4f65245f2d HID: hiddev: fix potential Spectre v1
uref->field_index, uref->usage_index, finfo.field_index and cinfo.index can be
indirectly controlled by user-space, hence leading to a potential exploitation
of the Spectre variant 1 vulnerability.

This issue was detected with the help of Smatch:

Fix this by sanitizing such structure fields before using them to index
report->field, field->usage and hid->collection

Notice that given that speculation windows are large, the policy is
to kill the speculation on the first load and not worry if it can be
completed with a dependent load/store [1].

ef6eaf2727 HID: i2c-hid: Fix "incomplete report" noise
Commit ac75a04104 ("HID: i2c-hid: fix size check and type usage") started
writing messages when the ret_size is <= 2 from i2c_master_recv.  However, my
device i2c-DLL07D1 returns 2 for a short period of time (~0.5s) after I stop
moving the pointing stick or touchpad.  It varies, but you get ~50 messages
each time which spams the log hard.

This has also been observed with a i2c-ALP0017.

Only print the message when ret_size is totally invalid and less than 2 to cut
down on the log spam.

3b8d573586 HID: wacom: Correct touch maximum XY of 2nd-gen Intuos
The touch sensors on the 2nd-gen Intuos tablets don't use a 4096x4096
sensor like other similar tablets (3rd-gen Bamboo, Intuos5, etc.).
The incorrect maximum XY values don't normally affect userspace since
touch input from these devices is typically relative rather than
absolute. It does, however, cause problems when absolute distances
need to be measured, e.g. for gesture recognition. Since the resolution
of the touch sensor on these devices is 10 units / mm (versus 100 for
the pen sensor), the proper maximum values can be calculated by simply
dividing by 10.

578325120e HID: wacom: Move handling of HID quirks into a dedicated function
We want to keep device-specific quirks as contained as possible so that the
the code remains maintainable. Our 'wacom_setup_device_quirks' function is
the usual place for this, but some quirks need to be applied to the HID
descriptor as it is parsed. This commit introduces a new function which is
called for each usage so that any HID-specific quirks can be applied. The
function now houses quirks that were being done in 'wacom_feature_mapping'
and 'wacom_usage_mapping'.

29b9e14846 HID: wacom: Replace touch_max fixup code with static touch_max definitions
Detecting the number of supported touches for a particular device used
to be tricky, both because early forms of the driver didn't have a very
good HID parser and because early hardware didn't always advertise the
actual number. At the time, we added a block of code which would ensure
that touch_max would always be equal to at least 1 on any touch device,
and relied on setting touch_max to e.g. 2 only for the multitouch-capable
exceptions.

The common case has since flipped, and the driver and descriptors can
reliably detect the number of touches supported by modern sensors.
Because of this, it makes sense to remove the fixup code and instead
place static declarations of "touch_max = 1" for these old devices. It
isn't entirely clear if all 2-finger devices actually report a maximum
number of touches so we leave these declarations still in place.

For the eagle-eyed, the "> BAMBOO_PT" condition was originally equivalent
to ">= TABLETPC", which is what the intent was. This commit doesn't have
to consider the types introduced in the interim since they shouldn't be
affected, hence why only the tablet PC definitions have been modified.

8f732850df HID: core: allow concurrent registration of drivers
Detected on the Dell XPS 9365.

The laptop has 2 devices that benefit from the hid-generic auto-unbinding.
When those 2 devices are presented to the userspace, udev loads both wacom and
hid-multitouch. When this happens, the code in __hid_bus_reprobe_drivers() is
called concurrently and the second device gets reprobed twice.

An other bug in the power_supply subsystem prevent to remove the wacom driver
if it just finished its initialization, which basically kills the wacom node.

d4bdf2d2ba HID: wiimote: add support for Guitar-Hero devices
This adds the drums and guitar extensions for Wiimote devices.

Devices are reported as "Nintendo Wii Remote Guitar/Drums". If I ever
get my hands on "RockBand" guitars, I will try to report them via the
same interface so user-space does not have to bother which device it
deals with.

This is a rebase of the original commits 8e22ecb603 and 73f8645db1.
They were reverted several years ago, since they were dependent on the
ABS_* rework of the input core. Sadly, this never worked out so these
commits were never pushed into a release. This rebase now uses the
ABS_HAT* event codes to report all pressure information.

f49255e00c HID: usbhid: use irqsave() in USB's complete callback
The USB completion callback does not disable interrupts while acquiring
the ->lock. We want to remove the local_irq_disable() invocation from
__usb_hcd_giveback_urb() and therefore it is required for the callback
handler to disable the interrupts while acquiring the lock.
The callback may be invoked either in IRQ or BH context depending on the
USB host controller.
Use the _irqsave() variant of the locking primitives.

dc9b8e85ed HID: redragon: fix num lock and caps lock LEDs
The redragon asura keyboard registers two input devices. The initial commit
85455dd906 ("HID: redragon: Fix modifier keys for Redragon Asura Keyboard")
considered this an error and prevented one of the devices from registering.
However, once this is done the num lock and caps lock leds no longer toggle on
and off, although the key functionality is not affected.

This commit removes the code that prevents the input device
registration and restores the num lock and caps lock LEDs.

