Introduce a new runtime PM function, pm_runtime_get_if_in_use(),
that will increment the device's runtime PM usage counter and
return 1 if its status is RPM_ACTIVE and its usage counter
is greater than 0 at the same time (0 will be returned otherwise).
This is useful for things that should only be done if the device
is active (from the runtime PM perspective) and used by somebody
(as indicated by the usage counter) already and they are not worth
bothering otherwise.

OPP bindings (for few properties) allow a platform to choose a
value/range among a set of available options. The options are present as
opp-<prop>-<name>, where the platform needs to supply the <name> string.
The OPP properties which allow such an option are: opp-microvolt and
opp-microamp.
Add support to the OPP-core to parse these bindings, by introducing
dev_pm_opp_{set|put}_prop_name() APIs.

Drivers which can be built as loadable module needs symbols
- pm_genpd_add_device/pm_genpd_remove_device to add/remove devices
to/from genpd. Those drivers create platform devices, which comes
under a powerdomain.

A runtime PM centric subsystem/driver may typically use the runtime PM
helpers, pm_runtime_force_suspend|resume() in the system PM path. This
means the genpd's runtime PM callbacks might be invoked even when runtime
PM has been disabled for the device.
To properly cope with these and similar scenarios when these helper
functions are used, change genpd to skip validating and measuring the
device PM QOS latency.
This is needed because otherwise genpd may prevent the device to be put
into low power state. If this occurs during system PM, it causes the
sequence to be aborted as a device's system PM callback returns -EBUSY.

Recently genpd removed the requirement of a having a driver bound for its
attached devices to allow genpd to power off. That change should also have
removed a corresponding validation in the governor, let's correct that.

There are two common expectations among several subsystems/drivers that
deploys runtime PM support, but which isn't met by the driver core.
Expectation 1)
At ->probe() the subsystem/driver expects the runtime PM status of the
device to be RPM_SUSPENDED, which is the initial status being assigned at
device registration.
This expectation is especially common among some of those subsystems/
drivers that manages devices with an attached PM domain, as those requires
the ->runtime_resume() callback at the PM domain level to be invoked
during ->probe().
Moreover these subsystems/drivers entirely relies on runtime PM resources
being managed at the PM domain level, thus don't implement their own set
of runtime PM callbacks.
These are two scenarios that suffers from this unmet expectation.
i) A failed ->probe() sequence requests probe deferral:

As there are no guarantees that such sequence turns the runtime PM status
of the device into RPM_SUSPENDED, the re-trying ->probe() may start with
the status in RPM_ACTIVE.
In such case the runtime PM core won't invoke the ->runtime_resume()
callback because of a pm_runtime_get_sync(), as it considers the device to
be already runtime resumed.
ii) A driver re-bind sequence:
At driver unbind, the subsystem/driver's >remove() callback invokes a
sequence of runtime PM APIs, to undo actions during ->probe() and to put
the device into low power state.

Similar as in the failing ->probe() case, this sequence don't guarantee
the runtime PM status of the device to turn into RPM_SUSPENDED.
Trying to re-bind the driver thus causes the same issue as when re-trying
->probe(), in the probe deferral scenario.
Expectation 2)
Drivers that invokes the pm_runtime_irq_safe() API during ->probe(),
triggers the runtime PM core to increase the usage count for the device's
parent and permanently make it runtime resumed.
The usage count is only dropped at device removal, which also allows it to
be runtime suspended again.
A re-trying ->probe() repeats the call to pm_runtime_irq_safe() and thus
once more triggers the usage count of the device's parent to be increased.
This leads to not only an imbalance issue of the usage count of the
device's parent, but also to keep it runtime resumed permanently even if
->probe() fails.
To address these issues, let's change the policy of the driver core to
meet these expectations. More precisely, at ->probe() failures and driver
unbind, restore the initial states of runtime PM.
Although to still allow subsystem's to control PM for devices that doesn't
->probe() successfully, don't restore the initial states unless runtime PM
is disabled.

It is unsafe [1] if probing of devices will happen during suspend or
hibernation and system behavior will be unpredictable in this case.
So, let's prohibit device's probing in dpm_prepare() and defer their
probing instead. The normal behavior will be restored in
dpm_complete().
This patch introduces new DD core APIs:
device_block_probing()
It will disable probing of devices and defer their probes instead.
device_unblock_probing()
It will restore normal behavior and trigger re-probing of deferred
devices.

This patch adds debugfs support to OPP layer to export OPPs and their
properties for all the devices.
This creates a top level directory: /sys/kernel/debug/opp and then
device specific directories (based on device names) inside it. For
example: 'cpu0', 'cpu1', etc..
If multiple devices share the OPP table, then the real directory is
created only for the first device. For all others, links are created to
the real directory.
Inside the device specific directory, a separate directory is created
for each OPP. And within that files per opp property.

dev_opp_list_lock is used everywhere to protect device and OPP lists,
but dev_pm_opp_set_sharing_cpus() is missed somehow. And instead we used
rcu-lock, which wouldn't help here as we are adding a new list_dev.
This also fixes a problem where we have called kzalloc(..., GFP_KERNEL)
from within rcu-lock, which isn't allowed as kzalloc can sleep when
called with GFP_KERNEL.
With CONFIG_DEBUG_ATOMIC_SLEEP set, we get following lockdep-splat:

In preparation for supporting IRQ-safe domains, allocate domain data
outside the domain locks. These functions are not called in an atomic
context, so we can always allocate memory using GFP_KERNEL. By
allocating memory before the locks, we can safely lock the domain using
spinlocks instead of mutexes.

The OPP library is now used for power models to calculate the power
that a device would consume at a specific OPP. To do that, we use a
simple power model which takes frequency and voltage as inputs. We get
the voltage and frequency from the OPP library.
The devfreq cooling device for the thermal framework controls
temperature by disabling OPPs. The power model needs to calculate the
power that would be consumed if we reenabled the OPP. Therefore, let
dev_pm_opp_get_voltage() work for disabled OPPs.

Measure latency does by itself contribute to an increased latency, thus we
should avoid it when it isn't needed.
By merging the latency measurements for the ->save_state() and the
->stop() callbacks, we get one measurement instead of two and we get one
value to store instead of two. Let's also apply the likewise change for
the ->start() and ->restore_state() callbacks.

Measure latency does by itself contribute to an increased latency, thus we
should avoid it when it isn't needed.
Genpd measures latencies in the system PM phase for the ->start|stop()
callbacks and is thus affecting the system PM suspend/resume time.
Moreover these latencies are validated only at runtime PM suspend/resume.
To this reasoning, let's decide to leave these measurements out of the
system PM phase. There should be plenty of occasions during runtime PM to
perform these measurements anyway.

