ARM: dts: omap5: Add missing cooling device properties for CPUs
The cooling device properties, like "#cooling-cells" and "dynamic-power-coefficient", should either be present for all the CPUs of a cluster or none. If these are present only for a subset of CPUs of a cluster then things will start falling apart as soon as the CPUs are brought online in a different order. For example, this will happen because the operating system looks for such properties in the CPU node it is trying to bring up, so that it can register a cooling device. Add such missing properties. Fix other missing properties (clocks, supply, clock latency) as well to make it all work. Signed-off-by: Viresh Kumar <viresh.kumar@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com> |

ARM: dts: am3517-evm: Remove unnessary PMIC parameters
The AM3517-EVM uses a TPS65023 PMIC. arm: port KCOV to arm
KCOV is code coverage collection facility used, in particular, by syzkaller system call fuzzer. There is some interest in using syzkaller on arm devices. So port KCOV to arm. On implementation level this merely declares that KCOV is supported and disables instrumentation of 3 special cases. Reasons for disabling are commented in code. Tested with qemu-system-arm/vexpress-a15. Kbuild: rename CC_STACKPROTECTOR[_STRONG] config variables
The changes to automatically test for working stack protector compiler support in the Kconfig files removed the special STACKPROTECTOR_AUTO option that picked the strongest stack protector that the compiler supported. That was all a nice cleanup - it makes no sense to have the AUTO case now that the Kconfig phase can just determine the compiler support directly. HOWEVER. It also meant that doing "make oldconfig" would now _disable_ the strong stackprotector if you had AUTO enabled, because in a legacy config file, the sane stack protector configuration would look like CONFIG_HAVE_CC_STACKPROTECTOR=y # CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR_NONE is not set # CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR_REGULAR is not set # CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR_STRONG is not set CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR_AUTO=y and when you ran this through "make oldconfig" with the Kbuild changes, it would ask you about the regular CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR (that had been renamed from CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR_REGULAR to just CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR), but it would think that the STRONG version used to be disabled (because it was really enabled by AUTO), and would disable it in the new config, resulting in: CONFIG_HAVE_CC_STACKPROTECTOR=y CONFIG_CC_HAS_STACKPROTECTOR_NONE=y CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR=y # CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR_STRONG is not set CONFIG_CC_HAS_SANE_STACKPROTECTOR=y That's dangerously subtle - people could suddenly find themselves with the weaker stack protector setup without even realizing. The solution here is to just rename not just the old RECULAR stack protector option, but also the strong one. This does that by just removing the CC_ prefix entirely for the user choices, because it really is not about the compiler support (the compiler support now instead automatially impacts _visibility_ of the options to users). This results in "make oldconfig" actually asking the user for their choice, so that we don't have any silent subtle security model changes. The end result would generally look like this: CONFIG_HAVE_CC_STACKPROTECTOR=y CONFIG_CC_HAS_STACKPROTECTOR_NONE=y CONFIG_STACKPROTECTOR=y CONFIG_STACKPROTECTOR_STRONG=y CONFIG_CC_HAS_SANE_STACKPROTECTOR=y where the "CC_" versions really are about internal compiler infrastructure, not the user selections. treewide: kzalloc() -> kcalloc()
The kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kcalloc(). This patch replaces cases of: kzalloc(a * b, gfp) with: kcalloc(a * b, gfp) as well as handling cases of: kzalloc(a * b * c, gfp) with: kzalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp) as it's slightly less ugly than: kzalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp) This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like: kzalloc(4 * 1024, gfp) though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion. ARM: SoC: late updates
