EMMC can have two voltage supplies, Vcc and VccQ
which are implemented in the code as consumer
supplies vmmc and vmmc_aux.
If the regulator that supplies vmmc_aux is shared
with other consumers, then sending it to sleep
will disrupt those consumers. However, the
TWL4030-family regulators may have OFF remapped
to SLEEP, in which case 'regulator_disable()'
will put the regulator to sleep only when all
consumers are disabled - which is the desired
behaviour.
This patch adds a platform data field to allow
that option.

It has been discovered that, when eMMC is powered off, current
will flow from OMAP eMMC data pull-ups to the eMMC voltage supply.
Configuring pads for OMAP off-mode does not help because eMMC is
powered off independently of OMAP off-mode. Hence the pads are
now re-configured when eMMC is powered on or off.

This patch moves the setup code for GPIO's and Voltage
Regulators from the board file mmc-twl4030.c to the
driver omap_hsmmc.c. PBIAS and other system control
configuration remains in the board file.
Moving GPIO code to the driver makes the board initialisation
code independent of when GPIO's are defined. That makes the
board initialisation now entirely independent of its original
twl4030 roots.
Moving Voltage Regulator code to the driver allows for further
development of regulator support in the core MMC code. It also
permits the MMC core to be compiled as a module, because the
board code no longer calls MMC core functions.

This patch adds 'board-sdp-flash.c', which could be utilized
by boards similar to 3430SDP. (For ex: 2430sdp, 36030sdp).
This file does initialization for all three flash devices present
in SDP boards (NOR, NAND, OneNAND), by finding there 'cs' number
dynamically using switch setting information (S8: 1-4).
This also expects partition information from core board files (for
ex: board-3430sdp.c). Which allows to choose different default
partitions for different boards.
A new structure is created for this purpose: 'flash_partitions'
in 'mach/board-sdp.h'. This has two members:
1. struct mtd_partition *parts
2. int nr_parts
A board file is expected to fill this structure and pass it to
'sdp-flsash-init'. Partition information should be passed in
structure array of 'flash_partitions'. Partition information should
be passed in below sequence in array:
NOR
OneNAND
NAND

Change the way McBSP registers are updated: use cached values instead of
relying upon those read back from the device.
With this patch, I have finally managed to get rid of all random
playback/recording hangups on my OMAP1510 based Amstrad Delta hardware. Before
that, values read back from McBSP registers to be used for updating them
happened to be errornous.
From the hardware side, the issue appeared to be caused by a relatively high
power requirements of an external USB adapter connected to the board's printer
dedicated USB port.
I think there is one important point that makes this patch worth of applying,
apart from my hardware quality. With the current code, if it ever happens to
any machine, no matter if OMAP1510 or newer, to read incorrect value from a
McBSP register, this wrong value will get written back without any checking.
That can lead to hardware damage if, for example, an input pin is turned into
output as a result.

OMAP_MCBSP_READ()/_WRITE() macros and omap_mcbsp_read()/_write() functions
accept McBSP register base address as an argument. In order to support
caching, that must be replaced with an address of the omap_mcbsp structure
that would provide addresses for both register AND cache access.
Since OMAP_ prefix seems obvious in macro names, drop it off in order to
minimize line wrapping throughout the file.

First, this patch adds new worst-case latency values to the
omap_device_pm_latency struct. Here the worst-case measured latencies
for the activate and deactivate hooks are stored.
In addition, add an option to auto-adjust the latency values used for
device activate/deactivate.
By setting a new 'OMAP_DEVICE_LATENCY_AUTO_ADJUST' flag in the
omap_device_pm_latency struct, the omap_device layer automatically
adjusts the activate/deactivate latencies to the worst-case measured
values.
Anytime a new worst-case value is found, it is printed to the console.
Here is an example log during boot using UART2 s an example. After
boot, the OPP is manually changed to the 125MHz OPP:
[...]
Freeing init memory: 128K
omap_device: serial8250.2: new worst case deactivate latency 0: 30517
omap_device: serial8250.2: new worst case activate latency 0: 30517
omap_device: serial8250.2: new worst case activate latency 0: 218139648
omap_device: serial8250.2: new worst case deactivate latency 0: 61035
omap_device: serial8250.2: new worst case activate latency 0: 278076171
omap_device: serial8250.2: new worst case activate latency 0: 298614501
omap_device: serial8250.2: new worst case activate latency 0: 327331542
/ # echo 125000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_setspeed
omap_device: serial8250.2: new worst case deactivate latency 0: 91552
Motivation: this can be used as a technique to automatically determine
the worst case latency values. The current method of printing a
warning on every violation is too noisy to actually interact the
console in order to set low OPP to discover latencies.
Another motivation for this patch is that the activate/deactivate
latenices can vary depending on the idlemode of the device. While
working on the UARTs, I noticed that when using no-idle, the activate
latencies were as high as several hundred msecs as shown above. When
the UARTs are in smart-idle, the max latency is well under 100 usecs.