6136f97cd2 HID: i2c-hid: Add vddl regulator control
Some wacom w9013 devices have a vddl supply for "low valtage"
requirements. Add support in this driver to turn on this low voltage
supply. We can also drop a handful of error messages because the
regulator core is already printing an error when bulk regulators fail to
enable or disable.

d471b6b22d HID: wacom: Correct logical maximum Y for 2nd-gen Intuos Pro large
The HID descriptor for the 2nd-gen Intuos Pro large (PTH-860) contains
a typo which defines an incorrect logical maximum Y value. This causes
a small portion of the bottom of the tablet to become unusable (both
because the area is below the "bottom" of the tablet and because
'wacom_wac_event' ignores out-of-range values). It also results in a
skewed aspect ratio.

To fix this, we add a quirk to 'wacom_usage_mapping' which overwrites
the data with the correct value.

ebeaa36754 HID: intel_ish-hid: ipc: register more pm callbacks to support hibernation
Current ISH driver only registers suspend/resume PM callbacks which don't
support hibernation (suspend to disk). Basically after hiberation, the ISH
can't resume properly and user may not see sensor events (for example: screen
		rotation may not work).

User will not see a crash or panic or anything except the following message
in log:

	hid-sensor-hub 001F:8086:22D8.0001: timeout waiting for response from ISHTP device

So this patch adds support for S4/hiberbation to ISH by using the
SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS() MACRO instead of struct dev_pm_ops directly. The suspend
and resume functions will now be used for both suspend to RAM and hibernation.

If power management is disabled, SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS will do nothing, the suspend
and resume related functions won't be used, so mark them as __maybe_unused to
clarify that this is the intended behavior, and remove #ifdefs for power
management.

4bff980f92 HID: steam: use hid_device.driver_data instead of hid_set_drvdata()
When creating the low-level hidraw device, the reference to steam_device
was stored using hid_set_drvdata(). But this value is not guaranteed to
be kept when set before calling probe. If this pointer is reset, it
crashes when opening the emulated hidraw device.

It looks like hid_set_drvdata() is for users "avobe" this hid_device,
while hid_device.driver_data it for users "below" this one.

In this case, we are creating a virtual hidraw device, so we must use
hid_device.driver_data.

The devm_kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, devm_kcalloc().
This patch replaces cases of:

        devm_kzalloc(handle, a * b, gfp)

with:
        devm_kcalloc(handle, a * b, gfp)

as well as handling cases of:

        devm_kzalloc(handle, a * b * c, gfp)

with:

        devm_kzalloc(handle, array3_size(a, b, c), gfp)

as it's slightly less ugly than:

        devm_kcalloc(handle, array_size(a, b), c, gfp)

This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like:

        devm_kzalloc(handle, 4 * 1024, gfp)

though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion.

Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were
dropped, since they're redundant.

Some manual whitespace fixes were needed in this patch, as Coccinelle
really liked to write "=devm_kcalloc..." instead of "= devm_kcalloc...".

6396bb2215 treewide: kzalloc() -> kcalloc()
The kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kcalloc(). This
patch replaces cases of:

        kzalloc(a * b, gfp)

with:
        kcalloc(a * b, gfp)

as well as handling cases of:

        kzalloc(a * b * c, gfp)

with:

        kzalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp)

as it's slightly less ugly than:

        kzalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp)

This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like:

        kzalloc(4 * 1024, gfp)

though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion.

Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were
dropped, since they're redundant.

The Coccinelle script used for this was:

c94ba06011 HID: rmi: use HID_QUIRK_NO_INPUT_SYNC
When we receive a RMI4 report, we should not unconditionally send an
input_sync event. Instead, we should let the rmi4 transport layer do it
for us.

This fixes a situation where we might receive X in a report and the rest
in a subsequent one. And this messes up user space.

abb36fe691 HID: multitouch: fix calculation of last slot field in multi-touch reports
According to [1] and also seemingly agreed by [2], the Scan Time usage
(0x0D 0x56) is a report level usage, not a contact level usage.

However, the hid-multitouch driver currently includes HID_DG_SCANTIME
when calculating `td->last_slot_field', which may lead to
mt_complete_slot() being prematurely called in certain cases (e.g. when
each touch input report includes more than one contact and the Scan Time
usage appears before any contact logical collection).

This patch fixes the issue by skipping mt_store_field() on
HID_DG_SCANTIME, similar to how HID_DG_CONTACTCOUNT and
HID_DG_CONTACTMAX are handled.

66be621f4b HID: quirks: remove Delcom Visual Signal Indicator from hid_have_special_driver[]
Delcom offers different types of products sharing the same USB VID/PID
as the Visual Signal Indicator. Other products need to be handled by
HID Generic what's not possible currently because USB VID/PID are
listed in hid_have_special_driver[].

After e04a0442d3 ("HID: core: remove the absolute need of
hid_have_special_driver[]") we can now remove the Delcom entry.

If a Visual Signal Indicator device is plugged-in, HID core
will start a reprobe if hid-led driver is available.
If another device with same USB VID/PID is plugged-in, then hid-led
can be blacklisted and HID Generic handles the device.

