Add OMAP5 CPUIDLE support.
This patch adds MPUSS low power states in cpuidle.
C1 - CPU0 WFI + CPU1 WFI + MPU ON
C2 - CPU0 RET + CPU1 RET + MPU CSWR
Modified from TI kernel tree commit 605967fd2205 ("ARM: DRA7: PM:
cpuidle MPU CSWR support") except enable cpuidle for omap5 instead
of dra7.
According to Nishanth Menon <nm@ti.com>, cpuidle on dra7 is not
supported properly in the hardware so we don't want to enable it.
However, for omap5 this adds some nice power savings. Note that
the TI 3.8 based tree has other cpuidle states that we may be able
to enable later on.
On omap5-uevm, the power consumption eventually settles down to about
920mW with ehci-omap and ohci-omap3 unloaded compared to about 1.7W
without these patches. Note that it seems to take few minutes after
booting for the idle power to go down to 920mW from 1.3W, no idea so
far what might be causing that.

For OMAP4, volt_data is set in omap44xx_voltagedomains_init.

The cleanups for v4.9 are a little larger that usual, but thankfully
that is almost exclusively due to removing a significant number of
files that have become obsolete after the still ongoing conversion
of old board files to devicetree.
- for mach-omap2, which is still the largest platform in arch/arm/,
the conversion to DT is finally complete after the Nokia N900 is
now fully supported there, along with the omap3 LDP, and we can
remove those two board files.
If no regressions are found, another large cleanup for the platform
will happen as a follow-up, removing dead code and restructuring
the platform based on being DT-only.
- In mach-imx, similar work is ongoing, but has not come that far.
This time, we remove the obsolete board file for the i.MX1
generation, which like i.MX25, i.MX5, i.MX6, and i.MX7 is now DT-only.
The remaining board files are for i.MX2 and i.MX3 machines
based on old ARM926 or ARM1136 cores that should work with DT
in principle.
- realview has just been converted from board files to DT, and a lot
of code gets removed in the process. This is the last
ARM/Keil/Versatile derived platform that was still using board
files, the other ones being integrator, versatile and vexpress.
We can probably merge the remaining code into a single directory
in the near future.
- clps711x had completed the conversion in v4.8, but we accidentally
left the files in place that should have been deleted then.
Conflicts: two files deleted here have been modified upstream,
the changes can be discarded.

- Do away with the last users of the obsolete Kconfig options
ARCH_REQUIRE_GPIOLIB and ARCH_WANT_OPTIONAL_GPIOLIB (the latter
always sounded like an item on a wishlist to Santa Claus to
me). We can now select GPIOLIB and be done with it, for all
archs. After some struggle it even work on UM. Not that it has
GPIO, but if it wants to, it can select the library.
- Continued efforts to make drivers properly either tristate or
bool.
- Introduce a warning for drivers assigning default triggers to
their irqchip lines when probed from device tree, so we find and
fix these ambigous drivers. It is agreed that in the OF config
path, the device tree defines trigger characteristics.
- The same warning, mutatis mutandis, for ACPI-probed GPIO
irqchips.
- We introduce the ability to mark certain IRQ lines as "unusable"
as they can be taken by BIOS/firmware, unrouted in silicon and
generally nasty if you use them, and such things. This is
put to good use in the STMPE driver and also in the Cherryview
pin control driver.
- A new "mockup" virtual GPIO device that can be used for testing.
The plan is to add unit tests under tools/* for exercising this
device and verify that the kernel code paths are working as they
should.
- Make memory-mapped I/O-drivers depend on HAS_IOMEM. This was
implicit all the time, but when people started building UM
with allyesconfig or allmodconfig it exploded in their face.
- Move some stray bits of device tree and ACPI HW description
callbacks down into their respective implementation silo. These
were causing issues when compiling on !HAS_IOMEM as well, so
now eventually UM compiles the GPIOLIB library if it wants to.
New drivers:
- New driver for the Aspeed GPIO front-end companion to the
pin controller merged through the pin control tree.
- New driver for the LP873x PMIC GPIO portions.
- New driver for Technologic Systems' I2C FPGA GPIO such as
TS4900, TS-7970, TS-7990 and TS-4100.
- New driver for the Broadcom BCM63xx series including BCM6338

