Fix tps53679_probe() by using dynamically allocated "pmbus_driver_info"
structure instead of static. Usage of static structures causes
overwritten of the field "vrm_version", in case the system is equipped
with several tps53679 devices with the different "vrm_version".
In such case the last probed device overwrites this field for all
others.

'Updates the data fabric/system management network code needed to get
k10temp working for M30h. Since there are now processors which have
multiple roots per DF/SMN interface, there needs to some logic which
skips N-1 root complexes per DF/SMN interface. This is because the
root complexes per interface are redundant (as far as DF/SMN goes).

In lm80_probe(), if lm80_read_value() fails, it returns a negative
error number which is stored to data->fan[f_min] and will be further
used. We should avoid using the data if the read fails.

The Kconfig lexer supports special characters such as '.' and '/' in
the parameter context. In my understanding, the reason is just to
support bare file paths in the source statement.
I do not see a good reason to complicate Kconfig for the room of
ambiguity.
The majority of code already surrounds file paths with double quotes,
and it makes sense since file paths are constant string literals.
Make it treewide consistent now.

If all three channels are disabled via in[123]_enable ABI,
the driver could suspend the chip for power saving purpose.
So this patch adds the PM runtime support in order to gain
more power control than system suspend and resume use case.
For PM runtime, there are a few related changes happening:
1) Added a new pm_dev device pointer for all the PM runtime
callbacks. This is because hwmon core registers a child
device for each hwmon driver and passes it back to each
driver. So there might be a mismatch between two device
pointers in the driver if mixing using them.
2) Added a check in ina3221_is_enabled() to make sure that
the chip is resumed.
3) Bypassed the unchanged status in ina3221_write_enable()
in order to keep the PM runtime refcount being matched.
4) Removed the reset routine in the probe() by calling the
resume() via pm_runtime_get_sync() instead, as they're
similar. It's also necessary to do so to match initial
PM refcount with the number of enabled channels.

The data might need some time to get ready after channel enabling,
although the data register is always readable. The CVRF bit is to
indicate that data conversion is finished, so polling the CVRF bit
before data reading could ensure the result being valid.
An alternative way could be to wait for expected time between the
channel enabling and the data reading. And this could avoid extra
I2C communications. However, INA3221 seemly takes longer time than
what's stated in the datasheet. Test results show that sometimes
it couldn't finish data conversion in time.
So this patch plays safe by adding a CVRF polling to make sure the
data register is updated with the new data.

This change adds a mutex to serialize accesses of sysfs attributes.
This is required when polling CVRF bit of the MASK/ENABLE register
because this bit is cleared on a read of this MASK/ENABLE register
or a write to CONFIG register, which means that this bit might be
accidentally cleared by reading other fields like alert flags.
So this patch adds a mutex lock to protect the write() and read()
callbacks. The read_string() callback won't need the lock since it
just returns the label without touching any hardware register.

Signed-off-by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net>
There is nothing critically wrong to read these two attributes
without having a is_enabled() check at this point. But reading
the MASK_ENABLE register would clear the CVRF bit according to
the datasheet. So it'd be safer to fence for disabled channels
in order to add pm runtime feature.

The OCC provides a variety of additional information about the state of
the host processor, such as throttling, error conditions, and the number
of OCCs detected in the system. This information is essential to service
processor applications such as fan control and host management.

The OCC is a device embedded on a POWER processor that collects and
aggregates sensor data from the processor and system. The OCC can
provide the raw sensor data as well as perform thermal and power
management on the system.
This driver provides a hwmon interface to the OCC from a service
processor (e.g. a BMC). The driver supports both POWER8 and POWER9 OCCs.
Communications with the POWER8 OCC are established over standard I2C
bus. The driver communicates with the POWER9 OCC through the FSI-based
OCC driver, which handles the lower-level communication details.
This patch lays out the structure of the OCC hwmon driver. There are two
platform drivers, one each for P8 and P9 OCCs. These are probed through
the I2C tree and the FSI-based OCC driver, respectively. The patch also
defines the first common structures and methods between the two OCC
versions.

