610fce5372 media: sh_veu: convert to struct v4l2_fh
This driver didn't use struct v4l2_fh, so add it.

This is a very basic conversion. I can't test this on real hardware,
so I didn't dare to also convert the driver to start using the
v4l2-mem2mem ioctl/fop helpers.

8defd70a9b media: sh_veu/sh_vou: set device_caps in struct video_device
Instead of filling in the struct v4l2_capability device_caps
field, fill in the struct video_device device_caps field.

That way the V4L2 core knows what the capabilities of the
video device are.

59fe916c84 media: media/platform: don't set description in ENUM_FMT
The V4L2 core sets the format description and flags for the driver in order
to ensure consistent naming.

So drop the strscpy of the description in drivers. Also remove any
description strings in driver-internal structures since those are
no longer needed.

And in am437x-vpfe.c drop an unnecessary f->type assignment in
vpfe_enum_fmt().

2c2a8dc32c media: platform/sh_veu.c: remove redundant NULL pointer checks
Function `sh_veu_find_fmt` returns an address that is an addition of a
base pointer `sh_veu_fmt` and an offset. The base pointer refers to a
global variable of which address cannot be NULL. Therefore, this commit
removes the NULL pointer checks on the return values of function
`sh_veu_find_fmt`.

43c145195c media: sh_veu: Correct return type for mem2mem buffer helpers
Fix the assigned type of mem2mem buffer handling API.
Namely, these functions:

 v4l2_m2m_next_buf
 v4l2_m2m_last_buf
 v4l2_m2m_buf_remove
 v4l2_m2m_next_src_buf
 v4l2_m2m_next_dst_buf
 v4l2_m2m_last_src_buf
 v4l2_m2m_last_dst_buf
 v4l2_m2m_src_buf_remove
 v4l2_m2m_dst_buf_remove

return a struct vb2_v4l2_buffer, and not a struct vb2_buffer.

Fixing this is necessary to fix the mem2mem buffer handling API,
changing the return to the correct struct vb2_v4l2_buffer instead
of a void pointer.

168fe32a07 Merge branch 'misc.poll' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/viro/vfs
Pull poll annotations from Al Viro:
"This introduces a __bitwise type for POLL### bitmap, and propagates
the annotations through the tree. Most of that stuff is as simple as
'make ->poll() instances return __poll_t and do the same to local
variables used to hold the future return value'.

Some of the obvious brainos found in process are fixed (e.g. POLLIN
misspelled as POLL_IN). At that point the amount of sparse warnings is
low and most of them are for genuine bugs - e.g. ->poll() instance
deciding to return -EINVAL instead of a bitmap. I hadn't touched those
in this series - it's large enough as it is.

Another problem it has caught was eventpoll() ABI mess; select.c and
eventpoll.c assumed that corresponding POLL### and EPOLL### were
equal. That's true for some, but not all of them - EPOLL### are
  arch-independent, but POLL### are not.

The last commit in this series separates userland POLL### values from
the (now arch-independent) kernel-side ones, converting between them
in the few places where they are copied to/from userland. AFAICS, this
is the least disruptive fix preserving poll(2) ABI and making epoll()
  work on all architectures.

As it is, it's simply broken on sparc - try to give it EPOLLWRNORM and
it will trigger only on what would've triggered EPOLLWRBAND on other
architectures. EPOLLWRBAND and EPOLLRDHUP, OTOH, are never triggered
at all on sparc. With this patch they should work consistently on all
  architectures"

36c0f8b32c [media] vb2: replace void *alloc_ctxs by struct device *alloc_devs
Make this a proper typed array. Drop the old allocate context code since
that is no longer used.

Note that the memops functions now get a struct device pointer instead of
the struct device ** that was there initially (actually a void pointer to
a struct containing only a struct device pointer).

This code is now a lot cleaner.

df9ecb0cad [media] vb2: drop v4l2_format argument from queue_setup
The queue_setup callback has a void pointer that is just for V4L2
and is the pointer to the v4l2_format struct that was passed to
VIDIOC_CREATE_BUFS. The idea was that drivers would use the information
from that struct to buffers suitable for the requested format.

After the vb2 split series this pointer is now a void pointer,
which is ugly, and the reality is that all existing drivers will
effectively just look at the sizeimage field of v4l2_format.

