Prior to this commit there were 3 issues with our handling of the TS-pin:
1) There are 2 ways how the firmware can disable monitoring of the TS-pin
for designs which do not have a temperature-sensor for the battery:
a) Clearing bit 0 of the AXP20X_ADC_EN1 register
b) Setting bit 2 of the AXP288_ADC_TS_PIN_CTRL monitoring
Prior to this commit we were unconditionally setting both bits to the
value used on devices with a TS. This causes the temperature protection to
kick in on devices without a TS, such as the Jumper ezbook v2, causing
them to not charge under Linux.
This commit fixes this by using regmap_update_bits when updating these 2
registers, leaving the 2 mentioned bits alone.
The next 2 problems are related to our handling of the current-source
for the TS-pin. The current-source used for the battery temp-sensor (TS)
is shared with the GPADC. For proper fuel-gauge and charger operation the
TS current-source needs to be permanently on. But to read the GPADC we
need to temporary switch the TS current-source to ondemand, so that the
GPADC can use it, otherwise we will always read an all 0 value.
2) Problem 2 is we were writing hardcoded values to the ADC TS pin-ctrl
register, overwriting various other unrelated bits. Specifically we were
overwriting the current-source setting for the TS and GPIO0 pins, forcing
it to 80ųA independent of its original setting. On a Chuwi Vi10 tablet
this was causing us to get a too high adc value (due to a too high
current-source) resulting in the following errors being logged:
ACPI Error: AE_ERROR, Returned by Handler for [UserDefinedRegion]
ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed \_SB.SXP1._TMP, AE_ERROR
This commit fixes this by using regmap_update_bits to change only the
relevant bits.
3) After reading the GPADC channel we were unconditionally enabling the
TS current-source even on devices where the TS-pin is not used and the
current-source thus was off before axp288_adc_read_raw call.
This commit fixes this by making axp288_adc_set_ts a nop on devices where
the ADC is not enabled for the TS-pin.

The GPIO core provides a handy GPIO_LOOKUP() macro to populate a struct
gpiod_lookup array without having to spell out attribute names (but
still avoid breakage when attributes within the struct are rearranged
or added).
The axp288_adc.c driver uses a similar macro to populate a struct
iio_map array. Make it available to others.

I noticed in its DSDT that one of my tablets actually is using the GPADC
pin for temperature monitoring.
The whole axp288_adc_set_ts() function is a bit weird, in the past it was
removed because it seems to make no sense, then this was reverted because
of regressions.
So I decided to test the special GPADC pin handling on this tablet.
Conclusion: not only is axp288_adc_set_ts() necessary, we need to sleep a
bit after making the AXP288_ADC_TS_PIN_CTRL changes before sampling the
GPADC, otherwise it will often (about 80% of the time) read 0 instead of
its actual value.
It seems that there is only 1 bias current source and to be able to use it
for the GPIO0 pin in GPADC mode it must be temporarily turned off for the
TS pin, but the datasheet does not mention this.
This commit adds a sleep after disabling the TS pin bias current,
fixing the GPADC more often then not wrongly returning 0.

Inheriting the ADC BIAS current settings from the BIOS instead of
hardcoding then causes the AXP288 to disable charging (I think it
mis-detects an overheated battery) on at least one model tablet.
So lets go back to hard coding the values, this reverts
commit fa2849e964 ("iio: adc: axp288: Drop bogus
AXP288_ADC_TS_PIN_CTRL register modifications"), fixing charging not
working on the model tablet in question.
The exact cause is not fully understood, hence the revert to a known working
state.

For some reason the axp288_adc driver was modifying the
AXP288_ADC_TS_PIN_CTRL register, changing bits 0-1 depending on
whether the GP_ADC channel or another channel was written.
These bits control when a bias current is send to the TS_PIN, the
GP_ADC has its own pin and a separate bit in another register to
control the bias current.
Not only does changing when to enable the TS_PIN bias current
(always or only when sampling) when reading the GP_ADC make no sense
at all, the code is modifying these bits is writing the entire register,
assuming that all the other bits have their default value.
So if the firmware has configured a different bias-current for either
pin, then that change gets clobbered by the write, likewise if the
firmware has set bit 2 to indicate that the battery has no thermal sensor,
this will get clobbered by the write.
This commit fixes all this, by simply removing all writes to the
AXP288_ADC_TS_PIN_CTRL register, they are not needed to read the
GP_ADC pin, and can actually be harmful.

Commit 65de7654d3 ("iio: iio: Fix iio_channel_read return if
channel havn't info") added a check for valid info masks.
This patch adds missing channel info masks for all ADC channels.
Otherwise, iio_read_channel_raw() would return -EINVAL when called
by consumer drivers.
Note that the change of _processed to _raw actually fixes an ABI abuse
in the original driver where it was used to avoid some special handling
rather than because it was correct.

Platform driver for X-Powers AXP288 ADC, which is a sub-device of the
customized AXP288 PMIC for Intel Baytrail-CR platforms. GPADC device
enumerates as one of the MFD cell devices. It uses IIO infrastructure
to communicate with userspace and consumer drivers.
Usages of ADC channels include battery charging and thermal sensors.