- New driver for the Intel WhiskeyCove PMIC GPIO.
- New driver for the Allwinner AXP209 PMIC GPIO portions.
- New driver for Diamond Systems 48 line GPIO-MM, another of
these port-mapped I/O expansion cards.
- Support the STMicroelectronics STMPE1600 variant in the STMPE

Driver improvements:
- The STMPE driver now supports rising/falling edge detection
properly for IRQs.
- The PCA954x will now fetch and enable its VCC regulator properly.
- Major rework of the PCA953x driver with the goal of eventually
switching it over to use regmap and thus modernize it even more.
- Switch the IOP driver to use the generic MMIO GPIO library.
- Move the ages old HTC EGPIO (extended GPIO) GPIO expander driver

concerns.

booting for v4.8 to allow making mach-omap2 device tree only for
v4.9.
We've had Nokia N900 and omap3 LDP board-*.c files remaining
while other omap3 devices have been device tree only for quite
a while now. Also N900 and LDP have had device tree based booting
working for years now, but few drivers for N900 were still only
working in legacy only mode until recently. With the remaining
issues out of the way, we discussed on the mailing lists that
we're finally OK to remove the remaining board-*.c files.
For the timing of this pull request, I wanted to wait until
v4.8-rc1 is out to make sure the legacy booting still works fine
after the merge window before doing it.
And for v4.8, let's not touch any other platform data in case we
still need to revert for some reason. This makes the revert just a
question of adding back the legacy board-*.c files.
Then if no issues, we can remove the unused remaining platform
data later on for v4.9.

Merge tag 'omap-for-v4.8/legacy-signed' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap into next/cleanup
Merge "drop last omap3 board files for v4.8" from Tony Lindgren:
Remove the last two legacy board-*.c files for omap3 for legacy
booting for v4.8 to allow making mach-omap2 device tree only for

Previously the low-level CM call internal to the
_omap4_wait_target_ready/disable calls was responsible for checking for
a valid clkctrl_offs. Now we must also consider the value of the
prcm.omap4.flags because if HWMOD_OMAP4_ZERO_CLKCTRL_OFFSET is set in
the flags then clkctrl_offs of 0 is valid.
Let's add this check into the _omap4_wait_target_ready/disable where we
have access to both the clkctrl_offs and the flags values and simply
return 0 without calling the low level CM call at all, which would have
returned 0 anyway if the clktrl_offs was zero.

The RTC hwmod on AM335x family of SoCs is unique in that the
clkctrl_offs in the PRCM is 0. We rely on a clkctrl_offs of zero as
indicating no clkctrl is present so we must flag this hwmod with
HWMOD_OMAP4_ZERO_CLKCTRL_OFFSET to indicate the 0 clkctrl_offs is in
fact valid in this case.

Let's drop the last two remaining omap3 legacy boot board files.
Let's only use the device tree based booting known to work for
these two boards.
We still have two omap3 boards booting in legacy mode in addition
to device tree based booting. All the other ten or so omap2+ SoCs
have been booting using device tree mode only for years now. This
has allowed us to get rid of quite a bit of arch/arm/mach-omap2
related platform init code in favor of dts and driver changes.
Pretty much the only remaining known users for omap3 legacy boot
board files are Kevin's and Russell's boot test systems, and N900
kernel tree maintained by Pali and Ivaylo. And all of them are
also supporting the device tree based booting. The legacy booting
mode has been kept around mostly to verify against regressions.
As there is still a slim chance of possible other uses of the
mainline kernel for these boards, let's just drop the board
files for v4.8, and let's not touch the related platform init
code until around v4.9 time if no issues are found. This makes
it trivial for us to add back the board files with a simple revert.

The previous implementation was racy in many locations, where the current
status of the clockdomain was read out, some operations were executed,
and the previous status info was used afterwards to decide next state
for the clockdomain. Instead, fix the implementation of the allow_idle /

We need to reset CPU1 properly for kexec when booting different
kernel versions. Otherwise CPU1 will attempt to boot the the
previous kernel's start_secondary(). Note that the restctrl
register is different from the low-power mode wakeup register
CPU1_WAKEUP_NS_PA_ADDR. We need to configure both.
Let's fix the issue by defining SoC specific data to initialize
things in a more generic way. And let's also standardize omap-smp.c
to use soc_is instead of cpu_is while at it.

