The policy in the net driver is to attempt MCDI commands and
then handle any EPERM error codes appropriately when returned
by unprivileged functions.
The ethtool selftest contains some tests which are useful on
an unprivileged function, such as the event queue interrupt
tests, but other tests cannot be performed as the function
does not have the required permissions.
If a test returns -EPERM, act as though the test was not run
and continue.

If the workaround to support cascaded multicast filters ("workaround_26807") is
enabled, the broadcast filter and individual multicast filters are not inserted
when in promiscuous or allmulti mode.
There is a race while inserting and removing filters when entering and leaving
promiscuous mode. When changing promiscuous state with cascaded multicast
filters, the old multicast filters are removed before inserting the new filters
to avoid duplicating packets; this can lead to dropped packets until all
filters have been inserted.
The efx_nic:mc_promisc flag is added to record the presence of a multicast
promiscuous filter; this gives a simple way to tell if the promiscuous state is
changing.

If a function is in promiscuous mode and another function has a broadcast or
multicast filter inserted, the function in promiscuous mode won't see that
broadcast or multicast traffic.
Most notably this breaks broadcast, which means ARP doesn't work. Less
show-stoppingly, a function listening on a multicast address that's also in
promiscuous mode will not see that multicast traffic if another function is
also listening on that multicast address.

When enabling the workaround for cascaded multicast filters, the MC
can reset other functions if they have already inserted filters.
In that case, the workaround has been enabled, but print an info
message in the log recording that other functions had to be reset.
As other functions were reset, the MC will have incremented its boot
count, so also increment the warm_boot_count on the function which
enabled the workaround, as that function won't have received an MC
reboot event and does not need to reset.

GET_WORKAROUNDS was only introduced in May 2014, not all firmware
will have it. So call sites need to handle ENOSYS.
In this case we're probing the bug26807 workaround, which is not
implemented in any firmware that doesn't have GET_WORKAROUNDS.
So interpret ENOSYS as 'false'.

After creating event queue 0, check to see if the workaround is enabled,
and enable it if necessary. This will be called during PCI probe and
also when coming back up after a reset. The nic_data->workaround_26807
will be used in the future to control the filter insertion behaviour
based on this workaround.
Only the primary PF can enable this workaround, so tolerate an EPERM
error and continue. Otherwise, if any step in the checking and enabling
of the workaround fails, the event queue must be removed.
We check that workaround is implemented before trying to enable it,
and store the current workaround setting before trying to change it.

The limit for BQL is updated each time we call
netdev_tx_completed_queue.
Without this patch the BQL limit was updated for every TX event we
see.
The issue was that this only updated the limit to handle the data
we complete in two events as the first event wouldn't show that
enough traffic had been processed between them.
This was OK when interrupt moderation was off but not when it was
on as more data had to be completed in a single interrupt.
The patch changes this so that we do report the completion to BQL
only when all the TX events in the interrupt have been processed.

Some versions of MCFW do not support the MC_CMD_VADAPTOR_SET_MAC
command, and ENOSYS will be returned.
If the PF created its own vport, the function's datapath must be
stopped and the vport can be reconfigured to reflect the new MAC
address.
If the MCFW created the vport for the PF (which is the case when
the nic_data->vport_mac is blank), nothing further needs to be
done as the vport is not under the control of the PF.
This only applies to PFs because the MCFW in question does not
support VFs.

Re-organize the structure of error handling to avoid having
to duplicate the netif_err() around the ifdefs.
The only change to the behaviour of the error-handling is that
the PF's data structure to record VF details should only be
updated if the original command succeeded.

If any VF is assigned as the PF is unloaded, do not attempt to
remove its vport or the vswitch. These will be removed if the
driver binds to the PF again, as an entity reset occurs during
probe.
A 'force' flag is added to efx_ef10_pci_sriov_disable() to
distinguish between disabling SR-IOV and driver unload.
SR-IOV cannot be disabled if VFs are assigned to guests.
If the PF driver is unloaded while VFs are assigned, the driver
may try to bind to the VF again at a later point if the driver
has been reloaded and the VF returns to the same domain as the PF.
In this case, the PF will not have a VF data structure, so the VF
can check this and drop out of probe early.
In this case, efx->vf_count will be zero but VFs will be present.
The user is advised to remove the VF and re-create it. The check
at the beginning of efx_ef10_pci_sriov_disable() that
efx->vf_count is non-zero is removed to allow SR-IOV to be
disabled in this case. Also, if the PF driver is unloaded, it
will disable SR-IOV to remove these unknown VFs.
By not disabling bus-mastering if VFs are still assigned, the VF
will continue to pass traffic after the PF has been removed.
When using the max_vfs module parameter, if VFs are already
present do not try to initialise any more.