Commit ba2bbfbf63 (PM / Domains: Remove intermediate states from the
power off sequence) changed the power off sequence in genpd. That also
required some updates regarding the validation of latency constraints in
the genpd governor. Unfortunate that wasn't covered, so let's fix this.
From a runtime PM and latency point of view, we need to consider the worst
case scenario while validating latency constraints. That's typically when
a call to pm_runtime_get_sync() needs to wait for a ongoing runtime
suspend operation to be carried out, as it then also needs to wait for the
device to be runtime resumed again.
The above mentioned commit made the genpd governor's ->stop_ok() callback
responsible of validating genpd's device's runtime suspend/resume latency.
In other words, the constraint needs to be validated towards the relevant
latencies present in genpd's ->runtime_suspend|resume() callbacks.
Earlier, that included latencies from the ->stop|start() callbacks, but as
->save|restore_state() are now also being invoked from genpd's
->runtime_suspend|resume() and to comply with the worst case scenario,
let's take also those latencies into account.

There is a concern that if the platform firmware was involved in
the system resume that's being completed, some devices might have
been reset by it and if those devices had the power.direct_complete
flag set during the preceding suspend transition, they may stay
in a reset-power-on state indefinitely (until they are runtime-resumed
and then suspended again). That may not be a big deal from the
individual device's perspective, but if the system is an SoC, it may
be prevented from entering deep SoC-wide low-power states on idle
because of that.
The devices that are most likely to be affected by this issue are
PCI devices and ACPI-enumerated devices using the general ACPI PM
domain, so to prevent it from happening for those devices, force a
runtime resume for them if they have their power.direct_complete
flags set and the platform firmware was involved in the resume
transition currently in progress.

The pm_request_idle() in pm_generic_complete() is pointless as it is
called with the runtime PM usage counter different from zero (bumped
up by the core during the prepare phase of system suspend) and the
core calls pm_runtime_put() for all devices after executing their
complete callbacks, so drop it.
This allows the PCI PM layer to use pm_generic_complete() too.

Once genpd could be configured to be built with CONFIG_PM_RUNTIME unset
(nowadays CONFIG_PM), the pm_genpd_poweron() API served a purpose, since
it allowed users to power on a PM domain.
As such configuration no longer is supported, users shall solely rely on
using some of the runtime PM APIs to power on a PM domain.

Commit ba2bbfbf63 ("PM / Domains: Remove intermediate states..") changed
the power off sequence (pm_genpd_poweroff()), which from locking point of
view means the genpd mutex is held throughout the sequence.
The above change means the in_progress counter can't be updated while
pm_genpd_poweroff() is executing, which allows us to remove the counter.
Instead we inform pm_genpd_poweroff() via a bool parameter, to indicate
whether we call it from the scheduled work or from the ->runtime_suspend()
callback, since that all that matters.

Clock references are on a per-user basis now, so they are not supposed
to be refcounted by itself anymore. Therefore multiple cascaded get and
put calls will fail.
When a clock reference gets passed into pm_clk_add_clk we can assume
that the pm clock handling will take control of the clock reference,
so after this functions returns the caller should've given up control
of that handle.
So remove the additional call to __clk_get() in __pm_clk_add().
The only current user of pm_clk_add_clk is drivers/clk/shmobile/clk-mstp.c
which already follows this paradigm by only getting the clock but not
puting it after passing the reference into pm_clk_add_clk.
In the error case the caller is expected to clean up the clock, as it
may very well try to do something different if pm_clk_add_clk() fails.

The power domains code allows to tie a cpuidle state with a power domain.
Preventing the cpuidle framework to enter a specific idle state by disabling
from the power domain framework is a good idea. Unfortunately, the current
implementation has some gaps with a SMP system and a complex cpuidle
implementation. Enabling a power domain wakes up all the cpus even if a cpu
does not belong to the power domain.
There is some work to do a logical representation with the power domains of
the hardware dependencies (eg. a cpu belongs to a power domains, these power
domains belong to a higher power domain for a cluster, etc ...). A new code
relying on the genpd hierarchy to disable the idle states would make more
sense.
As the unique user of this code has been removed, let's wipe out this code
to prevent new user and to have a clean place to put a new implementation.

of_property_count_u32_elems() will never return 0, but a -ve error value
of a positive count. And so the current !count check is wrong.
Also, a missing "opp-microvolt" property isn't a problem and so we need
to do of_find_property() separately to confirm that.

Add a sysfs attribute, /sys/power/pm_wakeup_irq, reporting the IRQ
number of the first wakeup interrupt (that is, the first interrupt
from an IRQ line armed for system wakeup) seen by the kernel during
the most recent system suspend/resume cycle.
This feature will be useful for system wakeup diagnostics of
spurious wakeup interrupts.

OPP code is expanding and is already present in multiple directories
(cpufreq and power). Lets move it to its own directory, to manage it
better.
This also moves/renames the cpufreq_opp file to cpu.c, as it will
contain helpers for cpu device. Its not just about cpufreq, other
frameworks can use OPPs as well.

We already have a better API to get the opp descriptor block's node from
cpu-node. Lets reuse that instead of creating our own routines for the
same stuff. That cleans the code a lot.
This also kills a check we had earlier (as we are using the generic API
now). Earlier we used to check if the operating-points-v2 property
contained multiple phandles instead of a single phandle.
Killing this check isn't an issue because, we only parse the first entry
with of_parse_phandle(). So, if a user passes multiple phandles, its
really his problem :)

The function pm_genpd_remove_subdomain() removes a subdomain from a
generic PM domain, however, it does not check if the subdomain has any
slave domains or device attached before doing so. Therefore, add a test
to verify that the subdomain does not have any slave domains associated
or any device attached before removing.

While powering up a genpd, its domain masters are first being powered up.
In the error path of __pm_genpd_poweron(), we didn't care to try power off
these domain masters. Let's deal with that to avoid leaving unused PM
domains powered.

_of_init_opp_table_v2() isn't freeing up resources on some errors and
the error values returned are also not correct always.
This fixes following problems:
- Return -ENOENT, if no entries are found in the table.
- Use IS_ERR() to properly check return value of _find_device_opp().
- Return error value with PTR_ERR() in above case.
- Free table if _find_device_opp() fails.

