d0f138b085 sparc: switch to using asm-generic for seccomp.h
Switch to using the newly created asm-generic/seccomp.h for the seccomp
strict mode syscall definitions. The obsolete sigreturn in COMPAT mode
is retained as an override. Remaining definitions are identical. Also
corrected missing #define for header reinclusion protection.

671d773297 sparc: Make LDC use common iommu poll management functions
Note that this conversion is only being done to consolidate the
code and ensure that the common code provides the sufficient
abstraction. It is not expected to result in any noticeable
performance improvement, as there is typically one ldc_iommu
per vnet_port, and each one has 8k entries, with a typical
request for 1-4 pages. Thus LDC uses npools == 1.

f1600e549b sparc: Make sparc64 use scalable lib/iommu-common.c functions
In iperf experiments running linux as the Tx side (TCP client) with
10 threads results in a severe performance drop when TSO is disabled,
indicating a weakness in the software that can be avoided by using
the scalable IOMMU arena DMA allocation.

Baseline numbers before this patch:
with default settings (TSO enabled) : 9-9.5 Gbps
Disable TSO using ethtool- drops badly: 2-3 Gbps.

After this patch, iperf client with 10 threads, can give a
throughput of at least 8.5 Gbps, even when TSO is disabled.

f91e8d6d76 sparc: clarify __GFP_NOFAIL allocation
Commit 920c3ed741 ("[SPARC64]: Add basic infrastructure for MD
add/remove notification") has added __GFP_NOFAIL for the allocation
request but it hasn't mentioned why is this strict requirement really
needed. The code was handling an allocation failure and propagated it
properly up the callchain so it is not clear why it is needed.

Dave has clarified the intention when I tried to remove the flag as not
being necessary:

: It is a serious failure.
:
: If we miss an MDESC update due to this allocation failure, the update
: is not an event which gets retransmitted so we will lose the updated
: machine description forever.
:
: We really need this allocation to succeed.

So add a comment to clarify the nofail flag and get rid of the failure
check because __GFP_NOFAIL allocation doesn't fail.

55dd0df781 jump_label: Allow asm/jump_label.h to be included in assembly
Wrap asm/jump_label.h for all archs with #ifndef __ASSEMBLY__.
Since these are kernel only headers, we don't need #ifdef
__KERNEL__ so can simplify things a bit.

If an architecture wants to use jump labels in assembly, it
will still need to define a macro to create the __jump_table
entries (see ARCH_STATIC_BRANCH in the powerpc asm/jump_label.h
for an example).

2077cef4d5 sparc64: Fix several bugs in memmove().
Firstly, handle zero length calls properly. Believe it or not there
are a few of these happening during early boot.

Next, we can't just drop to a memcpy() call in the forward copy case
where dst <= src. The reason is that the cache initializing stores
used in the Niagara memcpy() implementations can end up clearing out
cache lines before we've sourced their original contents completely.

For example, considering NG4memcpy, the main unrolled loop begins like
this:

     load src + 0x00
     load src + 0x08
     load src + 0x10
     load src + 0x18
     load src + 0x20
     store dst + 0x00

Assume dst is 64 byte aligned and let's say that dst is src - 8 for
this memcpy() call. That store at the end there is the one to the
first line in the cache line, thus clearing the whole line, which thus
clobbers "src + 0x28" before it even gets loaded.

To avoid this, just fall through to a simple copy only mildly
optimized for the case where src and dst are 8 byte aligned and the
length is a multiple of 8 as well. We could get fancy and call
GENmemcpy() but this is good enough for how this thing is actually
used.

Most callers assigned resources to devices after pci_scan_root_bus()

cb9e3c292d mm: vmalloc: pass additional vm_flags to __vmalloc_node_range()
For instrumenting global variables KASan will shadow memory backing memory
for modules. So on module loading we will need to allocate memory for
shadow and map it at address in shadow that corresponds to the address
allocated in module_alloc().

__vmalloc_node_range() could be used for this purpose, except it puts a
guard hole after allocated area. Guard hole in shadow memory should be a
problem because at some future point we might need to have a shadow memory
at address occupied by guard hole. So we could fail to allocate shadow
for module_alloc().