When the driver unloads, force the unbind and removal of any
VFs in the host with the PF. The PF cannot remove vports and
vswitches if they are still being used by a VF driver, and when
unloading the sfc driver the removal order is not guaranteed,
so the instruction from the PF to the VF to unbind enforces a
suitable ordering so that vswitches and vports can be removed.
As a result of this, manually unbinding the driver from a single
PF will result in all of its VFs in the host also being removed.

The ifenslave command to set up a bond runs in an atomic
context, and it queries the stats on the devices that are
being enslaved. A VF needs to make an MCDI call to update
its stats, which is not allowed in atomic context.
The releasing of the stats_lock is moved to the beginning of
the VF stats update function so that in_interrupt() can be
used; it must be taken again before returning from this
function.

The raw_mask array is not initialised, so it needs to be
explicitly set to zero in the 'else' branch.
If the EVB capability is not present, a port cannot have multiple
functions so the per-port MAC stats are correct and should match
the corresponding vadaptor stats, so this redundancy can be
removed from the ethtool stats output.

MC_CMD_MAC_STATS can be called on a function before a
vadaptor has been created, as the kernel can call into this
through ndo_get_stats/ndo_get_stats64.
If MC_CMD_MAC_STATS is called before the DMA queues have been
setup, so that a vadaptor has not been created yet, firmware
will return ENOENT. This is expected, so suppress the MCDI
error message in this case.

The netdevice statistics (in /proc/net/dev) are per-function
stats so they must use the vadaptor stats. Change the use of
MAC stats to vadaptor stats, and remove any statistics that
can only be measured per-port. All stats that are removed
will be shown as zeroes when these statistics are displayed.

Firmware does not support a periodic DMA of vadaptor-stats
on VFs, so only update the stats buffer when stats are
requested (when running "ethtool -S" or an ip/ifconfig
command that reports stats).

All interfaces will display vadaptor statistics, so set all the
relevant bits in the stats bitmask. Only functions with the
LINKCTRL flag will see other stats, including (per-port) MAC stats.
The vadaptor stats are from rx_unicast to tx_overflow.

When Rx packet data must be dropped, all the buffers
associated with that Rx packet must be freed. Extend
and rename efx_free_rx_buffer() to efx_free_rx_buffers()
and loop through all the fragments.
By doing so this patch fixes a possible memory leak.

As many issues are encountered at probe time, where MCDI logging can't be
enabled through the sysfs node, this change adds a module parameter
'mcdi_logging_default', which defaults to false. When set to true, newly-
probed functions will have MCDI logging enabled. The setting can
subsequently be changed as normal through the sysfs node.

MCDI tracing is conditional on CONFIG_SFC_MCDI_LOGGING, which is enabled
by default.
Each MCDI command will produce a console line like
sfc dom🚌dev:fn ifname: MCDI RPC REQ: xxxxxxxx [yyyyyyyy...]
where xxxxxxxx etc. are the raw MCDI payload in 32-bit hex chunks.
The response will then produce a similar line with "RESP" instead of "REQ",
and containing the MCDI response payload (if any).

Add a set_mac_address() NIC-type function for EF10 only, and
use this to set the MAC address on the vadaptor. For Siena and
earlier, the MAC address continues to be set by MC_CMD_SET_MAC;
this is still called on EF10, and including a MAC address in
this command has no effect.
The sriov_mac_address_changed() NIC-type function is no longer
needed on EF10, but it is needed for Siena where it is used to
update the peer address of the PF for VFDI. Change this to use
the new set_mac_address function pointer.
efx_ef10_sriov_mac_address_changed() is no longer called, as VFs
will try to change the MAC address on their vadaptor rather than
trying to change to the context of the PF to alter the vport.
When a VF is running in direct passthrough mode with MAC spoofing
enabled, it will be able to change the MAC address on its vadaptor.
In this case, there is a link to the PF, so find the correct VF in
its ef10_vf array and update the MAC address.
ndo_set_mac_address() can be called during driver unload while
bonding, and in this case the device has already been stopped, so
don't call efx_net_open() to restart it after reconfiguration.
efx->port_enabled is set to false in efx_stop_port(), so it is
indicator of whether the device needs to be restarted.

