cf3dbe5dac s390/kasan: support preemptible kernel build
When the kernel is built with:
CONFIG_PREEMPT=y
CONFIG_PREEMPT_COUNT=y
"stfle" function used by kasan initialization code makes additional
call to preempt_count_add/preempt_count_sub. To avoid removing kasan
instrumentation from sched code where those functions leave split stfle
function and provide __stfle variant without preemption handling to be
used by Kasan.

b5130dc222 s390/sthyi: Fix machine name validity indication
When running as a level 3 guest with no host provided sthyi support
sclp_ocf_cpc_name_copy() will only return zeroes. Zeroes are not a

5eaf436e0e s390/vmalloc: fix VMALLOC_START calculation
With the introduction of the module area on top of the vmalloc area, the
calculation of VMALLOC_START in setup_memory_end() function hasn't been
adjusted. As a result we got vmalloc area 2 Gb (MODULES_LEN) smaller than
it should be and the preceding vmemmap area got extra memory instead.
The patch fixes this calculation error although there were no visible
negative effects.
Apart from that, change 'tmp' variable to 'vmemmap' in memory_end
calculation for better readability.

commit f56545430736 ("s390/zcrypt: Introduce QACT support

- Rename of some files and driver names which where still
  reflecting pcixx support to cex2a/cex2c.
- Removed all the zcrypt version strings in the file headers.
There is only one place left - the zcrypt.h header file is
now the only place for zcrypt device driver version info.
- Zcrypt version pump up from 2.2.0 to 2.2.1.

b6cbe3e8bd s390/kasan: avoid user access code instrumentation
Kasan instrumentation adds "store" check for variables marked as
modified by inline assembly. With user pointers containing addresses
from another address space this produces false positives.

static inline unsigned long clear_user_xc(void __user *to, ...)
{
	asm volatile(
	...
	: "+a" (to) ...

User space access functions are wrapped by manually instrumented
functions in kasan common code, which should be sufficient to catch
errors. So, we just disable uaccess.o instrumentation altogether.

42db5ed860 s390/kasan: add initialization code and enable it
Kasan needs 1/8 of kernel virtual address space to be reserved as the
shadow area. And eventually it requires the shadow memory offset to be
known at compile time (passed to the compiler when full instrumentation
is enabled). Any value picked as the shadow area offset for 3-level
paging would eat up identity mapping on 4-level paging (with 1PB
shadow area size). So, the kernel sticks to 3-level paging when kasan
is enabled. 3TB border is picked as the shadow offset. The memory
layout is adjusted so, that physical memory border does not exceed
KASAN_SHADOW_START and vmemmap does not go below KASAN_SHADOW_END.

Due to the fact that on s390 paging is set up very late and to cover
more code with kasan instrumentation, temporary identity mapping and
final shadow memory are set up early. The shadow memory mapping is
later carried over to init_mm.pgd during paging_init.

For the needs of paging structures allocation and shadow memory
population a primitive allocator is used, which simply chops off
memory blocks from the end of the physical memory.

Kasan currenty doesn't track vmemmap and vmalloc areas.

Current memory layout (for 3-level paging, 2GB physical memory).

369f91c374 s390/decompressor: rework uncompressed image info collection
The kernel decompressor has to know several bits of information about
uncompressed image. Currently this info is collected by running "nm" on
uncompressed vmlinux + "sed" and producing sizes.h file. This method
worked well, but it has several disadvantages. Obscure symbols name
pattern matching is fragile. Adding new values makes pattern even
longer. Logic is spread across code and make file. Limited ability to
adjust symbols values (currently magic lma value of 0x100000 is always
subtracted). Apart from that same pieces of information (and more)
would be needed for early memory detection and features like KASLR
outside of boot/compressed/ folder where sizes.h is generated.

To overcome limitations new "struct vmlinux_info" has been introduced
to include values needed for the decompressor and the rest of the
boot code. The only static instance of vmlinux_info is produced during
vmlinux link step by filling in struct fields by the linker (like it is
done with input_data in boot/compressed/vmlinux.scr.lds.S). This way
individual values could be adjusted with all the knowledge linker has
and arithmetic it supports. Later .vmlinux.info section (which contains
struct vmlinux_info) is transplanted into the decompressor image and
dropped from uncompressed image altogether.