The ADM series of hotswap controllers support extending
the current measurement range by using a sensing resistor
value other than the typical 1 mOhm. For example, using a 0.5 mOhm
sensing resistor doubles the maximal current can be measured.
Current driver assumes a shunt resistor value of 1 mOhm in calculation,
meaning for other resistor values, hwmon will report scaled
current/power measurements. This patch parses device tree parameter

When using DT configurations, the id pointer might turn out to
be NULL. Then the driver encounters NULL pointer access:
Unable to handle kernel read from unreadable memory at vaddr 00000018
[...]
PC is at ina2xx_probe+0x114/0x200
LR is at ina2xx_probe+0x10c/0x200
[...]
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! exitcode=0x0000000b
The reason is that i2c core returns the id pointer by matching
id_table with client->name, while the client->name is actually
using the name from the first string in the DT compatible list,
not the best one. So i2c core would fail to match the id_table
if the best matched compatible string isn't the first one, and
then would return a NULL id pointer.
This probably should be fixed in i2c core. But it doesn't hurt
to make the driver robust. So this patch fixes it by using the
"chip" that's added to unify both DT and non-DT configurations.
Additionally, since id pointer could be null, so as id->name:
ina2xx 10-0047: power monitor (null) (Rshunt = 1000 uOhm)
ina2xx 10-0048: power monitor (null) (Rshunt = 10000 uOhm)
So this patch also fixes NULL name pointer, using client->name
to play safe and to align with hwmon->name.

Devices with compatible="pmbus" field have zero initial page count,
and pmbus_clear_faults() being called before the page count auto-
detection does not actually clear faults because it depends on the
page count. Non-cleared faults in its turn may fail the subsequent
page count auto-detection.
This patch fixes this problem by calling pmbus_clear_fault_page()
for currently set page and calling pmbus_clear_faults() after the
page count was detected.

'default n' is the default value for any bool or tristate Kconfig
setting so there is no need to write it explicitly.
Also since commit f467c5640c ("kconfig: only write '# CONFIG_FOO
is not set' for visible symbols") the Kconfig behavior is the same
regardless of 'default n' being present or not:
...
One side effect of (and the main motivation for) this change is making
the following two definitions behave exactly the same:
config FOO
bool
config FOO
bool
default n
With this change, neither of these will generate a
'# CONFIG_FOO is not set' line (assuming FOO isn't selected/implied).
That might make it clearer to people that a bare 'default n' is
redundant.

Trace events are useful for people who collect data from the
Ftrace outputs. There're people who analyse the relationship
of cpufreq, thermal and hwmon (power/voltage/current) using
the convenient and timestamped Ftrace outputs, while unlike
cpufreq and thermal subsystems the hwmon does not have trace
events supported yet.
So this patch adds initial trace events for the hwmon core.
To call hwmon_attr_base() for aligned attr index numbers, it
also moves the function upward.
Ftrace outputs:
...: hwmon_attr_show_string: index=2, attr_name=in2_label, val=VDD_5V
...: hwmon_attr_show: index=2, attr_name=in2_input, val=5112
...: hwmon_attr_show: index=2, attr_name=curr2_input, val=440
Note that the _attr_show and _attr_store functions are tied
to the _with_info API. So a hwmon driver requiring the trace
events feature should use _with_info API to register a hwmon
device.

An ina3221 chip has three input ports. Each port is used
to measure the voltage and current of its input source.
The DT binding now has defined bindings for their input
sources, so the driver should read these information and
handle accordingly.
This patch adds a new structure of input source specific
information including input source label, shunt resistor
value and its connection status. It exposes these labels
via in[123]_label sysfs nodes upon available, and also
disables those channels where there are no input source
being connected. Meanwhile, it also adds in[123]_enable
sysfs nodes for users to get control of three channels,
and returns -ENODATA code for any sensor read according

The MODE3-1 bits are located at BIT 2-0 according to the datasheet.

The MSB (15th bit) of INA3221_CONFIG is a self-clear reset bit.
So this register should be added to the volatile_table of the
regmap_config. Otherwise, we will see this bit is sticky in the
regcache which might accidentally reset the chip when an actual
write happens to the register.
This might not be a severe bug for the current code line since
there's no second place touching the INA3221_CONFIG except the
reset routine in the probe().

Technically this is not required because disabling the PWM should be
enough. However, when support for atomic operations was implemented in
the PWM subsystem, only actual changes to the PWM channel are applied
during pwm_config(), which means that during after resume from suspend
the old settings won't be applied.
One possible solution is for the PWM driver to implement its own PM
operations such that settings from before suspend get applied on resume.
This has the disadvantage of completely ignoring any particular ordering
requirements that PWM user drivers might have, so it is best to leave it
up to the user drivers to apply the settings that they want at the
appropriate time.
Another way to solve this would be to read back the current state of the
PWM at the time of resume. That way, in case the configuration was lost
during suspend, applying the old settings in PWM user drivers would
actually get them applied because they differ from the current settings.
However, not all PWM drivers support reading the hardware state, and not
all hardware may support it.
The best workaround at this point seems to be to let PWM user drivers
tell the PWM subsystem that the PWM is turned off by, in addition to
disabling it, also setting the duty cycle to 0. This causes the resume
operation to apply a configuration that is different from the current
configuration, resulting in the proper state from before suspend getting
restored.