Add usecounting for wakeup and sleep dependencies. In the current
situation, if several functions add dependencies on the same
clockdomains, when the first dependency removal function is called,
the dependency will be incorrectly removed from the hardware.
Add clkdm_clear_all_wkdeps() and clkdm_clear_all_sleepdeps(), which
provide a fast and usecounting-consistent way to clear all hardware
clockdomain dependencies, since accesses to these registers can be
quite slow. pm{2,3}4xx.c has been updated to use these new functions.
The original version of this patch did not touch these files, which
previously wrote directly to the wkdep registers, and thus confused
the usecounting code. This problem was found by Kevin Hilman
<khilman@deeprootsystems.com>.
N.B.: This patch introduces one significant functional difference over
the previous pm34xx.c code: sleepdeps are now cleared during
clockdomain initialization, whereas previously they were left
untouched. This has been tested by Kevin and confirmed to work.
The original version of this patch also did not take into
consideration that some clockdomains do not have sleep or wakeup

Move clockdomain wakeup dependency and sleep dependency data
structures from the powerdomain layer to the clockdomain layer, where

this is not such a big problem, but for OMAP4 this needs to be fixed.

During suspend, the kernel timekeeping subsystem is shut down. Before
suspend and upon resume, it uses a weak function
read_persistent_clock() to determine the amount of time that elapsed
during suspend.
This function was not implemented on OMAP, so from the timekeeping
subsystem perspective (and thus userspace as well) it appeared that no
time elapsed during suspend.
This patch uses the 32k sync timer as a the persistent clock.
NOTE: This does *NOT* fully handle wrapping of the 32k sync timer, so
more than one wrapping of the 32k sync timer during suspend may
cause problems. Also note there are not interrupts when the 32k
sync timer wraps, so something else has to be done.

In the current implementation the sysconfig value is read into
_sysc_cache once and an actual update to the sysconfig register
happens only if the new value paased is differnt from the one in _sysc_cache.
_sysc_cache is updated only if _HWMOD_SYSCONFIG_LOADED is not set.
This can lead to the follwing issue if off mode is enabled in modules
which employs "always-retore" mechanism of context save and restore.
a. The module sets the sysconfig register through omap_device_enable.
Here _sysc_cache is updated with the value written to the sysconfig
register and left.
b. The power domain containig the module enters off mode and the
module context is lost.
c. The module in use becomes active and calls omap_device_enable to
enable itself. Here a read of sysconfig register does not happen
as _HWMOD_SYSCONFIG_LOADED flag is set. The value to be written
to the sysconfig register will be same as the one written in step a.
Since _sysc_cache reflects the previous written value an update
of the sysconfig register does not happen.
This means in modules which employs "always-restore" mechanism
after off , the sysconfig regsiters will never get updated.
This patch introduces a flag SYSC_NO_CACHE which if set ensures that the
sysconfig register is always read into _sysc_cache before an update is
attempted.
This flags need to be set only by modules which does not do a context save
but re-initializes the registers every time the module is accessed. This
includes modules like i2c, smartreflex etc.

