4a5861f714 platform/x86: intel_pmc_core: Avoid a u32 overflow
The register (SLP_S0_RES) at offset slp_s0_offset is a 32 bit register.
The pmc_core_adjust_slp_s0_step() could overflow the u32 value while
returning it after adjusting the step. Thus change to u64, this is
already accounted for in debugfs attribute (that wants to output a
64 bit value).

c355ec651a platform/x86: wmi: fix potential null pointer dereference
In the function wmi_dev_match() the variable id is dereferenced without
first performing a NULL check. The variable can for example be NULL if
a WMI driver is registered without specifying the id_table field in

Add a NULL check and return that the driver can't handle the device if

fd47a36fba platform/x86: dell_rbu: stop abusing the DMA API
For some odd reason dell_rbu actually seems to want the physical and
not a bus address for the allocated buffer. Lets assume that actually
is correct given that it is BIOS-related and that is a good source
of insanity. In that case we should not use dma_alloc_coherent with
a NULL device to allocate memory, but use GFP_DMA32 to stay under
the 32-bit BIOS limit.

4d9b2864a4 platform/x86: ideapad-laptop: Fix no_hw_rfkill_list for Lenovo RESCUER R720-15IKBN
Commit ae7c8cba32 ("platform/x86: ideapad-laptop: add lenovo RESCUER
R720-15IKBN to no_hw_rfkill_list") added
    DMI_MATCH(DMI_BOARD_NAME, "80WW")
for Lenovo RESCUER R720-15IKBN.

But DMI_BOARD_NAME does not match 80WW on Lenovo RESCUER R720-15IKBN,
thus cause Wireless LAN still be hard blocked.

On Lenovo RESCUER R720-15IKBN:
    ~$ cat /sys/class/dmi/id/sys_vendor
    LENOVO
    ~$ cat /sys/class/dmi/id/board_name
    Provence-5R3
    ~$ cat /sys/class/dmi/id/product_name
    80WW
    ~$ cat /sys/class/dmi/id/product_version
    Lenovo R720-15IKBN

So on Lenovo RESCUER R720-15IKBN:
    DMI_SYS_VENDOR should match "LENOVO",
    DMI_BOARD_NAME should match "Provence-5R3",
    DMI_PRODUCT_NAME should match "80WW",
    DMI_PRODUCT_VERSION should match "Lenovo R720-15IKBN".

Fix it, and in according with other entries in no_hw_rfkill_list,
use DMI_PRODUCT_VERSION instead of DMI_BOARD_NAME.

c994611aca platform/x86: asus-wmi: Allow loading on systems without the Asus Management GUID
hid-asus depends on asus-wmi through the asus_wmi_evaluate_method. Before
this commit asus-wmi, and thus hid-asus, could not be loaded on non-Asus
systems. This breaks using Asus bluetooth keyboards such as the Asus
T100CHI keyboard with non Asus systems.

This commit fixes this by allowing asus-wmi to load on systems without the
Asus Management GUID.

This is safe to do since all asus-wmi sub drivers use
asus_wmi_register_driver which also checks for the GUID.

This commit also improves the error messages in asus_wmi_register_driver
to include "ASUS" in their description to make them more clear. This is
important since we now rely on those errors when loaded on systems without
the Asus Management GUID.

2a13096ac7 platform/x86: intel_pmc_core: Include Reserved IP for LTR
Recently introduced commit "platform/x86: intel_pmc_core: Show Latency
Tolerance info <51337cd94d18184601ac0fb4cf1a02b8bbabc3d7> skipped the
LTR from a reserved IP. Though this doesn't cause any functional issue
but it is needed for the consumers of "ltr_ignore" as the index printing
for "ltr_show" is missing. For example, w/o this change, a user that wants
to ignore LTR from ME would do something like

echo 5 > ltr_ignore

but the index for ME is 6. Printing a reserved IP helps to properly
calculate LTR ignore offsets.

0e68eeea98 platform/x86: intel_pmc_core: Fix PCH IP sts reading
A previous commit "platform/x86: intel_pmc_core: Make the driver PCH
family agnostic <c977b98bbef5898ed3d30b08ea67622e9e82082a>" provided
better abstraction to this driver but has some fundamental issues.

e.g. the following condition

for (index = 0; index < pmcdev->map->ppfear_buckets &&
	index < PPFEAR_MAX_NUM_ENTRIES; index++, iter++)

is wrong because for CNL, PPFEAR_MAX_NUM_ENTRIES is hardcoded as 5 which
is _wrong_ and even though ppfear_buckets is 8, the loop fails to read
all eight registers needed for CNL PCH i.e. PPFEAR0 and PPFEAR1. This
patch refactors the pfear show logic to correctly read PCH IP power
gating status for Cannonlake and beyond.