Kexec booted kernels on omap4 will hang early during the boot if the
booted kernel is different version from the previous kernel.
This is because the previous kernel may have configured low-power mode
using CPU1_WAKEUP_NS_PA_ADDR. In that case it points to the previous
kernel's omap4_secondary_startup(), and CPU1 can be in low power mode
from the previous kernel. When the new kernel configures the CPU1
clockdomain, CPU1 can wake from low power state prematurely during
omap44xx_clockdomains_init() running random code.
Let's fix the issue by configuring CPU1_WAKEUP_NS_PA_ADDR before we
call omap44xx_clockdomains_init(). Note that this is very early during
the init, and we will do proper CPU1 reset during SMP init a bit later
on in omap4_smp_prepare_cpus(). And we need to do this when SMP is
not enabled as the previous kernel may have had it enabled.

Prepare things for making kexec work on SMP omap variants by initializing

Note that this should not prevent moving other SAR RAM code to live
under drivers. However for kexec, we will need this very early.

some time of use because of asymmetric aging. And related to this,
let's also remove the unusable states.
- Always select omap interconnect for am43x as otherwise the am43x

- Select erratum 430973 for omap3, this is now safe to do and can

A few platforms are currently missing clocksource_probe() completely
in their time_init functionality. On OMAP3430 for example, this is
causing cpuidle to be pretty much dead, as the counter32k is not
going to be registered and instead a gptimer is used as a clocksource.
This will tick in periodic mode, preventing any deeper idle states.
While here, also drop one unnecessary check for populated DT before
existing clocksource_probe() call.

McBSP2/3 module's sidetone module operates using the module's ICLK clock.
When the Sidetone is in use the interface clock of the module must not

The McBSPLP's sidetone main clock is the McBSPLP's ICLK, not FCLK as the
sidetone only receives the ICLK from the main McBSP module.
Since the McBSP and sidetone is using the very same clock from PRCM level
the sidetone must not have the prcm section to check the clock status since
the sidetone is only used when McBSP is already configured.
If two separate hwmods looking at the same bit and they would use
pm_runtime in nested way (as it must happen with McBSP and it's ST module)
the hwmod would warn, because the idlest will not match what it is expected
after enable/disable of the clocks.

Devices that utilize the OCP registers and/or PRCM registers and
register bit fields should be modeled using hwmod. Since eQEP, ePWM and
eCAP don't fall under this category, remove their hwmod entries.
Instead these clocks simply use the clock that is passed through by its
parent PWMSS. Therefore, PWMSS handles the clock for itself and its
subdevices.

now be selected directly.
- "select ARCH_WANT_OPTIONAL_GPIOLIB" with no dependency: GPIOLIB
is now selectable by everyone, so we need not declare our
intent to select it.
When ordering the symbols the following rationale was used:
if the selects were in alphabetical order, I moved select GPIOLIB
to be in alphabetical order, but if the selects were not
maintained in alphabetical order, I just replaced
"select ARCH_REQUIRE_GPIOLIB" with "select GPIOLIB".

We get support for three new 32-bit SoC platforms this time. The amount
of changes in arch/arm for any of them is miniscule, as all the
interesting code is in device driver subsystems (irqchip, clk, pinctrl,
...) these days. I'm listing them here, as the addition of the Kconfig
statement is the main relevant milestone for a new platform. In each
case, some drivers are are shared with existing platforms, while
other drivers are added for v4.7 as well, or come in a later release.
- The Aspeed platform is probably the most interesting one, this is
what most whitebox servers use as their baseboard management
controller. We get support for the very common ast2400 and ast2500
SoCs. The OpenBMC project focuses on this chip, and the LWN
article about their ELC 2016 presentation at
https://lwn.net/Articles/683320/ triggered the submission, but the
code comes from IBM's OpenPOWER team rather than the team at
Facebook. There are still a lot more drivers that need to get added
over time, and I hope both teams can work together on that.
- OXNAS is an old platform for Network Attached Storage devices
from Oxford Semiconductor. There are models with ARM10 (!) and
ARM11MPCore cores, but for now, we only support the original ARM9
based versions.
The product lineup was subsequently part of PLX, Avago and now the
new Broadcom Ltd. https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/hardware/soc/soc.oxnas
has some more information.
- V2M-MPS2 is a prototyping platform from ARM for their Cortex-M
cores and is related to the existing Realview / Versatile Express
lineup, but without MMU. We now support various NOMMU platforms,
so adding a new one is fairly straightforward.
http://infocenter.arm.com/help/topic/com.arm.doc.100112_0100_03_en/
has detailed information about the platform.
Other noteworthy updates:
- Work on LPC32xx has resumed, and Vladimir Zapolskiy and Sylvain Lemieux
are now maintaining the platform. This is an older ARM9 based
platform from NXP (not Freescale), but it remains in use in embedded
markets.
- Kevin Hilman is now co-maintaining the Amlogic Meson platform for both
32-bit and 64-bit ARM, and started contributing some patches.
- As is often the case, work on the OMAP platforms makes up the bulk of
the actual SoC code changes in arch/arm, but there isn't a lot of
that either.

