8ae93b5ed9 pinctrl: cherryview: Missed type change to unsigned int
We converted 'unsigned' type to be 'unsigned int' in the driver,
but there are couple of leftovers. So, finish the task now.

e58e177392 pinctrl: cherryview: Allocate IRQ chip dynamic
Keeping the IRQ chip definition static shares it with multiple instances
of the GPIO chip in the system. This is bad and now we get this warning
from GPIO library:

"detected irqchip that is shared with multiple gpiochips: please fix the driver."

Hence, move the IRQ chip definition from being driver static into the struct
intel_pinctrl. So a unique IRQ chip is used for each GPIO chip instance.

This patch is heavily based on the attachment to the bug by Christoph Marz.

3739898576 pinctrl: cherryview: Fix irq_valid_mask calculation
Commit 03c4749dd6 ("gpio / ACPI: Drop unnecessary ACPI GPIO to Linux
GPIO translation") has made the cherryview gpio numbers sparse, to get
a 1:1 mapping between ACPI pin numbers and gpio numbers in Linux.

This has greatly simplified things, but the code setting the
irq_valid_mask was not updated for this, so the valid mask is still in
the old "compressed" numbering with the gaps in the pin numbers skipped,
which is wrong as irq_valid_mask needs to be expressed in gpio numbers.

This results in the following error on devices using pin 24 (0x0018) on
the north GPIO controller as an ACPI event source:

[ 0.422452] cherryview-pinctrl INT33FF:01: Failed to translate GPIO to IRQ

This has been reported (by email) to be happening on a Caterpillar CAT T20
tablet and I've reproduced this myself on a Medion Akoya e2215t 2-in-1.

This commit uses the pin number instead of the compressed index into
community->pins to clear the correct bits in irq_valid_mask for GPIOs
using GPEs for interrupts, fixing these errors and in case of the
Medion Akoya e2215t also fixing the LID switch not working.

260996c30f pinctrl: cherryview: restore Strago DMI workaround for all versions
This is essentially a revert of:

e3f72b749d pinctrl: cherryview: fix Strago DMI workaround
86c5dd6860 pinctrl: cherryview: limit Strago DMI workarounds to version 1.0

because even with 1.1 versions of BIOS there are some pins that are
configured as interrupts but not claimed by any driver, and they
sometimes fire up and result in interrupt storms that cause touchpad
stop functioning and other issues.

Given that we are unlikely to qualify another firmware version for a
while it is better to keep the workaround active on all Strago boards.

5fbe5b5883 gpio: Initialize the irqchip valid_mask with a callback
After changing the valid_mask for the struct gpio_chip
to detect the need and presence of a valid mask with the
presence of a .init_valid_mask() callback to fill it in,
we augment the gpio_irq_chip to use the same logic.

Switch all driver using the gpio_irq_chio valid_mask
over to this new method.

This makes sure the valid_mask for the gpio_irq_chip gets
filled in when we add the gpio_chip, which makes it a
little easier to switch over drivers using the old
way of setting up gpio_irq_chip over to the new method
of passing the gpio_irq_chip along with the gpio_chip.

1adde32a2e pinctrl: cherryview: Stop clearing the GPIO_EN bit from chv_gpio_disable_free
Clearing the GPIO_EN bit from chv_gpio_disable_free is a bad idea and
pinctrl-cherryview.c is the only Intel pinctrl driver doing something
like this.

Clearing the GPIO_EN bit means that if the pin was an output it is now
effectively floating. The datasheet is not clear what happens to pull ups /
downs in this case, but from testing it looks like these are disabled too,
also floating input pins.

One example where this is causing issues is the soc_button_array input
driver, this parses ACPI tables to create 2 platform devices for the
gpio_keys input driver. The list of GPIOs is passed through struct
gpio_keys_platform_data which uses gpio numbers rather then gpio_desc
pointers.