Additionally, current code forces rising edge detection if both
flags are specified:
if (trigger & IRQ_TYPE_EDGE_RISING)
l |= 1 << gpio;
else if (trigger & IRQ_TYPE_EDGE_FALLING)
l &= ~(1 << gpio);
else
goto bad;
This change implements a toggle function that will modify the ICR
to flip the direction of interrupt for IRQs that are requested with
both rising and falling flags. The toggle function is not called
for chips and GPIOs it does not apply to through the use of a flip_mask
that's added on a per-bank basis. The mask is only set for those
GPIOs where a toggle is necessary. Edge detection starts out the
same as above with FALLING mode first.
The toggle happens on EACH interrupt; without it, we have the
following sequence of actions on GPIO transition:
ICR GPIO Result
0x1 0 -> 1 (rising) Interrupt
0x1 1 -> 0 (falling) No interrupt
(set ICR to 0x0 manually)
0x0 0 -> 1 (rising) No interrupt
0x0 1 -> 0 (falling) Interrupt
That is, with the ICR set to 1 for a gpio, only rising edge interrupts
are caught, and with it set to 0, only falling edge interrupts are
caught. If we add in the toggle, we get this:
ICR GPIO Result
0x1 0 -> 1 (rising) Interrupt (ICR set to 0x0)
0x0 1 -> 0 (falling) Interrupt (ICR set to 0x1)
0x1 0 -> 1 ...
so, both rising and falling are caught, per the request for both
(IRQ_TYPE_EDGE_RISING | IRQ_TYPE_EDGE_FALLING).

This patch fills in the OCP_SYSCONFIG.AUTOIDLE handling in the OMAP
hwmod code.
After this patch, the hwmod code will set the module AUTOIDLE bit
(generally <module>.OCP_SYSCONFIG.AUTOIDLE) to 1 by default upon
enable. If the hwmod flag HWMOD_NO_OCP_AUTOIDLE is set, AUTOIDLE will
be set to 0 upon enable. Upon module disable, AUTOIDLE will be set to
1.
Enabling module autoidle should save some power. The only reason to
not set the OCP_SYSCONFIG.AUTOIDLE bit is if there is a bug in the
module RTL, e.g., the MPUINTC block on OMAP3.

VRFB rotation engine is a block in OMAP2/3 that offers 12 independent
contexts that can be used for framebuffer rotation.
Each context has a backend area of real memory, where it stores the
pixels in undisclosed format. This memory is offered to users via 4
virtual memory areas, which see the same memory area in different
rotation angles (0, 90, 180 and 270 degrees).

Add a Video RAM manager for OMAP 2 and 3 platforms. VRAM manager is used
to allocate large continuous blocks of SDRAM or SRAM. The features VRAM
manager has that are missing from dma_alloc_* functions are:
- Support for OMAP2's SRAM
- Allocate without ioremapping
- Allocate at defined physical addresses
- Allows larger VRAM area and larger allocations
The upcoming DSS2 uses VRAM manager.
VRAM area size can be defined in kernel config, board file or with
kernel boot parameters. Board file definition overrides kernel config,
and boot parameter overrides kernel config and board file.

This patch disables a GPIO module when all pins of a GPIO
module are inactive (clock gating forced at module level) and
enables the module when any gpio in the module is requested.
The module is enabled only when "mod_usage" indicates that no GPIO
in that module is currently active and the GPIO being requested
is the 1st one to be active in that module.
Each module would be disabled in omap_gpio_free() API when all
GPIOs in a particular module becomes inactive. The module is
re-enabled in omap_gpio_request() API when a GPIO is requested
from the module that was previously disabled.
Since individual GPIO's bookkeeping is added in this patch
via "mod_usage", the same is used in omap_set_gpio_debounce()
& omap_set_gpio_debounce_time() APIs to ensure that the gpio being
used is actually "requested" prior to being used (Nishant Menon's

OMAP34XX_DSP_IPI_BASE: The Intrusive Port Interface is a relic from

OMAP34XX_DSP_MMU_BASE: The DSP MMU is mapped at 0x5d000000, not 0x5a000000.

3630 is getting treated like next rev of 3430
omap_chip.oc variable has to be updated for 3630 version
Otherwise the Core power domain is not getting registered.
This gets used in the registration of power domains in:
"arch/arm/mach-omap2/powerdomains34xx.h"
core_34xx_es3_1_pwrdm
OMAP_CHIP_INIT(CHIP_GE_OMAP3430ES3_1)