- V2M-MPS2 is a prototyping platform from ARM for their Cortex-M
cores and is related to the existing Realview / Versatile Express
lineup, but without MMU.
We now support various NOMMU platforms, so adding a new one is
fairly straightforward.
http://infocenter.arm.com/help/topic/com.arm.doc.100112_0100_03_en/
has detailed information about the platform.
Other noteworthy updates:
- Work on LPC32xx has resumed, and Vladimir Zapolskiy and Sylvain
Lemieux are now maintaining the platform.
This is an older ARM9 based platform from NXP (not Freescale), but
it remains in use in embedded markets.
- Kevin Hilman is now co-maintaining the Amlogic Meson platform for
both 32-bit and 64-bit ARM, and started contributing some patches.
- As is often the case, work on the OMAP platforms makes up the bulk
of the actual SoC code changes in arch/arm, but there isn't a lot
of that either"

Traditionally we've had two separate branches for cleanups and non-critical
bug fixes, but both of these got smaller with each release and the differences
are rather unclear now, so it seems more appropriate to have a combined
branch.
The most notably change is for OMAP, which gets a small rework to simplify
handling of the AUXDATA mechanism used on machines that are not completely
DT based yet, along with other work that is used as preparation for dropping
the legacy board files.

This patch explicitly enables the fixes for the below errata applicable

Add workaround for Cortex-A15 ARM erratum 801819 which says in summary
that "A livelock can occur in the L2 cache arbitration that might
prevent a snoop from completing. Under certain conditions this can
cause the system to deadlock. "
Recommended workaround is as follows:
Do both of the following:
1) Do not use the write-back no-allocate memory type.
2) Do not issue write-back cacheable stores at any time when the cache
is disabled (SCTLR.C=0) and the MMU is enabled (SCTLR.M=1). Because it
is implementation defined whether cacheable stores update the cache when
the cache is disabled it is not expected that any portable code will
execute cacheable stores when the cache is disabled.
For implementations of Cortex-A15 configured without the “L2 arbitration
register slice” option (typically one or two core systems), you must
also do the following:
3) Disable write-streaming in each CPU by setting ACTLR[28:25] = 0b1111
So, we provide an option to disable write streaming on OMAP5 and DRA7.
It is a rare condition to occur and may be enabled selectively based
on platform acceptance of risk.
Applies to: A15 revisions r2p0, r2p1, r2p2, r2p3 or r2p4 and REVIDR[3]
is set to 0.
Based on ARM errata Document revision 18.0 (22 Nov 2013)
Note: the configuration for the workaround needs to be done with
each CPU bringup, since CPU0 bringup is done by bootloader, it is
recommended to have the workaround in the bootloader, kernel also does
ensure that CPU0 has the workaround and makes the workaround active
when CPU1 gets active.
With CONFIG_SMP disabled, it is expected to be done by the bootloader.
This does show significant degradation in synthetic tests such as
mbw (https://packages.qa.debian.org/m/mbw.html)
mbw -n 100 100|grep AVG (on a test platform)
Without enabling the erratum:
AVG Method: MEMCPY Elapsed: 0.13406 MiB: 100.00000 Copy: 745.913 MiB/s
AVG Method: DUMB Elapsed: 0.06746 MiB: 100.00000 Copy: 1482.357 MiB/s
AVG Method: MCBLOCK Elapsed: 0.03058 MiB: 100.00000 Copy: 3270.569 MiB/s
After enabling the erratum:
AVG Method: MEMCPY Elapsed: 0.13757 MiB: 100.00000 Copy: 726.913 MiB/s
AVG Method: DUMB Elapsed: 0.12024 MiB: 100.00000 Copy: 831.668 MiB/s
AVG Method: MCBLOCK Elapsed: 0.09243 MiB: 100.00000 Copy: 1081.942 MiB/s
Most benchmarks are designed for specific performance analysis, so
overall usecase must be considered before making a decision to
enable/disable the erratum workaround.
Pending internal investigation, the erratum is kept disabled by default.