The max vlan tags that can be offloaded is 2, including any upstream VLAN
aggregator. Currently there is no way for the net driver to know whether
the upstream vswitch (if any) is using vlan tags, so there is no way to
know how many tags we can request.
Along with the implementation for the ndo_set_vf_vlan callback, this patch
also adds 2 VLAN tags for the driver created VEB switch if possible, that
way it is possible to offload as many tags as are allowed.

Currently we do an entity reset when we detect an MC reboot.
This messes up SRIOV because it leaves VFs orphaned. The extra
reset is rather redundant anyway, since the MC reboot will have
basically reset everything.
This change replaces the entity reset after MC reboot with a
simpler datapath reset that reallocates resources but doesn't
perform the entity reset.

rtnetlink calls ndo_get_vf_config when compiling information
about a network interface, so that the VFs associated with a PF
can be listed (eg: ip link show).

A VF's MAC address is set by its parent PF and added to its vport.
To get this MAC address, the VF must use MC_CMD_ VPORT_GET_MAC_ADDRESSES.
In the current scheme, a VF's vport should only have one MAC address,
so warn if this is not the case.

If MCDI timeouts are encountered during efx_ef10_filter_table_remove(),
an FLR will be queued, but efx->filter_state will still be kfree()d.
The queued FLR will then call efx_ef10_filter_table_restore(), which
will try to use efx->filter_state. This previously caused a panic.
This patch adds an rwsem to protect the existence of efx->filter_state,
separately from the spinlock protecting its contents. Users which can
race against efx_ef10_filter_table_remove() should down_read this rwsem.

Add the device ID of the VF to the PCI device ID table.
Added a boolean flag is_vf in efx_nic_type to differentiate
between a VF and PF at probe time. This flag is useful in later

Allow PFs to allocate shared RSS contexts if we exhaust our
exclusive RSS contexts. Make VFs use shared RSS contexts in
all cases.
Spruce up error handling so that the shadow copy of the RSS
table is updated after successful update, rather than in all
cases, so that we report the actual contents of the RSS table
after a failure to set it, rather than what we'd like it to be.
Populate context_size parameter when vacuously allocating RSS
context of size 1.

* Accept EPERM in some simple cases, the following cases are handled:
1) efx_mcdi_read_assertion()
Unprivileged PCI functions aren't allowed to GET_ASSERTS.
We return success as it's up to the primary PF to deal with asserts.
2) efx_mcdi_mon_probe() in efx_ef10_probe()
Unprivileged PCI functions aren't allowed to read sensor info, and
worrying about sensor data is the primary PF's job.
3) phy_op->reconfigure() in efx_init_port() and efx_reset_up()
Unprivileged functions aren't allowed to MC_CMD_SET_LINK, they just have
to accept the settings (including flow-control, which is what
efx_init_port() is worried about) they've been given.
4) Fallback to GET_WORKAROUNDS in efx_ef10_probe()
Unprivileged PCI functions aren't allowed to set workarounds. So if
efx_mcdi_set_workaround() fails EPERM, use efx_mcdi_get_workarounds()
to find out if workaround_35388 is enabled.
5) If DRV_ATTACH gets EPERM, try without specifying fw-variant
Unprivileged PCI functions have to use a FIRMWARE_ID of 0xffffffff
(MC_CMD_FW_DONT_CARE).
6) Don't try to exit_assertion unless one had fired
Previously we called efx_mcdi_exit_assertion even if
efx_mcdi_read_assertion had received MC_CMD_GET_ASSERTS_FLAGS_NO_FAILS.
This is unnecessary, and the resulting MC_CMD_REBOOT, even if the
AFTER_ASSERTION flag made it a no-op, would fail EPERM for unprivileged
PCI functions.
So make efx_mcdi_read_assertion return whether an assert happened, and only
call efx_mcdi_exit_assertion if it has.