To make this more generic the queue_setup callback is changed:
the void pointer is dropped, instead if the *num_planes argument
is 0, then use the current format size, if it is non-zero, then
it contains the number of requested planes and the sizes array
contains the requested sizes. If either is unsupported, then return
-EINVAL, otherwise use the requested size(s).

d52e238136 [media] v4l: Support extending the v4l2_pix_format structure
The v4l2_pix_format structure has no reserved field. It is embedded in
the v4l2_framebuffer structure which has no reserved fields either, and
in the v4l2_format structure which has reserved fields that were not
previously required to be zeroed out by applications.

To allow extending v4l2_pix_format, inline it in the v4l2_framebuffer
structure, and use the priv field as a magic value to indicate that the
application has set all v4l2_pix_format extended fields and zeroed all
reserved fields following the v4l2_pix_format field in the v4l2_format
structure.

The availability of this API extension is reported to userspace through
the new V4L2_CAP_EXT_PIX_FORMAT capability flag. Just checking that the
priv field is still set to the magic value at [GS]_FMT return wouldn't
be enough, as older kernels don't zero the priv field on return.

To simplify the internal API towards drivers zero the extended fields
and set the priv field to the magic value for applications not aware of
the extensions.

697a6d2387 [media] sh_veu: fix the buffer size calculation
The 'bytesperline' value only indicates the stride of the Y plane
if the color format is planar, such as NV12. When calculating
the total plane size, the size of CbCr plane must also be considered.

6abb3cf2c3 [media] sh_veu: keep power supply until the m2m context is released
In the sh_veu driver, only the interrupt handler 'sh_veu_bh'
can invoke the v4l2_m2m_job_finish() function.
So the hardware must be alive for handling interrupts
until returning from v4l2_m2m_ctx_release().

9166e1aae3 [media] sh_veu: invoke v4l2_m2m_job_finish() even if a job has been aborted
v4l2_m2m_job_finish() should be invoked even if the current
ongoing job has been aborted since v4l2_m2m_ctx_release() which
has issued the job abort may wait until the finish function is invoked.

3151d14aa6 [media] media: remove __dev* annotations
Hi Mauro,
After merging the v4l-dvb tree, today's linux-next build (x86_64
allmodconfig) failed like this:
drivers/media/platform/sh_veu.c:1146:22: error: expected '=', ',', ';', 'asm' or '__attribute__' before 'sh_veu_probe'
drivers/media/platform/sh_veu.c:1228:22: error: expected '=', ',', ';', 'asm' or '__attribute__' before 'sh_veu_remove'
drivers/media/platform/sh_veu.c:1244:2: error: implicit declaration of function '__devexit_p' [-Werror=implicit-function-declaration]
drivers/media/platform/sh_veu.c:1244:25: error: 'sh_veu_remove' undeclared here (not in a function)
drivers/media/platform/sh_veu.c: In function 'sh_veu_init':
drivers/media/platform/sh_veu.c:1253:45: error: 'sh_veu_probe' undeclared (first use in this function)
drivers/media/platform/sh_veu.c:1253:45: note: each undeclared identifier is reported only once for each function it appears in
drivers/media/platform/sh_veu.c: At top level:
drivers/media/platform/sh_veu.c:1095:20: warning: 'sh_veu_bh' defined but not used [-Wunused-function]
drivers/media/platform/sh_veu.c:1109:20: warning: 'sh_veu_isr' defined but not used [-Wunused-function]
drivers/media/platform/sh_veu.c: In function 'sh_veu_init':
drivers/media/platform/sh_veu.c:1254:1: warning: control reaches end of non-void function [-Wreturn-type]
Caused by commit 05efa71bdc ("[media] media: add a VEU MEM2MEM format
conversion and scaling driver") interacting with commit 54b956b903
("Remove __dev* markings from init.h") from the driver-core.current tree.
I have applied the following merge fix patch which could be applied
directly to the v4l-dvb tree (please):
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is always true now and the __dev* macros have meen removed.

05efa71bdc [media] media: add a VEU MEM2MEM format conversion and scaling driver
Video Engine Unit (VEU) is an IP block, found in multiple SuperH and ARM-
based sh-mobile and r-mobile SoCs, capable of processing video data. It
can perform colour-space conversion, scaling and several filtering
transformations. This patch adds an initial implementation of a mem2mem
V4L2 driver for VEU. So far only conversion from NV12 to RGB565 is
supported. Further functionality shall be added in the future.
This driver is based on a VEU vidix driver by Magnus Damm.
