f20a60fb7a drm/i915: split i915_driver_modeset_remove() to pre/post irq uninstall
Push irq uninstall further up, by splitting i915_driver_modeset_remove()
to two, the part with working irqs before irq uninstall, and the part
after irq uninstall. No functional changes.

93a0ed6cc1 drm/i915: split intel_modeset_driver_remove() to pre/post irq uninstall
Split intel_modeset_driver_remove() to two, the part with working irqs
before irq uninstall, and the part after irq uninstall. Move
irq_unintall() closer to the layer it belongs.

The error path in i915_driver_modeset_probe() looks obviously weird
after this, but remains as good or broken as it ever was. No functional
changes.

46edcdbdb6 drm/i915: register vga switcheroo later, unregister earlier
Move vga switcheroo and dsm handler register later in
i915_driver_register(), and unregister in i915_driver_unregister(). The
dsm handler unregister is a nop, and is only added for completeness.

My unsubstantiated suspicion is that the vga switcheroo state change
would not work as early as we register the hooks currently. In any case
exposing the interfaces to the world only after we've got everything set
up seems prudent.

Also replace the error handling in vga switcheroo register with a simple
error message. This is done at the same time due to lack of error
propagation from i915_driver_register().

e986209c67 drm/i915/gt: Rename i915_gem_restore_ggtt_mappings() for its new placement
The i915_ggtt now sits beneath gt/ outside of the auspices of gem/ and
should be given a fresh name to reflect that. We also want to give it a
name that reflects its role in the system suspend/resume, with the
intention of pulling together all the GGTT operations (e.g. restoring
the fence registers once they are pulled under gt/intel_ggtt_detiler.c)

640b50fa8c drm/i915: Restore very early GPU reset
In commit d03b224f42 ("drm/i915/gt: Apply sanitiization just before
resume") the GT sanitization was pulled into the resume path as we need
to know the backend in order to do a full reset prior to resume.
However, it is still imperative that we scrub existing GPU state before
clobbering in our early setup, so restore a minimal GPU reset at the
start of our init sequence.

cc662126b4 drm/i915: Introduce DRM_I915_GEM_MMAP_OFFSET
This is really just an alias of mmap_gtt. The 'mmap offset' nomenclature
comes from the value returned by this ioctl which is the offset into the
device fd which userpace uses with mmap(2).

mmap_gtt was our initial mmap_offset implementation, this extends
our CPU mmap support to allow additional fault handlers that depends on
the object's backing pages.

Note that we multiplex mmap_gtt and mmap_offset through the same ioctl,
and use the zero extending behaviour of drm to differentiate between
them, when we inspect the flags.

To support multiple mmap types on an object we need to support multiple
mmap_offsets for an object (each offset in the global device address
space corresponding to a unique instance of the object for a file + mmap
type). As we drop the simplified drm core idea of a single mmap_offset,
we need to provide replacement hooks for the dumb mmap interface as
well.

2f216a8507 drm/i915: update rawclk also on resume
Since CNP it's possible for rawclk to have two different values, 19.2

because the power on defaults worked just fine.

Update the rawclk also on resume. The natural place to do this would be

intel_power_domains_init_hw(). Thus put it there even if it feels
slightly out of place.

1629224324 drm/i915/lmem: add the fake lmem region
Intended for upstream testing so that we can still exercise the LMEM
plumbing and !i915_ggtt_has_aperture paths. Smoke tested on Skull Canyon
device. This works by allocating an intel_memory_region for a reserved
portion of system memory, which we treat like LMEM. For the LMEMBAR we
steal the aperture and 1:1 it map to the stolen region.

To enable simply set the i915 modparam fake_lmem_start= on the kernel
cmdline with the start of reserved region(see memmap=). The size of the
region we can use is determined by the size of the mappable aperture, so
the size of reserved region should be >= mappable_end. For now we only
enable for the selftests. Depends on CONFIG_DRM_I915_UNSTABLE being
enabled.

eg. memmap=2G$16G i915.fake_lmem_start=0x400000000

v2: make fake_lmem_start an i915 modparam

789fa8746d drm/i915: Restore full symmetry in i915_driver_modeset_probe/remove
Commit 2d6f6f359f ("drm/i915: add i915_driver_modeset_remove()")
claimed removal of asymmetry in probe() and remove() calls, however, it
didn't take care of calling intel_irq_uninstall() on driver remove.
That doesn't hurt as long as we still call it from
intel_modeset_driver_remove() but in order to have full symmetry we
should call it again from i915_driver_modeset_remove().

Note that it's safe to call intel_irq_uninstall() twice thanks to
commit b318b82455 ("drm/i915: Nuke drm_driver irq vfuncs"). We may
only want to mention the case we are adding in a related FIXME comment
provided by that commit. While being at it, update the name of
function mentioned as calling it out of sequence as that name has been
changed meanwhile by commit 78dae1ac35 ("drm/i915: Propagate
"_remove" function name suffix down").

2850748ef8 drm/i915: Pull i915_vma_pin under the vm->mutex
Replace the struct_mutex requirement for pinning the i915_vma with the
local vm->mutex instead. Note that the vm->mutex is tainted by the
shrinker (we require unbinding from inside fs-reclaim) and so we cannot
allocate while holding that mutex. Instead we have to preallocate
workers to do allocate and apply the PTE updates after we have we
reserved their slot in the drm_mm (using fences to order the PTE writes
with the GPU work and with later unbind).

In adding the asynchronous vma binding, one subtle requirement is to
avoid coupling the binding fence into the backing object->resv. That is
the asynchronous binding only applies to the vma timeline itself and not
to the pages as that is a more global timeline (the binding of one vma
does not need to be ordered with another vma, nor does the implicit GEM
fencing depend on a vma, only on writes to the backing store). Keeping
the vma binding distinct from the backing store timelines is verified by
a number of async gem_exec_fence and gem_exec_schedule tests. The way we
do this is quite simple, we keep the fence for the vma binding separate
and only wait on it as required, and never add it to the obj->resv
itself.

Another consequence in reducing the locking around the vma is the
destruction of the vma is no longer globally serialised by struct_mutex.
A natural solution would be to add a kref to i915_vma, but that requires
decoupling the reference cycles, possibly by introducing a new
i915_mm_pages object that is own by both obj->mm and vma->pages.
However, we have not taken that route due to the overshadowing lmem/ttm
discussions, and instead play a series of complicated games with
trylocks to (hopefully) ensure that only one destruction path is called!

v2: Add some commentary, and some helpers to reduce patch churn.