This is a branch with a few merge requests that either came in late, or took a while longer for us to review and merge than usual and thus cut it a bit close to the merge window. We stage them in a separate branch and if things look good, we still send them up -- and that's the case here. This is mostly DT additions for Renesas platforms, adding IP block descriptions for existing and new SoCs. There are also some driver updates for Qualcomm platforms for SMEM/QMI and GENI, which is their generalized serial protocol interface. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQJDBAABCAAtFiEElf+HevZ4QCAJmMQ+jBrnPN6EHHcFAlsfCVIPHG9sb2ZAbGl4 b20ubmV0AAoJEIwa5zzehBx3KOcP/3O2+igstXt5rhemITdyi8rHkrIHPgetf25e ISBQzYrQOHV21SqT4le/Gk2CCQ6iX5Nv2DYoIrCzFWi/4DoDxXvryczQLla02Nru i8fcuxae7aFGW7/97G1+cATGPwuBLPiKXs6Wj01sKHeLBja5Det7eoXuHag7Y/Lo 4ls9wNZybMdlCcGm6+ULdj+XUdRyYUhOQQYvnPm2Q8hEkM+AiwLOBJTFwef9P5ad mX37kPDfwCxYwQXgZB1RkK/oJu0G2mTZXmGH5o+s+9yAyAupCQhmHGOrt3mlOf7j tLRlSgarJlO/QGIpJmDuCcxt3msD3OMd2dPbdgwojdpvycOU8EVWYLmCRpyIWQXv DCv9A9Gp4KlJnwxheVegBtilRA1aKsGuarWq6yeyOFt8N23Bgg/IjYKI9JF5+hPD M4q1oVAbUlfWb79rEc+TB0d7euREBkNn4TzzKMSOyP3eGUrXR0WUlq2A2VLxgIJo cx/ufY7CwvRgV+VxfhRbca+FmwDnu7uqzwLe73Ys2hnsuv8hXEtc+vSybqKqxVeU nHpWAqwaWhijlJiGq722vPo8avrLwjsxRwimogvijtesz9ZlTqrGtjkg61+eN2h8 eeuyRAsMUfVRiKuL3W+q4s0rzIauormnKsvRScKVyNFuiJfrfYb1odLoDGaOV/9G dQ7hA7TW =RUL0 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'armsoc-late' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc Pull ARM SoC late updates from Olof Johansson: "This is a branch with a few merge requests that either came in late, or took a while longer for us to review and merge than usual and thus cut it a bit close to the merge window. ARM: Device-tree updates
As always, a large number of DT updates. Too many to enumerate them all, but at a glance: New SoCs introduced in this release: - Amlogic: + Meson 8M2 SoC, a.k.a. S812. A quad Cortex-A9 SoC used in some set top boxes and other products. - Mediatek: + MT7623A, which is a flavor of the MT7623 family with other on-chip ethernet options. - Qualcomm: + SDM845, a.k.a Snapdragon 845, an 4+4-core Kryo 385/845 (Cortex-A75/A55 derivative) SoC that's one of the current high-end mobile SoCs. It's great to see mainline support for it. So far, you can't do much with it, since a lot of peripherals are not yet in the DTs but driver support for USB, GPU and other pieces are starting to trickle in. This might end up being a well-supported SoC upstream if the momentum keeps up. - Renesas: + R8A77990, a.k.a R-Car E3, a new automotive entertainment-targeted SoC. Currently only one Cortex-A53 CPU is enabled, we are eagerly awaiting more. So far, basic drivers such as serial, gpios, PMU and ethernet are enabled. + R8A77470, a.k.a. RZ/G1C, a new dual Cortex-A7 SoC with PowerVR GPU. Same here, basic set of drivers such as serial, gpios and ethernet enabled, and SMP support is also forthcoming. - STMicroelectronics: + STM32F469, very similar tih STM32F429 but with display support Enhancements to SoCs/platforms (DTS contents, some driver portions might not be in yet): - Allwinner sun8i (h3/a33/a83t) SMP, DVFS tweaks, misc - Amlogic Meson: I2C, UFS, TDM, GPIO external interrupts, MMC resets - Hisilicon hi3660: Thermal cooling, CPU frequency scaling, mailbox interfaces - Marvell Berlin2CD: SMP support, thermal sensors - Mediatek MT7623: Highspeed DMA, audio support - Qualcomm IPQ8074 PCIe support, MSM8996 UFS support - Renesas: Watchdog and PMU support across many platforms - Rockchip RK3399: USB3 OTG support - Samsung Exynos: Audio-over-HDMI on Odroid X/X2/U3 - STMicro STM32: Lots of peripherals added to STM32MP175C - Uniphier: Ethernet support New boards: - Allwinner A20: Olimex A20-SOM-EVB-eMMC variant - Allwinner H2+: Libre Computer ALL-H3-CC (h2+ version) - Allwinner A33: Nintendo NES/SuperNES Classic Edition - Aspeed: S2600WF, Inventec Lanyang BMC, Portwell Neptune - Berlin2CD: Valve Steam Link - Broadcom BCM5301X: Luxul XAP-1610 and XWR-3150 V1 - Broadcom: Raspberry Pi 3 B+ - Mediatek MT7623N and MT7623A: reference boards - Meson 8M2: Tronsmart MXIII Plus - NXP i.MX: Engicam i.CoreM6, DHCOM iMX6 