96f984d312 ACPI / scan: Create platform device for BSG2150 ACPI nodes
The Point of View TAB-P1006W-232-3G tablet has an ACPI firmware node with
a HID of BSG2150 describing the 2 Bosch sensors used in the device a
BMC150 compatible accelerometer and a BMC150 compatible magnetometer.

The ACPI firmware node actually contains 3 I2cSerialBusV2 resources,
but this seems to be a copy and paste job from the BSG1160 firmware node
on other devices, since there is no i2c-client listening to the 0x68
address listed in the third resource and the 0x68 address is identical
to the address of the third resource in the BSG1160 nodes, where as the
other 2 addresses are different.

Add the ID to the I2C multi instantiate list, so that the
i2c-multi-instantiate.c driver can handle it;

And add the necessary info to the i2c-multi-instantiate.c driver to
enumerate all I2C slaves correctly.

To avoid triggering the:

        if (i < multi->num_clients) {
                dev_err(dev, "Error finding driver, idx %d\n", i);

Error this commit lists the 3th device in the i2c_inst_data with a
type of "bsg2150_dummy_dev".

457fa3469a Char/Misc driver patches for 4.21-rc1
Here is the big set of char and misc driver patches for 4.21-rc1.

Lots of different types of driver things in here, as this tree seems to
be the "collection of various driver subsystems not big enough to have
 their own git tree" lately.

Anyway, some highlights of the changes in here:
   - binderfs: is it a rule that all driver subsystems will eventually
grow to have their own filesystem? Binder now has one to handle the
use of it in containerized systems. This was discussed at the
Plumbers conference a few months ago and knocked into mergable shape
very fast by Christian Brauner. Who also has signed up to be
another binder maintainer, showing a distinct lack of good judgement :)

   - extcon driver updates
   - nvmem driver updates

   - lp driver updates. Yes really, it's _finally_ moved to the proper
parallal port driver model, something I never thought I would see

bf4fb28c6e platform/x86: add support for Huawei WMI hotkeys
This driver adds support for missing hotkeys on some Huawei laptops.
Laptops such as the Matebook X have non functioning hotkeys. Whereas
newer laptops such as the Matebook X Pro come with working hotkeys out
of the box.

Old laptops, such as the Matebook X, report hotkey events through ACPI
device "\WMI0". However, new laptops, such as the Matebook X Pro, does
not have this WMI device.

All the hotkeys on the Matebook X Pro work fine without this patch
except (micmute, wlan, and huawei key). These keys and the brightness
keys report events to "\AMW0" ACPI device. One problem is that
brightness keys on the Matebook X Pro work without this patch. This
results in reporting two brightness key press events one is captured
by ACPI and another by this driver.

A solution would be to check if such event came from the "\AMW0" WMI
driver then skip reporting event. Another solution would be to leave
this to user-space to handle. Which can be achieved by using "hwdb"
tables and remap those keys to "unknown". This solution seems more
natural to me because it leaves the decision to user-space.

6a31061833 platform/x86: Fix config space access for intel_atomisp2_pm
We lose even config space access when we power gate the ISP
via the PUNIT. That makes lspci & co. produce gibberish.

To fix that let's try to implement actual runtime pm hooks
and inform the pci core that the device always goes to
D3cold. That will cause the pci core to resume the device
before attempting config space access.

This introduces another annoyance though. We get the
following error every time we try to resume the device:
intel_atomisp2_pm 0000:00:03.0: Refused to change power state, currently in D3

The reason being that the pci core tries to put the device
back into D0 via the standard PCI PM mechanism before
calling the driver resume hook. To fix this properly
we'd need to infiltrate the platform pm hooks (could
turn ugly real fast), or use pm domains (which don't
seem to exist on x86), or some extra early resume
hook for the driver (which doesn't exist either).
So maybe we just choose to live with the error?