Pull RCU changes from Paul E. McKenney:
- The combination of tree geometry-initialization simplifications
and OS-jitter-reduction changes to expedited grace periods.
These two are stacked due to the large number of conflicts
that would otherwise result.
[ With one addition, a temporary commit to silence a lockdep false
positive. Additional changes to the expedited grace-period
primitives (queued for 4.4) remove the cause of this false
positive, and therefore include a revert of this temporary commit. ]

With "operating-points-v2" its possible to tell which devices share
OPPs. We already have infrastructure to decode that information.
This patch adds following APIs:
- of_get_cpus_sharing_opps: Returns cpumask of CPUs sharing OPPs (only
valid with v2 bindings).
- of_cpumask_init_opp_table: Initializes OPPs for all CPUs present in
cpumask.
- of_cpumask_free_opp_table: Frees OPPs for all CPUs present in cpumask.
- set_cpus_sharing_opps: Sets which CPUs share OPPs (only valid with old
OPP bindings, as this information isn't present in DT).

An opp can be shared by multiple devices, for example its very common
for CPUs to share the OPPs, i.e. when they share clock/voltage rails.
This patch adds support of shared OPPs to the OPP library.
Instead of a single device, dev_opp will now contain a list of devices
that use it. It also senses if the device (we are trying to initialize
OPPs for) shares OPPs with a device added earlier and in that case we
update the list of devices managed by OPPs instead of duplicating OPPs
again.
The same infrastructure will be used for the old OPP bindings, with
later patches.

With "operating-points-v2" bindings, clock-latency is defined per OPP.
Users of this value expect a single value which defines the latency to
switch to any clock rate. Find maximum clock-latency-ns from the OPP
table to service requests from such users.

This adds support in OPP library to parse and create list of OPPs from
operating-points-v2 bindings. It takes care of most of the properties of
new bindings (except shared-opp, which will be handled separately).
For backward compatibility, we keep supporting earlier bindings. We try
to search for the new bindings first, in case they aren't present we
look for the old deprecated ones.
There are few things marked as TODO:
- Support for multiple OPP tables
- Support for multiple regulators
They should be fixed separately.

Later commits would add support for new OPP bindings and this would be
required then. So, lets do it in a separate patch to make it easily
reviewable.
Another change worth noticing is INIT_LIST_HEAD(&opp->node). We weren't
doing it earlier as we never tried to delete a list node before it is
added to list. But this wouldn't be the case anymore. We might try to
delete a node (just to reuse the same code paths), without it being
getting added to the list.

When a device is probed, the function dev_pm_domain_attach() is called
to see if there is a power-domain that is associated with the device and
needs to be turned on. If dev_pm_domain_attach() does not return
-EPROBE_DEFER then the device will be probed.
For devices using genpd, dev_pm_domain_attach() will call
genpd_dev_pm_attach(). If genpd_dev_pm_attach() does not find a power
domain associated with the device then it returns an error code not
equal to -EPROBE_DEFER to allow the device to be probed. However, if
genpd_dev_pm_attach() does find a power-domain that is associated with
the device, then it does not return -EPROBE_DEFER on failure and hence
the device will still be probed. Furthermore, genpd_dev_pm_attach() does
not check the error code returned by pm_genpd_poweron() to see if the
power-domain was turned on successfully.
Fix this by checking the return code from pm_genpd_poweron() and
returning -EPROBE_DEFER from genpd_dev_pm_attach on failure, if there
is a power-domain associated with the device.

Genpd's ->runtime_suspend() (assigned to pm_genpd_runtime_suspend())
doesn't immediately walk the hierarchy of ->runtime_suspend() callbacks.
Instead, pm_genpd_runtime_suspend() calls pm_genpd_poweroff() which
postpones that until *all* the devices in the genpd are runtime suspended.
When pm_genpd_poweroff() discovers that the last device in the genpd is
about to be runtime suspended, it calls __pm_genpd_save_device() for *all*
the devices in the genpd sequentially. Furthermore,
__pm_genpd_save_device() invokes the ->start() callback, walks the
hierarchy of the ->runtime_suspend() callbacks and invokes the ->stop()
callback. This causes a "thundering herd" problem.
Let's address this issue by having pm_genpd_runtime_suspend() immediately
walk the hierarchy of the ->runtime_suspend() callbacks, instead of
postponing that to the power off sequence via pm_genpd_poweroff(). If the
selected ->runtime_suspend() callback doesn't return an error code, call
pm_genpd_poweroff() to see if it's feasible to also power off the PM
domain.
Adopting this change enables us to simplify parts of the code in genpd,
for example the locking mechanism. Additionally, it gives some positive
side effects, as described below.
i)
One device's ->runtime_resume() latency is no longer affected by other
devices' latencies in a genpd.
The complexity genpd has to support the option to abort the power off
sequence suffers from latency issues. More precisely, a device that is
requested to be runtime resumed, may end up waiting for
__pm_genpd_save_device() to complete its operations for *another* device.
That's because pm_genpd_poweroff() can't confirm an abort request while it
waits for __pm_genpd_save_device() to return.
As this patch removes the intermediate states in pm_genpd_poweroff() while
powering off the PM domain, we no longer need the ability to abort that
sequence.
ii)
Make pm_runtime[_status]_suspended() reliable when used with genpd.
Until the last device in a genpd becomes idle, pm_genpd_runtime_suspend()
will return 0 without actually walking the hierarchy of the
->runtime_suspend() callbacks. However, by returning 0 the runtime PM core
considers the device as runtime_suspended, so
pm_runtime[_status]_suspended() will return true, even though the device
isn't (yet) runtime suspended.
After this patch, since pm_genpd_runtime_suspend() immediately walks the
hierarchy of the ->runtime_suspend() callbacks,
pm_runtime[_status]_suspended() will accurately reflect the status of the
device.
iii)
Enable fine-grained PM through runtime PM callbacks in drivers/subsystems.
There are currently cases were drivers/subsystems implements runtime PM
callbacks to deploy fine-grained PM (e.g. gate clocks, move pinctrl to
power-save state, etc.). While using the genpd, pm_genpd_runtime_suspend()
postpones invoking these callbacks until *all* the devices in the genpd
are runtime suspended. In essence, one runtime resumed device prevents
fine-grained PM for other devices within the same genpd.
After this patch, since pm_genpd_runtime_suspend() immediately walks the
hierarchy of the ->runtime_suspend() callbacks, fine-grained PM is enabled
throughout all the levels of runtime PM callbacks.
iiii)
Enable fine-grained PM for IRQ safe devices
Per the definition for an IRQ safe device, its runtime PM callbacks must
be able to execute in atomic context. In the path while genpd walks the
hierarchy of the ->runtime_suspend() callbacks for the device, it uses a
mutex. Therefore, genpd prevents that path to be executed for IRQ safe
devices.
As this patch changes pm_genpd_runtime_suspend() to immediately walk the
hierarchy of the ->runtime_suspend() callbacks and without needing to use
a mutex, fine-grained PM is enabled throughout all the levels of runtime
PM callbacks for IRQ safe devices.
Unfortunately this patch also comes with a drawback, as described in the
summary below.
Driver's/subsystem's runtime PM callbacks may be invoked even when the
genpd hasn't actually powered off the PM domain, potentially introducing
unnecessary latency.
However, in most cases, saving/restoring register contexts for devices are
typically fast operations or can be optimized in device specific ways
(e.g. shadow copies of register contents in memory, device-specific checks
to see if context has been lost before restoring context, etc.).
Still, in some cases the driver/subsystem may suffer from latency if
runtime PM is used in a very fine-grained manner (e.g. for each IO request
or xfer). To prevent that extra overhead, the driver/subsystem may deploy
the runtime PM autosuspend feature.