While doing that replace "compressed/vmlinux.scr.lds.S" linker
script (whose purpose is to rename .data section in piggy.o to
.rodata.compressed) with plain objcopy command. And simplify
decompressor's linker script.

With current bzImage layout entire decompressor's code guaranteed to be
in a safe location under 0x100000, and hence could not be overwritten
during kernel move. For that reason head.S could be replaced with simple
memmove function. To do so introduce early boot code phase which is
executed from arch/s390/boot/head.S after "verify_facilities" and takes
care of optional kernel image decompression and transition to it.

ce3dc44749 s390: add support for virtually mapped kernel stacks
With virtually mapped kernel stacks the kernel stack overflow detection
is now fault based, every stack has a guard page in the vmalloc space.
The panic_stack is renamed to nodat_stack and is used for all function
that need to run without DAT, e.g. memcpy_real or do_start_kdump.

The main effect is a reduction in the kernel image size as with vmap
stacks the old style overflow checking that adds two instructions per
function is not needed anymore. Result from bloat-o-meter:

add/remove: 20/1 grow/shrink: 13/26854 up/down: 2198/-216240 (-214042)

In regard to performance the micro-benchmark for fork has a hit of a
few microseconds, allocating 4 pages in vmalloc space is more expensive
compare to an order-2 page allocation. But with real workload I could

00fab2350e s390/zcrypt: multiple zcrypt device nodes support
This patch is an extension to the zcrypt device driver to provide,
support and maintain multiple zcrypt device nodes. The individual
zcrypt device nodes can be restricted in terms of crypto cards,
domains and available ioctls. Such a device node can be used as a
base for container solutions like docker to control and restrict
the access to crypto resources.

The handling is done with a new sysfs subdir /sys/class/zcrypt.
Echoing a name (or an empty sting) into the attribute "create" creates
a new zcrypt device node. In /sys/class/zcrypt a new link will appear
which points to the sysfs device tree of this new device. The
attribute files "ioctlmask", "apmask" and "aqmask" in this directory
are used to customize this new zcrypt device node instance. Finally
the zcrypt device node can be destroyed by echoing the name into
/sys/class/zcrypt/destroy. The internal structs holding the device
info are reference counted - so a destroy will not hard remove a
device but only marks it as removable when the reference counter drops
to zero.

The mask values are bitmaps in big endian order starting with bit 0.
So adapter number 0 is the leftmost bit, mask is 0x8000... The sysfs
attributes accept 2 different formats:
* Absolute hex string starting with 0x like "0x12345678" does set
the mask starting from left to right. If the given string is shorter
than the mask it is padded with 0s on the right. If the string is
longer than the mask an error comes back (EINVAL).
* Relative format - a concatenation (done with ',') of the
terms +<bitnr>[-<bitnr>] or -<bitnr>[-<bitnr>]. <bitnr> may be any
valid number (hex, decimal or octal) in the range 0...255. Here are
  some examples:
    "+0-15,+32,-128,-0xFF"
    "-0-255,+1-16,+0x128"
    "+1,+2,+3,+4,-5,-7-10"

A simple usage examples:

  # create new zcrypt device 'my_zcrypt':
  echo "my_zcrypt" >/sys/class/zcrypt/create
  # go into the device dir of this new device
  echo "my_zcrypt" >create
  cd my_zcrypt/
  ls -l
  total 0
  -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Jul 20 15:23 apmask
  -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Jul 20 15:23 aqmask
  -r--r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Jul 20 15:23 dev
  -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Jul 20 15:23 ioctlmask
  lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root    0 Jul 20 15:23 subsystem -> ../../../../class/zcrypt
  ...
  # customize this zcrypt node clone
  # enable only adapter 0 and 2
  echo "0xa0" >apmask
  # enable only domain 6
  echo "+6" >aqmask
  # enable all 256 ioctls
  echo "+0-255" >ioctls
  # now the /dev/my_zcrypt may be used
  # finally destroy it
  echo "my_zcrypt" >/sys/class/zcrypt/destroy

Please note that a very similar 'filtering behavior' also applies to
the parent z90crypt device. The two mask attributes apmask and aqmask
in /sys/bus/ap act the very same for the z90crypt device node. However
the implementation here is totally different as the ap bus acts on
bind/unbind of queue devices and associated drivers but the effect is
still the same. So there are two filters active for each additional
zcrypt device node: The adapter/domain needs to be enabled on the ap
bus level and it needs to be active on the zcrypt device node level.