8947b0cfdc HID: wacom: Support "in range" for Intuos/Bamboo tablets where possible
The 1st-generation Intuos tablets (CTL-X80) include an "in range" flag
like some professional tablets. To ensure the pen remains usable at as
large as distance as possible (and to preemptively disable touch when
it is nearby) we need to ensure that we handle these "in range" events.
Handling of tool type identification has been moved to occur only when
the pen is fully in prox rather than any time the "stylus_in_proximity"
flag changes (which is controlled by the further-out "in range" flag).

b3a81b6c4f HID: i2c-hid: check if device is there before really probing
On many Chromebooks touch devices are multi-sourced; the components are
electrically compatible and one can be freely swapped for another without
changing the OS image or firmware.

To avoid bunch of scary messages when device is not actually present in the
system let's try testing basic communication with it and if there is no
response terminate probe early with -ENXIO.

c164d6abf3 HID: add driver for Valve Steam Controller
There are two ways to connect the Steam Controller: directly to the USB
or with the USB wireless adapter.  Both methods are similar, but the
wireless adapter can connect up to 4 devices at the same time.

The wired device will appear as 3 interfaces: a virtual mouse, a virtual
keyboard and a custom HID device.

The wireless device will appear as 5 interfaces: a virtual keyboard and
4 custom HID devices, that will remain silent until a device is actually
connected.

The custom HID device has a report descriptor with all vendor specific
usages, so the hid-generic is not very useful. In a PC/SteamBox Valve
Steam Client provices a software translation by using hidraw and a
creates a uinput virtual gamepad and XTest keyboard/mouse.

This driver intercepts the hidraw usage, so it can get out of the way
when the Steam Client is in use.

The Win8 spec also declare other features we want to support:
latency and surface and button switches.

Though it doesn't seem we need to activate those by default, we have been
proved in the past that manufacturers rely on the Windows driver behavior
so we better mimic it to prevent further issues.

The current way of setting the features is cumbersome. It avoids iterating
over the list of features, but the way we store/retrieve the data just
doesn't scale with more than two values.

So iterate over the features when we decide to switch on the device and
make it simpler to extend.

40ec260363 HID: multitouch: make use of HID_QUIRK_INPUT_PER_APP
We now have HID_QUIRK_INPUT_PER_APPLICATION that splits the devices
into several devices. This helps us as we can now rely on hid-input
to set the names for us.

Also, this helps removing some magical numbers '0' when calling
.input_configured().

The only thing to take care of is that the field .report in struct
hid_input is now null. We need to iterate over the full list of
reports attached to a hid_input.

This is required for some Advanced Silicon touchscreen to correctly apply
the HID_QUIRK_INPUT_PER_APPLICATION as they have 2 reports associated
with the hidinput node. One contains the Input data, the other one
contains the Output data.

f07b3c1da9 HID: generic: create one input report per application type
It is not a good idea to try to fit all types of applications in the
same input report. There are a lot of devices that are needing
the quirk HID_MULTI_INPUT but this quirk doesn't match the actual HID
description as it is based on the report ID.

Given that most devices with MULTI_INPUT I can think of split nicely
the devices inputs into application, it is a good thing to split the
devices by default based on this assumption.

Also make hid-multitouch following this rule, to not have to deal
with too many input created.

While we are at it, fix some checkpatch complaints about converting
'unsigned' to 'unsigned int'.

We were only storing the report in case of QUIRK_MULTI_INPUT.
It is interesting for the upcoming  HID_QUIRK_INPUT_PER_APP to also
store the full list of reports that are attached to it.

We need the full list because a device (Advanced Silicon has some)
might want to use a different report ID for the Input reports and
the Output reports. Storing the full list allows the drivers to
have all the data.

190d7f02ce HID: input: do not increment usages when a duplicate is found
This is something that bothered us from a long time. When hid-input
doesn't know how to map a usage, it uses *_MISC. But there is something
else which increments the usage if the evdev code is already used.

This leads to few issues:
- some devices may have their ABS_X mapped to ABS_Y if they export a bad
  set of usages (see the DragonRise joysticks IIRC -> fixed in a specific
  HID driver)
- *_MISC + N might (will) conflict with other defined axes (my Logitech
  H800 exports some multitouch axes because of that)
- this prevents to freely add some new evdev usages, because "hey, my
  headset will now report ABS_COFFEE, and it's not coffee capable".

So let's try to kill this nonsense, and hope we won't break too many
devices.

I my headset case, the ABS_MISC axes are created because of some
proprietary usages, so we might not break that many devices.

For backward compatibility, a quirk HID_QUIRK_INCREMENT_USAGE_ON_DUPLICATE
is created and can be applied to any device that needs this behavior.

2dcc8197fe HID: i2c-hid: Silently fail probe for CHPN0001 touchscreen
The CHPN0001 ACPI device has a _CID of PNP0C50 and even has the _DSM to
get the HID descriptor address, but it is not a HID device at all.

It uses its own protocol which is handled by the (still being upstreamed)
chipone_icn8505 driver. I guess the _CID and the _DSM are the result of
a copy and paste job when the vendor was building the ACPI tables.

Before this patch the i2c_hid_driver's probe function will fail with a
"hid_descr_cmd failed" error.