Now we have VM_NO_GUARD flag disabling guard page, so we need to pass into
__vmalloc_node_range(). Add new parameter 'vm_flags' to
__vmalloc_node_range() function.

f56141e3e2 all arches, signal: move restart_block to struct task_struct
If an attacker can cause a controlled kernel stack overflow, overwriting
the restart block is a very juicy exploit target. This is because the
restart_block is held in the same memory allocation as the kernel stack.

Moving the restart block to struct task_struct prevents this exploit by
making the restart_block harder to locate.

Note that there are other fields in thread_info that are also easy
targets, at least on some architectures.

It's also a decent simplification, since the restart code is more or less
identical on all architectures.

d016bf7ece mm: make FIRST_USER_ADDRESS unsigned long on all archs
LKP has triggered a compiler warning after my recent patch "mm: account
pmd page tables to the process":

    mm/mmap.c: In function 'exit_mmap':
 >> mm/mmap.c:2857:2: warning: right shift count >= width of type [enabled by default]

The code:

 > 2857 WARN_ON(mm_nr_pmds(mm) >
   2858                                round_up(FIRST_USER_ADDRESS, PUD_SIZE) >> PUD_SHIFT);

In this, on tile, we have FIRST_USER_ADDRESS defined as 0. round_up() has
the same type -- int. PUD_SHIFT.

I think the best way to fix it is to define FIRST_USER_ADDRESS as unsigned
long. On every arch for consistency.

4ecf886045 sparc32: fix broken set_pte()
32-bit sparc uses swap instruction to implement set_pte(). It called
using GCC inline assembler. But it misses the "memory" clobber to
indicate that pte value will be updated in memory.

As result GCC doesn't know that it cannot postpone pte pointer dereference
which occurs before set_pte() to post-set_pte() time.

It leads to real-world bugs -- [1]. In this situation we have code:

	ptent = ptep_modify_prot_start(mm, addr, pte);
	ptent = pte_modify(ptent, newprot);
	...
	ptep_modify_prot_commit(mm, addr, pte, ptent);

ptep_modify_prot_start() in sparc case is just 'pte' dereference plus
pte_clear().  pte_clear() calls broken set_pte().  GCC thinks it's valid
to dereference 'pte' again on pte_modify() and gets cleared pte.
ptep_modify_prot_commit() puts 'pteent' with pfn==0 back to page table,
which eventually leads to the crash.

61f77eda9b mm/hugetlb: reduce arch dependent code around follow_huge_*
Currently we have many duplicates in definitions around
follow_huge_addr(), follow_huge_pmd(), and follow_huge_pud(), so this
patch tries to remove the m. The basic idea is to put the default
implementation for these functions in mm/hugetlb.c as weak symbols
(regardless of CONFIG_ARCH_WANT_GENERAL_HUGETL B), and to implement
arch-specific code only when the arch needs it.

For follow_huge_addr(), only powerpc and ia64 have their own
implementation, and in all other architectures this function just returns
ERR_PTR(-EINVAL). So this patch sets returning ERR_PTR(-EINVAL) as
default.

As for follow_huge_(pmd|pud)(), if (pmd|pud)_huge() is implemented to
always return 0 in your architecture (like in ia64 or sparc,) it's never
called (the callsite is optimized away) no matter how implemented it is.
So in such architectures, we don't need arch-specific implementation.

In some architecture (like mips, s390 and tile,) their current
arch-specific follow_huge_(pmd|pud)() are effectively identical with the
common code, so this patch lets these architecture use the common code.

One exception is metag, where pmd_huge() could return non-zero but it
expects follow_huge_pmd() to always return NULL. This means that we need
arch-specific implementation which returns NULL. This behavior looks
strange to me (because non-zero pmd_huge() implies that the architecture
supports PMD-based hugepage, so follow_huge_pmd() can/should return some
relevant value,) but that's beyond this cleanup patch, so let's keep it.