The buttons handled by this drivers short the pin to ground when pressed
and the volume buttons rely on the SoC's internal pull-up to pull the
pin high when the button is not pressed.

To get the gpio number, the soc_button_array code calls gpiod_get_index
followed by a desc_to_gpio call and then gpiod_put on the gpio_desc.
This last call causes chv_gpio_disable_free to clear the GPIO_EN bit.

When the gpio_keys driver then loads next it gets the gpio_desc again
causing the GPIO_EN bit to be set again and immediately reads the GPIO
value which for the volume buttons reads 0 at this time, causing a spurious
press of the volume buttons to get reported.

Putting a small delay between the gpio_desc request and the read fixes
this, I assume that this is caused by the pull-up being temporarily
disabled while the GPIO_EN bit is cleared as the powerbutton which also
has its GPIO_EN bit cleared does not have this problem.

The soc_button_array code is not the only code temporarily requesting GPIOs
the DWC3 PCI code also does this, to set the enable and reset GPIOs for the
external phy, so that the code instantiating the ULPI phy can read the
vendor and product ID registers from the phy. These GPIOs are released
after this so that the PHY driver can claim and use them when it loads.

Another example of temporary GPIO usage would be a user-space set_gpio
utility using the userspace ioctls to set a GPIO as output value 0 or 1,
having the GPIO revert to floating as soon as this utility exits would
certainly be unexpected behavior.

One argument in favor of clearing the GPIO_EN bit is if the GPIO is going
to be muxed to another function after being released, but in that case
chv_pinmux_set_mux() already clears it.

TL;DR: Clearing the GPIO_EN bit from is a bad idea, this commit therefor
removes the clearing from chv_gpio_disable_free(), replacing it with code
to clear the interrupt-trigger condition so that the GPIO stops generating
interrupts when released, as pinctrl-baytrail.c does.

Note this commit adds a !chv_pad_locked() condition to the trigger clearing
call, which the original GPIO_EN clearing code was missing.

86c5dd6860 pinctrl: cherryview: limit Strago DMI workarounds to version 1.0
As Google/Intel will fix the BIOS/Coreboot issues with hardcoding
virtual interrupt numbers for keyboard/touchpad/touchscreen controllers
in ACPI tables, they will also update BOARD version number from 1.0
to 1.1. Let's limit the DMI quirks that try to preserve virtual IRQ
numbers on Strago boards to those that still carry older BIOSes.

Note that ideally not BOARD but BIOS version should have been updated.
However the BIOS version used by Chrome devices has format of
Google_BUILD.BRANCH.PATCH which is not well suited for DMI matching as
we do not have "less than" match mode for DMI data.

83b9dc1131 pinctrl: cherryview: Associate IRQ descriptors to irqdomain
When we dropped the custom Linux GPIO translation it resulted that the
IRQ numbers changed slightly as well. Normally this would be fine
because everyone is expected to use controller relative GPIO numbers and
ACPI GpioIo/GpioInt resources. However, there is a certain set of
Intel_Strago based Chromebooks where i8042 keyboard controller IRQ
number is hardcoded be 182 (this is corrected with newer coreboot but
the older ones still have the hardcoded Linux IRQ number). Because of
this hardcoded IRQ number keyboard on those systems accidentally broke
again.

Fix this by iteratively associating IRQ descriptors to the chip irqdomain
so that there are no gaps on those systems. Other systems are not
affected.

ef991796be This is the bulk of pin control changes for the v4.16 kernel cycle:
Core changes:

 - After lengthy discussions and partly due to my ignorance, we have
   merged a patch making pinctrl_force_default() and pinctrl_force_sleep()
reprogram the states into the hardware of any hogged pins, even
if they are already in the desired state. This only apply to hogged
pins since groups of pins owned by drivers need to be managed by
each driver, lest they could not do things like runtime PM and
put pins to sleeping state even if the system as a whole is not
   in sleep.

 New drivers:

 - New driver for the Microsemi Ocelot SoC. This is used in ethernet
   switches.