However, an older version of the datasheet lists temperature sources 10

version of the datasheet is correct, so list those temperature sources
as supported.
Virtual temperature sources are different than other temperature sources:
Values are not read from a temperature sensor, but written either from
BIOS or an embedded controller. As such, each virtual temperature has to
be reported. Since there is now more than one temperature source, we have
to keep virtual temperature sources in a chip-specific mask and can no
longer rely on the assumption that there is only one virtual temperature
source with a fixed index. This accounts for most of the complexity of this
patch.

The adt7475_update_device() function returns error pointers. The
problem is that in show_pwmfreq() we dereference it before the check.
And then in pwm_use_point2_pwm_at_crit_show() there isn't a check at
all. I don't know if it's required, but it silences a static checker
warning and it's doesn't hurt anything to check.

Here is the bit set of char/misc drivers for 4.19-rc1
There is a lot here, much more than normal, seems like everyone is
writing new driver subsystems these days... Anyway, major things here
are:
- new FSI driver subsystem, yet-another-powerpc low-level
hardware bus
- gnss, finally an in-kernel GPS subsystem to try to tame all of
the crazy out-of-tree drivers that have been floating around
for years, combined with some really hacky userspace
implementations. This is only for GNSS receivers, but you
have to start somewhere, and this is great to see.
Other than that, there are new slimbus drivers, new coresight drivers,
new fpga drivers, and loads of DT bindings for all of these and existing
drivers.
Full details of everything is in the shortlog.
All of these have been in linux-next for a while with no reported
issues.

- Increase our MAX_PHYSMEM_BITS to 128TB when SPARSEMEM_VMEMMAP=y.
- Remove Power8 DD1 and Power9 DD1 support, neither chip should be in use

- An optimised memcmp implementation using Power7-or-later VMX instructions
- Support for barrier_nospec on some NXP CPUs.

(controlled by firmware), as a Spectre v2 mitigation.
- A series to enhance the information we print on unhandled signals to bring it

I2C SMBus sometimes returns error codes.
In the error case, measurement values are updated incorrectly.
The sensor application then generates warning log messages and SNMP traps.
To prevent this, add error handling into the update functions.

OPAL firmware provides the facility for some groups of sensors to be
enabled/disabled at runtime to give the user the option of using the
system resources for collecting these sensors or not.
For example, on POWER9 systems, the On Chip Controller (OCC) gathers
various system and chip level sensors and maintains their values in
main memory.
This patch provides support for enabling/disabling the sensor groups
like power, temperature, current and voltage.

for 4.19, please pull the following:
- Doug updates the low-level suspend/resume code for ARM SoCs to support
the latest rev B3.0 memory controllers found on newer chips with an
appropriate match structure to perform the correct entry sequencing
- Florian updates the Device Tree binding document for these memory
controllers to list all possible compatible strings that exist given
the supported memory controllers.
- Stefan adds the GET_THROTTLED firmware property value that is required
for the Rasperry Pi voltage monitoring driver and updates the
Raspberry Pi firmware driver accordingly to register such a device
using the HWMON subsystem. Finally he adds support for reporting under
voltage conditions using a specialized HWMON driver.

Currently there is no easy way to detect undervoltage conditions on a
remote Raspberry Pi. This hwmon driver retrieves the state of the
undervoltage sensor via mailbox interface. The handling based on
Noralf's modifications to the downstream firmware driver. In case of
an undervoltage condition only an entry is written to the kernel log.

Driver obtains PWM and tachometers registers location according to the
system configuration and creates FAN/PWM hwmon objects and a cooling
device. PWM and tachometers are controlled through the on-board
programmable device, which exports its register map. This device could be
attached to any bus type, for which register mapping is supported. Single
instance is created with one PWM control, up to 12 tachometers and one
cooling device. It could be as many instances as programmable device
supports.
Currently driver will be activated from the Mellanox platform driver:
drivers/platform/x86/mlx-platform.c.
For the future ARM based systems it could be activated from the ARM
platform module.