Typically when a device is created the bus core it belongs to (for example
PCI) does not know if the device supports things like latency tolerance.
This is left to the driver that binds to the device in question. However,
at that time the device has already been created and there is no way to set
its dev->power.set_latency_tolerance anymore.
So follow what has been done for other PM QoS attributes as well and allow
drivers to expose and hide latency tolerance from userspace, if the device
supports it.

Don't unset the direct_complete flag on devices that have runtime PM
disabled, if they are runtime suspended.
This is needed because otherwise ancestor devices wouldn't be able to
do direct_complete without adding runtime PM support to all its
descendants.
Also removes pm_runtime_suspended_if_enabled() because it's now unused.

Static analysis by cppcheck found an issue that was recently introduced by
commit 471f7707b6 ("PM / clock_ops: make __pm_clk_enable more generic")
where a return status in ret was not being initialised and garbage
being returned when ce->status >= PCE_STATUS_ERROR.
The fact that ret is not being checked by the caller and that
ret is only used internally __pm_clk_enable() to check if clk_enable()
was OK means we can ignore returning it instead turn
__pm_clk_enable() into function with a void return.

If dev_pm_attach_wake_irq() fails, the device's power.wakeirq field
should not be set to point to the struct wake_irq passed to that
function, as that object will be freed going forward.
For this reason, make dev_pm_attach_wake_irq() first call
device_wakeup_attach_irq() and only set the device's power.wakeirq
field if that's successful.
That requires device_wakeup_attach_irq() to be called under the
device's power.lock lock, but since dev_pm_attach_wake_irq() is
the only caller of it, the requisite changes are easy to make.

If pm_genpd_{add,remove}_device() keeps on failing with -EAGAIN, we end
up with an infinite loop in genpd_dev_pm_{at,de}tach().
This may happen due to a genpd.prepared_count imbalance. This is a bug
elsewhere, but it will result in a system lock up, possibly during
reboot of an otherwise functioning system.
To avoid this, put a limit on the maximum number of loop iterations,
using an exponential back-off mechanism. If the limit is reached, the
operation will just fail. An error message is already printed.

Currently the con_id of the acquired clock is printed for debugging
purposes. But in several cases, the con_id is NULL, which doesn't
provide much debugging information when printed. These cases are:
- When explicitly passing a NULL con_id (which means the first clock
tied to the device, if available),
- When not using pm_clk_add(), but pm_clk_add_clk() (which takes a
"struct clk *" directly).
Hence print the actual clock name in addition to (and not instead of;
thanks Grygorii Strashko!) the con_id.
Note that the clock name is not available with legacy clock frameworks,
and the hex pointer address will be printed instead.

The PM Domain code uses ktime_get() to perform various latency
measurements. However, if ktime_get() is called while timekeeping is
suspended, the following warning is printed:

This happens when resuming the PM Domain that contains the clock events
source, which calls pm_genpd_syscore_poweron(). Chain of operations is:

genpd_syscore_switch() (i.e. during syscore suspend/resume), and true in
all other cases.

Move the trace_device_pm_callback locations for dpm_prepare and dpm_complete
to encompass the attempt to capture the device mutex prior to callback. This
is needed by analyze_suspend to identify gaps in the trace output caused by
the delay in locking the mutex for a device.

Turns out we can automate the handling for the device_may_wakeup()
quite a bit by using the kernel wakeup source list as suggested
by Rafael J. Wysocki <rjw@rjwysocki.net>.
And as some hardware has separate dedicated wake-up interrupt
in addition to the IO interrupt, we can automate the handling by
adding a generic threaded interrupt handler that just calls the
device PM runtime to wake up the device.
This allows dropping code from device drivers as we currently
are doing it in multiple ways, and often wrong.
For most drivers, we should be able to drop the following
boilerplate code from runtime_suspend and runtime_resume
functions:

If we don't update last_busy in rpm_resume, devices can go back
to sleep immediately after resume. This happens at least in
cases where the device has been powered off and does not have
any interrupt pending until there's something in the FIFO.

In the final iteration of commit 245bd6f6af ("PM / clock_ops: Add
pm_clk_add_clk()"), a refcount increment was added by Grygorii Strashko.
However, the accompanying IS_ERR() check operates on the wrong clock
pointer, which is always zero at this point, i.e. not an error.
This may lead to a NULL pointer dereference later, when __clk_get()
tries to dereference an error pointer.
Check the passed clock pointer instead to fix this.

pm_genpd_remove_device() tries hard to validate the generic PM domain
passed to it, but the validation is not complete.
dev->pm_domain contains a struct dev_pm_domain, which is the "base
class" of generic PM domains. Other users of dev_pm_domains include
stuff like vga_switheroo. Hence, a device could have a generic PM
domain or a vga_switcheroo PM domain in dev->pm_domain.
We need ot be certain that the PM domain is actually valid before we
try to remove it. We can do this easily as we have a way to get the
current validated generic PM domain for a struct device. This must
match the generic PM domain being requested for removal.
Convert the code to use this alternative validation method instead.

The PM domain code contains two methods to get the generic PM domain
for a struct device. One is dev_to_genpd() which is only safe when
we know for certain that the device has a generic PM domain attached.
The other is coded into genpd_dev_pm_detach() which ensures that the
PM domain in the struct device is a generic PM domain (and so is safer).
This commit factors out the safer version, documents it, and hides the
unsafe dev_to_genpd().

PM domains are rather noisy; scheduling behaviour can cause callbacks
to take longer, which causes them to spit out a warning-level message
each time a callback takes a little longer than the previous time.
There really isn't a need for this, except when debugging.

