19e1e98fbf pinctrl: sh-pfc: Add r8a7793 support
Regarding pin control, r8a7791 and r8a7793 are identical, so it is
sufficient to add an sh_pfc_soc_info structure to enable r8a7793 support.

592be8d3c1 pinctrl: sh-pfc: Remove r8a73a4 platform_device_id entry
As of commit 9d07d414d4 ("ARM: shmobile: r8a73a4: ape6evm: Remove
legacy platform"), r8a73a4 is only supported in generic DT-only ARM
multi-platform builds. The driver doesn't need to match platform
devices by name anymore, hence remove the corresponding
platform_device_id entry.

1f34de05e7 pinctrl: sh-pfc: Use u32 to store register addresses
Currently all PFC registers lie in low 32-bit address space. Hence use
u32 instead of unsigned long to store PFC register addresses in pinctrl
tables. All calculations of virtual addresses use a phys_addr_t
intermediate, so we know where to add an offset if the 32-bit assumption
ever becomes false.

While this doesn't impact 32-bit builds, it would save ca. 7 KiB on a
64-bit shmobile_defconfig kernel.

17c7cbb0e7 pinctrl: sh-pfc: Use reg_width instead of reg as sentinel
All other loops over sh_pfc_soc_info.data_regs[] use
pinmux_data_reg.regwidth as the sentinel, which is safer as zero is
never a valid regwidth value (reg could be zero if we start using it to
store an offset).

cef28a2894 pinctrl: sh-pfc: Use unsigned int for register/field widths and offsets
As register and field widths and offsets are in the range 1..32, use
unsigned int (mostly replacing unsigned long) to store them in local
variables and for passing them around.

Move to one variable per line, move variables to the beginning of the
block where they are used, and drop superfluous initializations while we
are at it.

dc70071550 pinctrl: sh-pfc: Store register/field widths in u8 instead of unsigned long
Register and field widths are in the range 1..32. Storing them in the
pinctrl data in (arrays of) unsigned long wastes space.

This decreases the size of a (32-bit) shmobile_defconfig kernel

05c5f265c6 pinctrl: sh-pfc: Do not overwrite bias configuration
After the last user of the in_pd/in_pu bias parameters of the _PCRH()
macro was removed in commit 80da8e02d2 ("sh-pfc: r8a7740: Add bias
(pull-up/down) pinconf support"), bias parameters are supposed to be
configured using the generic pinctl mechanism, which calls the
.set_bias() method.

However, the PORTCR() macro still represents the control register as
consisting of two 4-bit fields. Hence the bias configuration in the
uppermost 2 bits is always overwritten with zeroes when a pin is
configured for GPIO, disabling any previously configured bias.

Use the variable config register macro instead, to represent the
register as having 4 fields, and to make sure only the input/output
control and function fields are touched.

This affects R-Mobile APE6 (r8a73a4), R-Mobile A1 (r8a7740), SH-Mobile
AP4 (sh7372), and SH-Mobile AG5 (sh73a0).

dd4d01f7ba pinctrl: pinconf-generic: Allow driver to specify DT params
Additionally to the generic DT parameters, allow drivers to provide
driver-specific DT parameters to be used with the generic parser
infrastructure.

To achieve this 'struct pinctrl_desc' is extended to pass custom pinconf
option to the core. In order to pass this kind of information, the
related data structures - 'struct pinconf_generic_dt_params',
'pin_config_item' - are moved from pinconf internals to the
pinconf-generic header.

Additionally pinconfg-generic is refactored to not only iterate over the
generic pinconf parameters but also take the parameters into account
that are provided through the driver's 'struct pinctrl_desc'.
In particular 'pinconf_generic_parse_dt_config()' and
'pinconf_generic_dump' helpers are split into two parts each. In order
to have a more generic helper that can be used to process the generic
parameters as well as the driver-specific ones.

v2:
 - fix typo
 - add missing documentation for @conf_items member in struct
 - rebase to pinctrl/devel: conflict in abx500
 - rename _pinconf_generic_dump() to pinconf_generic_dump_one()
 - removed '_' from _parse_dt_cfg()
 - removed BUG_ONs, error condition is handled in if statements
 - removed pinconf_generic_dump_group() & pinconf_generic_dump_pin
   helpers
   - fixed up corresponding call sites
   - renamed pinconf_generic_dump() to pinconf_generic_dump_pins()
   - added kernel-doc to pinconf_generic_dump_pins()
 - add kernel-doc
 - more verbose commit message

commit 2243a87d90
"pinctrl: avoid duplicated calling enable_pinmux_setting for a pin"
removed the .disable callback from the struct pinmux_ops,
making the .enable() callback the only remaining callback.