This commit makes the i2c_hid_driver's probe function instead silently
ignored devices with an ACPI id of CHPN0001.

3e83eda467 HID: i2c-hid: Fix resume issue on Raydium touchscreen device
When Rayd touchscreen resumed from S3, it issues too many errors like:
i2c_hid i2c-RAYD0001:00: i2c_hid_get_input: incomplete report (58/5442)

And all the report data are corrupted, touchscreen is unresponsive.

Fix this by re-sending report description command after resume.
Add device ID as a quirk.

a955358d54 HID: hidraw: Fix crash on HIDIOCGFEATURE with a destroyed device
Doing `ioctl(HIDIOCGFEATURE)` in a tight loop on a hidraw device
and then disconnecting the device, or unloading the driver, can
cause a NULL pointer dereference.

When a hidraw device is destroyed it sets 0 to `dev->exist`.
Most functions check 'dev->exist' before doing its work, but
`hidraw_get_report()` was missing that check.

2e210bbb74 HID: input: fix battery level reporting on BT mice
The commit 581c448476 ("HID: input: map digitizer battery usage")
assumed that devices having input (qas opposed to feature) report for
battery strength would report the data on their own, without the need to
be polled by the kernel; unfortunately it is not so. Many wireless mice
do not send unsolicited reports with battery strength data and have to
be polled explicitly. As a complication, stylus devices on digitizers
are not normally connected to the base and thus can not be polled - the
base can only determine battery strength in the stylus when it is in
proximity.

To solve this issue, we add a special flag that tells the kernel
to avoid polling the device (and expect unsolicited reports) and set it
when report field with physical usage of digitizer stylus (HID_DG_STYLUS).
Unless this flag is set, and we have not seen the unsolicited reports,
the kernel will attempt to poll the device when userspace attempts to
read "capacity" and "state" attributes of power_supply object
corresponding to the devices battery.

7d3d88401f HID: google: Enable PM Full On mode when adjusting backlight
hammer LED backlight brightness is not getting set when USB
device is in suspend state.

This patch fixes the issue by requesting USB HID device to be
in FULLON mode, so that sending hardware output report and
hardware raw request won't fail to set brightness, and set
device back to NORMAL mode once this call returns.

843e475f94 HID: multitouch: remove dead zones of Razer Blade Stealth
The Razer Blade Stealth detects palms too aggressively and this creates
a dead zone around the touchpad. Users like being able to use their
entire touchpad, so we should probably not filter out the "palm" events
from the device and report them as regular touches, leaving the palm
detection up to the upper stack

2ddc8e2d2b HID: usbhid: extend the polling interval configuration to keyboards
For mouse and joystick devices user can change the polling interval
via usbhid.mousepoll and usbhid.jspoll.
Implement the same thing for keyboards, so user can
reduce(or increase) input latency this way.

This has been tested with a Cooler Master Devastator with
kbpoll=32, resulting in delay between events of 32 ms(values were taken
from evtest).

Each frame contains a flag indicating if the frame is valid.

Some Wacom devices contain contain Pen and Pad usages in
the same report. Future devices of this type may utilize
HID Descriptors.

The generic code path of the Wacom driver previously
assumed pen, touch, and pad reports were delivered in
separate reports. This patch adds support for processing
each collection of a report separately, in order to support
reports with multiple tools.

b7289cb1cf HID: sony: Add touchpad support for NSG-MR5U and NSG-MR7U remotes
Sony's NSG-MR5U and NSG-MR7U remote controls have a full keyboard and a
touchpad.  The keyboard is already supported by the existing Linux
kernel and drivers but the touchpad is not recognized.  This patch adds
the coded needed to bring full functionality to the touchpad.

Note that these remotes use the vendor code for SMK even though they are
Sony branded.

Known limitations
- The built-in accelerometers are not supported by these changes
- When the Drag (Fn) key is used as a mouse button, the button is
automatically released when the key begins repeating.  There are two
  workarounds for this 1) Use the button behind the touchpad instead of
  the Drag (Fn) key or 2) Disable the key repeat functionality or
  increase the key repeat delay.

79837eded6 HID: elecom: refer to trackballs by model name instead of series
This patch changes all references to ELECOM trackballs using their
series name to refer to them by their model name.

ELECOM provides multiple series of mice such as EX-G, HUGE, and DEFT.
Although it has not caused conflicts in the driver, there can be more
than one iteration of mice in each series. For example, there are 7
variants of EX-G trackballs but only three (M-XT3URBK, M-XT3DRBK, and
M-XT4DRBK) need a driver to work correctly.

There are also 4 DEFT series trackballs but two of them have the same
VID:PID as the other two. I picked the earlier model for the naming of
the PID macros.

This is driver for usb touchpad found on HP Pavilion x2 10-p0xx laptop. On this
device keyboard and touchpad connected as a single usb device with two
interfaces: keyboard, which exposes ordinary keys and second interface is
touchpad which also contains FlightMode button and audio mute led (which
physically placed on keyboard for some reason).

Initially, this touchpad works in mouse emulation mode, this driver will switch
it to touchpad mode, which can track 5 fingers and can report coordinates for
two of them.