 - The X-Powers AXP209 GPIO driver was extended to also deal with pin
control and moved over from the GPIO subsystem. This circuit is
a mixed-mode integrated circuit which is part of AllWinner designs.

 - New subdriver for the Qualcomm MSM8998 SoC, core of a high end
   mobile devices (phones) chipset.

 - New subdriver for the ST Microelectronics STM32MP157 MPU and
STM32F769 MCU from the STM32 family.

 - New subdriver for the MediaTek MT7622 SoC. This is used for routers,
repeater, gateways and such network infrastructure.

 - New subdriver for the NXP (former Freescale) i.MX 6ULL. This SoC has
multimedia features and target "smart devices", I guess in-car
entertainment, in-flight entertainment, industrial control panels etc.

 General improvements:

 - Incremental improvements on the SH-PFC subdrivers for things like
   the CAN bus.

 - Enable the glitch filter on Baytrail GPIOs used for interrupts.

 - Proper handling of pins to GPIO ranges on the Semtec SX150X

 - An IRQ setup ordering fix on MCP23S08.

 - A good set of janitorial coding style fixes.

d2b3c35359 pinctrl: cherryview: Mask all interrupts on Intel_Strago based systems
Guenter Roeck reported an interrupt storm on a prototype system which is
based on Cyan Chromebook. The root cause turned out to be a incorrectly
configured pin that triggers spurious interrupts. This will be fixed in
coreboot but currently we need to prevent the interrupt storm from
happening by masking all interrupts (but not GPEs) on those systems.

03c4749dd6 gpio / ACPI: Drop unnecessary ACPI GPIO to Linux GPIO translation
We added acpi_gpiochip_pin_to_gpio_offset() because there was a need to
translate from ACPI GpioIo/GpioInt number to Linux GPIO number in the
Cherryview pinctrl driver. This translation is necessary because
Cherryview has gaps in the pin list and the driver used continuous GPIO
number space in Linux side as follows:

  created GPIO range 0->7 ==> INT33FF:03 PIN 0->7
  created GPIO range 8->19 ==> INT33FF:03 PIN 15->26
  created GPIO range 20->25 ==> INT33FF:03 PIN 30->35
  created GPIO range 26->33 ==> INT33FF:03 PIN 45->52
  created GPIO range 34->43 ==> INT33FF:03 PIN 60->69
  created GPIO range 44->54 ==> INT33FF:03 PIN 75->85

For example when ACPI GpioInt resource refers to GPIO 81 (SDMMC3_CD_B)
we translate from pin 81 to the corresponding Linux GPIO number, which
is 50. This number is then used when the GPIO is accessed through gpiolib.

It turns out, this is not necessary at all. We can just pass 1:1 mapping
between Linux GPIO numbers and pin numbers (including gaps) and the
pinctrl core handles all the details automatically:

  created GPIO range 0->7 ==> INT33FF:03 PIN 0->7
  created GPIO range 15->26 ==> INT33FF:03 PIN 15->26
  created GPIO range 30->35 ==> INT33FF:03 PIN 30->35
  created GPIO range 45->52 ==> INT33FF:03 PIN 45->52
  created GPIO range 60->69 ==> INT33FF:03 PIN 60->69
  created GPIO range 75->85 ==> INT33FF:03 PIN 75->85

Here GPIO 81 is exactly same than the hardware pin 81 (SDMMC3_CD_B).

As an added bonus this simplifies both the ACPI GPIO core code and the
Cherryview pinctrl driver.

b630a23a73 This is the bulk of pin control changes for the v4.15
kernel cycle:

 Core:

 - The pin control Kconfig entry PINCTRL is now turned into
a menuconfig option. This obviously has the implication of
making the subsystem menu visible in menuconfig. This is
   happening because of two things:

   - Intel have started to deploy and depend on pin controllers
in a way that is affecting users directly. This happens
on the highly integrated laptop chipsets named after
     geographical places: baytrail, broxton, cannonlake,
     cedarfork, cherryview, denverton, geminilake, lewisburg,
merrifield, sunrisepoint... It started a while back and
now it is ever more evident that this is crucial
infrastructure for x86 laptops and not an embedded
obscurity anymore. Users need to be aware.