Justification of non-trivial changes:
- in s390, follow_huge_pmd() checks !MACHINE_HAS_HPAGE at first, and this
patch removes the check. This is OK because we can assume MACHINE_HAS_HPAGE
is true when follow_huge_pmd() can be called (note that pmd_huge() has
the same check and always returns 0 for !MACHINE_HAS_HPAGE.)
- in s390 and mips, we use HPAGE_MASK instead of PMD_MASK as done in common
code. This patch forces these archs use PMD_MASK, but it's OK because
they are identical in both archs.
  In s390, both of HPAGE_SHIFT and PMD_SHIFT are 20.
  In mips, HPAGE_SHIFT is defined as (PAGE_SHIFT + PAGE_SHIFT - 3) and
  PMD_SHIFT is define as (PAGE_SHIFT + PAGE_SHIFT + PTE_ORDER - 3), but
PTE_ORDER is always 0, so these are identical.

33692f2759 vm: add VM_FAULT_SIGSEGV handling support
The core VM already knows about VM_FAULT_SIGBUS, but cannot return a
"you should SIGSEGV" error, because the SIGSEGV case was generally
handled by the caller - usually the architecture fault handler.

That results in lots of duplication - all the architecture fault
handlers end up doing very similar "look up vma, check permissions, do
retries etc" - but it generally works. However, there are cases where
the VM actually wants to SIGSEGV, and applications _expect_ SIGSEGV.

In particular, when accessing the stack guard page, libsigsegv expects a
SIGSEGV. And it usually got one, because the stack growth is handled by
that duplicated architecture fault handler.

However, when the generic VM layer started propagating the error return
from the stack expansion in commit fee7e49d45 ("mm: propagate error
from stack expansion even for guard page"), that now exposed the
existing VM_FAULT_SIGBUS result to user space. And user space really
expected SIGSEGV, not SIGBUS.

To fix that case, we need to add a VM_FAULT_SIGSEGV, and teach all those
duplicate architecture fault handlers about it. They all already have
the code to handle SIGSEGV, so it's about just tying that new return
value to the existing code, but it's all a bit annoying.

This is the mindless minimal patch to do this. A more extensive patch
would be to try to gather up the mostly shared fault handling logic into
one generic helper routine, and long-term we really should do that
cleanup.

Just from this patch, you can generally see that most architectures just
copied (directly or indirectly) the old x86 way of doing things, but in
the meantime that original x86 model has been improved to hold the VM
semaphore for shorter times etc and to handle VM_FAULT_RETRY and other
"newer" things, so it would be a good idea to bring all those
improvements to the generic case and teach other architectures about
them too.

031bc5743f mm/debug-pagealloc: make debug-pagealloc boottime configurable
Now, we have prepared to avoid using debug-pagealloc in boottime. So
introduce new kernel-parameter to disable debug-pagealloc in boottime, and
makes related functions to be disabled in this case.

Only non-intuitive part is change of guard page functions. Because guard
page is effective only if debug-pagealloc is enabled, turning off
according to debug-pagealloc is reasonable thing to do.

1077fa36f2 arch: Add lightweight memory barriers dma_rmb() and dma_wmb()
There are a number of situations where the mandatory barriers rmb() and
wmb() are used to order memory/memory operations in the device drivers
and those barriers are much heavier than they actually need to be. For
example in the case of PowerPC wmb() calls the heavy-weight sync
instruction when for coherent memory operations all that is really needed
is an lsync or eieio instruction.

This commit adds a coherent only version of the mandatory memory barriers
rmb() and wmb(). In most cases this should result in the barrier being the
same as the SMP barriers for the SMP case, however in some cases we use a
barrier that is somewhere in between rmb() and smp_rmb(). For example on
ARM the rmb barriers break down as follows:

  Barrier Call Explanation
  --------- -------- ----------------------------------
rmb() dsb() Data synchronization barrier - system
dma_rmb() dmb(osh) data memory barrier - outer sharable
smp_rmb() dmb(ish) data memory barrier - inner sharable

These new barriers are not as safe as the standard rmb() and wmb().
Specifically they do not guarantee ordering between coherent and incoherent
memories. The primary use case for these would be to enforce ordering of
reads and writes when accessing coherent memory that is shared between the
CPU and a device.

It may also be noted that there is no dma_mb(). Most architectures don't
provide a good mechanism for performing a coherent only full barrier without
resorting to the same mechanism used in mb(). As such there isn't much to
be gained in trying to define such a function.