To be able to use MC_CMD_VADAPTOR_SET_MAC, vadaptors must be
manually allocated and freed as automatic vadaptors will disappear
when their reference_count reaches zero, which must happen before
the MAC address is changed.
Vadaptors are allocated and freed in the vswitching_probe/remove
functions for PFs and VFs, and this means that vadaptors are restored
correctly following an MC reboot or other reset when required.

The parent PF creates vports for all its child VFs and adds MAC
addresses to these. When the VF driver loads, it can make an MCDI
call to get the MAC address that the parent PF assigned it.
The parent PF also assigns a mac address to its own vport because
implicit creation of a vAdaptor will only work on evb ports with
MAC addresses assigned.
The vport MAC address needs to be stored in the PF's nic_data
struct as it can later be changed on the vadaptor (and its net_dev
struct). When removing a vport the original MAC address must be
deleted.
A new flag is needed in the VF data structure to identify whether
a vport has been assigned to the VF. This is to determine whether
it needs to be un-assigned before freeing the vport. Also,
attempting to un-assign a vport which is not assigned will result
in an EALREADY error.

Adds functions to allocate and free vswitches and vports; vadaptors
are automatically allocated and freed when TX/RX queues are
initialised and finalised. This vswitching structure is only created
if the firmware supports it, so a check that full-featured firmware
is running is performed first.
If the MC resets, the vswitching infrastructure will need to be
recreated, so mark the "must_probe_vswitching" flag when an MC reboot
is detected.
Don't try to create a vswitch if vf-count=0
This allocation of vswitches and vports does not currently support
configuring VLAN tags, but that can be added in a future change.

The default port ID of EVB_PORT_ID_ASSIGNED is a "magic" number
for the MCFW to select the physical port of the PF. If other
vswitches and vports are created on top of the default firmware
configuration, the ID of the newly created vport is then required
when passed to MCDI commands. Currently, this doesn't happen so
the vport_id is never changed, but a subsequent patch will change
this behaviour so that other vswitches and vports are created.
The vport_id recorded in nic_data is only relevant for PFs.
VFs will have their vports created by their parent PF, and in
that case the parent PF will record the vport ID of each VF.
For a VF, nic_data->vport_id is expected to remain at the default
value.

The (future) code to add/remove vswitches and vports will be
dependent on the firmware variant.
To simplify the checking of the firmware variant, record
values for rx_dpcpu_fw_id and tx_dpcpu_fw_id in EF10 nic_data.
There was only one place where this was previously used:
efx_mcdi_print_fwver() in ethtool.c.
The MC_CMD_GET_CAPABILITIES can be replaced and the values from
nic_data used instead.
Note that the printing of "?" if the MC command fails or if the
outlength is incorrect no longer apply, because errors are returned
in efx_ef10_init_datapath_caps() in both of these cases.

The efx_vf struct contains Siena-specific fields for VFs,
so rename to siena_vf.
Also move it into the siena_nic_data struct, as EF10 will
track its VFs in its own ef10_nic_data, storing much less
information about them since VFDI is no longer used.

By putting all the efx_{siena,ef10}_sriov_* declarations in
{siena,ef10}_sriov.h, ensure they cannot be called from nic-generic code.
Also fixes up an instance of this, where mcdi.c was calling
efx_siena_sriov_flr.
The single instance of netdev_ops should call general high level
functions that can then call something adapter specific in efx_nic_type.
We should only do adapter specialisation via efx_nic_type.
Removal of sriov functionality from the Falcon code means that tests
are needed for the presence of some callbacks.

This patch extends the set/get_rxfh ethtool-options for getting or
setting the RSS hash function.
It modifies drivers implementation of set/get_rxfh accordingly.
This change also delegates the responsibility of checking whether a
modification to a certain RX flow hash parameter is supported to the
driver implementation of set_rxfh.
User-kernel API is done through the new hfunc bitmask field in the
ethtool_rxfh struct. A bit set in the hfunc field is corresponding to an
index in the new string-set ETH_SS_RSS_HASH_FUNCS.
Got approval from most of the relevant driver maintainers that their
driver is using Toeplitz, and for the few that didn't answered, also
assumed it is Toeplitz.

efx_ef10_probe() was BUGging out if the BAR2 size was 0. This is
unnecessarily violent; instead we should just fail to probe the device.
Kept a WARN_ON as this problem indicates a broken or misconfigured NIC.