At over 4000 #includes, <linux/platform_device.h> is the 9th most
#included header file in the Linux kernel. It does not need
<linux/mod_devicetable.h>, so drop that header and explicitly add
<linux/mod_devicetable.h> to source files that need it.
4146 #include <linux/platform_device.h>
After this patch, there are 225 files that use <linux/mod_devicetable.h>,
for a reduction of around 3900 times that <linux/mod_devicetable.h>
does not have to be read & parsed.
225 #include <linux/mod_devicetable.h>
This patch was build-tested on 20 different arch-es.
It also makes these drivers SubmitChecklist#1 compliant.

following error, reported by UBSAN.
UBSAN: Undefined behaviour in drivers/hwmon/nct6775.c:4179:27

modes (current, voltage, temperature) available in the chip.
If devicetree is used, the mode must be specified with the property
"lltc,meas-mode". The format and possible values of the property are
described in the binding.
If devicetree is not used, the mode of the chip will not be configured.
Unless the chip is configured by another source, only the internal
temperature and supply voltage will be measured.

The SMN (System Management Network) on Family 17h AMD CPUs is also accessed
from other drivers, specifically EDAC. Accessing it directly is racy.
On top of that, accessing the SMN through root bridge 00:00 is wrong on
multi-die CPUs and may result in reading the temperature from the wrong
die. Use available API functions to fix the problem.
For this to work, add dependency on AMD_NB. Also change the Raven Ridge
PCI device ID to point to Data Fabric Function 3, since this ID is used
by the API functions to find the CPU node.

ARM System Control and Management Interface(SCMI)[1] is more flexible and
easily extensible than any of the existing interfaces.
Few existing as well as future ARM platforms provide micro-controllers
to abstract various power and other system management tasks which have
similar interfaces, both in terms of the functions that are provided by
them, and in terms of how requests are communicated to them.
There are quite a few protocols like ARM SCPI, TI SCI, QCOM RPM, Nvidia Tegra
BPMP, and so on already. This specification is to standardize and avoid any
further fragmentation in the design of such interface by various vendors.
The current SCMI driver implementation is very basic and initial support.
It lacks support for notifications, asynchronous/delayed response, perf/power
statistics region and sensor register region.
Mailbox is the only form of transport supported currently in the driver.
SCMI supports interrupt based mailbox communication, where, on completion
of the processing of a message, the caller receives an interrupt as well as
polling for completion.
SCMI is designed to minimize the dependency on the mailbox/transport
hardware. So in terms of SCMI, each channel in the mailbox includes
memory area, doorbell and completion interrupt.
However the doorbell and completion interrupt is highly mailbox dependent
which was bit of controversial as part of SCMI/mailbox discussions.
Arnd and me discussed about the few aspects of SCMI and the mailbox framework:
1. Use of mailbox framework for doorbell type mailbox controller:
- Such hardware may not require any data to be sent to signal the remote
about the presence of a message. The channel will have in-built
information on how to trigger the signal to the remote.
There are few mailbox controller drivers which are purely doorbell based.
e.g.QCOM IPC, STM, Tegra, ACPI PCC,..etc
2. Supporting other mailbox controller:
- SCMI just needs a mechanism to signal the remote firmware. Such
controller may need fixed message to be sent to trigger a doorbell.
In such case we may need to get that data from DT and pass the same
to the controller. It's not covered in the current DT binding, but
can be extended as optional property in future.
However handling notifications may be interesting on such mailbox, but
again there is no way to interpret what the data field(remote message)
means, it could be a bit mask or a number or don't-care.
Arnd mentioned that he doesn't like the way the mailbox binding deals
with doorbell-type hardware, but we do have quite a few precedent drivers
already and changing the binding to add a data field would not make it any
better, but could cause other problems. So he is happy with the status quo
of SCMI implementation.

An sht3x sensor include limits register which contains temperature
and humidity limit values. After a reset, pre-defined values are loaded
into that register. During the probe function, the driver reads the
limits register. However, if the reads are made too early, and the bus
is clocked at high frequencies (e.g. 100 kHz or more), the loading could be
not completed and the sensor returns a NACK which causes the probe to fail.

The driver doesn't have a struct of_device_id table but supported devices
are registered via Device Trees. This is working on the assumption that a
I2C device registered via OF will always match a legacy I2C device ID and
that the MODALIAS reported will always be of the form i2c:<device>.
But this could change in the future so the correct approach is to have an
OF device ID table if the devices are registered via OF.