However .enable() is a bad name as it seems to imply that a
muxing can also be disabled. Rename the callback to .set_mux()
and also take this opportunity to clean out any remaining
mentions of .disable() from the documentation.

2243a87d90 pinctrl: avoid duplicated calling enable_pinmux_setting for a pin
What the patch does:
1. Call pinmux_disable_setting ahead of pinmux_enable_setting
  each time pinctrl_select_state is called
2. Remove the HW disable operation in pinmux_disable_setting function.
3. Remove the disable ops in struct pinmux_ops
4. Remove all the disable ops users in current code base.

Notes:
1. Great thanks for the suggestion from Linus, Tony Lindgren and
   Stephen Warren and Everyone that shared comments on this patch.
2. The patch also includes comment fixes from Stephen Warren.

The reason why we do this:
1. To avoid duplicated calling of the enable_setting operation
   without disabling operation inbetween which will let the pin
   descriptor desc->mux_usecount increase monotonously.
2. The HW pin disable operation is not useful for any of the
   existing platforms.
   And this can be used to avoid the HW glitch after using the
   item #1 modification.

In the following case, the issue can be reproduced:
1. There is a driver that need to switch pin state dynamically,
   e.g. between "sleep" and "default" state
2. The pin setting configuration in a DTS node may be like this:

  component a {
	pinctrl-names = "default", "sleep";
	pinctrl-0 = <&a_grp_setting &c_grp_setting>;
	pinctrl-1 = <&b_grp_setting &c_grp_setting>;
  }

  The "c_grp_setting" config node is totally identical, maybe like
  following one:

  c_grp_setting: c_grp_setting {
	pinctrl-single,pins = <GPIO48 AF6>;
  }

3. When switching the pin state in the following official pinctrl
   sequence:
	pin = pinctrl_get();
	state = pinctrl_lookup_state(wanted_state);
	pinctrl_select_state(state);
	pinctrl_put();

Test Result:
1. The switch is completed as expected, that is: the device's
   pin configuration is changed according to the description in the
   "wanted_state" group setting
2. The "desc->mux_usecount" of the corresponding pins in "c_group"
   is increased without being decreased, because the "desc" is for
   each physical pin while the setting is for each setting node
   in the DTS.
   Thus, if the "c_grp_setting" in pinctrl-0 is not disabled ahead
   of enabling "c_grp_setting" in pinctrl-1, the desc->mux_usecount
   will keep increasing without any chance to be decreased.

According to the comments in the original code, only the setting,
in old state but not in new state, will be "disabled" (calling
pinmux_disable_setting), which is correct logic but not intact. We
still need consider case that the setting is in both old state
and new state. We can do this in the following two ways:

1. Avoid to "enable"(calling pinmux_enable_setting) the "same pin
   setting" repeatedly
2. "Disable"(calling pinmux_disable_setting) the "same pin setting",
   actually two setting instances, ahead of enabling them.

Analysis:
1. The solution #2 is better because it can avoid too much
   iteration.
2. If we disable all of the settings in the old state and one of
   the setting(s) exist in the new state, the pins mux function
   change may happen when some SoC vendors defined the
   "pinctrl-single,function-off"
   in their DTS file.
   old_setting => disabled_setting => new_setting.
3. In the pinmux framework, when a pin state is switched, the
   setting in the old state should be marked as "disabled".

Conclusion:
1. To Remove the HW disabling operation to above the glitch mentioned
   above.
2. Handle the issue mentioned above by disabling all of the settings
   in old state and then enable the all of the settings in new state.

bd698cf659 This is the bulk of pin control changes for the v3.16
development cycle:

 - Antoine Tenart made the get_group_pins() vtable entry
   optional.

 - Antoine also provides an entirely new driver for the
   Marvell Berlin SoC. This is unrelated to the existing
   MVEBU hardware driver and warrants its own separate
   driver.

 - Reflected from the GPIO subsystem there is a number of
   refactorings to make pin control drivers with gpiochips
   use the new gpiolib irqchip helpers. The following
   drivers were converted to use the new infrastructure:

   - ST Microelectronics STiH416 and friends

   - The Atmel AT91

   - The CSR SiRF (Prima2)

   - The Qualcomm MSM series

 - Massive improvements in the Qualcomm MSM driver from
   Bjorn Andersson, Andy Gross and Kumar Gala. Among those
   new support for the IPQ8064 and MSM8x74 SoC variants.

