In order to save power the DDR pins should be put into high
impedance when in suspend to RAM.
This requires manually requesting self refresh (rather than using the
automatic mode implemented by the CCM / ESDCTL), followed by
reconfiguring the IOMUXC.
Of course the code to do this cannot itself run from DDR so the
code is copied to and executed from internal memory.
In my tests using a custom i.MX53 board with LPDDR2 RAM
this reduced the suspend power consumption from 200mW to 60mW.

Commit 4631960d26da ("ARM: imx6: set initial power mode in pm function")
moves imx6_set_lpm() from clock init function into
imx6_pm_common_init(). This causes a hang when cpuidle support is
enabled. The reason for that is ARM core clock is shut down
unexpectedly by WAIT mode. It happens with the following call stack:
cpuidle_register_governor()
cpuidle_switch_governor()
cpuidle_uninstall_idle_handler()
synchronize_sched()
wait_rcu_gp()
wait_for_completion()
When wait_for_completion() is called as above, all cores are idle/WFI.
Hence, the reset value of CCM_CLPCR_LPM - WAIT mode, will trigger a
hardware shutdown of the ARM core clock.
To fix the regression, we need to ensure that CCM_CLPCR_LPM is
initialized into RUN mode earlier than cpuidle governor registration,
which is a postcore_initcall. This patch creates function
imx6_pm_ccm_init() to map CCM block and initialize CCM_CLPCR_LPM into
RUN mode, and have the function called from machine .init_irq hook,
which should be early enough.

EPIT provides another timer implementation besides the default GPT
timer. The imx35 clock driver will use EPIT timer when option
CONFIG_MXC_USE_EPIT is enabled. However, initializing timers from
clock driver is a workaround solution and causes problem when we move
clock drivers into driver/clk.
Let's simply drop the EPIT initialization from there. If people really
want this EPIT option, EPIT timer driver needs to be reworked to do the
initialization in a standard way - use CLOCKSOURCE_OF_DECLARE() with
device tree support.

Rather than setting initial low-power mode in every single i.MX6 clock
initialization function, we should really do that in pm code. Let's
move imx6q_set_lpm(WAIT_CLOCKED) call into imx6_pm_common_init().
While at it, let's rename the function to imx6_set_lpm() since it's

We used to read file_handle twice. Once to get the amount of extra
bytes, and once to fetch the entire structure.
This may be problematic since we do size verifications only after the
first read, so if the number of extra bytes changes in userspace between
the first and second calls, we'll have an incoherent view of
file_handle.
Instead, read the constant size once, and copy that over to the final

The early_idt_handlers asm code generates an array of entry
points spaced nine bytes apart. It's not really clear from that
code or from the places that reference it what's going on, and
the code only works in the first place because GAS never
generates two-byte JMP instructions when jumping to global
labels.
Clean up the code to generate the correct array stride (member size)
explicitly. This should be considerably more robust against
screw-ups, as GAS will warn if a .fill directive has a negative
count. Using '. =' to advance would have been even more robust
(it would generate an actual error if it tried to move
backwards), but it would pad with nulls, confusing anyone who
tries to disassemble the code. The new scheme should be much
clearer to future readers.
While we're at it, improve the comments and rename the array and
common code.
Binutils may start relaxing jumps to non-weak labels. If so,
this change will fix our build, and we may need to backport this
change.

This reverts commit 5fc872c732.
The DMA-API does not strictly require that the memory
returned by dma_alloc_coherent is zeroed out. For that
another function (dma_zalloc_coherent) should be used. But
all other x86 DMA-API implementation I checked zero out the
memory, so that some drivers rely on it and break when it is
not.
It seems the (driver-)world is not yet ready for this
change, so revert it.

The following patch reverts the ebtables chunk that enforces counters that was
introduced in the recently applied d26e2c9ffa ('Revert "netfilter: ensure
number of counters is >0 in do_replace()"') since this breaks ebtables.

We currently rely on the PMTU discovery of xfrm.
However if a packet is localy sent, the PMTU mechanism
of xfrm tries to to local socket notification what
might not work for applications like ping that don't
check for this. So add pmtu handling to vti6_xmit to
report MTU changes immediately.

In d74b9027a4 ("PCI: Consider additional PF's IOV BAR alignment in sizing
and assigning"), we store additional alignment in realloc_head and take
this into consideration for assignment.
In __assign_resources_sorted(), we changed dev_res->res->start, then used
resource_start() (which depends on res->start), so the recomputed res->end
was completely bogus. Even if we'd had the correct size, the end would
have been off by one.
Preserve the resource size when we adjust its alignment.

This reverts commit f96dee13b8.
It isn't right, ethtool is meant to manage one PHY instance
per netdevice at a time, and this is selected by the SET
command. Therefore by definition the GET command must only
return the settings for the configured and selected PHY.

Avoid entering "RTC-only mode" at poweroff. It is unsupported by most
versions of BeagleBone, and risks hardware damage.
The damaging configuration is having system-power-controller
without ti,pmic-shutdown-controller.

Commit dff173de84 ("bnx2x: Fix statistics locking scheme") changed the
bnx2x locking around statistics state into using a mutex - but the lock
is being accessed via a timer which is forbidden.
[If compiled with CONFIG_DEBUG_MUTEXES, logs show a warning about
accessing the mutex in interrupt context]
This moves the implementation into using a semaphore [with size '1']
instead.