SOM, BTicino i.MX6DL Mamoj - Qualcomm MSM8974: Sony Xperia Z1 Compact support - Qualcomm SDM845: MTP development board - Renesas: Ebisu R8A77990 board - Renesas RZ/G1C: iwg23s: iWave G235-SDB - TI am335x: Pocketbeagle support -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQJDBAABCAAtFiEElf+HevZ4QCAJmMQ+jBrnPN6EHHcFAlsfBtUPHG9sb2ZAbGl4 b20ubmV0AAoJEIwa5zzehBx3wfYQAI1hlPhRx7H1zbc59zdlW6daY7y1+dXuqoCs K5Hxsurlsbnx9fjeGcBp/razL5YtdZmBYII8IBhKzhLKp/A0gqmX7W9pTNQj9/Sp SOIl8dci/yr0HUpgwc4IdVhJBdpplv48GK3q8opSocI/J9dnD873NHLlvTpCB+Jy GCD9tB56JnOfTO+n0Yg+tyuig1jIQCc52Iwnmxv2vYPbsHUaEmqz1Z+wBe0BaDk+ eVsohNQI/2xxRzv8PE13H/ojcZ532rF45aw6ypRwCvg1MzCYXSdKLJlIWx8Ci581 YmRPlCOWai+AxSATgJhIR9n9dxn6hqxEgVyu7AOxPVa0O4DKB3oy8PPo5wlOCKcU J1n5zJwnULWw4eVa1ag/cEMbz95QMC1F9MmyiLUfz3esHwyD/Gl3ks9v1gwn9XYp xsI+oGnMy/Uz4oZ1/XM5CO5UUDXyixVD3pYEF8wLaYX2JY8zETI5qfvNL0bwZX3P lLFCI7Xdwsk3+HCp7aHs4KkWHLVGq65SxrXKTIpU+vEq+0RYiV/cWP9Swa/RNrMH gB00oZ2TBRuIr/KxsCKyCkKApocW4J4WtZ2sMY7QDXzW68lq8oIbefY+6Abgk4/7 6J7D5n0gmTB38wrzZCY5UF0eQrLjPwnxuLywEll5oLFbNTr/7Aruk2kFYEMGjM9E QmXGoHXU =jLvk -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'armsoc-dt' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc Pull ARM SoC device tree updates from Olof Johansson: "As always, a large number of DT updates. ARM: SoC platform updates
Here are the main updates for SoC support (besides DT additions) for ARM 32- and 64-bit platforms. The branch also contains defconfig updates to turn on drivers and options as needed on the various platforms. The largest parts of the delta are from cleanups moving platform data and board file setup of TI platforms to ti-sysc bus drivers. There are also some sweeping changes of eeprom and nand setup on Davinci, i.MX and other platforms. Samsung is removing support for Exynos5440, which was an oddball SoC that hasn't been seen much use in designs. Renesas is adding support for new SoCs (R-Car E3, RZ/G1C and RZ/N1D). Linus Walleij is also removing support for ux500 (Sony Ericsson) U8540/9540 SoCs that never made it to significant mass production and products. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQJDBAABCAAtFiEElf+HevZ4QCAJmMQ+jBrnPN6EHHcFAlsfCGIPHG9sb2ZAbGl4 b20ubmV0AAoJEIwa5zzehBx3Ks8P/3j87Za+6OTCzo+lW2byUy1CI4muGwxNSIxX 65A1Wt2qvRDxjCX4MI5Cx8P1YdYJv+5ZF2p4vdlgQXoz3/XDbG+lxJ+/lyWl/+MK 9kGsQWwEVicbGkaJCYR4ZKvfAwZ9jf7+cndY0Vgii44xQLsQZHEIfIO+mdlK43GZ xqaSckLQQzsDqjMUIckiyVy97RsDk1eLK+H2I+l7qs9v0z5UnhoD2CTxX5LzT8eH NlFmfUPN7Znshmt0aMznZyBRr2oM5Dsg49SfG0WhbOzyiZjSpw8MQ0N+RzyROhhB h5PjyuZN9fx2dO8Jjkqt3B8KmGFNDarGOmrasIJeCJDFRa9NStqFn0y4qJXS2wU7 4La3GoBYRV8x0gq339pQ+70qKuD06e62GL7kV656yi+93CitWxy6IjrIACjSX6zH PD1hQpewfXAcHAHdBqNevRcz/sjG+36GJSCgI4umSP48NMlCuZafFAT4U/PVlt4E 6VRQDeoi5ZFYIuPL1+bZvHax4fFxJGnaf02uQ/OPYP1o48AueSSvdo6bUPFbhwOD u0/uo3r+HxtQsw9I3tP3kj3/775BJclkO6zbG/dGZ8obuzuDwhuFtr3rzCrP/IzN n3rcBuFNZE6SQeKU+Tvmnh8ZLhJc5L8EYvqmihZj+BSfprBc8POFR2la4MRnHSn+ tPEC/n9E =S5wc -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'armsoc-soc' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc Pull ARM SoC platform updates from Olof Johansson: "Here are the main updates for SoC support (besides DT additions) for ARM 32- and 64-bit platforms. It comes with the basic non disputed core implementation along with support for arm, powerpc and x86 and a full set of selftests It was exposed to linux-next earlier this week, so it does not fully comply with the merge window requirements, but there is really no point to drag it out for yet another cycle" * 'core-rseq-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/tip: rseq/selftests: Provide Makefile, scripts, gitignore rseq/selftests: Provide parametrized tests rseq/selftests: Provide basic percpu ops test rseq/selftests: Provide basic test rseq/selftests: Provide rseq library selftests/lib.mk: Introduce OVERRIDE_TARGETS powerpc: Wire up restartable sequences system call powerpc: Add syscall detection for restartable sequences powerpc: Add support for restartable sequences x86: Wire up restartable sequence system call x86: Add support for restartable sequences arm: Wire up restartable sequences system call arm: Add syscall detection for restartable sequences arm: Add restartable sequences support rseq: Introduce restartable sequences system call uapi/headers: Provide types_32_64.h |

