In preparation for unconditionally passing the struct timer_list pointer to
all timer callbacks, switch to using the new timer_setup() and from_timer()
to pass the timer pointer explicitly.

A common pattern with skb_put() is to just want to memcpy()
some data into the new space, introduce skb_put_data() for
this.
An spatch similar to the one for skb_put_zero() converts many

With centralized MTU checking, there's nothing productive done by
eth_change_mtu that isn't already done in dev_set_mtu, so mark it as
deprecated and remove all usage of it in the kernel. All callers have been
audited for calls to alloc_etherdev* or ether_setup directly, which means
they all have a valid dev->min_mtu and dev->max_mtu. Now eth_change_mtu
prints out a netdev_warn about being deprecated, for the benefit of
out-of-tree drivers that might be utilizing it.
Of note, dvb_net.c actually had dev->mtu = 4096, while using
eth_change_mtu, meaning that if you ever tried changing it's mtu, you
couldn't set it above 1500 anymore. It's now getting dev->max_mtu also set
to 4096 to remedy that.

is misleadingly indented: the
db->init=0
is indented as if part of the else clause at line 1086, but it is
independent of it (no braces before the "if" at line 1087).
This patch fixes the indentation to reflect the actual meaning of the code,
though is it actually meant to be part of the "else" clause? (I'm a
compiler developer, not a kernel person). It also adds spaces around
the assignment, to placate checkpatch.pl.
Seen via an experimental new gcc warning I'm working on for gcc 6,
-Wmisleading-indentation, using gcc r223098 adding
-Werror=misleading-indentation to KBUILD_CFLAGS in Makefile.
The experimental GCC emits this warning (as an error), rightly IMHO:

We should prefer `struct pci_device_id` over `DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE` to
meet kernel coding style guidelines. This issue was reported by checkpatch.

The driver core clears the driver data to NULL after device_release
or on probe failure. Thus, it is not needed to manually clear the
device driver data to NULL.

The bulk of the patch comes from the __iomem changes.
- the phy read and write operations were carrying the chip id deep
down the call chain. Let's waste a pointer and contain the flying
spaghetti monster.
- phy_{read, write}_1bit only need to access the DCR9 register. The loss
of generality here should not hurt.
- removed a leftover printk of the EISA era. This is a pure PCI device.

string copy routine for a .get_drvinfo routine, do a bit of floor

Move the DEC - Tulip driver into drivers/net/ethernet/dec/tulip/
and make the necessary Kconfig and Makefile changes.
The Digital Equioment (DEC) driver ewrk3 was moved into
drivers/net/ethernet/dec/ and the remaining drivers (Tulip)