Buses which currently supports attaching devices to their PM domains,
will invoke the dev_pm_domain_attach() API from their ->probe()
callbacks. During the attach procedure, genpd power up the PM domain.
In those scenarios where the bus/driver don't need to access its device
during probe, it may leave it in runtime PM suspended state since
that's also the default state. In that way, no notifications through
the runtime PM callbacks will reach the PM domain during probe.
For genpd, the consequence from the above scenario means the PM domain
will remain powered. Therefore, implement the struct dev_pm_domain's
->sync() callback, which is invoked from driver core after the
bus/driver has probed the device. It allows genpd to power off the PM
domain if it's unused.

Occasionally, the system can't come back up after suspend/resume
due to problems of device suspending phase. This patch make
PM_TRACE infrastructure cover device suspending phase of
suspend/resume process, and the information in RTC can tell
developers which device suspending function make system hang.

Export pm_system_wakeup function to allow irq handlers to deal with system
wakeup.
This is needed for shared IRQ lines where one of the handler is registered
with IRQF_NO_SUSPEND, while the other ones want to configure it as a wakeup
source.
In this specific case, irq core does not handle the wakeup process and
leave the decision to each irq handler.

Clients using the dev_pm_put_subsys_data() API isn't interested of a

The optional genpd's ->attach_dev() callback is invoked from
__pm_genpd_add_device(). Let's add error handling from the response
from this callback and propagate the error code.
When __pm_genpd_add_device() is invoked through the generic OF-based PM
domain look-up path, the device is being probed. Returning an error
will mean the device won't be attached to its PM domain. Errors of
-EPROBE_DEFER get special treatment and is propagated to the driver
core.
Therefore this change also enables the ->attach_dev() callback to
be able to request for a deferred probe sequence.

Move the initialization of the struct generic_pm_domain_data into
genpd_alloc_dev_data(), including the assignment of the device's
->pm_domain() callback. Make corresponding changes to
genpd_free_dev_data().
These changes will make the related code more readable. It will also
decrease the critical regions for where genpd's mutex is being held and
for where the device's power related spinlock is being held.

The error path in __pm_genpd_add_device() didn't decrease the reference
to the struct pm_subsys_data.
Let's move the calls to dev_pm_get|put_subsys_data() into
genpd_alloc|free_dev_data() to fix this issue and thus prevent a
potential memory leakage.

While adding devices to their PM domains, dev_pm_qos_add_notifier() was
invoked while allocating the generic_pm_domain_data for the device.
Since the generic_pm_domain_data's device pointer will be assigned
after allocation, the ->genpd_dev_pm_qos_notifier() callback could be
called prior having a valid pointer to the device. Similar scenario
existed while removing a device from a genpd.
To cope with these scenarios a mutex was used to protect the pointer to
the device.
By re-order the sequence for when dev_pm_qos_add|remove_notifier() are
invoked, we make sure the ->genpd_dev_pm_qos_notifier() callback are
always called with a valid device pointer available.
In this way, we eliminate the need for protecting the pointer and thus
we can remove the mutex from the struct generic_pm_domain_data.

When adding a device to a genpd, we no longer need to walk genpd's list
of existing devices to verify it hasn't already been added.
Instead we can now rely on the verification of not allowing existing
generic_pm_domain_data for a device, since that has the same meaning.

When adding a device to a genpd, a struct generic_pm_domain_data is
allocated per device.
Verify that there are no existing generic_pm_domain_data for the device
we are about to add, since that tells us it has already been added to a
genpd.
When genpd supported PM domain device callbacks, this was a valid
scenario. Now it isn't so let's return an error code.

Add lockdep asserts for holding the RCU lock when calling
dev_pm_opp_get_freq() and dev_pm_opp_get_voltage() to aid in detecting
RCU misuses.
These are called often after dev_pm_opp_find_freq_ceil/exact() which
already asserts for RCU lock. However one could make an error by
releasing lock too early - just after dev_pm_opp_find_freq_ceil().

Not having OPP defined for a device is not a crime, we should not splat
warning in this case. Also, it seems that we are ready to accept invalid
dev (find_device_opp will return ERR_PTR(-EINVAL) then) so let's not
crash in dev_name() in such case.

This function looks up a PM domain form the provider. This will be
useful to add parent/child domain relationship from the SoC specific
code. The caller of the function must make sure that PM domain provider

Somehow one of the instance of freeing resources failed to use kfree_rcu() and
used kfree() instead. This might cause problems as the node might be referenced
by readers under rcu locks and we must wait for the rcu grace period as well.
While we are at it, also update comment over 'struct device_opp' to mention why
we are waiting for both rcu and srcu grace periods.

It's quite common for PM domains to use PM clocks. Typically from SOC
specific code, the per device PM clock list is created and
pm_clk_suspend|resume() are invoked to handle clock gating/ungating.
A step towards consolidation is to integrate PM clock support into
genpd, which is what this patch does.
In this initial step, the calls to the pm_clk_suspend|resume() are
handled within genpd, but the per device PM clock list still needs to
be created from SOC specific code. It seems reasonable to have gendp to
handle that as well, but that left to future patches to address.
It's not every users of genpd that are keen on using PM clocks, thus we
need to provide this a configuration option for genpd. Therefore let's
add flag field in the genpd struct to keep this information and define
a new GENDP_FLAG_PM_CLK bit for it.

This existed before we introduced call_srcu() in opp layer to synchronize with
srcu_notifier_call_chain() while removing OPPs. And is a potential bug which
wasn't noticed earlier.
Let fix it as well by using the right API to free OPP.

OPPs are created statically (from DT) or dynamically. Currently we don't free
OPPs that are created statically, when the module unloads. And so if the module
is inserted back again, we get warning for duplicate OPPs as the same were
already present.
Also, there might be a need to remove dynamic OPPs in future and so API for that
is also added.
This patch adds helper APIs to remove/free existing static and dynamic OPPs.
Because the OPPs are used both under RCU and SRCU, we have to wait for grace
period of both. And so are using kfree_rcu() from within call_srcu().

Static OPPs are the ones created from Device Tree entries and dynamic are the
ones created at runtime by calling dev_pm_opp_add().
There is a need to distinguish them as we need to free static OPPs from cpufreq
drivers when they are removed.
So, add another field 'dynamic' in 'struct dev_pm_opp' to keep this information.