NOTE! On almost all architectures, the EPOLL* constants have the same
values as the POLL* constants do.  But they keyword here is "almost".

actually work quite correctly in some cases due to this on Sparc et al.

The next patch from Al will sort out the final differences, and we
should be all done.

Pull poll annotations from Al Viro:
 "This introduces a __bitwise type for POLL### bitmap, and propagates
  the annotations through the tree. Most of that stuff is as simple as
  'make ->poll() instances return __poll_t and do the same to local
  variables used to hold the future return value'.

  Some of the obvious brainos found in process are fixed (e.g. POLLIN
  misspelled as POLL_IN). At that point the amount of sparse warnings is
  low and most of them are for genuine bugs - e.g. ->poll() instance
  deciding to return -EINVAL instead of a bitmap. I hadn't touched those
  in this series - it's large enough as it is.

  Another problem it has caught was eventpoll() ABI mess; select.c and
  eventpoll.c assumed that corresponding POLL### and EPOLL### were
  equal. That's true for some, but not all of them - EPOLL### are
  arch-independent, but POLL### are not.

  The last commit in this series separates userland POLL### values from
  the (now arch-independent) kernel-side ones, converting between them
  in the few places where they are copied to/from userland. AFAICS, this
  is the least disruptive fix preserving poll(2) ABI and making epoll()
  work on all architectures.

  As it is, it's simply broken on sparc - try to give it EPOLLWRNORM and
  it will trigger only on what would've triggered EPOLLWRBAND on other
  architectures. EPOLLWRBAND and EPOLLRDHUP, OTOH, are never triggered
  at all on sparc. With this patch they should work consistently on all
  architectures"

edfc3722cf HID: quirks: Fix keyboard + touchpad on Toshiba Click Mini not working
The Toshiba Click Mini uses an i2c attached keyboard/touchpad combo
(single i2c_hid device for both) which has a vid:pid of 04F3:0401,
which is also used by a bunch of Elan touchpads which are handled by the
drivers/input/mouse/elan_i2c driver, but that driver deals with pure
touchpads and does not work for a combo device such as the one on the
Toshiba Click Mini.

The combo on the Mini has an ACPI id of ELAN0800, which is not claimed
by the elan_i2c driver, so check for that and if it is found do not ignore
the device. This fixes the keyboard/touchpad combo on the Mini not working
(although with the touchpad in mouse emulation mode).

7ad81482ca HID: roccat: prevent an out of bounds read in kovaplus_profile_activated()
We get the "new_profile_index" value from the mouse device when we're
handling raw events.  Smatch taints it as untrusted data and complains
that we need a bounds check.  This seems like a reasonable warning
otherwise there is a small read beyond the end of the array.

33edee4f3c HID: asus: Fix special function keys on T200TA
Just like on the T100TA the T200TA HID descriptors for the 0xff32
Asus vendor usage page need a small fixup. But on the T200TA the HID
descriptors are larger because they have descrriptors for one more
(unused) HID report appended.

Extend the T100TA descriptor fixup to also check for the T200TA's
descriptors size.

dbd3ef28e0 HID: asus: Add touchpad max x/y and resolution info for the T200TA
The Asus T200TA uses the same USB device-id for its keyboard dock as the
T100TA, but the touchpad has a different size and corresponding different
max x/y values.

Add a separate asus_touchpad_info struct for the T200TA and select this
based on the DMI product-name (as we are already doing for the T100HA),
so that we report the correct info to userspace.

403c0f681c HID: wacom: Fix reporting of touch toggle (WACOM_HID_WD_MUTE_DEVICE) events
Touch toggle softkeys send a '1' while pressed and a '0' while released,
requring the kernel to keep track of wether touch should be enabled or
disabled. The code does not handle the state transitions properly,
however. If the key is pressed repeatedly, the following four states
of states are cycled through (assuming touch starts out enabled):

Press:   shared->is_touch_on => 0, SW_MUTE_DEVICE => 1
Release: shared->is_touch_on => 0, SW_MUTE_DEVICE => 1
Press:   shared->is_touch_on => 1, SW_MUTE_DEVICE => 0
Release: shared->is_touch_on => 1, SW_MUTE_DEVICE => 1

The hardware always properly enables/disables touch when the key is
pressed but applications that listen for SW_MUTE_DEVICE events to provide
feedback about the state will only ever show touch as being enabled while
the key is held, and only every-other time. This sequence occurs because
the fallthrough WACOM_HID_WD_TOUCHONOFF case is always handled, and it
uses the value of the *local* is_touch_on variable as the value to
report to userspace. The local value is equal to the shared value when
the button is pressed, but equal to zero when the button is released.

Reporting the shared value to userspace fixes this problem, but the
fallthrough case needs to update the shared value in an incompatible
way (which is why the local variable was introduced in the first place).
To work around this, we just handle both cases in a single block of code
and update the shared variable as appropriate.

ac58eec2c5 HID: elecom: rewrite report fixup for EX-G and future mice
This patch rewrites the mouse report fixup used for the DEFT and HUGE
elecom trackballs in order to make it generic enough to fix other
elecom mice with similar issues. This patch also uses this new report
fixup function to fix the Elecom EX-G trackball which has 6 physical
buttons and a similar issue to the other two mice.