Let's make this a special case, so gmap_protect_range() and

gmap_protect_range() is called quite frequently for managing shadow

112c24d4dc KVM: s390: CPU model support for AP virtualization
Introduces two new CPU model facilities to support

1. AP Query Configuration Information (QCI) facility is installed.

This is indicated by setting facilities bit 12 for

for the guest if it is not set on the host.

If this facility is not set for the KVM guest, then only
APQNs with an APQI less than 16 will be used by a Linux
guest regardless of the matrix configuration for the virtual
machine. This is a limitation of the Linux AP bus.

2. AP Facilities Test facility (APFT) is installed.

This is indicated by setting facilities bit 15 for
the guest. The kernel will not enable this facility for
the guest if it is not set on the host.

If this facility is not set for the KVM guest, then no
AP devices will be available to the guest regardless of
the guest's matrix configuration for the virtual
machine. This is a limitation of the Linux AP bus.

for facilitating communication between QEMU and the
   VFIO AP device driver.

When the VFIO AP device driver is initialized:

* It registers with the AP bus for control of type 10 (CEX4
and newer) AP queue devices. This limitation was imposed
  due to:

  1. A desire to keep the code as simple as possible;

  2. Some older models are no longer supported by the kernel
and others are getting close to end of service.

  3. A lack of older systems on which to test older devices.

The probe and remove callbacks will be provided to support
the binding/unbinding of AP queue devices to/from the VFIO
  AP device driver.

* Creates a matrix device, /sys/devices/vfio_ap/matrix,
to serve as the parent of the mediated devices created, one
for each guest, and to hold the APQNs of the AP devices bound to
  the VFIO AP device driver.

e585b24aeb KVM: s390: refactor crypto initialization
This patch refactors the code that initializes and sets up the
crypto configuration for a guest. The following changes are
implemented via this patch:

1. Introduces a flag indicating AP instructions executed on
the guest shall be interpreted by the firmware. This flag
is used to set a bit in the guest's state description
indicating AP instructions are to be interpreted.

2. Replace code implementing AP interfaces with code supplied

3194cdb711 KVM: s390: introduce and use KVM_REQ_VSIE_RESTART
When we change the crycb (or execution controls), we also have to make sure
that the vSIE shadow datastructures properly consider the changed
values before rerunning the vSIE. We can achieve that by simply using a
VCPU request now.

This has to be a synchronous request (== handled before entering the
(v)SIE again).

The request will make sure that the vSIE handler is left, and that the
request will be processed (NOP), therefore forcing a reload of all
vSIE data (including rebuilding the crycb) when re-entering the vSIE
interception handler the next time.

9ea5972865 KVM: s390: vsie: simulate VCPU SIE entry/exit
VCPU requests and VCPU blocking right now don't take care of the vSIE
(as it was not necessary until now). But we want to have synchronous VCPU
requests that will also be handled before running the vSIE again.

So let's simulate a SIE entry of the VCPU when calling the sie during
vSIE handling and check for PROG_ flags. The existing infrastructure
(e.g. exit_sie()) will then detect that the SIE (in form of the vSIE) is
running and properly kick the vSIE CPU, resulting in it leaving the vSIE
loop and therefore the vSIE interception handler, allowing it to handle
VCPU requests.

E.g. if we want to modify the crycb of the VCPU and make sure that any
masks also get applied to the VSIE crycb shadow (which uses masks from the
VCPU crycb), we will need a way to hinder the vSIE from running and make
sure to process the updated crycb before reentering the vSIE again.

ccc413f621 s390/qdio: clean up AOB handling

Output Queues. So in qdio_kick_handler(), move the call to their handler

While at it, also remove
1. the unused sbal_state->aob field. For processing an async completion,

2. an unused EXPORT for qdio_allocate_aob(). External users would have

d1befa6582 s390/vdso: avoid 64-bit vdso mapping for compat tasks
vdso_fault used is_compat_task function (on s390 it tests "current"
thread_info flags) to distinguish compat tasks and map 31-bit vdso
pages. But "current" task might not correspond to mm context.