This time we have a good set of changes to the core framework that do some
general cleanups, but nothing too major. The majority of the diff goes to two SoCs, Actions Semi and Qualcomm. A brand new driver is introduced for Actions Semi so it takes up some lines to add all the different types, and the Qualcomm diff is there because we add support for two SoCs and it's quite a bit of data. Otherwise the big driver updates are on TI Davinci and Amlogic platforms. And then the long tail of driver updates for various fixes and stuff follows after that. regulator: Updates for v4.18
Quite a lot of core work this time around, though not 100% successful. We gained support for runtime mode changes thanks to David Collins and improved support for write only regulators (ones where we can't read back the configuration) from Douglas Anderson. There's been quite a bit of work from Linus Walleij on converting from specfying GPIOs by numbers to descriptors. Sadly the testing turned out to be less good than we had hoped and so a lot of this had to be reverted. We also have the start of updates to use coupled regulators from Maciej Purski, unfortunately there are further problems there so the last couple of patches have been reverted. We also have new drivers for BD71837 and SY8106A devices, SAW regulators on Qualcomm SPMI and dropped support for some preproduction chips that never made it to market from the AB8500 driver. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQFHBAABCgAxFiEEreZoqmdXGLWf4p/qJNaLcl1Uh9AFAlsarcETHGJyb29uaWVA a2VybmVsLm9yZwAKCRAk1otyXVSH0B4HB/9MFV/MK7Hw2hsVCX3qWTiH4tJ/X0MG tGz1PfmbH0CJ9ly5g+rvCoT+1/s7BydKzi1cd1RHnimBv2U1XagwSny3LNEcJs2Q pmhpGViakkQI/Y2h+u/j0Jk1nE+jTiKk+1ozUB7YnPekrGyQlf7TMhvKOLTvLKyX 56jdNxcW0MgSnXV2N6y4NpWhgvrQwvKjacTxV5iX7WP2rnK2WNFeG7Q859buhtI0 znRi+tO5hZsw5T44ickdPfotZn+i5o7MYLCkkaA2h1EwtpbYwVINfUjp3KtuyFhH 3B9GmCsjjN2Z2eInnkpzWfVXK2S1Vlp6+ka2FSs+U/4rVdd3Bw2KkblS =Ftua -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'regulator-v4.18' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/broonie/regulator Pull regulator updates from Mark Brown: "Quite a lot of core work this time around, though not 100% successful. mm: introduce ARCH_HAS_PTE_SPECIAL
Currently the PTE special supports is turned on in per architecture header files. Most of the time, it is defined in arch/*/include/asm/pgtable.h depending or not on some other per architecture static definition. This patch introduce a new configuration variable to manage this directly in the Kconfig files. It would later replace __HAVE_ARCH_PTE_SPECIAL. Here notes for some architecture where the definition of __HAVE_ARCH_PTE_SPECIAL is not obvious: arm __HAVE_ARCH_PTE_SPECIAL which is currently defined in arch/arm/include/asm/pgtable-3level.h which is included by arch/arm/include/asm/pgtable.h when CONFIG_ARM_LPAE is set. So select ARCH_HAS_PTE_SPECIAL if ARM_LPAE. powerpc __HAVE_ARCH_PTE_SPECIAL is defined in 2 files: - arch/powerpc/include/asm/book3s/64/pgtable.h - arch/powerpc/include/asm/pte-common.h The first one is included if (PPC_BOOK3S & PPC64) while the second is included in all the other cases. So select ARCH_HAS_PTE_SPECIAL all the time. sparc: __HAVE_ARCH_PTE_SPECIAL is defined if defined(__sparc__) && defined(__arch64__) which are defined through the compiler in sparc/Makefile if !SPARC32 which I assume to be if SPARC64. So select ARCH_HAS_PTE_SPECIAL if SPARC64 There is no functional change introduced by this patch. arm: Wire up restartable sequences system call
Wire up the rseq system call on 32-bit ARM. This provides an ABI improving the speed of a user-space getcpu operation on ARM by skipping the getcpu system call on the fast path, as well as improving the speed of user-space operations on per-cpu data compared to using load-linked/store-conditional. arm: Add syscall detection for restartable sequences
Syscalls are not allowed inside restartable sequences, so add a call to rseq_syscall() at the very beginning of system call exiting path for CONFIG_DEBUG_RSEQ=y kernel. Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/bpf/bpf-next