   - Pin control expanders on I2C and SPI that are
arch-agnostic. Currently Semtech SX150X and Microchip
MCP28x08 but more are expected. Users will have to be
able to configure these in directly for their set-up.

 - Just go and select GPIOLIB now that we made sure that
GPIOLIB is a very vanilla subsystem. Do not depend on
it, if we need it, select it.

 - Exposing the pin control subsystem in menuconfig uncovered
a bunch of obscure bugs that are now hopefully fixed,
all more or less pertaining to Blackfin.

 - Unified namespace for cross-calls between pin control and
   GPIO.

 - New support for clock skew/delay generic DT bindings
and generic pin config options for this.

 - Minor documentation improvements.

 Various:

 - The Renesas SH-PFC pin controller has evolved a lot. It seems
Renesas are churning out new SoCs by the minute.

 - A bunch of non-critical fixes for the Rockchip driver.

 - Improve the use of library functions instead of open coding.

 - Support the MCP28018 variant in the MCP28x08 driver.

 - Static constifying.

6aa2f9441f This is the bulk of GPIO changes for the v4.15 kernel cycle:
CORE:
 - Fix the semantics of raw GPIO to actually be raw. No
inversion semantics as before, but also no open draining,
and allow the raw operations to affect lines used for
interrupts as the caller supposedly knows what they are
doing if they are getting the big hammer.

 - Rewrote the __inner_function() notation calls to names that
make more sense. I just find this kind of code disturbing.

 - Drop the .irq_base() field from the gpiochip since now all
IRQs are mapped dynamically. This is nice.

 - Support for .get_multiple() in the core driver API. This
allows us to read several GPIO lines with a single
register read. This has high value for some usecases: it
can be used to create oscilloscopes and signal analyzers
and other things that rely on reading several lines at
exactly the same instant. Also a generally nice
optimization. This uses the new assign_bit() macro from
the bitops lib that was ACKed by Andrew Morton and
is implemented for two drivers, one of them being the
generic MMIO driver so everyone using that will be able
   to benefit from this.

 - Do not allow requests of Open Drain and Open Source
setting of a GPIO line simultaneously. If the hardware
actually supports enabling both at the same time the
   electrical result would be disastrous.

 - A new interrupt chip core helper. This will be helpful
to deal with "banked" GPIOs, which means GPIO controllers
with several logical blocks of GPIO inside them. This
is several gpiochips per device in the device model, in
contrast to the case when there is a 1-to-1 relationship
between a device and a gpiochip.

 NEW DRIVERS:

 - Maxim MAX3191x industrial serializer, a very interesting
   piece of professional I/O hardware.

 - Uniphier GPIO driver. This is the GPIO block from the
recent Socionext (ex Fujitsu and Panasonic) platform.

 - Tegra 186 driver. This is based on the new banked GPIO
   infrastructure.

 OTHER IMPROVEMENTS:

 - Some documentation improvements.

 - Wakeup support for the DesignWare DWAPB GPIO controller.

 - Reset line support on the DesignWare DWAPB GPIO controller.

 - Several non-critical bug fixes and improvements for the
   Broadcom BRCMSTB driver.

 - Misc non-critical bug fixes like exotic errorpaths, removal
   of dead code etc.

 - Explicit comments on fall-through switch() statements.

Merge tag 'gpio-v4.15-1' of ssh://gitolite.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/linusw/linux-gpio

Pull GPIO updates from Linus Walleij:
"This is the bulk of GPIO changes for the v4.15 kernel cycle:

  Core:

   - Fix the semantics of raw GPIO to actually be raw. No inversion
semantics as before, but also no open draining, and allow the raw
operations to affect lines used for interrupts as the caller
supposedly knows what they are doing if they are getting the big
     hammer.