As a minimal use case, let's also convert omap pinctrl auxdatato

These are caused by event tracing from the idle loop, and they were
exposed by commit 293e2421fe ("rcu: Remove superfluous versions of
rcu_read_lock_sched_held()"), which suppressed some false negatives.
The current commit therefore adds the _rcuidle suffix to make RCU aware
of this implicit use of RCU by event tracing, thus preventing both splats.

Before we start removing omap3 legacy booting support, let's make n900
DT booting behave the same way for ir-rx51 as the legacy booting does.
For now, we need to pass pdata to the ir-rx51 driver. This means that
the n900 tree can move to using DT based booting without having to carry
all the legacy platform data with it when it gets dropped from the mainline
tree.
Note that the ir-rx51 driver is currently disabled because of the
dependency to !ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM. This will get sorted out later
with the help of drivers/pwm/pwm-omap-dmtimer.c. But first we need
to add chained IRQ support to dmtimer code to avoid introducing new
custom frameworks.
So let's just pass the necessary dmtimer functions to ir-rx51 so we
can get it working in the following patch.

that broke when we added runtime based SoC revision detection earlier.
It seems suspend worked earlier as things were only partially initialized,
while now we initialize things properly for dra7.
Note that the "ARM: OMAP: Catch callers of revision information prior
to it being populated" had to be reverted as it caused bogus warnings
for other SoCs because omap initcalls bail out based on revision being
set to 0 for other SoCs. These initcalls will mostly just disappear
when we drop support for omap3 legacy booting.
Also included is a fix for dra7 sys_32k_ck clock source that is not
enabled on boot making system fall back to using emulated clock.

Depending on timing during the resume path from off mode on 36xx, we may
see external aborts. These seem to be caused by the following:
- OMAP3 Advisory 1.62 "MPU Cannot Exit from Standby" says we need to
disable intc autoidle before WFI
- DM3730 Advisory 1.106 "MPU Leaves MSTANDBY State Before IDLEREQ of
Interrupt Controller is Released" says we need to wait before
accessing intc
omap3_intc_resume_idle restores the intc autoidle for all resume paths,
however in the resume path from off mode only it is also being restored
by omap_intc_restore_context before this call to omap3_intc_resume_idle
happens. The second restore of the intc autoidle in this path is what
appears to be causing the external abort so for the off mode resume path
let's rely on omap_intc_restore_context to restore intc autoidle, and
for all other paths let omap3_intc_resume_idle handle it as it is now.

Open Switch Retention(OSWR) is a retention state which is unsupported
in DRA7 SoC. This state is achieved when power state is set to
retention and logic power state is set to OFF.
Even though DRA7 architecture is a OMAP derivative, none of the
powerdomains are actually implemented to achieve OSWR in the SoC.

Erratum i892 as will be documented in the upcoming G or later revision
of DRA7xx/ AM57xx errata documentation (SPRZ398F) states that L3 clock
needs to be kept active all the time to ensure that asymmetric aging
degradation is minimal and within the design allowed margin.
By allowing core domain to transition to INA and allowing L3 clock to be
turned off for extended periods of time, there is a risk of functional
issues and device failure as a result.

The omap_hwmod _enable() function can return success without setting
the hwmod state to _HWMOD_STATE_ENABLED for IPs with reset lines when
all of the reset lines are asserted. The omap_hwmod _idle() function
also performs a similar check, but after checking for the hwmod state
first. This triggers the WARN when pm_runtime_get and pm_runtime_put
are invoked on IPs with all reset lines asserted. Reverse the checks
for hwmod state and reset lines status to fix this.