Daniel Borkmann says: ==================== pull-request: bpf-next 2018-06-05 The following pull-request contains BPF updates for your *net-next* tree. The main changes are: 1) Add a new BPF hook for sendmsg similar to existing hooks for bind and connect: "This allows to override source IP (including the case when it's set via cmsg(3)) and destination IP:port for unconnected UDP (slow path). TCP and connected UDP (fast path) are not affected. This makes UDP support complete, that is, connected UDP is handled by connect hooks, unconnected by sendmsg ones.", from Andrey. 2) Rework of the AF_XDP API to allow extending it in future for type writer model if necessary. In this mode a memory window is passed to hardware and multiple frames might be filled into that window instead of just one that is the case in the current fixed frame-size model. With the new changes made this can be supported without having to add a new descriptor format. Also, core bits for the zero-copy support for AF_XDP have been merged as agreed upon, where i40e bits will be routed via Jeff later on. Various improvements to documentation and sample programs included as well, all from Björn and Magnus. 3) Given BPF's flexibility, a new program type has been added to implement infrared decoders. Quote: "The kernel IR decoders support the most widely used IR protocols, but there are many protocols which are not supported. [...] There is a 'long tail' of unsupported IR protocols, for which lircd is need to decode the IR. IR encoding is done in such a way that some simple circuit can decode it; therefore, BPF is ideal. [...] user-space can define a decoder in BPF, attach it to the rc device through the lirc chardev.", from Sean. 4) Several improvements and fixes to BPF core, among others, dumping map and prog IDs into fdinfo which is a straight forward way to correlate BPF objects used by applications, removing an indirect call and therefore retpoline in all map lookup/update/delete calls by invoking the callback directly for 64 bit archs, adding a new bpf_skb_cgroup_id() BPF helper for tc BPF programs to have an efficient way of looking up cgroup v2 id for policy or other use cases. Fixes to make sure we zero tunnel/xfrm state that hasn't been filled, to allow context access wrt pt_regs in 32 bit archs for tracing, and last but not least various test cases for fixes that landed in bpf earlier, from Daniel. 5) Get rid of the ndo_xdp_flush API and extend the ndo_xdp_xmit with a XDP_XMIT_FLUSH flag instead which allows to avoid one indirect call as flushing is now merged directly into ndo_xdp_xmit(), from Jesper. 6) Add a new bpf_get_current_cgroup_id() helper that can be used in tracing to retrieve the cgroup id from the current process in order to allow for e.g. aggregation of container-level events, from Yonghong. 7) Two follow-up fixes for BTF to reject invalid input values and related to that also two test cases for BPF kselftests, from Martin. 8) Various API improvements to the bpf_fib_lookup() helper, that is, dropping MPLS bits which are not fully hashed out yet, rejecting invalid helper flags, returning error for unsupported address families as well as renaming flowlabel to flowinfo, from David. 9) Various fixes and improvements to sockmap BPF kselftests in particular in proper error detection and data verification, from Prashant. 10) Two arm32 BPF JIT improvements. One is to fix imm range check with regards to whether immediate fits into 24 bits, and a naming cleanup to get functions related to rsh handling consistent to those handling lsh, from Wang. 11) Two compile warning fixes in BPF, one for BTF and a false positive to silent gcc in stack_map_get_build_id_offset(), from Arnd. 12) Add missing seg6.h header into tools include infrastructure in order to fix compilation of BPF kselftests, from Mathieu. 13) Several formatting cleanups in the BPF UAPI helper description that also fix an error during rst2man compilation, from Quentin. 14) Hide an unused variable in sk_msg_convert_ctx_access() when IPv6 is not built into the kernel, from Yue. 15) Remove a useless double assignment in dev_map_enqueue(), from Colin. ==================== Signed-off-by: David S. bpf, arm32: fix inconsistent naming about emit_a32_lsr_{r64,i64}
The names for BPF_ALU64 | BPF_ARSH are emit_a32_arsh_*,
the names for BPF_ALU64 | BPF_LSH are emit_a32_lsh_*, but
the names for BPF_ALU64 | BPF_RSH are emit_a32_lsr_*.