8a44971841 arch: Cleanup read_barrier_depends() and comments
This patch is meant to cleanup the handling of read_barrier_depends and
smp_read_barrier_depends. In multiple spots in the kernel headers
read_barrier_depends is defined as "do {} while (0)", however we then go
into the SMP vs non-SMP sections and have the SMP version reference
read_barrier_depends, and the non-SMP define it as yet another empty
do/while.

With this commit I went through and cleaned out the duplicate definitions
and reduced the number of definitions down to 2 per header. In addition I
moved the 50 line comments for the macro from the x86 and mips headers that
defined it as an empty do/while to those that were actually defining the
macro, alpha and blackfin.

c164e038ee mm: fix huge zero page accounting in smaps report
As a small zero page, huge zero page should not be accounted in smaps
report as normal page.

For small pages we rely on vm_normal_page() to filter out zero page, but
vm_normal_page() is not designed to handle pmds. We only get here due
hackish cast pmd to pte in smaps_pte_range() -- pte and pmd format is not
necessary compatible on each and every architecture.

Let's add separate codepath to handle pmds. follow_trans_huge_pmd() will
detect huge zero page for us.

We would need pmd_dirty() helper to do this properly. The patch adds it
to THP-enabled architectures which don't yet have one.

9e66645d72 Merge branch 'irq-irqdomain-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/tip
Pull irq domain updates from Thomas Gleixner:
 "The real interesting irq updates:

   - Support for hierarchical irq domains:

For complex interrupt routing scenarios where more than one
interrupt related chip is involved we had no proper representation
in the generic interrupt infrastructure so far. That made people
implement rather ugly constructs in their nested irq chip
implementations. The main offenders are x86 and arm/gic.

To distangle that mess we have now hierarchical irqdomains which
seperate the various interrupt chips and connect them via the
hierarchical domains. That keeps the domain specific details
internal to the particular hierarchy level and removes the
criss/cross referencing of chip internals. The resulting hierarchy
for a complex x86 system will look like this:

        vector mapped: 74
          msi-0 mapped: 2
          dmar-ir-1 mapped: 69
            ioapic-1 mapped: 4
            ioapic-0 mapped: 20
            pci-msi-2 mapped: 45
          dmar-ir-0 mapped: 3
            ioapic-2 mapped: 1
            pci-msi-1 mapped: 2
          htirq mapped: 0

Neither ioapic nor pci-msi know about the dmar interrupt remapping
between themself and the vector domain. If interrupt remapping is
disabled ioapic and pci-msi become direct childs of the vector
     domain.

In hindsight we should have done that years ago, but in hindsight
     we always know better :)

   - Support for generic MSI interrupt domain handling

We have more and more non PCI related MSI interrupts, so providing
a generic infrastructure for this is better than having all
affected architectures implementing their own private hacks.

   - Support for PCI-MSI interrupt domain handling, based on the generic
     MSI support.

This part carries the pci/msi branch from Bjorn Helgaas pci tree to
avoid a massive conflict. The PCI/MSI parts are acked by Bjorn.

I have two more branches on top of this. The full conversion of x86
to hierarchical domains and a partial conversion of arm/gic"

a0e4467726 asm-generic: asm/io.h rewrite
While there normally is no reason to have a pull request for asm-generic
but have all changes get merged through whichever tree needs them, I do
have a series for 3.19. There are two sets of patches that change
significant portions of asm/io.h, and this branch contains both in order
 to resolve the conflicts:

 - Will Deacon has done a set of patches to ensure that all architectures
define {read,write}{b,w,l,q}_relaxed() functions or get them by
including asm-generic/io.h. These functions are commonly used on ARM
specific drivers to avoid expensive L2 cache synchronization implied by
the normal {read, write}{b,w,l,q}, but we need to define them on all
architectures in order to share the drivers across architectures and
to enable CONFIG_COMPILE_TEST configurations for them

 - Thierry Reding has done an unrelated set of patches that extends
the asm-generic/io.h file to the degree necessary to make it useful
on ARM64 and potentially other architectures.

Merge tag 'asm-generic-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arnd/asm-generic

Pull asm-generic asm/io.h rewrite from Arnd Bergmann:
"While there normally is no reason to have a pull request for
asm-generic but have all changes get merged through whichever tree
needs them, I do have a series for 3.19.