Add the hwmod data for GPTimer 12. GPTimer 12 is present in
WKUPAON power domain and is clocked from a secure 32K clock.
GPTimer 12 serves as a secure timer on HS devices, but is
available for kernel on regular GP devices.
The hwmod link is registered only on GP devices. The hwmod data
also reused the existing timer class instead of reintroducing
the identical dra7xx_timer_secure_sysc class which was dropped
in commit edec178633 ("ARM: DRA7: hwmod: Fix the hwmod class

RTC IP have kicker feature which prevents spurious writes to its registers.
In order to write into any of the RTC registers, KICK values has to be
written to KICK registers. Also, RTC busy flag needs to be polled for
non-TC registers as well, without which update is not proper and confirmed
it by testing on DRA7-evm.
Introduce omap_hwmod_rtc_unlock/lock functions, which writes into these
KICK registers inorder to lock and unlock RTC registers.

Errata Title:
i874: TIMER5/6/7/8 interrupts not propagated
Description:
When TIMER5, TIMER6, TIMER7, or TIMER8 clocks are enabled
(CM_IPU_TIMER5/6/7/8_CLKCTRL[0:1]MODULEMODE=0x2:ENABLE) and the CD-IPU
is in HW_AUTO mode (CM_IPU_CLKSTCTRL[0:1]CLKTRCTRL=0x3:HW_AUTO) the
corresponding TIMER will continue counting, but enabled interrupts
will not be propagated to the destinations (MPU, DSP, etc) in the
SoC until the TIMER registers are accessed from the CPUs (MPU, DSP
etc.). This can result in missed timer interrupts.
Workaround:
In order for TIMER5/6/7/8 interrupts to be propagated and serviced
correctly the CD_IPU domain should be set to SW_WKUP mode
(CM_IPU_CLKSTCTRL[0:1]CLKTRCTRL=0x2:SW_WKUP).
The above workaround is achieved by switching the IPU clockdomain
flags from HWSUP_SWSUP to SWSUP only.

omap_rev is used to detect various SoC types, however any misuse of
the usage by invoking it earlier than it being populated will result
in invalid results. Lets flag them as early as possible to prevent
unintended side effects taking place. We get 0 if it is uninitialized
and -1 when detection is done using device tree (as the case was for

When commit 06c2d368fc ("ARM: OMAP: DRA7: Make use of omap_revision

omap_revision, it missed providing DRA7 as class for initializing
the omap_version variable. Without doing this, soc_is_dra7xx() will
fail and as a result, omap4_pm_init_early never initializes the dra7
erratum for CPU power state. This causes the suspend path to fail

DRA7 has no SAR region for automated save and restore of wakeupgen,
which does not make real since the SoC really does not do legacy OFF

we will enter.

ARM: OMAP2+: first hwmod fix for v4.6-rc
Fix a longstanding bug in the hwmod code that could cause
hardware SYSCONFIG register values to not match the kernel's
idea of what they should be, and that could result in lower
performance during IP block idle entry.
Basic build, boot, and PM test logs are available here:
http://www.pwsan.com/omap/testlogs/omap-hwmod-fixes-a-for-v4.6-rc/20160326231727/
Commit 127500ccb7 ("ARM: OMAP2+: Only write the sysconfig on idle
when necessary") talks about verification of sysconfig cache value before
updating it, only during idle path. But the patch is adding the
verification in the enable path. So, adding the check in a proper place
as per the commit description.
Not keeping this check during enable path as there is a chance of losing
context and it is safe to do on idle as the context of the register will
never be lost while the device is active.

Force the DRA7xx Ethernet internal clock source to stay enabled
per TI erratum i877:
http://www.ti.com/lit/er/sprz429h/sprz429h.pdf
Otherwise, if the Ethernet internal clock source is disabled, the

Merge tag 'omap-for-v4.6/fixes-not-urgent-signed' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap into next/fixes-non-critical
Merge "omap non-urgent fixes for v4.6 merge window" from Tony Lindgren:
Fixes for omaps for v4.6 merge window that are not urgent
for the v4.5-rc cycle:
- Add back optimized cpuidle parameters for 34xx that were
incorrecly removed earlier with cpuidle cleanup
- Fix SSI for omap36xx to get modem working on N950/N9
- A series of omap hwmod fixes via Paul Walmsley <paul@pwsan.com>
to fix SSI for omap36xx for modem on N950/N9, fix for
OCP2SCP sysconfig idle mode, and reset data for PCIe on
dra7
- Fix out of range register access for omap3 control module
if syscon max_register is initialized like v4.6 will be
doing
- Fix l4_ls interconnect clocks for 81xx, it should always
be sysclk6_ck