Elecom's track record has so far shown that they like to re-use the
same report descriptor for multiple different mice regardless of the
number of buttons the mouse has. This means that the missing buttons
on multiple mice can be fixed in one function without introducing
phantom buttons which would in turn cause the number of mouse buttons
to be misreported to userspace.

This patch drops the very verbose report descriptor "diff" comment for
a more abridged yet hopefully just as informative generic version.

791ae27373 HID: wacom: EKR: ensure devres groups at higher indexes are released
Background: ExpressKey Remotes communicate their events via usb dongle.
Each dongle can hold up to 5 pairings at one time and one EKR (identified
by its serial number) can unfortunately be paired with its dongle
more than once. The pairing takes place in a round-robin fashion.

Input devices are only created once per EKR, when a new serial number
is seen in the list of pairings. However, if a device is created for
a "higher" paring index and subsequently a second pairing occurs at a
lower pairing index, unpairing the remote with that serial number from
any pairing index will currently cause a driver crash. This occurs
infrequently, as two remotes are necessary to trigger this bug and most
users have only one remote.

As an illustration, to trigger the bug you need to have two remotes,
and pair them in this order:

1. slot 0 -> remote 1 (input device created for remote 1)
2. slot 1 -> remote 1 (duplicate pairing - no device created)
3. slot 2 -> remote 1 (duplicate pairing - no device created)
4. slot 3 -> remote 1 (duplicate pairing - no device created)
5. slot 4 -> remote 2 (input device created for remote 2)

6. slot 0 -> remote 2 (1 destroyed and recreated at slot 1)
7. slot 1 -> remote 2 (1 destroyed and recreated at slot 2)
8. slot 2 -> remote 2 (1 destroyed and recreated at slot 3)
9. slot 3 -> remote 2 (1 destroyed and not recreated)
10. slot 4 -> remote 2 (2 was already in this slot so no changes)

11. slot 0 -> remote 1 (The current code sees remote 2 was paired over in
                        one of the dongle slots it occupied and attempts
                        to remove all information about remote 2 [1]. It
                        calls wacom_remote_destroy_one for remote 2, but
                        the destroy function assumes the lowest index is
                        where the remote's input device was created. The
                        code "cleans up" the other remote 2 pairings
                        including the one which the input device was based
                        on, assuming they were were just duplicate
                        pairings. However, the cleanup doesn't call the
                        devres release function for the input device that
                        was created in slot 4).

This issue is fixed by this commit.

[1] Remote 2 should subsequently be re-created on the next packet from the
EKR at the lowest numbered slot that it occupies (here slot 1).

7cb4774e2d HID: core: lower log level for unknown main item tags to warnings
Given all the effort distros have done with splash-screens to give
users a nice clean boot experience, we really want dmesg --level=err
to not print anything unless there is a real problem with either the
hardware or the kernel. Buggy HID descriptors unfortunately happen
all too often, so lower the log level to warning keep the console
clear of error messages such as:

762f948c97 HID: asus: Add product-id for the T100TAF and T100HA keyboard docks
The T100TAF and T100HA keyboard docks have the same special keys and
custom protocol multitouch touchpad as the T100TA, but use a different
product id.

The T100TAF and T100HA both use the same product id, but the T100HA's
touchpad has a different coordinate range.

This commits adds supports for the new USB id and uses a dmi-check to
determine if we're dealing with the T100TAF or T100HA.

ELO devices have one Button usage in GenDesk field, which makes hid-input map
it to BTN_LEFT; that confuses userspace, which then considers the device to be
a mouse/touchpad instead of touchscreen.

Fix that by unmapping BTN_LEFT and keeping only BTN_TOUCH in place.

127e71bd46 HID: multitouch: Combine all left-button events in a frame
According to the Win8 Precision Touchpad spec, inside the HID_UP_BUTTON
usage-page usage 1 is for a clickpad getting clicked, 2 for an external
left button and 3 for an external right button. Since Linux uses
BTN_LEFT for a clickpad being clicked we end up mapping both usage 1
and 2 to BTN_LEFT and if a single report contains both then we ended
up always reporting the value of both in a single SYN, e.g. :
BTN_LEFT 1, BTN_LEFT 0, SYN. This happens for example with Hantick
HTT5288 i2c mt touchpads.

This commit fixes this by not immediately reporting left button when we
parse the report, but instead storing or-ing together the values and
reporting the result from mt_sync_frame() when we've a complete frame.

55746d28d6 HID: multitouch: Only look at non touch fields in first packet of a frame
Devices in "single finger hybrid mode" will send one report per finger,
on some devices only the first report of such a multi-packet frame will
contain a value for BTN_LEFT, in subsequent reports (if multiple fingers
are down) the value is always 0, causing hid-mt to report BTN_LEFT going
1 - 0 - 1 - 0 when pressing a clickpad and putting down a second finger.
This happens for example on USB 0603:0002 mt touchpads.

This commit fixes this by only reporting non touch fields for the first
packet of a (possibly) multi-packet frame.