There are two sets of patches that change significant portions of
asm/io.h, and this branch contains both in order to resolve the
  conflicts:

   - Will Deacon has done a set of patches to ensure that all
     architectures define {read,write}{b,w,l,q}_relaxed() functions or
     get them by including asm-generic/io.h.

These functions are commonly used on ARM specific drivers to avoid
expensive L2 cache synchronization implied by the normal
{read, write}{b,w,l,q}, but we need to define them on all
architectures in order to share the drivers across architectures
and to enable CONFIG_COMPILE_TEST configurations for them

   - Thierry Reding has done an unrelated set of patches that extends
the asm-generic/io.h file to the degree necessary to make it useful
on ARM64 and potentially other architectures"

89aa075832 net: sock: allow eBPF programs to be attached to sockets
introduce new setsockopt() command:

setsockopt(sock, SOL_SOCKET, SO_ATTACH_BPF, &prog_fd, sizeof(prog_fd))

where prog_fd was received from syscall bpf(BPF_PROG_LOAD, attr, ...)
and attr->prog_type == BPF_PROG_TYPE_SOCKET_FILTER

setsockopt() calls bpf_prog_get() which increments refcnt of the program,
so it doesn't get unloaded while socket is using the program.

The same eBPF program can be attached to multiple sockets.

User task exit automatically closes socket which calls sk_filter_uncharge()
which decrements refcnt of eBPF program

Memset on a local variable may be removed when it is called just before the

	drivers/net/ieee802154/fakehard.c

A bug fix went into 'net' for ieee802154/fakehard.c, which is removed
in 'net-next'.

Add build fix into the merge from Stephen Rothwell in openvswitch, the
logging macros take a new initial 'log' argument, a new call was added
in 'net' so when we merge that in here we have to explicitly add the
new 'log' arg to it else the build fails.

7c3969c3a4 sparc: io: remove duplicate relaxed accessors on sparc32
Commit 1191ccb34c ("sparc: io: implement dummy relaxed accessor
macros for writes") added the relaxed accessors (readl_relaxed etc) in
a file that is shared between sparc32 and sparc64. However, the earlier
e1039fb426 ("sparc32: introduce asm-generic/io.h") had already changed
the sparc32 implementation to use asm-generic/io.h, which provides the
same macros, resulting in lots of build errors.

This moves the definitions from the shared sparc file into the
sparc64-only file to fix the sparc32 build regression.

2c8c56e15d net: introduce SO_INCOMING_CPU
Alternative to RPS/RFS is to use hardware support for multiple
queues.

Then split a set of million of sockets into worker threads, each
one using epoll() to manage events on its own socket pool.

Ideally, we want one thread per RX/TX queue/cpu, but we have no way to
know after accept() or connect() on which queue/cpu a socket is managed.

We normally use one cpu per RX queue (IRQ smp_affinity being properly
set), so remembering on socket structure which cpu delivered last packet
is enough to solve the problem.

After accept(), connect(), or even file descriptor passing around
processes, applications can use :

 int cpu;
 socklen_t len = sizeof(cpu);

 getsockopt(fd, SOL_SOCKET, SO_INCOMING_CPU, &cpu, &len);

And use this information to put the socket into the right silo
for optimal performance, as all networking stack should run
on the appropriate cpu, without need to send IPI (RPS/RFS).

The problem is that pbm->pci_bus->self is NULL.

This code is trying to go through the standard PCI config space
interfaces to read the PCI controller's PCI_STATUS register.

This doesn't work, because we more often than not do not enumerate
the PCI controller as a bonafide PCI device during the OF device
node scan. Therefore bus->self remains NULL.

Existing common code for PSYCHO and PSYCHO-like PCI controllers
handles this properly, by doing the config space access directly.

Do the same here, pbm->pci_ops->{read,write}().

 2) Add missing __get_user_pages_fast() on sparc64 to fix hangs on

It's really idiotic to have a weak symbolled fallback that just

which simply returns zero.

This is dangerous, because it causes the futex code to loop forever
if transparent hugepages are supported (see get_futex_key()).

ef3e035c3a sparc64: Fix register corruption in top-most kernel stack frame during boot.
Meelis Roos reported that kernels built with gcc-4.9 do not boot, we
eventually narrowed this down to only impacting machines using
UltraSPARC-III and derivitive cpus.