   - Rewrote the __inner_function() notation calls to names that make
more sense. I just find this kind of code disturbing.

   - Drop the .irq_base() field from the gpiochip since now all IRQs are
     mapped dynamically. This is nice.

   - Support for .get_multiple() in the core driver API. This allows us
to read several GPIO lines with a single register read. This has
high value for some usecases: it can be used to create
oscilloscopes and signal analyzers and other things that rely on
reading several lines at exactly the same instant. Also a generally
nice optimization. This uses the new assign_bit() macro from the
bitops lib that was ACKed by Andrew Morton and is implemented for
two drivers, one of them being the generic MMIO driver so everyone
using that will be able to benefit from this.

   - Do not allow requests of Open Drain and Open Source setting of a
GPIO line simultaneously. If the hardware actually supports
enabling both at the same time the electrical result would be
     disastrous.

   - A new interrupt chip core helper. This will be helpful to deal with
"banked" GPIOs, which means GPIO controllers with several logical
blocks of GPIO inside them. This is several gpiochips per device in
the device model, in contrast to the case when there is a 1-to-1
relationship between a device and a gpiochip.

  New drivers:

   - Maxim MAX3191x industrial serializer, a very interesting piece of
     professional I/O hardware.

   - Uniphier GPIO driver. This is the GPIO block from the recent
Socionext (ex Fujitsu and Panasonic) platform.

   - Several non-critical bug fixes and improvements for the Broadcom
     BRCMSTB driver.

   - Misc non-critical bug fixes like exotic errorpaths, removal of dead
     code etc.

   - Explicit comments on fall-through switch() statements"

845e405e5e pinctrl: cherryview: fix issues caused by dynamic gpio irqs mapping
New GPIO IRQs are allocated and mapped dynamically by default when
GPIO IRQ infrastructure is used by cherryview-pinctrl driver.
This causes issues on some Intel platforms [1][2] with broken BIOS which
hardcodes Linux IRQ numbers in their ACPI tables.

On such platforms cherryview-pinctrl driver should allocate and map all
GPIO IRQs at probe time.
Side effect - "Cannot allocate irq_descs @ IRQ%d, assuming pre-allocated\n"
can be seen at boot log.

NOTE. It still may fail if boot sequence will changed and some interrupt
controller will be probed before cherryview-pinctrl which will shift Linux IRQ
numbering (expected with CONFIG_SPARCE_IRQ enabled).

2a8209fa68 pinctrl: cherryview: Extend the Chromebook DMI quirk to Intel_Strago systems
It turns out there are quite many Chromebooks out there that have the
same keyboard issue than Acer Chromebook. All of them are based on
Intel_Strago reference and report their DMI_PRODUCT_FAMILY as
"Intel_Strago" (Samsung Chromebook 3 and Cyan Chromebooks are exceptions
for which we add separate entries).

Instead of adding each machine to the quirk table, we use
DMI_PRODUCT_FAMILY of "Intel_Strago" that hopefully covers most of the
machines out there currently.

The extra week before the merge window actually resulted in some of

I have recruited a Samsung subsubsystem maintainer (Krzysztof) to deal

7036502783 pinctrl: cherryview: Add a quirk to make Acer Chromebook keyboard work again
After commit 47c950d102 ("pinctrl: cherryview: Do not add all
southwest and north GPIOs to IRQ domain") the driver does not add all
GPIOs to the irqdomain. The reason for that is that those GPIOs cannot
generate IRQs at all, only GPEs (General Purpose Events). This causes
Linux virtual IRQ numbering to change.

However, it seems some CYAN Chromebooks, including Acer Chromebook
hardcodes these Linux IRQ numbers in the ACPI tables of the machine.
Since the numbering is different now, the IRQ meant for keyboard does
not match the Linux virtual IRQ number anymore making the keyboard
non-functional.