When 31-bit compat inferior is executed under gdb, gdb does
PTRACE_PEEKTEXT on vdso page, causing vdso_fault with "current" being
64-bit gdb process. So, 31-bit inferior ends up with 64-bit vdso mapped.

To avoid this problem a new compat_mm flag has been introduced into

55a5542a54 s390/hibernate: fix error handling when suspend cpu != resume cpu
The resume code checks if the resume cpu is the same as the suspend cpu.
If not, and if it is also not possible to switch to the suspend cpu, an
error message should be printed and the resume process should be stopped
by loading a disabled wait psw.

The current logic is broken in multiple ways, the message is never printed,
and the disabled wait psw never loaded because the kernel panics before that:
- sam31 and SIGP_SET_ARCHITECTURE to ESA mode is wrong, this will break
on the first 64bit instruction in sclp_early_printk().
- The init stack should be used, but the stack pointer is not set up correctly
  (missing aghi %r15,-STACK_FRAME_OVERHEAD).
- __sclp_early_printk() checks the sclp_init_state. If it is not
sclp_init_state_uninitialized, it simply returns w/o printing anything.
In the resumed kernel however, sclp_init_state will never be uninitialized.

This patch fixes those issues by removing the sam31/ESA logic, adding a
correct init stack pointer, and also introducing sclp_early_printk_force()
to allow using sclp_early_printk() even when sclp_init_state is not
uninitialized.

4faea239e5 y2038: utimes: Rework #ifdef guards for compat syscalls
After changing over to 64-bit time_t syscalls, many architectures will
want compat_sys_utimensat() but not respective handlers for utime(),
utimes() and futimesat(). This adds a new __ARCH_WANT_SYS_UTIME32 to
complement __ARCH_WANT_SYS_UTIME. For now, all 64-bit architectures that
support CONFIG_COMPAT set it, but future 64-bit architectures will not
(tile would not have needed it either, but got removed).

As older 32-bit architectures get converted to using CONFIG_64BIT_TIME,
they will have to use __ARCH_WANT_SYS_UTIME32 instead of
__ARCH_WANT_SYS_UTIME. Architectures using the generic syscall ABI don't
need either of them as they never had a utime syscall.

Since the compat_utimbuf structure is now required outside of
CONFIG_COMPAT, I'm moving it into compat_time.h.

caf6f9c8a3 asm-generic: Remove unneeded __ARCH_WANT_SYS_LLSEEK macro
The sys_llseek sytem call is needed on all 32-bit architectures and
none of the 64-bit ones, so we can remove the __ARCH_WANT_SYS_LLSEEK guard
and simplify the include/asm-generic/unistd.h header further.

Since 32-bit tasks can run either natively or in compat mode on 64-bit
architectures, we have to check for both !CONFIG_64BIT and CONFIG_COMPAT.

There are a few 64-bit architectures that also reference sys_llseek
in their 64-bit ABI (e.g. sparc), but I verified that those all
select CONFIG_COMPAT, so the #if check is still correct here. It's
a bit odd to include it in the syscall table though, as it's the
same as sys_lseek() on 64-bit, but with strange calling conventions.

fb37397594 asm-generic: Move common compat types to asm-generic/compat.h
While converting compat system call handlers to work on 32-bit

Let's move all the identical ones into asm-generic/compat.h to avoid
having to add even more identical definitions of those types.

For unknown reasons, mips defines __compat_gid32_t, __compat_uid32_t
and compat_caddr_t as signed, while all others have them unsigned.
This seems to be a mistake, but I'm leaving it alone here. The other
types all differ by size or alignment on at least on architecture.

compat_aio_context_t is currently defined in linux/compat.h but
also needed for compat_sys_io_getevents(), so let's move it into
the same place.

While we still have not decided whether the 32-bit time handling
will always use the compat syscalls, or in which form, I think this
is a useful cleanup that we can merge regardless.

- statx() to replace all of the above, adding 64-bit timestamps among
  other things.

We already compile stat64 only on those architectures that need it,
but newstat is always built, including on those that don't reference
it. This adds a new __ARCH_WANT_NEW_STAT symbol along the lines of
__ARCH_WANT_OLD_STAT and __ARCH_WANT_STAT64 to control compilation of
newstat. All architectures that need it use an explict define, the
others now get a little bit smaller, and future architecture (including
64-bit targets) won't ever see it.