4e1d092445 platform/x86: thinkpad_acpi: Add audio mute LED classdev support
In the upcoming change, the binding of audio mute / mic-mute LED
controls will be switched with LED trigger. This patch is the last
piece of preparation: adding the audio mute / mic-mute LED class
devices to thinkpad_acpi driver.

Two devices, platform::mute and platform::micmute, will be added for
controlling the mute LED and mic-mute LED, respectively. The new
prefix "platform" is the suggestion by upstream for indicating the
generic laptop attribute.

Also this selects CONFIG_LEDS_TRIGGERS and CONFIG_LEDS_TRIGGERS_AUDIO
unconditionally. Strictly speaking, these aren't 100% mandatory, but
leaving these manual selections would lead to a functional regression
easily once after converting from the dynamic symbol binding to the
LEDs trigger in a later patch.

d00fa46e0a platform/x86: dell-laptop: Add micmute LED trigger support
This patch adds the LED trigger support for audio mic-mute control.
As of this patch, the LED device isn't tied with the audio driver, and
can be changed via user-space at "platform::micmute" sysfs entry.
(This new prefix "platform" is the agreement among people for
indicating the generic laptop / system-wide attribute.)

The binding with HD-audio is still done via the existing exported
dell_micmute_led_set(). It will be replaced with the LED trigger
binding in later patches.

Also this selects CONFIG_LEDS_TRIGGERS and CONFIG_LEDS_TRIGGERS_AUDIO
unconditionally. Strictly speaking, these aren't 100% mandatory, but
leaving these manual selections would lead to a functional regression

b3f2f3799a platform/x86: asus-nb-wmi: Map 0x35 to KEY_SCREENLOCK
When the OS registers to handle events from the display off hotkey the
EC will send a notification with 0x35 for every key press, independent
of the backlight state.

The behavior of this key on Windows, with the ATKACPI driver from Asus
installed, is turning off the backlight of all connected displays with a
fading effect, and any cursor input or key press turning the backlight
back on. The key press or cursor input that wakes up the display is also
passed through to the application under the cursor or under focus.

The key that matches this behavior the closest is KEY_SCREENLOCK.

78f3ac76d9 platform/x86: asus-wmi: Tell the EC the OS will handle the display off hotkey
In the past, Asus firmwares would change the panel backlight directly
through the EC when the display off hotkey (Fn+F7) was pressed, and
only notify the OS of such change, with 0x33 when the LCD was ON and
0x34 when the LCD was OFF. These are currently mapped to
KEY_DISPLAYTOGGLE and KEY_DISPLAY_OFF, respectively.

Most recently the EC on Asus most machines lost ability to toggle the
LCD backlight directly, but unless the OS informs the firmware it is
going to handle the display toggle hotkey events, the firmware still
tries change the brightness through the EC, to no effect. The end result
is a long list (at Endless we counted 11) of Asus laptop models where
the display toggle hotkey does not perform any action. Our firmware
engineers contacts at Asus were surprised that there were still machines
out there with the old behavior.

Calling WMNB(ASUS_WMI_DEVID_BACKLIGHT==0x00050011, 2) on the _WDG device
tells the firmware that it should let the OS handle the display toggle
event, in which case it will simply notify the OS of a key press with
0x35, as shown by the DSDT excerpts bellow.

ffb6ce7086 platform/x86: asus-wmi: export function for evaluating WMI methods
Export asus_wmi_evaluate_method() and related headers for use by other
drivers.

hid-asus is going to use this to avoid advertising that it has a keyboard
backlight when the keyboard backlight is controlled via WMI.

29f6eb533c platform/x86: asus-wmi: Only notify kbd LED hw_change by fn-key pressed
Since commit dbb3d78f61 ("platform/x86: asus-wmi: Call led hw_changed
API on kbd brightness change"), asus-wmi directly changes the keyboard
LED brightness when the keyboard brightness keys are pressed,
raising the appropriate notification.

However, this notification was unintentionally also being raised during
boot and resume from suspend. This was resulting in userspace showing
the keyboard LED OSD on resume for no good reason.

Move the keyboard LED brightness changed notification
from kbd_led_update to the new kbd_led_set_by_kbd function which is only
called from the keyboard brightness function keys codepath.

49ad712afa platform/x86: Add Intel AtomISP2 dummy / power-management driver
The Image Signal Processor found on Cherry Trail devices is brought up in
D0 state on devices which have camera sensors attached to it. The ISP will
not enter D3 state again without some massaging of its registers beforehand
and the ISP not being in D3 state blocks the SoC from entering S0ix modes.