For consistence reason, let's rename emit_a32_lsr_* to
emit_a32_rsh_*.
This patch also corrects a wrong comment.

Merge branch 'irq-core-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/tip
Pull irq updates from Thomas Gleixner: - Consolidation of softirq pending: The softirq mask and its accessors/mutators have many implementations scattered around many architectures. Most do the same things consisting in a field in a per-cpu struct (often irq_cpustat_t) accessed through per-cpu ops. We can provide instead a generic efficient version that most of them can use. In fact s390 is the only exception because the field is stored in lowcore. - Support for level!?! triggered MSI (ARM) Over the past couple of years, we've seen some SoCs coming up with ways of signalling level interrupts using a new flavor of MSIs, where the MSI controller uses two distinct messages: one that raises a virtual line, and one that lowers it. The target MSI controller is in charge of maintaining the state of the line. This allows for a much simplified HW signal routing (no need to have hundreds of discrete lines to signal level interrupts if you already have a memory bus), but results in a departure from the current idea the kernel has of MSIs. - Support for Meson-AXG GPIO irqchip - Large stm32 irqchip rework (suspend/resume, hierarchical domains) - More SPDX conversions * 'irq-core-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/tip: (36 commits) ARM: dts: stm32: Add exti support to stm32mp157 pinctrl ARM: dts: stm32: Add exti support for stm32mp157c pinctrl/stm32: Add irq_eoi for stm32gpio irqchip irqchip/stm32: Add suspend/resume support for hierarchy domain irqchip/stm32: Add stm32mp1 support with hierarchy domain irqchip/stm32: Prepare common functions irqchip/stm32: Add host and driver data structures irqchip/stm32: Add suspend support irqchip/stm32: Add falling pending register support irqchip/stm32: Checkpatch fix irqchip/stm32: Optimizes and cleans up stm32-exti irq_domain irqchip/meson-gpio: Add support for Meson-AXG SoCs dt-bindings: interrupt-controller: New binding for Meson-AXG SoC dt-bindings: interrupt-controller: Fix the double quotes softirq/s390: Move default mutators of overwritten softirq mask to s390 softirq/x86: Switch to generic local_softirq_pending() implementation softirq/sparc: Switch to generic local_softirq_pending() implementation softirq/powerpc: Switch to generic local_softirq_pending() implementation softirq/parisc: Switch to generic local_softirq_pending() implementation softirq/ia64: Switch to generic local_softirq_pending() implementation ... |

Merge branch 'siginfo-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/ebiederm/user-namespace
Pull siginfo updates from Eric Biederman: "This set of changes close the known issues with setting si_code to an invalid value, and with not fully initializing struct siginfo. There remains work to do on nds32, arc, unicore32, powerpc, arm, arm64, ia64 and x86 to get the code that generates siginfo into a simpler and more maintainable state. Most of that work involves refactoring the signal handling code and thus careful code review. Also not included is the work to shrink the in kernel version of struct siginfo. That depends on getting the number of places that directly manipulate struct siginfo under control, as it requires the introduction of struct kernel_siginfo for the in kernel things. Overall this set of changes looks like it is making good progress, and with a little luck I will be wrapping up the siginfo work next development cycle" * 'siginfo-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/ebiederm/user-namespace: (46 commits) signal/sh: Stop gcc warning about an impossible case in do_divide_error signal/mips: Report FPE_FLTUNK for undiagnosed floating point exceptions signal/um: More carefully relay signals in relay_signal. signal: Extend siginfo_layout with SIL_FAULT_{MCEERR|BNDERR|PKUERR} signal: Remove unncessary #ifdef SEGV_PKUERR in 32bit compat code signal/signalfd: Add support for SIGSYS signal/signalfd: Remove __put_user from signalfd_copyinfo signal/xtensa: Use force_sig_fault where appropriate signal/xtensa: Consistenly use SIGBUS in do_unaligned_user signal/um: Use force_sig_fault where appropriate signal/sparc: Use force_sig_fault where appropriate signal/sparc: Use send_sig_fault where appropriate signal/sh: Use force_sig_fault where appropriate signal/s390: Use force_sig_fault where appropriate signal/riscv: Replace do_trap_siginfo with force_sig_fault signal/riscv: Use force_sig_fault where appropriate signal/parisc: Use force_sig_fault where appropriate signal/parisc: Use force_sig_mceerr where appropriate signal/openrisc: Use force_sig_fault where appropriate signal/nios2: Use force_sig_fault where appropriate ... |

Renesas ARM Based SoC DT Updates for v4.18
* R-Mobile A1 (r8a7740) SoC - Describe CEU, IRQC, SYS-DMAC and USB devices - Cleanup for consistency with other Renesas SoCs and enhanced maintainability + Stop grouping clocks under a "clocks" subnode + Add soc node + Sort subnodes of root and soc nodes * RZ/A1H (r7s72100) SoC - Describe CEU device * R-Car Gen2, RZ/G1 and RZ/A1H SoCs - Add PMU device nodes Geert Uytterhoeven says: "This patch series enables support for the ARM Performance Monitor Units in Cortex-A7, Cortex-A9, and Cortex-A15 CPU cores on Renesas RZ/A1, R-Car Gen2, and RZ/G1 SoCs. This allows for better performance analysis using the "perf" tool." * RZ/A1H (r7s72100) SoC - Correct interrupt types Geert Uytterhoeven says "RZ/A1H peripherals use a mix of level and edge interrupts. This patch series corrects the interrupt types for watchdog and RTC from edge to level, to match the datasheet." * R-Mobile APE6 (r8a73a4) APE4EVM board and SH-Mobile AG5 (sh73a0) SoC - Use generic disable-wp instead of now deprecated toshiba,mmc-wrprotect-disable property * EMMA Mobile EV2 (emev2) and SH-Mobile AG5 (sh73a0) SoCs - Add missing interrupt-affinity to PMU Geert Uytterhoeven says "The Cortex-A9 PMU nodes on SH-Mobile AG5 and Emma Mobile EV2 reference two interrupts, but lack interrupt-affinity properties, leading to: hw perfevents: no interrupt-affinity property for /pmu, guessing. This series adds the missing properties to fix this." * R-Car H2 (r8a7790) and R-Mobile APE6 (r8a73a4) SoCs - Correct mask for GIC PPI interrupts Geert Uytterhoeven says "R-Car H2 and R-Mobile APE6 contain four Cortex-A15 and four Cortex-A7 cores, hence the second interrupt specifier cell for Private Peripheral Interrupts should use "GIC_CPU_MASK_SIMPLE(8)", to make sure interrupts can be delivered to all 8 processor cores. This brings the predecessors of R-Car Gen3 in line with what we're doing on other big.LITTLE SoCs, like R-Car H3 and M3-W." * Alt board for R-Car E2 (r8a7794) SoC * RBoards for -Car Gen2 SoCs and kzm9d board for EMMA Mobile EV2 (emev2) SoC - Drop unnecessary address properties from VIN port nodes These are unnecessary as the nodes to not have bus addresses. * R-Car H2 (r8a7790), M2-W (r8a7791), M2-N (r8a7793) and E2 (r8a7794) SoCs - Describe FDP1 instances * iW-RainboW-G23S board for RZ/G1C (r8a77470) SoC - Initial SoC and board support - Enable EtherAVB - Describe all SCIF devices * Boards for R-Car Gen2 SoCs - Enable watchdog support Geert Uytterhoeven says "This patch series enables the builtin watchdog timer on R-Car Gen2 SoCs on all supported boards, and builds on top of Fabrizio's "[RFC v4 00/26] Fix watchdog on Renesas R-Car Gen2 and RZ/G1"." * R-Car Gen2 and RZ/G1 SoCs - Describe watchdog devices - For R-Car Gen2 this involves updating the SMP routine side as it is changed by a driver updated to allow watchdog device support * Wheat board for V2H (r8a7792) SoC - Correct ADV7513 address usage Kieran Bingham says "The r8a7792 Wheat board has two ADV7513 devices sharing a single I2C bus, however in low