8f2bc80c6e s390: ebcdic: convert comments to UTF-8
The ebcdic.c file contains tables for converting between ebcdic and PC
codepage 437. I could however not identify which encoding was used for
the comments. This seems to be some variation of ISO_8859-1 with
non-UTF-8 escape characters.

I have converted this to UTF-8 by manually removing the escape
characters and then running it through recode, to get the same encoding
that we use for the rest of the kernel.

d503ac531a kbuild: rename LDFLAGS to KBUILD_LDFLAGS
Commit a0f97e06a4 ("kbuild: enable 'make CFLAGS=...' to add
additional options to CC") renamed CFLAGS to KBUILD_CFLAGS.

Commit 222d394d30 ("kbuild: enable 'make AFLAGS=...' to add
additional options to AS") renamed AFLAGS to KBUILD_AFLAGS.

Commit 06c5040cdb ("kbuild: enable 'make CPPFLAGS=...' to add
additional options to CPP") renamed CPPFLAGS to KBUILD_CPPFLAGS.

For some reason, LDFLAGS was not renamed.

Using a well-known variable like LDFLAGS may result in accidental
override of the variable.

Kbuild generally uses KBUILD_ prefixed variables for the internally
appended options, so here is one more conversion to sanitize the
naming convention.

I did not touch Makefiles under tools/ since the tools build system
is a different world.

- Restructure of lockdep and latency tracers

This is the biggest change. Joel Fernandes restructured the hooks
from irqs and preemption disabling and enabling. He got rid of
a lot of the preprocessor #ifdef mess that they caused.

He turned both lockdep and the latency tracers to use trace events
inserted in the preempt/irqs disabling paths. But unfortunately,
these started to cause issues in corner cases. Thus, parts of the
code was reverted back to where lockde and the latency tracers
just get called directly (without using the trace events).
But because the original change cleaned up the code very nicely
we kept that, as well as the trace events for preempt and irqs
disabling, but they are limited to not being called in NMIs.

  - Have trace events use SRCU for "rcu idle" calls. This was required
for the preempt/irqs off trace events. But it also had to not
allow them to be called in NMI context. Waiting till Paul makes
    an NMI safe SRCU API.

  - New notrace SRCU API to allow trace events to use SRCU.

  - Addition of mcount-nop option support

  - SPDX headers replacing GPL templates.

  - Various other fixes and clean ups.

  - Some fixes are marked for stable, but were not fully tested

There is a semantic conflict because tip also added an .init_platform
callback to kvm.c. Please keep the initializer from this branch,
and add a call to kvmclock_init (added by tip) inside kvm_init_platform
 (added here).

Also, there is a backmerge from 4.18-rc6. This is because of a
refactoring that conflicted with a relatively late bugfix and
resulted in a particularly hellish conflict. Because the conflict
was only due to unfortunate timing of the bugfix, I backmerged and
rebased the refactoring rather than force the resolution on you.

50a7ca3c6f mm: convert return type of handle_mm_fault() caller to vm_fault_t
Use new return type vm_fault_t for fault handler. For now, this is just
documenting that the function returns a VM_FAULT value rather than an
errno. Once all instances are converted, vm_fault_t will become a
distinct type.

Ref-> commit 1c8f422059 ("mm: change return type to vm_fault_t")

In this patch all the caller of handle_mm_fault() are changed to return
vm_fault_t type.

866f3576a7 s390/pci: fix out of bounds access during irq setup
During interrupt setup we allocate interrupt vectors, walk the list of msi
descriptors, and fill in the message data. Requesting more interrupts than
supported on s390 can lead to an out of bounds access.

When we restrict the number of interrupts we should also stop walking the
msi list after all supported interrupts are handled.

2395103b3f s390/zcrypt: fix ap_instructions_available() returncodes
During review of KVM patches it was complained that the
ap_instructions_available() function returns 0 if AP
instructions are available and -ENODEV if not. The function
acts like a boolean function to check for AP instructions
available and thus should return 0 on failure and != 0 on
success. Changed to the suggested behaviour and adapted
the one and only caller of this function which is the ap
bus core code.

d983c89cc9 s390/ftrace: Add -mfentry and -mnop-mcount support
Utilize -mfentry and -mnop-mcount gcc options together with
-mrecord-mcount to get compiler generated calls to the profiling functions
as nops which are compatible with current -mhotpatch=0,3 approach. At the
same time -mrecord-mcount enables __mcount_loc section generation by
the compiler which allows to avoid using scripts/recordmcount.pl script.