Calibration register is used for calculating current register in
hardware according to datasheet:
current = shunt_volt * calib_register / 2048 (ina 226)
current = shunt_volt * calib_register / 4096 (ina 219)
Fix calib_register value to 2048 for ina226 and 4096 for ina 219 in
order to avoid truncation error and provide best precision allowed
by shunt_voltage measurement. Make current scale value follow changes
of shunt_resistor from sysfs as calib_register value is now fixed.
Power_lsb value should also follow shunt_resistor changes as stated in
datasheet:
power_lsb = 25 * current_lsb (ina 226)
power_lsb = 20 * current_lsb (ina 219)

The dual tachometer feature is implemented in hardware with a TACHSEL
input to indicate the rotor under measurement, and exposed on the device
by extending the READ_FAN_SPEED_1 word with two extra bytes*. The need
to read the non-standard four-byte response leads to a cut-down
implementation of i2c_smbus_xfer_emulated() included in the driver.
Further, to expose the second rotor tachometer value to userspace the
values are exposed through virtual pages. We re-route accesses to
FAN_CONFIG_1_2 and READ_FAN_SPEED_1 on pages 23-28 (not defined by the
hardware) to the same registers on pages 0-5, and with the latter command
we extract the value from the second word of the four-byte response.
* The documentation recommends the slower rotor be associated with
TACHSEL=0, which corresponds to the first word of the response. The
TACHSEL=0 measurement is used by the controller's closed-loop fan
management to judge target fan rate.

Some circumstances call for virtual pages, to expose multiple values
packed into an extended PMBus register in a manner non-compliant with
the PMBus standard. An example of this is the Maxim MAX31785 controller,
which extends the READ_FAN_SPEED_1 PMBus register from two to four bytes
to support tach readings for both rotors of a dual rotor fan. This extended
register contains two word-sized values, one reporting the rate of the
fastest rotor, the other the rate of the slowest. The concept of virtual
pages aids this situation by mapping the page number onto the value to be
selected from the vectored result.
We should not try to set virtual pages on the device as such a page
explicitly doesn't exist; add a flag so we can avoid doing so.

The implementation makes use of the new fan control virtual registers
exposed by the pmbus core. It mixes use of the default implementations
with some overrides via the read/write handlers to handle FAN_COMMAND_1
on the MAX31785, whose definition breaks the value range into various
control bands dependent on RPM or PWM mode.

Expose fanX_target, pwmX and pwmX_enable hwmon sysfs attributes.
Fans in a PMBus device are driven by the configuration of two registers,
FAN_CONFIG_x_y and FAN_COMMAND_x: FAN_CONFIG_x_y dictates how the fan
and the tacho operate (if installed), while FAN_COMMAND_x sets the
desired fan rate. The unit of FAN_COMMAND_x is dependent on the
operational fan mode, RPM or PWM percent duty, as determined by the
corresponding configuration in FAN_CONFIG_x_y.
The mapping of fanX_target, pwmX and pwmX_enable onto FAN_CONFIG_x_y and
FAN_COMMAND_x is implemented with the addition of virtual registers to
facilitate the necessary side-effects of each access:
1. PMBUS_VIRT_FAN_TARGET_x
2. PMBUS_VIRT_PWM_x
3. PMBUS_VIRT_PWM_ENABLE_x
Some complexity arises with the fanX_target and pwmX attributes both mapping
onto FAN_COMMAND_x: There is no general mapping between PWM percent duty and
RPM, so we can't display values in either attribute in terms of the other
(which in my mind is the intuitive, if impossible, behaviour). This problem
also affects the pwmX_enable attribute which allows userspace to switch between
full speed, manual PWM and a number of automatic control modes, possibly
including a switch to RPM behaviour (e.g. automatically adjusting PWM duty to
reach a RPM target, the behaviour of fanX_target).
The next most intuitive behaviour is for fanX_target and pwmX to simply be
independent, to retain their most recently set value even if that value is not
active on the hardware (due to switching to the alternative control mode). This
property of retaining the value independent of the hardware state has useful
results for both userspace and the kernel: Userspace always sees a sensible
value in the attribute (the last thing it was set to, as opposed to 0 or
receiving an error on read), and the kernel can use the attributes as a value
cache. This latter point eases the implementation of pwmX_enable, which can
look up the associated pmbus_sensor object, take its cached value and apply it
to hardware on changing control mode. This ensures we will not arbitrarily set
a PWM value as an RPM value or vice versa, and we can assume that the RPM or
PWM value set was sensible at least at some point in the past.
Finally, the DIRECT mode coefficients of some controllers is different between
RPM and PWM percent duty control modes, so PSC_PWM is introduced to capture the
necessary coefficients. As pmbus core had no PWM support previously PSC_FAN
continues to be used to capture the RPM DIRECT coefficients, but in order to
avoid falsely applying RPM scaling to PWM values I have introduced the
PMBUS_HAVE_PWM12 and PMB_BUS_HAVE_PWM34 feature bits. These feature bits allow
drivers to explicitly declare PWM support in order to have the attributes
exposed.