ARM: OMAP2+: Fix hwmod clock for l4_ls
ARM: OMAP2+: Fix out of range register access with syscon_config.max_register
ARM: OMAP3: Add cpuidle parameters table for omap3430
ARM: DRA7: hwmod: Add reset data for PCIe
ARM: DRA7: hwmod: Fix OCP2SCP sysconfig
ARM: OMAP2+: hwmod data: Add SSI data for omap36xx
Without this booting t410 can fail randomly with no output
depending on the .config options chosen. Enabling debug_ll
causes the problem to go away. I narrowed this down to USB
by disabling one module at a time.

These patches add RTC support for the AM43xx, and add support for
the DRA7xx eDMA controller's TPCC, TPTC0, and TPTC1 IP blocks.
Also included is a workaround for PRCM hardreset control of the DRA7xx
PCIe subsystem.
Note that I do not have a DRA7xx board, and therefore cannot
test any patches for that SoC family.

Add hwmod data for the eDMA blocks:
- TPCC: Third-party channel controller
- TPTC0: Third-party transfer controller 0
- TPTC1: Third-party transfer controller 1
The TPCC's clock gating status follows the status of its clock and
power domain. This means that the hwmod code can not directly control
the TPCC enable/disable status.

Add a custom reset handler for DRA7x PCIeSS. This
handler is required to deassert PCIe hardreset lines
after they have been asserted.
This enables the PCIe driver to access registers after
PCIeSS has been runtime enabled without having to
deassert hardreset lines itself.
With this patch applied, used lspci to make sure

If syscon_config.max_register is initialized like it should be, we have
omap_ctrl_read/write() fail with out of range register access at least
for omap3.
We have omap3.dtsi setting up a regmap range for scm_conf, but we now
have omap_ctrl_read/write() also attempt to use the regmap. However,
omap_ctrl_read/write() is also used for other register ranges in the
system control module (SCM).
Let's fix the issue by just removing the regmap_read/write() usage for
control module as suggested by Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>.

Based on CPU type choose generic omap3 or omap3430 specific cpuidle

The patch registers the rtc hwmod on AM437x chips. The RTC module is
physically present on the AM438x SoC used on AM43X-EPOS-EVM, but it is

If a driver PM runtime is disabled via sysfs, and the module is
unloaded, PM runtime can't do anything to disable the device. Let's
let the interconnect disable the device on BUS_NOTIFY_UNBOUND_DRIVER.
Otherwise omap_device will produce and error on the following module
reload. This can be easily tested with something like:
# modprobe omap_hsmmc
# echo on > /sys/devices/platform/68000000.ocp/4809c000.mmc/power/control
# rmmod omap_hsmmc

Drivers using pm_runtime_use_autosuspend() may not get disabled after
-EPROBE_DEFER. On the following device driver probe, hardware state
is different from the PM runtime state causing omap_device to produce
the following error:
omap_device_enable() called from invalid state 1
And with omap_device and omap hardware being picky for PM, this will
block any deeper idle states in hardware.
Let's add a proper error message so driver writers can easily fix
their drivers for PM.
In general, the solution is to fix the drivers to follow the PM
runtime documentation:
1. For sections of code that needs the device disabled, use
pm_runtime_put_sync_suspend() if pm_runtime_set_autosuspend() has
been set.
2. For driver exit code, use pm_runtime_dont_use_autosuspend() before
pm_runtime_put_sync() if pm_runtime_use_autosuspend() has been
set.
Let's not return with 0 from _od_runtime_resume() as that will
eventually lead into new drivers with broken PM runtime that will
block deeper idle states on omaps.

Pull more power management and ACPI updates from Rafael Wysocki:
"This includes fixes on top of the previous batch of PM+ACPI updates
and some new material as well.
From the new material perspective the most significant are the driver
core changes that should allow USB devices to stay suspended over
system suspend/resume cycles if they have been runtime-suspended
already beforehand. Apart from that, ACPICA is updated to upstream
revision 20160108 (cosmetic mostly, but including one fixup on top of
the previous ACPICA update) and there are some devfreq updates the
didn't make it before (due to timing).
A few recent regressions are fixed, most importantly in the cpuidle
menu governor and in the ACPI backlight driver and some x86 platform
drivers depending on it.
Some more bugs are fixed and cleanups are made on top of that.