Vast amount of platform drivers which enables runtime PM, don't invoke
a pm_runtime_get_sync() while probing their devices.
Instead, once they have turned on their PM resourses during ->probe()
and are ready to handle I/O, these invokes pm_runtime_set_active() to
synchronize its state towards the runtime PM core.
From the runtime PM point of view this behavior is perfectly acceptable,
but we encounter probe failures if their corresponding devices resides
in the generic PM domain. The issues are observed for those devices,
which requires its PM domain to stay powered during ->probe() since
that's not being controlled.
While using the generic OF-based PM domain look-up, a device's PM
domain will be attached during the probe sequence. For this path, let's
fix the probe failures, by simply power on the PM domain right after
when it's been attached to the device.
The generic PM domain stays powered until all of its devices becomes
runtime PM enabled and runtime PM suspended.
The old SOCs which makes use of the generic PM domain but don't use the
generic OF-based PM domain look-up, will not be affected from this
change.

PM domains are powered on/off from various places. Some callers do
latency measurements, others don't. Consolidate using two helper
functions, which always measure the latencies, and update the stored
latencies when needed.
Other minor changes:
- Use pr_warn() instead of pr_warning(),
- There's no need to check genpd->name, %s handles NULL pointers fine,
- Make the warning format strings identical, to save memory.

The initial state of the device's need_restore flag should'nt depend on
the current state of the PM domain. For example it should be perfectly
valid to attach an inactive device to a powered PM domain.
The pm_genpd_dev_need_restore() API allow us to update the need_restore
flag to somewhat cope with such scenarios. Typically that should have
been done from drivers/buses ->probe() since it's those that put the
requirements on the value of the need_restore flag.
Until recently, the Exynos SOCs were the only user of the
pm_genpd_dev_need_restore() API, though invoking it from a centralized
location while adding devices to their PM domains.
Due to that Exynos now have swithed to the generic OF-based PM domain
look-up, it's no longer possible to invoke the API from a centralized
location. The reason is because devices are now added to their PM
domains during the probe sequence.
Commit "ARM: exynos: Move to generic PM domain DT bindings"
did the switch for Exynos to the generic OF-based PM domain look-up,
but it also removed the call to pm_genpd_dev_need_restore(). This
caused a regression for some of the Exynos drivers.
To handle things more properly in the generic PM domain, let's change
the default initial value of the need_restore flag to reflect that the
state is unknown. As soon as some of the runtime PM callbacks gets
invoked, update the initial value accordingly.
Moreover, since the generic PM domain is verifying that all devices
are both runtime PM enabled and suspended, using pm_runtime_suspended()
while pm_genpd_poweroff() is invoked from the scheduled work, we can be
sure of that the PM domain won't be powering off while having active
devices.
Do note that, the generic PM domain can still only know about active
devices which has been activated through invoking its runtime PM resume
callback. In other words, buses/drivers using pm_runtime_set_active()
during ->probe() will still suffer from a race condition, potentially
probing a device without having its PM domain being powered. That issue
will have to be solved using a different approach.
This a log from the boot regression for Exynos5, which is being fixed in
this patch.

Convert the prototypes to return an int in order to support error
handling in these callbacks.
Also, as suggested by Dmitry Torokhov, pass the domain pointer for use
inside the callbacks, and so that they match the existing
power_on/power_off callbacks which currently take the domain pointer.

so allow __pm_clk_enable() to accept pointer on pm_clock_entry
structure as second parameter instead of pointer on clock and
remove duplicated code.

The existing pm_clk_add() allows to pass a clock by con_id. However,
when referring to a specific clock from DT, no con_id is available.
Add pm_clk_add_clk(), which allows to specify the struct clk * directly.
The will will increment refcount on clock pointer, so the caller has
to use clk_put() on clock pointer when done.

If an asynchronous suspend_late or freeze_late callback fails
during the SUSPEND, FREEZE or QUIESCE phases, we don't propagate the
corresponding error correctly, in effect ignoring the error and
continuing the suspend-to-ram/hibernation. During suspend-to-ram this
could leave some devices without a valid saved context, leading to a
failure to reinitialize them during resume. During hibernation this
could leave some devices active interfeering with the creation /
restoration of the hibernation image. Also this could leave the
corresponding devices without a valid saved context and failure to
reinitialize them during resume.

Unlike the clocks management code for runtime PM, the code used for
system suspend does not check the pm_clock_entry.status field.
If pm_clk_acquire() failed, ce->status will be PCE_STATUS_ERROR, and
ce->clk will be a negative error code (e.g. 0xfffffffe = -2 = -ENOENT).
Depending on the clock implementation, suspend or resume may crash with:
Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000026
(CCF clk_disable() has an IS_ERR_OR_NULL() check, while CCF clk_enable()
only has a NULL check; pre-CCF implementations may behave differently)
While just checking for PCE_STATUS_ERROR would be sufficient, it doesn't
hurt to use the same state machine as is done for runtime PM, as this
makes the two versions more similar, and eligible for a future
consolidation.

The "cpu_data" are defined for some archs and thus conflicting with the
"cpu_data" member in the struct gpd_cpu_data. This causes a compiler
error for those archs.
Let's fix it by rename the member to cpuidle_data. In this context it
also seems appropriate to rename the struct to gpd_cpuidle_data to
better reflect its use.

Subsequent change sets will add platform-related operations between
dpm_suspend_late() and dpm_suspend_noirq() as well as between
dpm_resume_noirq() and dpm_resume_early() in suspend_enter(), so
export these functions for suspend_enter() to be able to call them
separately and split the invocations of dpm_suspend_end() and
dpm_resume_start() in there accordingly.

While a PM domain can enable PM runtime management of its devices' module
clocks by setting
genpd->dev_ops.stop = pm_clk_suspend;
genpd->dev_ops.start = pm_clk_resume;
this also requires registering the clocks with the pm_clk subsystem.
In the legacy case, this is handled by the platform code, after
attaching the device to its PM domain.
When the devices are instantiated from DT, devices are attached to their
PM domains by generic code, leaving no method for the platform-specific
PM domain code to register their clocks.
Add two callbacks, allowing a PM domain to perform platform-specific
tasks when a device is attached to or detached from a PM domain.

Add /sys/kernel/debug/pm_genpd/pm_genpd_summary file, which
lists power domains in the system, their statuses and attached devices,
resembling /sys/kernel/debug/clk/clk_summary.
Currently it is impossible to inspect (from userland) whether
a power domain is on or off. And, if it is on, which device blocks it
from powering down. This change allows developers working on
embedded devices power efficiency to list all necessary information
about generic power domains in one place.
The content of pm_genpd/pm_genpd_summary file is generated by iterating
over all generic power domain in the system, and, for each,
over registered devices and over the subdomains, if present.