Reported by Nikolay Aleksandrov. In efx_init_port() we call
efx_mac_reconfigure() to work around a Falcon/A1 limitation, and this calls
efx_{arch}_filter_sync_rx_mode(), which takes the addr_list_lock; but this
lock is uninitialised, because we haven't called register_netdevice() yet.
So, in efx_farch_filter_sync_rx_mode(), check efx_dev_registered() before
doing anything else.
The EF10 equivalent, efx_ef10_filter_sync_rx_mode(), already has the
corresponding check.

__iowrite64_copy() isn't quite the same as efx_memcpy_64(), but
it looks close enough:
- The length is in units of qwords not bytes
- It never byte-swaps, but that doesn't make a difference now as PIO
is only enabled for x86_64
- It doesn't include any memory barriers, but that's OK as there is a
barrier just before pushing the doorbell
- mlx4_en uses it for the same purpose

This patch adds the sfc driver code for implementing busy polling.
It adds ndo_busy_poll method and locking between it and napi poll.
It also adds each napi to the napi_hash right after netif_napi_add().
Uses efx_start_eventq and efx_stop_eventq in the self tests.

The linux net driver uses memcpy_toio() in order to copy into
the PIO buffers.
Even on a 64bit machine this causes 32bit accesses to a write-
combined memory region.
There are hardware limitations that mean that only 64bit
naturally aligned accesses are safe in all cases.
Due to being write-combined memory region two 32bit accesses
may be coalesced to form a 64bit non 64bit aligned access.
Solution was to open-code the memory copy routines using pointers
and to only enable PIO for x86_64 machines.
Not tested on platforms other than x86_64 because this patch
disables the PIO feature on other platforms.
Compile-tested on x86 to ensure that works.
The WARN_ON_ONCE() code in the previous version of this patch
has been moved into the internal sfc debug driver as the
assertion was unnecessary in the upstream kernel code.
This bug fix applies to v3.13 and v3.14 stable branches.

o min_tx_rate puts lower limit on the VF bandwidth. VF is guaranteed
to have a bandwidth of at least this value.
max_tx_rate puts cap on the VF bandwidth. VF can have a bandwidth
of up to this value.
o A new handler set_vf_rate for attr IFLA_VF_RATE has been introduced
which takes 4 arguments:
netdev, VF number, min_tx_rate, max_tx_rate
o ndo_set_vf_rate replaces ndo_set_vf_tx_rate handler.
o Drivers that currently implement ndo_set_vf_tx_rate should now call
ndo_set_vf_rate instead and reject attempt to set a minimum bandwidth
greater than 0 for IFLA_VF_TX_RATE when IFLA_VF_RATE is not yet
implemented by driver.
o If user enters only one of either min_tx_rate or max_tx_rate, then,
userland should read back the other value from driver and set both
for IFLA_VF_RATE.
Drivers that have not yet implemented IFLA_VF_RATE should always
return min_tx_rate as 0 when read from ip tool.
o If both IFLA_VF_TX_RATE and IFLA_VF_RATE options are specified, then
IFLA_VF_RATE should override.
o Idea is to have consistent display of rate values to user.

If the sfc driver is in legacy interrupt mode (either explicitly by
using interrupt_mode module param or by falling back to it) it will
hit a warning at kernel/irq/manage.c because it will try to free an irq
which wasn't allocated by it in the first place because the MSI(X) irqs are
zero and it'll try to free them unconditionally. So fix it by checking if
we're in legacy mode and freeing the appropriate irqs.

When an MCDI command times out (whether or not we find it
completed when we poll), call efx_mcdi_abandon(), which tells
all subsequent MCDI calls to fail-fast, and queues up an FLR.
Because an FLR doesn't lead to receiving any reboot even from
the MC (unlike most other types of reset), we have to call
efx_ef10_reset_mc_allocations.
In efx_start_all(), if a reset (of any kind) is pending, we
bail out.
Without this, attempts to reconfigure (e.g. change mtu) can
cause driver/mc state inconsistency if the first MCDI call
triggers an FLR.
For similar reasons, on EF10, in
efx_reset_down(method=RESET_TYPE_MCDI_TIMEOUT), set the number
of active queues to zero before calling efx_stop_all().
And, on farch, in efx_reset_up(method=RESET_TYPE_MCDI_TIMEOUT),
set active_queues and flushes pending & outstanding to zero.
efx_mcdi_mode_{poll,event}() should not take us out of fail-fast
mode. Instead, this is done by efx_mcdi_reset() after the FLR
completes.
The new FLR reset_type RESET_TYPE_MCDI_TIMEOUT doesn't really
fit into the hierarchy of reset 'scopes' whereby efx_reset()
decides some resets subsume others. Thus, it uses separate logic.
Also, fixed up some inconsistency around RESET_TYPE_MC_BIST,
which was in the wrong place in that hierarchy.