The Windows Precision Touchpad spec "Figure 4 Button Only Down and Up"
and "Table 9 Report Sequence for Button Only Down and Up" indicate
that the first packet of a (possibly hybrid mode multi-packet) frame
may contain a contact-count of 0 if only a button is pressed and no
fingers are detected.

This means that a value of 0 for contact-count is a valid value and
should be used as expected contact count when it is the first packet
(num_received == 0), as extra check to make sure that this is the first
packet of a buttons only frame, we also check that the timestamp is
different.

timer_setup(), where the callback argument is the structure already
holding the struct timer_list. These should have no behavioral changes,
since they just change which pointer is passed into the callback with

542134c037 HID: cp2112: Fix I2C_BLOCK_DATA transactions
The existing driver erroneously treats I2C_BLOCK_DATA and BLOCK_DATA
commands the same.

For I2C_BLOCK_DATA reads, the length of the read is provided in
data->block[0], but the length itself should not be sent to the slave. In
contrast, for BLOCK_DATA reads no length is specified since the length
will be the first byte returned from the slave. When copying data back
to the data buffer, for an I2C_BLOCK_DATA read we have to take care not to
overwrite data->block[0] to avoid overwriting the length. A BLOCK_DATA
read doesn't have this concern since the first byte returned by the device
is the length and belongs in data->block[0].

For I2C_BLOCK_DATA writes, the length is also provided in data->block[0],
but the length itself is not sent to the slave (in contrast to BLOCK_DATA
writes where the length prefixes the data sent to the slave).

This was tested on physical hardware using i2cdump with the i and s flags
to test the behavior of I2C_BLOCK_DATA reads and BLOCK_DATA reads,
respectively. Writes were not tested but the I2C_BLOCK_DATA write change
is pretty simple to verify by inspection.

8341720642 HID: wacom: Queue events with missing type/serial data for later processing
Userspace expects to receive tool type and serial number information
for the active pen in the very first kernel report, if such data is
supported by the hardware. While this expectation is not an issue for
EMR devices, AES sensors will often send several packets worth of in-
range data before relaying type/serial data to the kernel. Sending this
data "late" can result in proximity-tracking issues by xf86-input-wacom,
or an inability to distinguish different pens by input-wacom.

Options for dealing with this situation include ignoring reports from
the tablet until we get the necessary data, or using the information
from the last-seen pen instead of the (eventual) real data. Neither
option is particularly attractive: the former results in truncated
strokes and the latter causes issues with switching between pens.

This commit instead opts to queue up events with missing information
until we receive a report which contains it. At that point, we can
update the driver's state variables (id[0] and serial[0]) and replay
the queued events.

99acedadde HID: wacom: Properly handle AES serial number and tool type
Current AES sensors relay tool type and serial number information with
a different set of usages than those prescribed by the modern (i.e.
MobileStudio Pro and newer) EMR tablet standard. To ensure the driver
properly understands these usages, we modify them to be compatible.
The identifying information is split across three consecutive fields:
a 16-bit WACOM_HID_WT_SERIALNUMBER (which is more accurately described
as WACOM_HID_WD_TOOLTYPE), a 32-bit HID_DG_TOOLSERIALNUMBER, and an
8-bit 0xFF000000 (which should be WACOM_HID_WD_SERIALHI). While we're
at it, we also define proper min/max values since may may be undefined
on some devices.

e04a0442d3 HID: core: remove the absolute need of hid_have_special_driver[]
Most HID devices behave properly when they are used with hid-generic.
Since kernel v4.12, we do not poll for input reports at plug in, so
hid-generic should behave properly with all HID devices.

There has been a long standing list of HID devices that have a special
driver. It used to be just a few, but with time, this list went too big,
and we can not ask users to know which HID special driver will pick up
their device.

We can teach hid-generic to be nice with others. If a device is not
explicitly marked with HID_QUIRK_HAVE_SPECIAL_DRIVER, we can allow
hid-generic to pick up the device as long as no other loaded HID driver
will match the device.

When the special driver appears, hid-generic can step back and let
the special driver handling the device. In case this special driver
is removed, this good old pal of hid-generic will rebind to the device.

This basically makes the list hid_have_special_driver[] useless. It
still allows to not see a hid-generic driver bound and removed during
boot, so we can keep it around.

This will also help other people to have a special HID driver without
the need of recompiling hid-core.

The Dell Canvas exports 2 collections for the Pen part. The only
difference between the 2 is that the default one has half the resolution
of the second one.

The Windows driver switches the tablet into the second mode, so we should
behave the same.

9e429d5649 HID: wacom: generic: Send BTN_STYLUS3 when both barrel switches are set
The Wacom Pro Pen 3D includes a third barrel switch which is intended to
be particularly useful in applications where one frequency uses pan, zoom,
and rotate to navigate around a scene or model. The pen is compatible with
the MobileStudio Pro, 2nd-gen Intuos Pro, and Cintiq Pro. When the third
button is pressed, these devices set both the HID_DG_BARRELSWITCH and
HID_DG_BARRELSWITCH2 usages since their HID descriptors do not include a
usage specific to the button.