To maintain scalability let's add common methods to attach and detach
a PM domain for a device, dev_pm_domain_attach|detach().
Typically dev_pm_domain_attach() shall be invoked from subsystem level
code at the probe phase to try to attach a device to its PM domain.
The reversed actions may be done a the remove phase and then by
invoking dev_pm_domain_detach().
When attachment succeeds, the attach function should assign its
corresponding detach function to a new ->detach() callback added in the
struct dev_pm_domain.

This patch introduces generic code to perform PM domain look-up using
device tree and automatically bind devices to their PM domains.
Generic device tree bindings are introduced to specify PM domains of
devices in their device tree nodes.
Backwards compatibility with legacy Samsung-specific PM domain bindings
is provided, but for now the new code is not compiled when
CONFIG_ARCH_EXYNOS is selected to avoid collision with legacy code.
This will change as soon as the Exynos PM domain code gets converted to
use the generic framework in further patch.

The genpd dev_irq_safe configuration somewhat overlaps with the runtime
PM pm_runtime_irq_safe() option. Also, currently genpd don't have a
good way to deal with these device. So, until we figured out if and how
to support this in genpd, let's remove the option to configure it.

It sometimes may be necessary to abort a system suspend in
progress or wake up the system from suspend-to-idle even if the
pm_wakeup_event()/pm_stay_awake() mechanism is not enabled.
For this purpose, introduce a new global variable pm_abort_suspend
and make pm_wakeup_pending() check its value. Also add routines
for manipulating that variable.

Adds two trace events which supply the same info that initcall_debug
provides, but via ftrace instead of dmesg. The existing initcall_debug
calls require the pm_print_times_enabled var to be set (either via
sysfs or via the kernel cmd line). The new trace events provide all the
same info as the initcall_debug prints but with less overhead, and also
with coverage of device prepare and complete device callbacks.
These events replace the device_pm_report_time event (which has been
removed). device_pm_callback_start is called first and provides the device
and callback info. device_pm_callback_end is called after with the
device name and error info. The time and pid are gathered from the trace
data headers.

Adds trace events that give finer resolution into suspend/resume. These
events are graphed in the timelines generated by the analyze_suspend.py
script. They represent large areas of time consumed that are typical to
suspend and resume.
The event is triggered by calling the function "trace_suspend_resume"
with three arguments: a string (the name of the event to be displayed
in the timeline), an integer (case specific number, such as the power
state or cpu number), and a boolean (where true is used to denote the start
of the timeline event, and false to denote the end).
The suspend_resume trace event reproduces the data that the machine_suspend
trace event did, so the latter has been removed.

However, enabling this feature requires cooperation from the bus type
layer and for now it has only been implemented for the ACPI PM domain
(used by ACPI-enumerated platform devices mostly today).
Also, the acpidump utility that was previously shipped as a separate
tool will now be provided by the upstream ACPICA along with the rest
of ACPICA code, which will allow it to be more up to date and better
supported, and we have one new cpuidle driver (ARM clps711x).
The rest is improvements related to certain specific use cases,
cleanups and fixes all over the place.

- ACPICA update to upstream version 20140424. That includes a number
of fixes and improvements related to things like GPE handling,
table loading, headers, memory mapping and unmapping, DSDT/SSDT

We don't have any protection against addition of duplicate OPPs currently and in
case some code tries to add them, it will end up corrupting OPP tables.
We need to handle some duplication cases separately as returning error might not
be the right thing always. The new list of return values for dev_pm_opp_add()
are:
0: On success OR
Duplicate OPPs (both freq and volt are same) and opp->available
-EEXIST: Freq are same and volt are different OR
Duplicate OPPs (both freq and volt are same) and !opp->available
-ENOMEM: Memory allocation failure

In of_init_opp_table function, if a failure to add an OPP is
detected, the count of OPPs, yet to be added is not updated.
Fix this by decrementing this count on failure as well.

Currently, some subsystems (e.g. PCI and the ACPI PM domain) have to
resume all runtime-suspended devices during system suspend, mostly
because those devices may need to be reprogrammed due to different
wakeup settings for system sleep and for runtime PM.
For some devices, though, it's OK to remain in runtime suspend
throughout a complete system suspend/resume cycle (if the device was in
runtime suspend at the start of the cycle). We would like to do this
whenever possible, to avoid the overhead of extra power-up and power-down
events.
However, problems may arise because the device's descendants may require
it to be at full power at various points during the cycle. Therefore the
most straightforward way to do this safely is if the device and all its
descendants can remain runtime suspended until the complete stage of
system resume.
To this end, introduce a new device PM flag, power.direct_complete
and modify the PM core to use that flag as follows.
If the ->prepare() callback of a device returns a positive number,
the PM core will regard that as an indication that it may leave the
device runtime-suspended. It will then check if the system power
transition in progress is a suspend (and not hibernation in particular)
and if the device is, indeed, runtime-suspended. In that case, the PM
core will set the device's power.direct_complete flag. Otherwise it
will clear power.direct_complete for the device and it also will later
clear it for the device's parent (if there's one).
Next, the PM core will not invoke the ->suspend() ->suspend_late(),
->suspend_irq(), ->resume_irq(), ->resume_early(), or ->resume()
callbacks for all devices having power.direct_complete set. It
will invoke their ->complete() callbacks, however, and those
callbacks are then responsible for resuming the devices as
appropriate, if necessary. For example, in some cases they may
need to queue up runtime resume requests for the devices using
pm_request_resume().

CPUFreq specific helper functions for OPP (Operating Performance Points)
now use generic OPP functions that allow CPUFreq to be be moved back
into CPUFreq framework. This allows for independent modifications
or future enhancements as needed isolated to just CPUFreq framework
alone.
Here, we just move relevant code and documentation to make this part of
CPUFreq infrastructure.

CPUFREQ custom functions for OPP (Operating Performance Points)
currently exist inside the OPP library. These custom functions currently
depend on internal data structures to pick up OPP information to create
the cpufreq table. For example, the cpufreq table is created precisely
in the same order of how OPP entries are stored inside the list implementation.
This kind of tight interdependency is purely artificial since the same
functionality can be achieved using the generic OPP functions
meant to do the same. This interdependency also limits the independent
modification of cpufreq and OPP library.
So use the generic dev_pm_opp_find_freq_ceil function that achieves the
table organization as we currently use.
As a result of this, we dont need to use the internal device_opp
structure anymore, and we hence we can switch over to rcu lock instead
of the mutex holding the internal list lock.
This breaking of dependency on internal data structure imposes no change
to usage of these.
NOTE: This change is a precursor to moving this cpufreq specific logic
out of the generic library into cpufreq.