When using the "separate_tx_channels=1" module parameter, the TX queues are
initially numbered starting from the first TX-only channel number (after all the
RX-only channels). efx_set_channels() renumbers the queues so that they are
indexed from zero.
On EF10, the TX queues need to be relabelled in this way before calling the
dimension_resources NIC type operation, otherwise the TX queue PIO buffers can be
linked to the wrong VIs when using "separate_tx_channels=1".

newly introduced field that advertises the number of programmable

Processing any incoming packets with a with a napi budget of 0
is incorrect driver behavior.
This matters as netpoll will shortly call drivers with a budget of 0
to avoid receive packet processing happening in hard irq context.

If we receive a PTP event from the NIC when we haven't set up PTP state

We allocate efx_channel structures with kzalloc() so we don't need to
zero-initialise individual fields in efx_probe_channel(). Further,
this function will be called again during DMA ring resizing and we
should not reset any statistics then.

EF10 implements option descriptors to switch TX checksum offload
on and off between packets. We could therefore use a single

There is substantial latency in generation and handling of PPS events
from the NIC, which we have to correct for before passing a host
timestamp to the PPS subsystem. We compare clocks with the MC,
giving us two offsets to subtract from the timestamp generated by
pps_get_ts():
(a) Time from the last good sync (where we got host and NIC timestamps
for nearly the same instant) to the time we called pps_get_ts()
(b) Time from NIC top of second to the last good sync
We currently calculate (a) + (b) in a quite confusing way.
Instead, calculate (a) completely, then add (b) to it.

As part of a workaround for a hardware erratum in the SFC9100 family
(SF bug 35388), the TX_DESC_UPD_DWORD register address is also used
for communicating with the event block, and only descriptor pointer
values < 2048 are valid.
If the TX DMA ring size is increased to 4096 descriptors (which the
firmware still allows) then we may write a descriptor pointer
value >= 2048, which has entirely different and undesirable effects!
Limit the TX DMA ring size correctly when this workaround is in
effect.

Currently a higher priority client can remove a lower priority
client's filter with equal match-expression. This might happen if (a)
the higher priority client has a double-free bug, or (b) another
client with sufficient priority replaced and then removed an equal
filter, allowing the low priority client to insert an equal filter.
In neither case does it actually make sense to carry out the removal;
we should say the filter doesn't exist, as the filter currently
present is not the one that the high-priority client is referring to.

the device address list is based on more than just what the network
stack wants, and the no-match filters aren't really what the stack
wants at all.

MAC filters inserted automatically by the driver, based on the device
address list (EF10) or no-match filters (Siena), should be overridable
at MANUAL or REQUIRED priority. Currently they themselves have
REQUIRED priority and this requires some odd special-casing.
We also can't reliably tell whether such a MAC filter has or has
not been overridden. We just remember that it is wanted by the
stack (RX_STACK flag).
Add another priority level, AUTO, between HINT and MANUAL, and
use this for the automatic filters while they have not been
overridden. Remove the RX_STACK flag. Add an RX_OVER_AUTO
flag which is set only when an AUTO filter has been overridden
(or was requested to be inserted while a higher-priority filter
existed).

The SFC9100 family has only one clock per controller, shared by all
functions. Therefore only create a clock device under the primary
function, and make all other functions refer to the primary's clock
device.
Since PTP functionality is limited to port 0 and PF 0 on the earlier
SFN[56]322F boards, and we also set the primary flag for that
function, we can make the creation of a clock device conditional only
on this flag.

The primary function of an EF10 controller will share its clock
device with other functions in the same domain (which we call
secondary functions). To this end, we need to associate functions
on the same controller.
We do not control probe order, so allow primary and secondary
functions to appear in any order. Maintain global lists of all
primary functions and of unassociated secondary functions,
and a list of secondary functions on each primary function.
Use the VPD serial number to tell whether functions are part of the
same controller. VPD will not be readable by virtual functions, so
this may need to be revisited later.