"Since Martin is on vacation you get the s390 pull request from me:

   - Host large page support for KVM guests. As the patches have large
impact on arch/s390/mm/ this series goes out via both the KVM and
     the s390 tree.

   - Add an option for no compression to the "Kernel compression mode"
menu, this will come in handy with the rework of the early boot
     code.

   - A large rework of the early boot code that will make life easier
for KASAN and KASLR. With the rework the bootable uncompressed
image is not generated anymore, only the bzImage is available. For
debuggung purposes the new "no compression" option is used.

   - Re-enable the gcc plugins as the issue with the latent entropy
plugin is solved with the early boot code rework.

   - More spectre relates changes:
+ Detect the etoken facility and remove expolines automatically.
+ Add expolines to a few more indirect branches.

   - A rewrite of the common I/O layer trace points to make them
     consumable by 'perf stat'.

   - Add support for format-3 PCI function measurement blocks.

   - Changes for the zcrypt driver:
+ Add attributes to indicate the load of cards and queues.
+ Restructure some code for the upcoming AP device support in KVM.

   - Build flags improvements in various Makefiles.

   - A few fixes for the kdump support.

   - A couple of patches for gcc 8 compile warning cleanup.

   - Cleanup s390 specific proc handlers.

   - Add s390 support to the restartable sequence self tests.

   - Some PTR_RET vs PTR_ERR_OR_ZERO cleanup.

3ca17b1f36 lib/ubsan: remove null-pointer checks
With gcc-8 fsanitize=null become very noisy. GCC started to complain
about things like &a->b, where 'a' is NULL pointer. There is no NULL
dereference, we just calculate address to struct member. It's
technically undefined behavior so UBSAN is correct to report it. But as
long as there is no real NULL-dereference, I think, we should be fine.

-fno-delete-null-pointer-checks compiler flag should protect us from any
consequences. So let's just no use -fsanitize=null as it's not useful
for us. If there is a real NULL-deref we will see crash. Even if
userspace mapped something at NULL (root can do this), with things like
SMAP should catch the issue.

37a366face s390/mm: fix addressing exception after suspend/resume
Commit c9b5ad546e "s390/mm: tag normal pages vs pages used in page tables"
accidentally changed the logic in arch_set_page_states(), which is used by
the suspend/resume code. set_page_stable(page, order) was changed to
set_page_stable_dat(page, 0). After this, only the first page of higher order
pages will be set to stable, and a write to one of the unstable pages will
result in an addressing exception.

Fix this by using "order" again, instead of "0".

8cce437fbb s390/kdump: Fix elfcorehdr size calculation
Before the memory for the elfcorehdr is allocated the required size is
estimated with

       alloc_size = 0x1000 + get_cpu_cnt() * 0x4a0 +
               mem_chunk_cnt * sizeof(Elf64_Phdr);

Where 0x4a0 is used as size for the ELF notes to store the register
contend. This size is 8 bytes too small. Usually this does not immediately
cause a problem because the page reserved for overhead (Elf_Ehdr,
vmcoreinfo, etc.) is pretty generous. So usually there is enough spare
memory to counter the mis-calculated per cpu size. However, with growing
overhead and/or a huge cpu count the allocated size gets too small for the
elfcorehdr. Ultimately a BUG_ON is triggered causing the crash kernel to
panic.

Fix this by properly calculating the required size instead of relying on
magic numbers.

a449938297 KVM: s390: Add huge page enablement control
General KVM huge page support on s390 has to be enabled via the
kvm.hpage module parameter. Either nested or hpage can be enabled, as
we currently do not support vSIE for huge backed guests. Once the vSIE
support is added we will either drop the parameter or enable it as
default.

For a guest the feature has to be enabled through the new
KVM_CAP_S390_HPAGE_1M capability and the hpage module
parameter. Enabling it means that cmm can't be enabled for the vm and
disables pfmf and storage key interpretation.

