per-cpu workqueue
created with create_singlethread_workqueue(), system_wq allows multiple
work items to overlap executions even on the same CPU; however, a
per-cpu workqueue doesn't have any CPU locality or global ordering
guarantee unless the target CPU is explicitly specified and thus the
increase of local concurrency shouldn't make any difference.

The work items have been sync cancelled because they are self-requeueing
and need to wait for the in-flight work item to finish before proceeding
with destruction. Hence, they have been sync cancelled in
ftdi_status_cancel_work(), ftdi_command_cancel_work() and
ftdi_response_cancel_work(). These functions are called in
ftdi_elan_exit() to ensure that there are no pending work items while
disconnecting the driver.

6a0bb4348b USB: appledisplay: Remove deprecated create_singlethread_workqueue
The workqueue "wq" is involved in controlling the brightness of an
Apple Cinema Display over USB.

It has a single work item(&pdata->work) per appledisplay and hence
doesn't require ordering. Also, it is not being used on a memory
reclaim path.

Hence, the singlethreaded workqueue has been replaced with the use of
system_wq.

The work item is self-requeueing and needs to wait for the in-flight
work item to finish before proceeding with destruction.
Hence, it has been sync cancelled in appledisplay_disconnect().
This also ensures that there are no pending tasks while disconnecting
the driver.

740a6a1720 usb: misc: Add driver for usb4604
This is a minimal driver to support bringing a usb4604 device
from microchip out of reset and into hub mode. The usb4604 device
is related to the usb3503 device, but it didn't seem close enough
to warrant putting both into the same file. This patch borrows
some of the usb3503 structure and trims it down to just handle
the optional reset gpio and adds the i2c command to put the
device into hub mode.

a335aaf312 usb: misc: remove outdated USB LED driver
The USB LED driver exposes a undocumented sysfs interface and doesn't
use the standard kernel LED subsystem. It supports three devices:

Delcom Visual Signal Indicator
The driver supports generation 1 of the device only which was
manufactured until 2008. Remove support for this device completely.

Riso Kagaku RGB LED + Dream Cheeky Webmail Notifier
These devices are HID compliant and are supported by a new USB LED
driver under drivers/hid utilizing the kernel LED subsystem.

So let's remove the old USB LED driver.

0c1849a8c7 usb: Add driver for UCSI
USB Type-C Connector System Software Interface (UCSI) is
specification that defines the registers and data structures
that can be used to control USB Type-C ports on a system.
UCSI is used on several Intel Broxton SoC based platforms.
Things that UCSI can be used to control include at least USB
Data Role swapping, Power Role swapping and controlling of
Alternate Modes on top of providing general details about
the port and the partners that are attached to it.

The initial purpose of the UCSI driver is to make sure USB
is in host mode on desktop and server systems that are USB
dual role capable, and provide UCSI interface.

The goal is to integrate the driver later to an USB Type-C
framework for Linux kernel, and at the same time add support
for more extensive USB Type-C port control that UCSI offers,
for example data role swapping, power role swapping,
Alternate Mode control etc.

The UCSI specification is public can be obtained from here:

0e781c2258 usb-misc: sisusbvga: fix error path
Remove a call to dev_err() that was reporting an unsuccesful call to
kmalloc(), as reporting memory allocation failures is redundant. Instead
of logging the error, clean up previously allocated resources and abort

dereferenced even if null after failure of memory allocation.

This patch remove three calls to dev_err() from sisusb_probe() as
reporting memory allocation failures is redundant:

 - Remove a call to dev_err() that was reporting unsuccesful call to

 - Remove two calls to dev_err() that were reporting unsuccesful calls

One call to dev_err() reporting memory allocation is left unchanged as

18fc4ebdc7 usb: misc: usbtest: Remove timeval usage
timeval is deprecated and not y2038 safe. Its size also changes according
to 32 bit/ 64 bit compilation. Replace it with 32 and 64 bit versions of
its individual fields, giving two ioctls with different code values.
The two ioctls are necessary to maintain the 32 bit and 64 bit userspace
compatibility with a 64/32 bit kernel.

Change unsigned to __u32 types for a definitive userspace interface.
This is in accordance with the psABI that the unsigned type is always
32 bits.

Also use motonic timer instead of real time to ensure positive delta
values.

Refactor usbtest_ioctl for readability to isolate the handling of the
testing timing measurement.

The official testusb userspace tool can be changed in a separate patch
to reflect the __u32 changes as well. It can use the usbtest_param_32
struct, since 32 bit seconds is long enough for test durations.