Work this around by adding special quirk just for these machines where
we add back all GPIOs to the irqdomain. Rest of the Cherryview/Braswell
based machines will not be affected by the change.

58957d2edf pinctrl: Widen the generic pinconf argument from 16 to 24 bits
The current pinconf packed format allows only 16-bit argument limiting
the maximum value 65535. For most types this is enough. However,
debounce time can be in range of hundreths of milliseconds in case of
mechanical switches so we cannot represent the worst case using the
current format.

In order to support larger values change the packed format so that the
lower 8 bits are used as type which leaves 24 bits for the argument.
This allows representing values up to 16777215 and debounce times up to
16 seconds.

We also convert the existing users to use 32-bit integer when extracting
argument from the packed configuration value.

 irq 117, desc: ffff88017a61e600, depth: 1, count: 0, unhandled: 0
 ->handle_irq():  ffffffff8109b613, handle_bad_irq+0x0/0x1e0
 ->irq_data.chip(): ffffffffa0020180, chv_pinctrl_exit+0x2d84/0x12 [pinctrl_cherryview]
 ->action():           (null)
    IRQ_NOPROBE set

We reset the mask back to known state in chv_pinctrl_resume() but that is
called only after device interrupts have already been enabled.

Now, this particular issue was fixed by upgrading the BIOS to the latest
(v1.23) but not everybody upgrades their BIOSes so we fix it up in the
driver as well.

Prevent the possible interrupt storm by moving suspend and resume hooks to
be called at _noirq time instead. Since device interrupts are still
disabled we can restore the mask back to known state before interrupt storm
happens.

56211121c0 pinctrl: cherryview: Serialize register access in suspend/resume
If async suspend is enabled, the driver may access registers concurrently
with another instance which may fail because of the bug in Cherryview GPIO
hardware. Prevent this by taking the shared lock while accessing the
hardware in suspend and resume hooks.

47c950d102 pinctrl: cherryview: Do not add all southwest and north GPIOs to IRQ domain
It turns out that for north and southwest communities, they can only
generate GPIO interrupts for lower 8 interrupts (IntSel value). The upper
part (8-15) can only generate GPEs (General Purpose Events).

Now the reason why EC events such as pressing hotkeys does not work if we
mask all the interrupts is that in order to generate either interrupts or
GPEs the INTMASK register must have that particular interrupt unmasked. In
case of GPEs the CPU does not trigger normal interrupt (and thus the GPIO
driver does not see it) but instead it causes SCI (System Control
Interrupt) to be triggered with the GPE in question set.

To make this all work as expected we only add those GPIOs to the IRQ domain
that can actually generate interrupts (IntSel value 0-7) and skip others.

bcb48cca23 pinctrl: cherryview: Do not mask all interrupts in probe
The Cherryview GPIO controller has 8 or 16 wires connected to the I/O-APIC
which can be used directly by the platform/BIOS or drivers. One such wire
is used as SCI (System Control Interrupt) which ACPI depends on to be able
to trigger GPEs (General Purpose Events).

The pinctrl driver itself uses another IRQ resource which is wire OR of all
the 8 (or 16) wires and follows what BIOS has programmed to the IntSel
register of each pin.

Currently the driver masks all interrupts at probe time and this prevents
these direct interrupts from working as expected. The reason for this is
that some early stage prototypes had some pins misconfigured causing lots
of spurious interrupts.

We fix this by leaving the interrupt mask untouched. This allows SCI and
other direct interrupts work properly. What comes to the possible spurious
interrupts we switch the default handler to be handle_bad_irq() instead of
handle_simple_irq() (which was not correct anyway).

77401d7fdf pinctrl: cherryview: add handlers for pin_config_group_get/set
Pin config get/set handlers for pin groups were previously not
implemented by this driver. The pin_config_group_set is

needing to reference each individual pin by name.