This is due to the fact that in some cases, in upcoming patches, we
have to split huge pages in the guest mapping to be able to set more
granular memory protection on 4k pages. These split pages have fake
page tables that are not visible to the Linux memory management which
subsequently will not manage its PGSTEs, while the SIE will. Disabling
these features lets us manage PGSTE data in a consistent matter and
solve that problem.

5a045bb9c4 s390/mm: Make gmap_protect_range more modular
This patch reworks the gmap_protect_range logic and extracts the pte

6883f81aac pid: Implement PIDTYPE_TGID
Everywhere except in the pid array we distinguish between a tasks pid and
a tasks tgid (thread group id). Even in the enumeration we want that
distinction sometimes so we have added __PIDTYPE_TGID. With leader_pid
we almost have an implementation of PIDTYPE_TGID in struct signal_struct.

Add PIDTYPE_TGID as a first class member of the pid_type enumeration and
into the pids array. Then remove the __PIDTYPE_TGID special case and the
leader_pid in signal_struct.

The net size increase is just an extra pointer added to struct pid and
an extra pair of pointers of an hlist_node added to task_struct.

The effect on code maintenance is the removal of a number of special
cases today and the potential to remove many more special cases as
PIDTYPE_TGID gets used to it's fullest. The long term potential
is allowing zombie thread group leaders to exit, which will remove
a lot more special cases in the code.

306d6c49ac s390/kvm: fix deadlock when killed by oom
When the oom killer kills a userspace process in the page fault handler
while in guest context, the fault handler fails to release the mm_sem
if the FAULT_FLAG_RETRY_NOWAIT option is set. This leads to a deadlock
when tearing down the mm when the process terminates. This bug can only
happen when pfault is enabled, so only KVM clients are affected.

The problem arises in the rare cases in which handle_mm_fault does not
release the mm_sem. This patch fixes the issue by manually releasing
the mm_sem when needed.

5bedf8aa03 s390/mm: correct allocate_pgste proc_handler callback
Since proc_dointvec does not perform value range control,
proc_dointvec_minmax should be used to limit value range, which is
clearly intended here, as the internal representation of the value:

In fact it currently works, since we have

287d6070ac s390/purgatory: Remove duplicate variable definitions
Currently there are some variables in the purgatory (e.g. kernel_entry)
which are defined twice, once in assembler- and once in c-code. The reason
for this is that these variables are set during purgatory load, where
sanity checks on the corresponding Elf_Sym's are made, while they are used
in assembler-code. Thus adding a second definition in c-code is a handy
workaround to guarantee correct Elf_Sym's are created.

When the purgatory is compiled with -fcommon (default for gcc on s390) this
is no problem because both symbols are merged by the linker. However this
is not required by ISO C and when the purgatory is built with -fno-common
the linker fails with errors like

arch/s390/purgatory/purgatory.o:(.bss+0x18): multiple definition of `kernel_entry'
arch/s390/purgatory/head.o:/.../arch/s390/purgatory/head.S:230: first defined here

Thus remove the duplicate definitions and add the required size and type
information to the assembler definition. Also add -fno-common to the

ad03b821fb s390/purgatory: Fix crash with expoline enabled
When the kernel is built with CONFIG_EXPOLINE=y and a compiler with
indirect branch mitigation enabled the purgatory crashes. The reason for
that is that the macros defined for expoline are used in mem.S. These
macros define new sections (.text.__s390x_indirect_*) which are marked
executable. Due to the missing linker script those sections are linked to
address 0, just as the .text section. In combination with the entry point
also being at address 0 this causes the purgatory load code
(kernel/kexec_file.c: kexec_purgatory_setup_sechdrs) to update the entry
point twice. Thus the old kernel jumps to some 'random' address causing the
crash.

To fix this turn off expolines for the purgatory. There is no problem with
this in this case due to the fact that the purgatory only runs once and the
tlb is purged (diag 308) in the end.

80b14dee2b net: Add a new socket option for a future transmit time.
This patch introduces SO_TXTIME. User space enables this option in
order to pass a desired future transmit time in a CMSG when calling
sendmsg(2). The argument to this socket option is a 8-bytes long struct
provided by the uapi header net_tstamp.h defined as:

struct sock_txtime {
	clockid_t 	clockid;
	u32		flags;
};

Note that new fields were added to struct sock by filling a 2-bytes
hole found in the struct. For that reason, neither the struct size or
number of cachelines were altered.

dfa758638f s390/mm: fix refcount usage for 4K pgste
s390 no longer uses the _mapcount field in struct page to identify
the page table format being used. While the code was diligent in handling
the different mappings, it neglected to turn "off" the map bits when
alloc_pgste was being used. This resulted in bits remaining "on" in the
_refcount field, and thus an artifically huge "in use" count that prevents
the pages from actually being released by __free_page.