The EF10 firmware can optionally insert RX timestamps in the packet
prefix. These only include the clock minor value. We must also
enable periodic time sync events on each event queue which provide
the high bits of the clock value.

We can potentially pull the entire packet contents into the head area
and then free the page it was in. In order to read an inline
timestamp safely, we need to copy the prefix into the head area as
well.

The clock minor tick on the SFC9100 family is 2^-27 s, not 1 ns.
There are also various pipeline delays which we need to correct for
when interpreting timestamps.
We query the firmware for the clock format and corrections at run-time.

addresses. The name field is now documented as 'A short "friendly
name" to identify the clock ...' and '... not meant to be a unique
id.' So use the name 'sfc'.

We need a dedicated channel on Siena to ensure we can match up
the separate RX and timestamp events for each PTP packet. We won't
do this for EF10 as timestamps are delivered inline.
Pass a channel index of 0 to MC_CMD_PTP_OP_ENABLE when there is no
dedicated channel.

The MC firmware will return error MC_CMD_ERR_ENOSPC if filter
insertion fails due to lack of resources. The net driver's filter
implementation for Falcon-architecture returns EBUSY. They should
behave consistently, so for EF10 change ENOSPC to EBUSY.

efx_flush_all() is a really misleading name - it has nothing to do
with e.g. flushing DMA queues. Since it's called immediately after
efx_stop_port() and is highly dependent on what that does, combine
the two functions.
Update comments to explain what this is doing a little better.
Also update an related and erroneous comment in efx_start_port().

Split each of efx_mcdi_rpc, efx_mcdi_rpc_finish, and efx_mcdi_rpc_async into
a normal and a _quiet version; made the former log MCDI errors with
netif_err (and include the raw MCDI error code), and the latter never log
them at all. Changed various callers; any where some errors are expected
(but others are not) call the _quiet version and then if necessary log the
MCDI error themselves. Said logging is done by new efx_mcdi_display_error.
Callers of efx_mcdi_rpc*_quiet functions which may want to log the error
need to ensure that their outbuf is big enough to hold an MCDI error; to
this end, they now use MCDI_DECLARE_BUF_OUT_OR_ERR, which always allocates
at least 8 bytes.

We don't directly control RX ingress on Siena or any later
controllers, and so we cannot prevent packets from entering the RX
datapath while the RX queues are not set up. This results in
the hardware incrementing RX_NODESC_DROP_CNT, but it's not an
error and we should not include it in error stats.
When bringing an interface up or down, pull (or wait for) stats and
count the number of packets that were dropped while the interface was
down. Subtract this from the reported RX dropped count.

The addition of RX event merging support means we don't reliably
detect dropped RX events now. Currently we will only detect them if
the previous event for the RX queue had the CONT bit set.
Only accept RX completion events as merged if the
GET_CAPABILITIES_OUT_RX_BATCHING bit is set in datapath_caps (which it
won't be for the low-latency datapath) and the CONT bit is not set on
the event.

To run BISTs the MC goes down in to a special mode where it will only
respond to MCDI from the testing PF, and TX, RX and event queues are
torn down. Other PFs get a message as it goes down to tell them it's
going down.
When the other PFs get this message, they check the soft status
register to tell when the MC has rebooted after BIST mode and they can
start recovery.

The MC firmware is cooperatively multitasking and its scheduler will
send an event when a task yields after running for more than the
expected maximum time. This can be useful for firmware development
but does not usually indicate a serious error and does not help to
detect a lockup (there is a hardware watchdog that does that).
Change the message and reduce log level accordingly.

There is an as-yet unexplained bug that sometimes prevents (or delays)
the driver seeing the completion event for a completed MCDI request on
the SFC9120. The requested configuration change will have happened
but the driver assumes it to have failed, and this can result in
further failures. We can mitigate this by polling for completion
after unsuccessfully waiting for an event.

rx_prefix_size is 4-bytes aligned on Falcon/Siena (16 bytes), but it is equal
to 14 on EF10. So, it should be taken into account if arch requires IP header
to be 4-bytes aligned (via NET_IP_ALIGN).