 - Support for the Freescale i.MX6 SoloX SoC variant.

 - Massive improvements in the Allwinner sunxi driver from
   Boris Brezillon, Maxime Ripard and Chen-Yu Tsai.

 - Renesas PFC updates from Laurent Pinchart, Kuninori
   Morimoto, Wolfram Sang and Magnus Damm.

 - Cleanups and refactorings of the nVidia Tegra driver from
   Stepgen Warren.

 - The Exynos driver now supports the Exynos3250 SoC.

 - Intel BayTrail updates from Jin Yao, Mika Westerberg.

 - The MVEBU driver now supports the Orion5x SoC
   variants, which is part of the effort of getting rid of
   the old Marvell kludges in arch/arm/mach-orion5x

 - Rockchip driver updates from Heiko Stuebner.

 - A ton of cleanups and janitorial patches from Axel Lin.

Merge tag 'pinctrl-v3.14-1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/linusw/linux-pinctrl

Pull bulk pin control changes from Linus Walleij:
 "This has been queued and tested for a while. Lots of action here,
  like in the GPIO tree, embedded stuff like this is really hot now it
  seems. Details in the signed tag. I'm especially happy about the
  Qualcomm driver as it is used in such a huge subset of mobile handsets
  out there, and these platforms in general need better upstream support

   - New driver for the Qualcomm TLMM pin controller and its msm8x74
     subdriver.

   - New driver for the Broadcom Capri BCM281xx SoC.

   - New subdriver for the imx25 pin controller.

   - New subdriver for the Tegra124 pin controller.

   - Lock GPIO lines as IRQs for select combined pin control and GPIO
     drivers for baytrail and sirf.

   - Some semi-big refactorings and extenstions to the sirf driver.

   - Lots of patching, cleanup and fixing in the Renesas "PFC" driver
     and associated subdrivers as usual. It is settling down a little
     bit now it seems.

   - Minor fixes and incremental updates here and there as usual"

70c8f01a35 sh-pfc: Support GPIO to IRQ mapping specified IRQ resources
On non-DT platforms IRQ controllers associated with the GPIOs have a
fixed IRQ base value known at compile time. The sh-pfc driver translates
GPIO number to IRQ numbers using a hardcoded table. This mechanism
breaks on DT platforms, as the IRQ base values are dynamic in that case.

Fix this by specifying IRQs associated with GPIOs in IRQ resources,
populated automatically from the device tree. When IRQ resources are
specified the driver requires one IRQ resource per GPIO able to generate
an interrupt, and uses the translation table to compute the IRQ resource
offset instead of the IRQ number.

f6aaaac999 sh-pfc: r8a7790: add pin definitions for the I2C3 interface
There are four I2C interfaces on r8a7790, each of them can be connected to
one of the two respective I2C controllers, e.g. interface #0 can be
configured to work with I2C0 or with IIC0. Additionally some of those
interfaces can also use one of several pin sets. Interface #3 is special,
because it can be used in automatic mode for DVFS. It only has one set
of pins available and those pins cannot be used for anything else, they
also lack the GPIO function.

This patch uses the sh-pfc ability to configure pins, not associated with
GPIOs and adds support for I2C3 to the r8a7790 PFC set up.

03b054e969 pinctrl: Pass all configs to driver on pin_config_set()
When setting pin configuration in the pinctrl framework, pin_config_set() or
pin_config_group_set() is called in a loop to set one configuration at a time
for the specified pin or group.

This patch 1) removes the loop and 2) changes the API to pass the whole pin
config array to the driver. It is now up to the driver to loop through the
configs. This allows the driver to potentially combine configs and reduce the
number of writes to pin config registers.

All c files changed have been build-tested to verify the change compiles and
that the corresponding .o is successfully generated.

3a8d63d4b4 sh-pfc: Guard DT parsing with #ifdef CONFIG_OF
Fix a compilation error caused by pinconf_generic_parse_dt_config() not
being defined on !CONFIG_OF platforms by guarding the whole DT node
parsing code with #ifdef CONFIG_OF.

Defining a pinconf_generic_parse_dt_config() on !CONFIG_OF would have
been possible as well, but would have resulted in a larger code size on
!CONFIG_OF platforms (such as arch/sh).