There's opportunity for improvement in the "1 vs 3" vs "1U vs 3U" vs
"0x1 vs 0x11" etc. variations for all these calls, I am just keeping
things simple compared to neighboring code.

2d6f74f797 s390/decompressor: correct EXCLUDE_FILE construct
The following linker construct is problematic with linkers of
binutils < 2.28:

EXCLUDE_FILE (*piggy.o) *(.rodata.*)

from 8f1732fc2a11dc of binutils:
"though the linker accepts this without complaint the
EXCLUDE_FILE part is silently ignored and has no effect."

Silent ignoring of EXCLUDE_FILE construct made .rodata.compressed be
part of .rodata, and in case of .rodata.compressed following some
unaligned data, input_len would also become unaligned.

from arch/s390/boot/compressed/vmlinux.map:
 .rodata.compressed
                0x0000000000012fea 0x4d57e7 arch/s390/boot/compressed/piggy.o
                0x0000000000012fea input_len
                0x0000000000012fee input_data

input_len is later used here:
arch/s390/boot/compressed/misc.c:113
	__decompress(input_data, input_len, NULL, NULL, output, 0, NULL, error);

asm generated by gcc looks like:
	.loc 3 113 0
egfrl	%r11,input_len

from what assembler generates invalid (the second operand must be aligned
on a doubleword boundary):
   0x00000000000129b4 <+148>: c4 bc 00 00 03 1b lgfrl %r11,0x12fea
hence specification exception is recognized.

To avoid an issue use EXCLUDE_FILE construct which is recognized by
older linkers (since at least binutils-2_11)
	*(EXCLUDE_FILE (*piggy.o) .rodata.compressed)

Also ensure that .rodata.compressed is at least doubleword aligned.

conditionally put at 0x100000 in bzImage.

In reality this is very close to classic uncompressed kernel "image",
but the decompressor has its own build and link process,
kernel/head64.S lives at 0x100000 rather than at 0x11000, and .bss
section is reused for both stages.

cad5b35da9 s390/decompressor: reuse lib/mem.S for mem functions
Reusing arch/s390/lib/mem.S file solves a problem that sclp_early_core.c

compile compressed/misc.c with -march=z900). This also allows to avoid
mem functions duplicates, makes code a bit smaller and optimized mem

a1d7d91f10 s390/decompressor: avoid reusing uncompressed image objects
Re-compile ebcdic.c and sclp_early_core.c for the decompressor,
using proper decompressor CFLAGS. This also allows to potentially use
instrumentation for those files when built for the main kernel image.

With kbuild there is no easy way to re-compile a source file from
another directory. Bypass ugly rules and Makefile meta-programming
with relative path includes of original files.

00f2fb573f s390: remove uncompressed kernel image build
Dropping support for uncompressed kernel "image" build. Having
both image and bzImage makes it complicated to add new code to an
early boot phase (which is part of vmlinux for uncompressed kernel and
a separate arch/s390/boot/compressed/vmlinux for bzImage).

e.g. sclp_early_core.o is used for both, the decompressor phase and the
main kernel. The fact of having uncompressed kernel "image" forces us
to have a single object file and sacrifice instrumentation flags on such
files (so that we could use them early). The story gets much more
complicated with the need to utilize some of the string functions.

With bzImage only support, we have 2 separate boot stages each built
and linked separately, which allows to reuse some shared code, but
recompile with appropriate flags.

76bf9d6cef s390/decompressor: correct build flags
The decompressor requires its own set of cc and asm flags, to avoid
building with features which do not make sense at such an early boot stage
(e.g. expoline, ftrace).

Currently cc flags are already set for the decompressor, but "cflags-y"
is not exported and hence empty. To fix that and to add asm flags, define
and export KBUILD_AFLAGS_DECOMPRESSOR and KBUILD_CFLAGS_DECOMPRESSOR
and rely on them in the decompressor's Makefile.