There is a single MCDI PTP operation for setting the frequency
adjustment and applying a time offset to the hardware clock. When
applying a time offset we should not change the frequency adjustment.
These two operations can now be requested separately but this requires
a flash firmware update. Keep using the single operation, but
remember and repeat the previous frequency adjustment.

This disables PTP when we bring the interface down to avoid getting
unmatched RX timestamp events, and tries to re-enable it when bringing
the interface up.

In case of a flood of PTP packets, the timestamp peripheral and MC
firmware on the SFN[56]322F boards may not be able to provide
timestamp events for all packets. Don't complain too much about this.

efx_ptp_is_ptp_tx() must be robust against skbs from raw sockets that
have invalid IPv4 and UDP headers.
Add checks that:
- the transport header has been found
- there is enough space between network and transport header offset
for an IPv4 header
- there is enough space after the transport header offset for a
UDP header

Pull DMA mask updates from Russell King:
"This series cleans up the handling of DMA masks in a lot of drivers,
fixing some bugs as we go.
Some of the more serious errors include:
- drivers which only set their coherent DMA mask if the attempt to
set the streaming mask fails.
- drivers which test for a NULL dma mask pointer, and then set the
dma mask pointer to a location in their module .data section -
which will cause problems if the module is reloaded.
To counter these, I have introduced two helper functions:
- dma_set_mask_and_coherent() takes care of setting both the
streaming and coherent masks at the same time, with the correct
error handling as specified by the API.
- dma_coerce_mask_and_coherent() which resolves the problem of
drivers forcefully setting DMA masks. This is more a marker for
future work to further clean these locations up - the code which
creates the devices really should be initialising these, but to fix
that in one go along with this change could potentially be very
disruptive.
The last thing this series does is prise away some of Linux's addition
to "DMA addresses are physical addresses and RAM always starts at
zero". We have ARM LPAE systems where all system memory is above 4GB
physical, hence having DMA masks interpreted by (eg) the block layers
as describing physical addresses in the range 0..DMAMASK fails on
these platforms. Santosh Shilimkar addresses this in this series; the
patches were copied to the appropriate people multiple times but were
ignored.
Fixing this also gets rid of some ARM weirdness in the setup of the
max*pfn variables, and brings ARM into line with every other Linux
architecture as far as those go"

When using firmware assisted TSO, we use a single DMA mapping for
the linear area of a TSO skb.
We still have to segment the super-packet and insert a descriptor
containing the original headers before each segment of payload, so we
can unmap the linear area only after the last segment is completed.
The unmapping information for the linear area is therefore associated
with the last header descriptor.
We calculate the DMA address to unmap from using the map length and
the invariant that the end of the DMA mapping matches the end of
the data referenced by the last descriptor. But this invariant is
broken when there is TCP payload in the linear area.
Fix this by adding and using an explicit dma_offset field.

Although we do not yet enable multiple PFs per port, it is possible
that a board will be reconfigured to enable them while the driver has
not yet been updated to fully support this.
The most obvious problem is that multiple functions may try to set
conflicting link settings. But we will also run into trouble if the
firmware doesn't consider us fully trusted. So, abort probing unless
both the LinkCtrl and Trusted flags are set for this function.

Recognise the new Packet Memory and RX Data Path counters.
The following counters are added:
rx_pm_{trunc,discard}_bb_overflow - burst buffer overflowed. This should not
occur if BB correctly configured.
rx_pm_{trunc,discard}_vfifo_full - not enough space in packet memory. May
indicate RX performance problems.
rx_pm_{trunc,discard}_qbb - dropped by 802.1Qbb early discard mechanism.
Since Qbb is not supported at present, this should not occur.
rx_pm_discard_mapping - 802.1p priority configured to be dropped. This should
not occur in normal operation.
rx_dp_q_disabled_packets - packet was to be delivered to a queue but queue is
disabled. May indicate misconfiguration by the driver.
rx_dp_di_dropped_packets - parser-dispatcher indicated that a packet should be
dropped.
rx_dp_streaming_packets - packet was sent to the RXDP streaming bus, ie. a
filter directed the packet to the MCPU.
rx_dp_emerg_{fetch,wait} - RX datapath had to wait for descriptors to be
loaded. Indicates performance problems but not drops.
These are only provided if the MC firmware has the
PM_AND_RXDP_COUNTERS capability. Otherwise, mask them out.