power mode the ADV7513 will reset it's slave maps to use the hardware defined default addresses. The ADV7511 driver was adapted to allow the two devices to be registered correctly - but it did not take into account the fault whereby the devices reset the addresses. This results in an address conflict between the device using the default addresses, and the other device if it is in low-power-mode. Repair this issue by moving both devices away from the default address definitions." -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQIzBAABCAAdFiEE4nzZofWswv9L/nKF189kaWo3T74FAlr+s/0ACgkQ189kaWo3 T76NqQ/+NFpjAj5GW248b9cClqkxC1OtZOC91Yz1g0kEjH1CHBc+iNRAGFKbVlFR k5KjRl7cp7zcJ058A47/gl0PoiRr6pXGGPqcxJwq5j5SyYb9I7bZ/wgEsd1U/cUM vYVj+ibmwVORfDuKxsTZU70/GXBi5vOo+T/U5csmKe2Z75emltgSH6DiMHjc/nyX uHIsj4IYIX07ZrTUFR6olFJfUr9YujdsD4/UtMOR32ifH8BHuPJDl5+jXngrBiFs pY/rvYUVctoe2/uMWB88v0NPhkWjIbY21GMluaBBDeVfM5GN34I7gqDZVQUMOx01 Eb5L2N+BKPgRd7GrIlzsMvD/o6449p4BQ7QPqdwuY6q/5q2sZb4gA11qOGfWqnSW +Nm/BriJuGiNcjVMn91dv5V0cdlMur4orzbOXZ7AQnSSBmlktABCOA7tbnoosVoh ZVqQsmxks6RUCOTppi8tGpqtZhLdRXzzIPEmcuoDZOxtp55LipEwCrX+2QDSop75 DhjZqq8bTdoMdd8D05bDLFFIuamf/zBW4AGE+cLBvPrRLgA4I42/2sa8KVG6H8rM TDAVRILt8YQmFzpW5zBRgokiE/UCZlY+g5h5K8kXEQNcl0iMiTd1seaQMjKbRP0A bcSJ6Ln90uDo7LZ8XxuKVDKT+HTo3unGzuOaQd0Z6BSM7S6qAfk= =LV2P -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'renesas-dt-for-v4.18' of https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/horms/renesas into next/late Renesas ARM Based SoC DT Updates for v4.18 * R-Mobile A1 (r8a7740) SoC - Describe CEU, IRQC, SYS-DMAC and USB devices - Cleanup for consistency with other Renesas SoCs and enhanced maintainability * RZ/A1H (r7s72100) SoC - Describe CEU device * R-Car Gen2, RZ/G1 and RZ/A1H SoCs - Add PMU device nodes * RZ/A1H (r7s72100) SoC - Correct interrupt types * R-Mobile APE6 (r8a73a4) APE4EVM board and SH-Mobile AG5 (sh73a0) SoC - Use generic disable-wp instead of now deprecated toshiba,mmc-wrprotect-disable property * EMMA Mobile EV2 (emev2) and SH-Mobile AG5 (sh73a0) SoCs - Add missing interrupt-affinity to PMU * R-Car H2 (r8a7790) and R-Mobile APE6 (r8a73a4) SoCs - Correct mask for GIC PPI interrupts * R-Car H2 (r8a7790), M2-W (r8a7791), M2-N (r8a7793) and E2 (r8a7794) SoCs - Describe FDP1 instances * R-Car Gen2 and RZ/G1 SoCs - Describe watchdog devices - For R-Car Gen2 this involves updating the SMP routine side as it is changed by a driver updated to allow watchdog device support * Alt board for R-Car E2 (r8a7794) SoC * RBoards for -Car Gen2 SoCs and kzm9d board for EMMA Mobile EV2 (emev2) SoC * iW-RainboW-G23S board for RZ/G1C (r8a77470) SoC - Initial SoC and board support - Enable EtherAVB - Describe all SCIF devices * Boards for R-Car Gen2 SoCs - Enable watchdog support * Wheat board for V2H (r8a7792) SoC - Correct ADV7513 address usage * tag 'renesas-dt-for-v4.18' of https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/horms/renesas: (69 commits) ARM: dts: r8a7740: Add CEU1 ARM: dts: r8a7740: Add CEU0 ARM: dts: r8a7745: Add PMU device node ARM: dts: r8a7743: Add PMU device node ARM: dts: r8a7794: Add PMU device node ARM: dts: r8a7793: Add PMU device node ARM: dts: r8a7792: Add PMU device node ARM: dts: r8a7791: Add PMU device node ARM: dts: r8a7790: Add PMU device nodes ARM: dts: r7s72100: Add PMU device node ARM: dts: r7s72100: Correct RTC interrupt types ARM: dts: r7s72100: Correct watchdog timer interrupt type ARM: dts: emev2: Add missing interrupt-affinity to PMU node ARM: dts: sh73a0: Add missing interrupt-affinity to PMU node ARM: dts: r8a73a4: Correct mask for GIC PPI interrupts ARM: dts: r8a7790: Correct mask for GIC PPI interrupts ARM: shmobile: r8a7794: alt: add EEPROM to DTS ARM: dts: kzm9d: Drop unnecessary address properties from gpio_keys node ARM: dts: silk: Drop unnecessary address properties from vin port node ARM: dts: alt: Drop unnecessary address properties from vin port node ...