- Modify the driver core and the USB subsystem to allow USB devices

As usual, the bulk of this release is again DT file contents.
There's a huge number of changes here, and it's challenging to give a crisp
overview of just what is in here. To start with:
New boards:
- TI-based DM3730 from LogicPD (Torpedo)
- Cosmic+ M4 (nommu) initial support (Freescale Vybrid)
- Raspberry Pi 2 DT files
- Watchdog on Meson8b
- Veyron-mickey (ASUS Chromebit) DTS
- Rockchip rk3228 SoC and eval board
- Sigma Designs Tango4
Improvements:
- Improved support for Qualcomm APQ8084, including Sony Xperia Z DT files
- Misc new devices for Rockchip rk3036 and rk3288
- Allwinner updates for misc SoCs and systems
... and a _large_ number of other changes across the field. Devices
added to SoC DTSI and board DTS files for a number of SoC vendors, new
product boards on already-supported SoCs, cleanups and refactorings of
existing DTS/DTSI files and a bunch of other changes.

Documentation/devicetree/bindings/clock/... coming from the clk tree.

Adds a function that sets the pointer to dev_pm_domain in struct device
and that warns if the device has already finished probing. The reason
why we want to enforce that is because in the general case that can
cause problems and also that we can simplify code quite a bit if we can
always assume that.
This patch also changes all current code that directly sets the
dev.pm_domain pointer.

Commit 63aa945b10 ("memory: omap-gpmc: Add Kconfig option for debug")
unified the GPMC debug for the SoCs with GPMC. The commit also left out
the option for HWMOD_INIT_NO_RESET as we now require proper timings for
GPMC to be able to remap GPMC devices out of address 0.
Unfortunately on Nokia N900, onenand now only partially works with the
device tree provided timings. It works enough to get detected but the
clock rate supported by the onenand chip gets misdetected. This in turn
causes the GPMC timings to be miscalculated and this leads into file
system corruption on N900.
Looks like onenand needs CS_CONFIG1 bit 27 WRITETYPE set for for sync
write. This is needed also for async timings when we write to onenand
with omap2_onenand_set_async_mode(). Without sync write bit set, the
async read for the onenand ONENAND_REG_VERSION_ID will return 0xfff.
Let's exit with an error if onenand rate is not detected. And let's
remove the extra call to omap2_onenand_set_async_mode() as we only need
to do this once at the end of omap2_onenand_setup_async().

System will misbehave in the following case:
- AM43XX only build (UP);
- CONFIG_CPU_IDLE=y
- ARM TWD timer enabled and selected as clockevent device.
In the above case, It's expected that broadcast timer will be used as
backup timer when CPUIdle will put MPU in low power states where ARM
TWD will stop and lose its context. But, the CONFIG_SMP might not be
selected when kernel is built for AM43XX SoC only and, as result,
GENERIC_CLOCKEVENTS_BROADCAST option will not be selected also. This
will break CPUIdle and System will stuck in low power states.
Hence, fix it by selecting GENERIC_CLOCKEVENTS_BROADCAST option for
AM43XX SoCs always and add empty tick_broadcast() function
implementation - no need to send any IPI on UP. After this change
timer1 will be selected as broadcast timer the same way as for SMP,
and CPUIdle will work properly.

We want to be able to probe a few selected device drivers before hwmod
code populates the clocks in omap_hwmod_setup_all(). This allows us to
convert most of the clock drivers into regular device drivers.
We only need a few minimal clock drivers early for the system timers to
select between the 32KiHz clock and the high frequency oscillator.
With these changes, initializing the clock drivers can be just done at
core_initcall time with something like:
np = of_find_node_by_name(NULL, "plls");
if (np)
of_platform_populate(np, NULL, NULL, NULL);
And then these clocks will be available for the interconnect code to use.
Having most of the clock drivers being regular device drivers allows
us to use the nice things like devm_* functions and dev_err and dev_dbg.
As an extra bonus, this also allows us to develop the clock drivers for
new SoCs as loadable modules initially for cases where we can boot up
the system based on the bootloader configured clocks.
To do this, let's change the core_initcalls to postcore_initcall under
mach-omap2.