This patch adds cpufreq suspend/resume calls to dpm_{suspend|resume}()
for handling suspend/resume of cpufreq governors.
Lan Tianyu (Intel) & Jinhyuk Choi (Broadcom) found an issue where the
tunables configuration for clusters/sockets with non-boot CPUs was
lost after system suspend/resume, as we were notifying governors with
CPUFREQ_GOV_POLICY_EXIT on removal of the last CPU for that policy
which caused the tunables memory to be freed.
This is fixed by preventing any governor operations from being
carried out between the device suspend and device resume stages of
system suspend and resume, respectively.
We could have added these callbacks at dpm_{suspend|resume}_noirq()
level, but there is an additional problem that the majority of I/O
devices is already suspended at that point and if cpufreq drivers
want to change the frequency before suspending, then that not be
possible on some platforms (which depend on peripherals like i2c,
regulators, etc).

This patch provides two new runtime PM helper functions which intend to
be used from system suspend/resume callbacks, to make sure devices are
put into low power state during system suspend and brought back to full
power at system resume.
The prerequisite is to have all levels of a device's runtime PM
callbacks to be defined through the SET_PM_RUNTIME_PM_OPS macro, which
means these are available for CONFIG_PM.
By using the new runtime PM helper functions especially the two
scenarios below will be addressed.
1) The PM core prevents .runtime_suspend callbacks from being invoked
during system suspend. That means even for a runtime PM centric
subsystem and driver, the device needs to be put into low power state
from a system suspend callback. Otherwise it may very well be left in
full power state (runtime resumed) while the system is suspended. By
using the new helper functions, we make sure to walk the hierarchy of
a device's power domain, subsystem and driver.
2) Subsystems and drivers need to cope with all the combinations of
CONFIG_PM_SLEEP and CONFIG_PM_RUNTIME. The two new helper functions
smothly addresses this.

While fetching the proper runtime PM callback, we walk the hierarchy of
device's power domains, subsystems and drivers.
This is common for rpm_suspend(), rpm_idle() and rpm_resume(). Let's
clean up the code by using a macro that handles this.

If devices don't provide latency data, this warning can be quite noisy until
the pm domain was enabled and disabled a few times. Turn this warning into
a debug message.

One typical case is:
In resume_noirq phase and for the PCI devices, the function
pci_pm_resume_noirq() will be called, and there is one d3_delay
(10ms) at least.
With the way of asynchronous threads, we just need wait d3_delay
time once in parallel for each calling, which saves much time to
resume quickly.

None of these files are actually using any __init type directives
and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a
left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to
code getting copied from one driver to the next.

Rework dev_pm_qos_add_ancestor_request() so that device PM QoS type
is passed to it as the third argument and make it support the
DEV_PM_QOS_LATENCY_TOLERANCE device PM QoS type (in addition to
DEV_PM_QOS_RESUME_LATENCY).
That will allow the drivers of devices without latency tolerance
hardware support to use their ancestors having it as proxies for
their latency tolerance requirements.

Add a new latency tolerance device PM QoS type to be use for
specifying active state (RPM_ACTIVE) memory access (DMA) latency
tolerance requirements for devices. It may be used to prevent
hardware from choosing overly aggressive energy-saving operation
modes (causing too much latency to appear) for the whole platform.
This feature reqiures hardware support, so it only will be
available for devices having a new .set_latency_tolerance()
callback in struct dev_pm_info populated, in which case the
routine pointed to by it should implement whatever is necessary
to transfer the effective requirement value to the hardware.
Whenever the effective latency tolerance changes for the device,
its .set_latency_tolerance() callback will be executed and the
effective value will be passed to it. If that value is negative,
which means that the list of latency tolerance requirements for
the device is empty, the callback is expected to switch the
underlying hardware latency tolerance control mechanism to an
autonomous mode if available. If that value is PM_QOS_LATENCY_ANY,
in turn, and the hardware supports a special "no requirement"
setting, the callback is expected to use it. That allows software
to prevent the hardware from automatically updating the device's
latency tolerance in response to its power state changes (e.g. during
transitions from D3cold to D0), which generally may be done in the
autonomous latency tolerance control mode.
If .set_latency_tolerance() is present for the device, a new
pm_qos_latency_tolerance_us attribute will be present in the
devivce's power directory in sysfs. Then, user space can use
that attribute to specify its latency tolerance requirement for
the device, if any. Writing "any" to it means "no requirement, but
do not let the hardware control latency tolerance" and writing
"auto" to it allows the hardware to be switched to the autonomous
mode if there are no other requirements from the kernel side in the
device's list.

Add a new field, no_constraints_value, to struct pm_qos_constraints
representing a list of PM QoS constraint requests to be returned by
pm_qos_get_value() when that list of requests is empty.
That field will be equal to default_value for all of the existing
global PM QoS classes and for the resume latency device PM QoS type,
but it will be different from default_value for the new latency
tolerance device PM QoS type introduced by the next changeset.

Rename symbols, variables, functions and structure fields related do
the resume latency device PM QoS type so that it is clear where they
belong (in particular, to avoid confusion with the latency tolerance
device PM QoS type introduced by a subsequent changeset).
Update the PM QoS documentation to better reflect its current state.

The clk_enable() call in the pm_clk_resume() call returns an error
that is not being checked. If clk_enable() fails then we should
not set the state of the clock to PCE_STATUS_ENABLED.
Note, the issue of warning the user if this fails has not been
addressed in this patch as this is not the only place the driver
calls clk_enable().

The drivers/base/power/clock_ops.c file is causing warnings from
the clock driver (as shown below) due to failing to do a clk_prepare()
call before enabling a clock. It also fails to check the balance of
prepare/unprepare as __pm_clk_remove() do clk_disable_unprepare() call.
This bug has probably been in since commit b2476490e ("clk: introduce
the common clock framework") as the warning was part of the original
commit. It is strange that it has not been noticed (although this has
also been coupled with a failure for certain SH builds to not build the
necessary glue to use this method of controlling the clocks).
In summary, this is probably needed in several stable branches but need
advice on which ones.
On the Renesas Lager board, this causes numerous warnings of the following
and even worse the clock system will not enable clocks, causing drivers
that are in development to fail to work:

The pm_generic_runtime_suspend|resume functions were implemented within
CONFIG_PM_RUNTIME.
As we also may use runtime PM callbacks during system suspend, to put
devices into low power state, we need to move the implementation of
pm_generic_runtime_suspend|resume to CONFIG_PM.
This change gives a power domain provision to invoke a platform
driver's runtime PM callback from a power domain's system PM callback.
This were earlier prevented by the platform bus, since it uses the
pm_generic_runtime_suspend|resume functions as runtime PM callbacks.