There was a driver for the ISP in drivers/staging but that got removed
again because it never worked. It does not seem likely that a real
driver for the ISP will be added to the mainline kernel anytime soon.

This commit adds a dummy driver which contains the necessary magic from
the staging driver to powerdown the ISP, so that Cherry Trail devices where
the ISP is used will properly use S0ix modes when suspended.

Together with other recent S0ix related fixes this allows S0ix modes to
be entered on e.g. a Chuwi Hi8 Pro and a HP x2 210.

8d98b1ef36 platform/x86: intel_telemetry: report debugfs failure
On some Goldmont based systems such as ASRock J3455M the BIOS may not
enable the IPC1 device that provides access to the PMC and PUNIT. In
such scenarios, the IOSS and PSS resources from the platform device can
not be obtained and result in a invalid telemetry_plt_config which is an
internal data structure that holds platform config and is maintained by
the telemetry platform driver.

This is also applicable to the platforms where the BIOS supports IPC1
device under debug configurations but IPC1 is disabled by user or the
policy.

This change allows user to know the reason for not seeing entries under
/sys/kernel/debug/telemetry/* when there is no apparent failure at boot.

9fe44fc98c platform/x86: asus-wmi: Simplify the keyboard brightness updating process
The original asus-wmi queues a work which calls the ACPI/WMI methods to
update the keyboard LED brightness. Similar drivers - acer-wmi,
dell-wmi-led just call the ACPI/WMI methods directly without workqueues.

This patch simplifies the keyboard brightness updating process which
calls the kbd_led_update function directly without workqueue in
asus-wmi.

589edb56b4 ACPI / scan: Create platform device for INT33FE ACPI nodes
Bay and Cherry Trail devices with a Dollar Cove or Whiskey Cove PMIC
have an ACPI node with a HID of INT33FE which is a "virtual" battery
device implementing a standard ACPI battery interface which depends upon
a proprietary, undocument OpRegion called BMOP. Since we do have docs
for the actual fuel-gauges used on these boards we instead use native
fuel-gauge drivers talking directly to the fuel-gauge ICs on boards which
rely on this INT33FE device for their battery monitoring.

On boards with a Dollar Cove PMIC the INT33FE device's resources (_CRS)
describe a non-existing I2C client at address 0x6b with a bus-speed of
100KHz. This is a problem on some boards since there are actual devices
on that same bus which need a speed of 400KHz to function properly.

This commit adds the INT33FE HID to the list of devices with I2C resources
which should be enumerated as a platform-device rather then letting the
i2c-core instantiate an i2c-client matching the first I2C resource,
so that its bus-speed will not influence the max speed of the I2C bus.
This fixes e.g. the touchscreen not working on the Teclast X98 II Plus.

The INT33FE device on boards with a Whiskey Cove PMIC is somewhat special.
Its first I2C resource is for a secondary I2C address of the PMIC itself,
which is already described in an ACPI device with an INT34D3 HID.

But it has 3 more I2C resources describing 3 other chips for which we do
need to instantiate I2C clients and which need device-connections added
between them for things to work properly. This special case is handled by
the drivers/platform/x86/intel_cht_int33fe.c code.

Before this commit that code was binding to the i2c-client instantiated
for the secondary I2C address of the PMIC, since we now instantiate a
platform device for the INT33FE device instead, this commit also changes
the intel_cht_int33fe driver from an i2c driver to a platform driver.

This also brings the intel_cht_int33fe drv inline with how we instantiate
multiple i2c clients from a single ACPI device in other cases, as done
by the drivers/platform/x86/i2c-multi-instantiate.c code.

7eccb5edba platform/x86: intel-wmi-thunderbolt: Add dynamic debugging
Some users have been reporting issues with thunderbolt being turned off
before fully initialized. This is suspected to be caused by userspace
turning off the Thunderbolt controller using intel-wmi-thunderbolt
prematurely.

Userspace has already made some mitigations for this situation:
https://github.com/hughsie/fwupd/commit/ef6f1d76983c9b66
https://github.com/hughsie/fwupd/commit/c07ce5b4889a5384

To allow easier debugging of this situation add output that can be turned
on with dynamic debugging to better root cause this problem.