OMAP3630 is the latest in the family of OMAP3 devices
and among the changes it introduces are:
New OPP levels for new voltage and frequency levels. a bunch of
Bug fixes to various modules feature additions, notably with ISP,
sDMA etc.
Details about the chip is available here:
http://focus.ti.com/general/docs/wtbu/wtbuproductcontent.tsp?templateId=6123&navigationId=12836&contentId=52606
Strategy used:
Strategy to introduce this device into Linux was discussed here:
Ref: http://marc.info/?t=125343303400003&r=1&w=2
Two approaches were available:
a) Consider 3630 generation of devices as a new family of silicon
b) Consider 3630 as an offshoot of 3430 family of devices
As a common consensus, (b) seems to be more valid for 3630 as:
* There are changes which are easily handled by using "FEATURES"
infrastructure.
For details how to do this, see thread:
http://marc.info/?t=125050998500001&r=1&w=2
* Most of existing 34xx infrastructure can be reused(almost 90%+)
- so no ugly if (cpu_is_omap34xx() || cpu_is_omap36xx())
all over the place
- lesser chance of bugs due to reuse of proven code flow
- 36xx specific handling can still be done where required
within the existing infrastructure
NOTE:
* If additional 34xx series are added, OMAP3430_REV_ESXXXX can be
added on top of the existing 3630 ones are renumbered
This patch was tested on SDP3430, boot tested on 3630 platform using

The l3_ocpi_ck clock is needed on omap7xx processors for USB.
Additionally, bit 8 of the SOFT_REQ_REG needs to be enabled for
the usb_dc_ck on omap7xx, which is a different bit than that
of the omap16xx-defined clock of the same name.
I added a provision for the usb_dc_ck and l3_ocpi_ck clocks as
dc_clk and hhc_clk, respectively, for omap7xx CPUs. Additionally,
I added a check in machine_without_vbus_sense for all omap7xx
devices, as presently I know of no omap7xx-based devices that
have vbus sense, and it made more sense to me to use a cpu check
here than to spell out each machine one at a time. Finally, DMA
is disabled for omap7xx, as it causes problems with these chips.

The MMC mux pins normally used by omap chips in devices.c
are different from what is needed by omap7xx chips. This
change adds a conditional around the mux setup code to
enable the correct mux pins.
The omap730 and omap850 both use a different clock for the "fck"
clock of the MMC interface than other omap processors based on the
SOFT_REQ_REG, pin 12. The "ick" clock is the same as that used
by other omap processors.
* Added the missing clock definition as mmc3_ck to clock.h
* Added the clock definition to omap_clks in clock.c
* Added CK_7XX to the mmci-omap.0 "ick" clock already in clock.c
With these changes, it is now possible to initialize and use MMC
cards with omap730 and omap850 devices.

Note that also the null terminator entry for omap1

Note that mach-omap1 uses struct plat_serial8250_port

reasonable 300,000uS. This causes ondemand and conservative governors to
sample CPU load more often resulting in more responsive behavior.

Due to an OMAP3 errata (1.142), on HS/EMU devices SDRC should be
programed to issue automatic self refresh on timeout
of AUTO_CNT = 1 prior to any transition to OFF mode.
This is needed only on sil rev's ES3.0 and above.
This patch enables the above needed WA in the SDRC power register
value stored in scratchpad, so that ROM code restores this value
in SDRC POWER on the wakeup path.
The original SDRC POWER register value is stored and restored back
in omap_sram_idle() function.

The secure sram context save uses dma channels 0 and 1.
In order to avoid collision between kernel DMA transfers and
ROM code dma transfers, we need to reserve DMA channels 0
1 on high security devices.
A bug in ROM code leaves dma irq status bits uncleared.
Hence those irq status bits need to be cleared when restoring
DMA context after off mode.
There was also a faulty parameter given to PPA in the secure
ram context save assembly code, which caused interrupts to
be enabled during secure ram context save. This caused the
save to fail sometimes, which resulted the saved context
to be corrupted, but also left DMA channels in secure mode.
The secure mode DMA channels caused "DMA secure error with
device 0" errors to be displayed.

With CONFIG_PM=y, the omapfb/lcdc device on Amstrad Delta, after initially

...
omapfb omapfb: resetting (status 0xffffff96,reset count 100)
omapfb omapfb: too many reset attempts, giving up.
Looking closer at this I have found that it had been broken almost 2 years ago
with commit 2418996e3b100114edb2ae110d5d4acb928909d2, PM fixes for OMAP1.
The definite reason for broken omapfb/lcdc behavoiur in PM mode
appeared to be ARM_IDLECT1:IDLIF_ARM (bit 6) put into idle regardless of LCD
DMA possibly running. The bit were set based on return value of the
omap_dma_running() function that did not check for dedicated LCD DMA
channel status. The patch below fixes this.
Note that the hardcoded register value will be fixed during the next merge
cycle to use OMAP_LCDC_ defines. Currently the OMAP_LCDC_ defines are local
to drivers/video/omap/lcdc.c, so let's not start moving those right now.