The crash happens right when the first user process is spawned:

[ 55.050713] ---[ end Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! exitcode=0x00000004

Further investigation showed that compiling only per_cpu_patch() with
an older compiler fixes the boot.

Detailed analysis showed that the function is not being miscompiled by
gcc-4.9, but it is using a different register allocation ordering.

With the gcc-4.9 compiled function, something during the code patching
causes some of the %i* input registers to get corrupted. Perhaps
we have a TLB miss path into the firmware that is deep enough to
cause a register window spill and subsequent restore when we get
back from the TLB miss trap.

Let's plug this up by doing two things:

1) Stop using the firmware stack for client interface calls into
the firmware. Just use the kernel's stack.

2) As soon as we can, call into a new function "start_early_boot()"
to put a one-register-window buffer between the firmware's
deepest stack frame and the top-most initial kernel one.

1191ccb34c sparc: io: implement dummy relaxed accessor macros for writes
write{b,w,l,q}_relaxed are implemented by some architectures in order to
permit memory-mapped I/O accesses with weaker barrier semantics than the
non-relaxed variants.

This patch adds dummy macros for the write accessors to sparc, in the
same vein as the dummy definitions for the relaxed read accessors. The
existing relaxed read{b,w,l} accessors are moved into asm/io.h, since
they are identical between 32-bit and 64-bit machines.

Pull audit updates from Eric Paris:
"So this change across a whole bunch of arches really solves one basic
problem. We want to audit when seccomp is killing a process. seccomp
hooks in before the audit syscall entry code. audit_syscall_entry
took as an argument the arch of the given syscall. Since the arch is
part of what makes a syscall number meaningful it's an important part
of the record, but it isn't available when seccomp shoots the
  syscall...

For most arch's we have a better way to get the arch (syscall_get_arch)
So the solution was two fold: Implement syscall_get_arch() everywhere
there is audit which didn't have it. Use syscall_get_arch() in the
seccomp audit code. Having syscall_get_arch() everywhere meant it was
a useless flag on the stack and we could get rid of it for the typical
  syscall entry.

The other changes inside the audit system aren't grand, fixed some
records that had invalid spaces. Better locking around the task comm
field. Removing some dead functions and structs. Make some things
  static. Really minor stuff"

e2653143d7 sparc64: Do not define thread fpregs save area as zero-length array.
This breaks the stack end corruption detection facility.

What that facility does it write a magic value to "end_of_stack()"
and checking to see if it gets overwritten.

"end_of_stack()" is "task_thread_info(p) + 1", which for sparc64 is
the beginning of the FPU register save area.

So once the user uses the FPU, the magic value is overwritten and the
debug checks trigger.

Fix this by making the size explicit.

Due to the size we use for the fpsaved[], gsr[], and xfsr[] arrays we
are limited to 7 levels of FPU state saves. So each FPU register set
is 256 bytes, allocate 256 * 7 for the fpregs area.

84bd6d8b9c sparc64: Fix corrupted thread fault code.
Every path that ends up at do_sparc64_fault() must install a valid
FAULT_CODE_* bitmask in the per-thread fault code byte.

Two paths leading to the label winfix_trampoline (which expects the
FAULT_CODE_* mask in register %g4) were not doing so:

1) For pre-hypervisor TLB protection violation traps, if we took
the 'winfix_trampoline' path we wouldn't have %g4 initialized
with the FAULT_CODE_* value yet. Resulting in using the
   TLB_TAG_ACCESS register address value instead.

2) In the TSB miss path, when we notice that we are going to use a
hugepage mapping, but we haven't allocated the hugepage TSB yet, we
still have to take the window fixup case into consideration and
in that particular path we leave %g4 not setup properly.

Errors on this sort were largely invisible previously, but after
commit 4ccb927289 ("sparc64: sun4v TLB
error power off events") we now have a fault_code mask bit
(FAULT_CODE_BAD_RA) that triggers due to this bug.

FAULT_CODE_BAD_RA triggers because this bit is set in TLB_TAG_ACCESS
(see #1 above) and thus we get seemingly random bus errors triggered
for user processes.