Rather than send both BTN_STYLUS and BTN_STYLUS2 when the third button is
pressed, userspace (libinput) has requested that we detect this condition
and report a newly-defined BTN_STYLUS3 event instead. We could define a
quirk specific to devices compatible with the Pro Pen 3D, but the liklihood
of seeing both barrel switch bits set with other pens/devices is low enough
to not worry about (pens mechanically prevent accidental activation of
multiple switches).

492ca83c3d HID: sony: Fix SHANWAN pad rumbling on USB
The SHANWAN PS3 clone joypad will start its rumble motors as soon as
it is plugged in via USB. As the additional USB interrupt does nothing on
the original PS3 Sixaxis joypads, and makes a number of other
clone joypads actually start sending data, disable that call for
the SHANWAN so the rumble motors aren't started on plug.

402946a8ef HID: i2c-hid: Add no-irq-after-reset quirk for 0911:5288 device
Several cheap Apollo Lake based laptops / 2-in-1s use an i2c-hid mt
touchpad which is advertised by the DSDT with an ACPI HID of "SYNA3602",
this touchpad can be found on e.g. the Cube Thinker and the EZBook 3 Pro.

On my "T-bao Tbook air" the i2c-hid driver fails to bind to this touchpad:
"i2c_hid i2c-SYNA3602:00: failed to reset device.".

After some debuging this it seems that this touchpad simply never sends
an interrupt after a reset as expected by the i2c hid driver. This commit
adds a quirk for this device, making i2c_hid_command sleep 100ms after
a reset instead of waiting for an irq, fixing i2c-hid failing to bind to
this touchpad.

b24413180f License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license
Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.

By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.

Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier.  The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.

This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.

How this work was done:

Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
 - file had no licensing information it it.
 - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
 - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,

Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.

The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne.  Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.

The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed.  Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
 - Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
 - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
   lines of source
 - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
   lines).

All documentation files were explicitly excluded.

The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
identifiers to apply.

 - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
   considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
   COPYING file license applied.

   For non */uapi/* files that summary was:

 - when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became
   the concluded license(s).

 - when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
   license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
   licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.

 - In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
   resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
   which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).

 - When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
   confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

 - If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
   the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
   in time.

In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights.  The
Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so
they are related.

Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
in about 15000 files.

In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
correct identifier.

Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
version early this week with:
 - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
   license ids and scores
 - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
   files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
 - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
   was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
   SPDX license was correct

This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction.  This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.

These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg.  Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected.  This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.)  Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

The WACOM_PEN_FIELD macro is used to determine if a given HID field should be
associated with pen input. This field includes several known collection types
that Wacom pen data is contained in, but the WACOM_HID_WD_PEN application
collection type is notably missing. This can result in fields within this
kind of collection being completely ignored by the `wacom_usage_mapping`
function, preventing the later '*_event' functions from being notified about
changes to their value.

The GamepadBlock game controller adapter needs HID_QUIRK_MULTI_INPUT
to split it up into two input devices. Without this quirk the
adapter is falsely recognized as only one device and mixes up the
inputs of the two connected controllers.

a0933a456f HID: hid-elecom: extend to fix descriptor for HUGE trackball
In addition to DEFT, Elecom introduced a larger trackball called HUGE, in
both wired (M-HT1URBK) and wireless (M-HT1DRBK) versions. It has the same
buttons and behavior as the DEFT. This patch adds the two relevant USB IDs
to enable operation of the three Fn buttons on the top of the device.

f043bfc98c HID: usbhid: fix out-of-bounds bug
The hid descriptor identifies the length and type of subordinate
descriptors for a device. If the received hid descriptor is smaller than
the size of the struct hid_descriptor, it is possible to cause
out-of-bounds.

In addition, if bNumDescriptors of the hid descriptor have an incorrect
value, this can also cause out-of-bounds while approaching hdesc->desc[n].

In preparation for unconditionally passing the struct timer_list pointer to
all timer callbacks, switch to using the new timer_setup() and from_timer()
(introduced by 686fef928b ("timer: Prepare to change timer callback

2f84723de7 Revert "HID: wacom: generic: Send BTN_TOOL_PEN in prox once the pen enters range"
This reverts commit 3e70969e44.

This commit causes a few problems for userspace. The most noteworthy are
problems related to the distinguishing of different pens and pointer jumps
when entering proximity. Userspace is written with the expectation that a
pen will provide its tool ID and serial number (if available) in the very
first in-prox report. By sending BTN_TOOL_PEN when the tablet starts
communicating rather than waiting until a tool ID/serial number is
available, userspace ends up treating all pens as being the same and
lacking a serial number. Similarly, userspace assumes that the first
report will contain X/Y data, but by marking the pen as being in-prox
without an X/Y coordinate, userspace ends up warping the pen to the last-
known X/Y location. As of commit 5b40104edf ("HID: wacom: generic: Reset
events back to zero when pen leaves") this means warping to (0,0).

29cc309d8b HID: hid-multitouch: forward MSC_TIMESTAMP
Computes and forwards the device timestamp according to the specification.

Many devices use a 16-bit timestamp field, with a resolution of 100us,
therefore rolling around very frequently (every 6.5 seconds). To make sure
there is no ambiguity, the timestamp reported to the input stack reset to
0 whenever the time between 2 received events is greater than
MAX_TIMESTAMP_INTERVAL (1 second).
